Preface

Long ago, hidden from the prying eyes of the humans, there was a magical dimension filled with wonder and beauty, where magic was both good and bad existed. Unfortunately, a great battle between light and dark was unleashed, destroying the wonder and peace within the beautiful realm.

But this is not where our fairytale begins...no our story begins late one night a few weeks before the final dark curse took hold over the magical realm. There inside a cave was a beautiful dragon's egg resting safely within its nest when two known heroes of the realm quietly sneaked up to secure the egg for the safety of their unborn child.

Seconds before the heroes could grab the egg, the mother dragon quickly came to the aid of her young to protect her hatchling from the threat before her. Unfortunately, Snow White had the egg safely secured within her arms when the dragon known as Maleficent transformed from her bestial form.

"What kind of people are you? Threatening a child..." Maleficent asked, concerned for her unhatched child.

"A child," Snow said in disbelief. "This isn't a child; this will become a monster just like you."

"And what are you?" Maleficent asked as she slowly walked towards her unhatched child within the arms of Snow White.

"Sorry," Snow White whispered as she and her prince turned to run with the egg in her arms.

"Wait!" Maleficent exclaimed, panicked before begging. "Please, mother to mother, have mercy. I can't lose my child."

"We will bring it back when we are done with it," Snow quickly stated, before running off with her husband and the unhatched child of Maleficent.

"No!" Maleficent exclaimed terrified, blasting at the cave entrance in hopes of stopping the so-called heroes from taking her child.

However, the last thing the Queen of Dragons saw was the blast of magic that missed the two heroes by a few inches as they ran off with the dragon's unborn little hatchling, leaving her trapped in the cave that once was her den and haven.

At that moment, Maleficent swore that once she finds her way out of the cave, she would have her vengeance against those who choose to harm her and her baby. The Dragon just hoped with everything within her being that her little one would be safe, and healthy and that no harm would ever come to her little one. One day she would have her chance to reunite with her child, she would not lose herself to despair but hope that one day all would be well.

AN: I am not someone that normally writes a note at the bottom of each chapter for all to read. However, today I am making an exception... I would like to say welcome all to my first ever Once Upon a Time Fan story. This story has been floating within my mind for like forever, so I finally decided that it was time to write it down and share it with you guys. I will be slow with updates but I will always share my stories with you whenever I do have a free moment to post. Now one last thing, please read and review.
