It had been two days since the Hero Killer incident, and 5 days since class 1-A had begun their internships. Midoriya and Fey were still in the hospital recovering from their injuries. Fey had gone down to one IV pouch as she was slowly recovering from her torpor. She had started eating solid food as well and was well on her way to leaving the hospital. While they were healing, she and Izuku had been watching the news on the TV in their room. Everyone was talking about the Hero Killer's capture, how he had been taken down by Endeavor. As expected, none of their names had been mentioned in the story, and their injuries had been attributed to incidents that happened during their internships. At least, that was the "official" story… The truth was a lot more different and complicated.
Fey had gotten in contact with her mother in the meantime, explaining the situation to her without going into detail as to what had really happened. She didn't want to worry her, even though she had already been extremely worried when she didn't come home on the night they had fought Stain. She told her not to visit her at the hospital, especially since she was staying in another city. She didn't want her mother straining herself for nothing and her sisters needed her anyways.
On the last day of her hospital stay, Fey got a text from Iida, asking her when she was going to leave the hospital. She told him the hour at which she would be leaving and he told her to wait for him outside of the hospital. When she was finally discharged, she exited the hospital only to find that Tenya had already arrived before she even had time to step foot outside of the hospital.
"You're here!" she shouted excitedly, running towards him.
"I always pride myself in arriving early to any engagement," he answered with a smile.
They hugged each other tightly, almost not wanting to let each other go, but they did, and as they pulled away from each other, Fey noticed how Tenya's cheeks had turned slightly pink.
"You received my letter, then?" he asked bashfully.
"I did," Fey answered. "It made me really happy."
Tenya looked at her with a surprised look on his face. His cheeks grew even redder as he tried to find the next words he would say to her.
"Look Fey I-..." he stammered. "I know you said that you weren't ready for anything… more than friendship but… When I saw you faint in my arms I-... I thought I had lost you and I realized how much you meant to me. If I had truly lost you that night, I don't think I would have been able to live with myself…"
Fey looked at him as his face turned to melancholy. She stepped forward towards him, cupping his cheek with her hand softly.
"I've also realized how much you mean to me, Tenya," she confessed. "When you were in that alley with the Hero Killer ready to strike you down… I was so afraid that I was going to lose you before I could tell you that… that I love you, Tenya. You mean… so much to me, it almost hurts how much you do…"
As she said those words, his blue eyes lit up with joy. His body seemed to relax itself under her touch and he slid his hand on top of hers, leaning more into her touch.
"I want us to be more than friends, Tenya," Fey declared. "So will you… be my knight in shining armor?"
She chuckled nervously, waiting for his response.
"Only… if you agree to be my beautiful Star," he answered as he stared into her eyes.
Fey smiled wide as she leaned in for a kiss. She felt incredibly light, as though she was floating on a cloud with how happy she felt at that moment. So much so, in fact, that her wings seemingly started fluttering behind her on their own, levitating her from the ground. After eventually flying higher than Tenya, she pulled her lips away from him, her face turning red from embarrassment.
"Oh dear! This… This has never happened to me before!" she admitted bashfully.
Tenya laughed softly, taking her hand.
"I thought it was incredibly cute," he declared unashamedly.
Fey could feel her face becoming even redder than before. She felt like a young school girl again, falling in love for the first time, but as she thought about it, she realized that this was in fact the first time she had ever felt so in love with somebody in her entire life. Although this wasn't her first confession nor her first relationship, she had never felt love the same way that she felt it with Tenya.
"I'm… glad that it didn't bother you," she said with an anxious chuckle.
Tenya started to walk with her towards the bus station. He had figured that he would bring her back home since he knew her mother was sick and probably couldn't come and pick her up herself. He had taken the train to Hosu just to come see her.
"So like, um…" Fey hesitated. "Are we like an official couple now?"
She laughed nervously. She could feel her hands starting to sweat and wondered if Tenya had also noticed. She could also feel the urge to start picking at her feathers, but she tried to resist it since she was holding hands with Tenya.
"You tell me," Tenya answered. "I-I'm… not very experienced in these kinds of things…"
Fey leaned her head forward to try and look him in the eyes.
"Tenya, am I… your first girlfriend?"
She suddenly felt him tense up next to her. His reaction confirmed what she had thought and made her laugh out loud.
"Really? I'm surprised…" she admitted. "I thought for sure all the girls would be all over you."
"If I'm being honest," he began. "I thought the same thing about you, especially after seeing how all my classmates were… ogling you during our first meeting."
Fey had almost completely forgotten about how they had met. She burst out laughing, barely able to control herself.
"Ohh right! I had forgotten about that"
Tenya looked at her with a shocked expression. "What do you mean 'You forgot'?! How could you forget something so crucial?!"
His free hand started chopping the air in front of him, which only made Fey laugh even harder. She could feel her sides starting to burn with how much she was laughing.
"Tenya you're cracking me up!" She continued to laugh.
Seeing her this happy only served to make him happy as well. They had gone through so much these past few days. Seeing her smile again made him feel incredibly grateful to have her in his life now.
The two of them took the train back to Musutafu, falling asleep on each other during the ride there. They were both still exhausted from all the action they had seen in Hosu, but they knew they had to return to their internships the next day. Once she returned to Hawks agency, she got reprimanded by having to do more of the dirty work that they had been doing before the incident happened. It was only during the last few days that she actually got to do some actual hero work next to Tokoyami. After that, her internship was done and she and all her classmates returned to U.A. the next week.
Everyone was excited to share what they had done during their internships. As everyone excitedly shared stories of what they had been up to for that past week, Tenya, Fey, Shoto and Izuku were standing at the back of the class. Shoto was sitting at his desk while Fey sat on top of it. Tenya and Izuku were standing around them when a few of their classmates came by to talk to them.
"Glad you guys made it back alive, seriously" Kirishima said to the group.
"I was worried about you too," Yaoyorozu said as well. Her desk was next to Todoroki's.
"You guys were lucky that Endeavor showed up to save you guys," Rikido added.
The four of them exchanged glances, before Todoroki replied:
"Yeah, that's right… He saved us."
At that moment, Ojiro also approached them.
"Hey did you guys hear the news about the Hero Killer?" he inquired. "Everyone says that he was somehow connected to the League of Villains. Can you imagine how frightening it would have been if that creep had been there when they attacked the U.S.J.?
"He's scary, yeah," Denki chimed in. "But did you see him in that weird video? It's all over the internet!"
Fey furrowed her brow. Izuku had shown her the video during their extended stay at the hospital together. The fact that it had gone viral so quickly made her feel uneasy.
"Stain's like a pretty evil villain, but super tenacious!" Kaminari continued. "He's almost kind of cool, don'tcha think?"
Fey's eyes widened at what he had just said. She instantly looked towards Tenya, grabbing his hand without really thinking about it. To her surprise, Tenya seemed pretty calm.
"Kaminari!" Izuku exclaimed.
"Oh shoot!" Denki said as he covered his mouth. He immediately regretted his words.
"No, it's okay," Tenya replied calmly. "You're fine…" He lifted his left arm and stared at it intensely. "It is true that he is quite the tenacious villain. I can understand why some people would find him 'cool'... But instead of helping the world, his beliefs lead him to cold-blooded murder. No matter his motives, killing cannot be condoned."
There was a pause. Kaminari lowered his head and exhaled while Tenya's hand squeezed Fey's.
"To keep anyone else from suffering like me, well…" Tenya paused dramatically, extending his arm out forward. "I will strive to be the perfect hero!"
Fey smiled seeing him so pumped up. Tenya addressed the class.
"It's time for class to begin!" he yelled loudly. "Everyone, please take your seats!"
He started rambling about how they could all become pros if they worked diligently and hard enough. Fey started to laugh softly, getting up from Todoroki's desk to get in close to Tenya's ear.
"You're really cute when you get all worked up, babe…" she said as she kissed him on the cheek.
At that moment, all eyes turned towards them as Tenya's body completely froze in place. With his arms stretched out into weird positions, he could feel his face getting hotter and hotter. His face got so red, you could practically see steam coming off of his head. Fey, on the other hand, just casually walked over to her desk with a smirk on her face.
"Did we… just see what I think we saw?" Kaminari asked.
"Yeah," Jirou answered him. "I think our class rep' has a girlfriend now."
Fey delighted in her classmates' reactions, playing it off as though she hadn't noticed them talking about them. Tenya still hadn't moved from where he stood when Fey had kissed him. Her sudden "attack" had completely paralyzed him, but as soon as Mr. Aizawa entered the classroom, he suddenly appeared at his desk as though nothing had happened.
