Minerva walked into the office of the orphanage as requested. Sirius, Remus and Dougal were giving out Christmas presents to the orphans while she and Harry had visited Hogwarts. She shifted Harry on her hip slightly and raised her eyebrow in suprise when she saw Dougal comforting a girl about three years old. She noted another boy about Harry's age sitting next to him. "Dougal," she said, gaining his attention.

He looked at her and smiled sadly. "This is Fiona and her brother Duncan. Their father was my godson. I lost contact with him about a year ago. He was murdered last year and his wife died a few months ago. Fiona remembered me from pictures."

"Fiona and Duncan are wards of the state?" she asked cautiously. She knew he wanted to adopt them and while she wasn't opposed to the idea, she didn't know how to discuss magic with so many people.

"Fiona reminds me of Hermione," Sirius said while giving her a careful look. "I wouldn't be suprised if they end up at the same specialty school in a few years."

Minerva quickly caught on to what he was trying to tell her. Fiona was magical. "And Duncan?" she asked curiously.

"I wouldn't be suprised if he attended as well," he said with a grin.

Minerva nodded her head at the information provided to her. Sirius had checked their magic levels discreetly with Black Family spells, she was positive of it based on his grin. Minerva looked at Dougal and smiled reassuringly at him. "May we sign the adoption papers today or do we have to wait until after the holidays?" she asked the woman in charge of the orphanage.

"Mr. McGregor has already cleared our saftey checks from being a volunteer. If you are both sure about adoption, we can sign the paperwork now," the lady answered happily. "The children can have a family Christmas this year."

Minerva met Dougal's tearful eyes before responding, "We're sure."

Dougal sat down on the couch and pulled his wife into his embrace. "Thank you my love," he whispered emotionally. "I couldn't bare the thought of leaving them in that orphanage."

Minerva kissed him gently before replying, "No thanks needed love. Magic was the only reason I hesitated. It wouldn't be fair on Harry."

"It wouldn't have," he agreed. "Do you think we need to find a magical developer to add to the cottage? You have already enlarged most rooms as it is."

Minerva nodded her head yes. "It would be best," she admitted. "Harry is settled here and the blood wards are strong. I would hate to find another home if it can be helped. I'm sure Remus will allow us to stay while construction is underway. I will ask Sirius about it tomorrow. He knows everyone it seems." Dougal chuckled at his wife.

"Daddy," Fiona said cautiously from the bottom step. She had been told by the orphanage staff that Dougal and Minerva were her new parents when the papers were signed and then Harry had introduced them as Daddy and Momma.

Dougal beckoned the small child forward and held out his arms in welcome. She slowly made her way to them and climbed up on his lap. "Could you not sleep Fiona?" he asked gently as he wrapped her up in his arms.

"Dunc and me will stay here forever?" she asked, seeking reassurance she wouldn't be taken to the orphanage again.

Minerva caressed the girl's cheek tenderly before she answered for her husband. "Those papers we signed meant forever," she reassured her new daughter. "Daddy and I will be changing our will tomorrow to include several others that would step in for us if something were to happen to us like your original parents. You won't be going back to live in the orphanage again. We may go to give out presents to the other children but you and Duncan will stay with us."

Fiona smiled brightly at her. "I sleep with you Momma?"

Minerva kissed her button nose before nodding her head. "You may but just for tonight," she replied. "You will need to sleep in your bed tomorrow."

With that, Dougal stood with Fiona still in his arms and headed towards the stairs. "You locking up?" he asked his wife.

"Aye," she replied. "I shall be up shortly."

Dougal nodded and headed towards the bedroom. He settled Fiona in the middle of their bed before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Fifteen minutes later, he slipped in the bed on his side. Minerva chose that moment to come in to the room. She quickly went to the bathroom and changed into her gown. She slipped in bed on her side and smiled when Fiona cuddled up against her.

"The boys asleep?" he asked softly.

"Yes," she whispered. "We probably will need to go shopping for a few items. They don't have many clothing and no toys whatsoever."

"Whenever you want to go is fine with me," he said as he leaned over Fiona and kissed his wife goodnight. Soon the three drifted off to sleep.

A few hours later Minerva woke to find Harry and Duncan standing by the door sucking on their thumbs. She motioned for them to come to her and lifted the blanket up with one hand while holding the other out to help them in the bed. Harry climbed over and settled on Dougal's chest while Duncan laid down on hers. She smiled as the child looked to make sure his sister was there first. She wrapped her arms around Duncan and slowly drifted off to sleep once again.

Dougal woke up to Harry blowing a raspberry on his cheek. He chuckled at his boy and looked over to find all three children had managed to get in bed with them at some point last night. Minerva smiled at him lovingly as Duncan stirred in her arms. "When did the boys climb in bed?" he asked with a tender smile.

"About 2:30 last night," she replied as Duncan grinned at her. "I could get used to it; however, we need a larger bed."

"Agreed," he said with a laugh. "Did you sleep well princess?" he asked Fiona who woke up with a brilliant smile.

"Yes Daddy," she answered before sitting up and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"What about me?" Minerva teased.

Fiona leaned in and kissed Minerva on the cheek. "I love you Momma."

Minerva teared up at the love bursting in her heart at the simple sentence. Being a Momma would forever be her favorite job!
