Chapter 1-Freedom
Monday October 5, 2020
A tan woman drove up to the Warner Brothers gate, Ralph stood there with a smile. A plastic shield covered the small shack where he worked for safety reasons.
"Hello ma'am," he said. "Hello, and who might you be?" the woman asked kindly.
"My name is Ralph Theodore!" he said, jabbing a thumb to himself.
"Hi Ralph, I'm Channing Dungey," she said adjusting her mask
"What are you here for?" Ralph asked, smiling behind his Las Angeles Angels mask.
"I'm here to see the CEO.," she said.
After being let in, she drove up in her Lexus and saw a large water tower. she had a feeling, she didn't know what but her gut told her to go up there, she got out of her car and climbed up to the balcony. She jumped off the latter and landed on the 'balcony' (I don't know how to call it that thingy where they look down, the ledger or balcony or something like that)
She saw the WB shield wasn't a sticker after all as advertised online, it was a door! She pressed her ear to it and she could hear... children? She'd seen the Animaniacs cartoon when she got out of college, and she thought the way they treated the Warners in the show was downright disgusting! She opens the giant metal door with ease. Then she walked inside the tower. She swore she could hear whimpers of children inside.
She walked inside farther and saw an open door. She saw a large indoor train set that's never been used since 1993 when she walked up to a door and opened it. All the lights were out like the rest of the water tower, Channing turns on the lights, they did not work. The bulbs haven't been changed for twenty-seven years! She walked up to the bunk bed which had three levels to it and their names on it. Yakko, Dot, and Wakko.
She heard the whimpers again as they were coming from under the bed. Channing looked down and saw the three Toons under the bed. She was enraged with the Studio. How would they do this to three poor children! And what's worse, they've been locked up since 1930, so they've been locked up for ninety years! Ninety! But that's what the studio and cartoon want you to believe. but, all and all. It was cruel either way, thank Arceus she has the heart to not call CPS and have them in the foster care system.
"Hey... hey... come out from under there," she said with a warm smile on her face.
The first boy, Yakko crawled out from under the bed first.
"A-Are you gonna... gonna..." he tried to say but he couldn't say anything.
"My name is Channing Dungey, who put you up here?" she asked,
Just then a little boy in a blue turtleneck sweater poked his head out next. He had his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth, complete with a red hat and white gloves like Yakko.
"Yakko... w-who's that?" he asked. Channing heard the British come out of him, but in the show, his accent wasn't noticeable because he was born in America and none of his siblings were born in the United Kingdom.
"She claims her name is... Channing." Yakko said, hugging his little brother close. Just then a little girl poked her head out just like her brothers. She was the most terrified.
"Y-Yakko, I-is he here?" she said in a shaky voice. She was scared of someone? Who? She hasn't met anyone else in Warner Brothers except the security guard and he seemed like a very, very friendly man.
"Who?" Channing asked. "T-The CEO of Warner Brothers..." Wakko said, fear in his voice as he spoke to her.
"The CEO? He seems friendly on the phone when I spoke to-" then her brain clicked. All of a sudden she became very upset and irritated. But not towards the kids, but towards that horrible, awful disgusting man who locked them in there she wanted to have a very stern conversation with the former CEO
Thaddeus Plotz was in his office working, as in working you mean, being happy that the Warner's are finally locked up in the water tower, A smile grew on his face. The relief of those 'Monsters' being locked up made him very happy. And besides, he was having a gala on Friday for someone to give a rather large donation to the studio, hopefully, the Warner's weren't going to show up if they were going to show up, they were going to ruin his night and his chances of getting another rather large check from some foreign people.
Just then a knock on the door was heard, a tan, woman with brown hair and brown eyes walked inside.
"Oh, hello. How can I help you?" Plotz asked.
"Mr. Plotz. Was it?"
"Yes." He asked.
"I need to have a word with you," Channing told him.
"Alright," Plotz said.
"Are you aware of child neglect Mr. Plotz?"
"Well, yes I am aware of that, what's your point?" he asked her
Man his attitude towards me is just... Ugh. Channing thought.
Thank Arceus I'm taking over as CEO of Warner Brothers.
"Well, my point is, I've seen what you've done to them and that bothers me. Thank heavens I haven't called CPS on them for neglect." Channing told the CEO with her hands on her sides. She was angry at him for getting away with this for so many years. And the studio agrees with this! It made her sick to her stomach!
"Mr. Plotz this is wrong! It's wrong to lock them up. They're only kids! Not your prisoners!" she said trying to keep her voice as normally toned as possible.
"They're too zany to be let loose in the Studio!" he said getting up from his chair. Channing hugged the kids to shield them from his wrath.
"It's alright kids, stay behind me everything will be okay, no one will hurt you guys."
Channing said in a soft voice. Then Channing started to become angry.
"Look what you did to them! This is not healthy child behavior! They are supposed to play and run around and be free! Not sit inside a water tower all their lives! You make me sick! Do you hear me? SICK TO MY STOMACH! I want your stuff all packed off my desk by the end of the day, or I'll call 911 or Ralph and escort you out of the premises!" she finished.
Yakko hugged her waist as she was speaking to him.
"And what if I don't"
"Again I'll have to call 911 to get you off the studio and you are never allowed to come back, I understand that your retirement is not until next Monday but I can and will, kick you out of here by the law I'm doing that today, again I want your things off my desk by the end of the day."
Plotz sighed as she watched her leave with the three children.
"Wow, nobody's ever stood up to us before," Wakko told Channing as they walked out of the Administration office. Channing smiled. "It's my job, it's also my other job to be a proctor of all children that are abused or neglected," Channing said with a smile.
"Wow... are you a woman, or a superhero?" Yakko asked.
"I think she's both." Dot said smiling at her.
"Okay, kids. What do you wanna do?"
"Can we go to the mall to get ice cream?" Yakko asked.
"And candy!" Wakko said with his adorable, goofy smile. Channing smiled and picked Wakko up. "You are so adorable!" he said Wakko smiles and hugged her
"Okay, kids let's go." They went to her car. Channing smiled and handed her iPhone to Yakko.
"Okay Yakko, you pick the song," Channing said. He looked at the unlocked iPhone in his hands and picked a song it was called Shuga Shuga by Baby Bash
Nine minutes later they made it to Burbank Empire Center. The kids pressed their faces against the window in awe. They haven't been to a mall before, but now. Finally being free in that prison of a tower like Rapunzel, the car finally stopped and they got out of the vehicle they gasped in awe. The mall was so big! Channing gave them all pieces of blue fabric.
"Put them on, alright? There's A pandemic going on." Channing said, putting her black mask over her nose and mouth. The Warners all did the same thing, then they walked inside the mall.
The mall was larger on the inside, with escalators. People were walking around everywhere, the Warners wanted to run around here and be zany as they pleased. But, they didn't want to upset Channing.
"Alright kids where should we go first?" Channing asked kneeling to their level.
"Candy!" Wakko said
"But I want ice cream!" Yakko said with a pout.
Channing smiled behind her mask, knelt, and put her hands on his shoulders
"And you will sweetheart..." Channing smiled and hugged him and rubbed his back, his fur was so warm and soft.
She put a hand on Wakko's head and pet him
Channing and the kids all went to a Cold Stone Channing walked inside. "Okay kids what do you all want?" she asked them. "Strawberry!" Dot said. "Chocolate!" Wakko said pointing to the flavor
"I want chocolate too!" Yakko said picking the same thing as his brother.
They then got the flavors.
"What kind of toppings would you guys want?"
"Could I get Reece's and cookie dough in mine?" Dot asked.
"I want sprinkles and Hershey's chocolate chips!" Yakko said.
"I want Butterfinger and cookie dough in mine!" Wakko said in his British accent.
"You got it little man!" the lady said as she put his candy in and folded it all together into his ice cream.
"Channing? Why is this called 'Cold Stone creamery?" Wakko asked.
"Well, Wakko, you see that large slab that looks like a table?" she asked the middle Warner Sibling.
"Yes," he said, then she continued. "That slab is very very cool. Not as in cool or awesome, cool as in very very cold, See. if they don't have it at that temperature they won't be able to chop the toppings and fold the ice cream." she explained.
"Ohhhhhh, faboo!" Wakko said.
"Here you go!" the woman in the mask said, he took the small spoon and ate it.
The three Warner siblings were all happy with their ice cream, Channing went last. She got Strawberry with rainbow sprinkles and KitKat.
"Okay four small cups, that'll be twenty dollars," she said. Channing handed her the money. Yakko felt bad that she had to spend twenty dollars on them for ice cream. But she was certainly better than Mr. Plotz.
They walked out of the Cold Stone. They all finished their ice cream and they went to a store called IT'SUGAR. They went inside after throwing their empty cups in the trash. They walked on the bright red floors, looked like a newly painted Ferrari they ran inside, grabbed bags, and stuffed them in with anything they liked. Changing laughed and smiled. She bought a large bag of Skittles for her and the kids to share once they got back to her house.
Once they got all their candy, they paid then left.
"Alright guys, Let's go to Target."
"What's that?" Yakko asked.
Man... I feel bad for these kids. She thought.
"It's a store." She said simply
"Alright guys, And we are going to Target okay. I'll let you buy anything you want, how's that sound."
"But we don't want to spend all your money," Wakko said, eating his jelly beans from the bottom of his bag.
"Guys, It's okay, I used to be president of ABC.," she said
"What's that, your president of the alphabet?" Dot asked.
Channing laughed. "No, ABC is a T.V network." she smiled and grabbed Wakko's hand. Yakko and Dot both joined hands with their brother as Channing pulled them out of the mall, then back to the car to go to Target.
They arrived at the store that was next to the mall; it was only a seven-minute drive. The children look at the building as they stop the car, Channing puts on her mask again.
Dot looks at her and asked; "Um, Channing, why do we have to wear those again?"
"Guys, we have to wear these everywhere so we won't get sick. Okay? Now, put your masks on, and let's go inside." they walked inside the store.
Wakko gasped and ran to the Pokémon section of the store that was located in the front. "Wakko, we can get some Pokémon cards after we buy you kids some new clothes. Alright, sweetheart?" She asked.
"What's wrong with our old clothes?" Dot asked.
"Why do you have to buy us new clothes?"
"Because you've been wearing the same clothes since the 1930s or 90s I don't know," she said as she walked with them.
"And besides. Yakko, you don't have a shirt. Wakko you don't have pants and Dot, you don't even wear a shirt! It's not very... Ladylike." Channing said.
"Well, that's true." Dot agreed with her on that one, a girl wasn't supposed to walk around without a shirt on. Plus. How didn't they get kicked out of the mall? and how didn't the lady at the Cold Stone or the employees at IT'SUGAR notice the Warner's without any other items of clothing on them?! Guess people are that... special
They finally got to the kids section of the clothes section. She searched something for the boys first, then for Dot later.
"Ohh, Channing! Look at this!" Wakko said holding up a nice plaid buttoned-up shirt.
"Yeah! That'll be perfect for the gala on Friday!" Dot said
"Are we going to the Galla, Channing?" Yakko asked hopefully.
"We promise to be good."
Channing smiled brightly at them.
"Of course you're coming! I won't let you kids miss this! You ARE employees of Warner Brothers too, after all." she said
Yakko couldn't believe this! They could go? And not get sent home, or get in trouble by Channing?!
"Okay!" they all said.
They all walked out of the Target after buying the kids new clothes Dot wore her pink Eevee shirt with Eevee in the middle of a wheel and all of her Eeveelutions which matches her flower clip and her skirt perfectly. Yakko wore a t-shirt with a race car on it and Wakko wore jean shorts, once they'd all gone back to the car, they drove for Twenty-eight minutes to a Nike store that's in L.A.
They were inside the store, they walked to find some sneakers and dress shoes for the Gala on Friday. Dot found these Nike running shoes and nice heels in the kids' section in the back of the store. Dot gasped. "Hey, Channing! Look at these!" she found some pretty light blue flats
"They will look great on you Dot!" Channing said.
Wakko and Yakko ran over towards Channing.
"Channing! Channing!" the boys called to her
"Oh, hello boys. Find everything you need?"
"Can we get these?" Yakko held up a pair of Nike Air Force 1's and Wakko held up the same pair but in red and bright blue. Yakko was holding the same pair but in black and bright white "Alright, boys, but you have to pick out some dress shoes too." she said.
"Deal! Come on sib!" They ran to the dress shoe section of the store to pick out a pair of dres' shoes.
A few minutes later, they came back, Yakko held a pair of red shoes and Wakko held a pair of white shoes.
Channing smiled at the boys. "Nice! Kay, did you try them on?" Channing asked.
"Not yet," Wakko said. They found a place to sit. Tried on both pairs of shoes and smiled at each other.
"Well? Do they fit?" Channing asked them.
"Yes, they do Channing."
Once that was settled they went to the checkout.
"Alright. Your total will be... $2,000.00." the man said. Channing smiled and pulled out her credit card. "Hey! Are you kids the Anmanics?!" the man asked.
"Yes," Wakko said.
"Oh! I loved your show back in the 90s! It was a meme!" the man said laughing.
"A meme is something funny, like uhhhhh... Freakazoid! That kid's a meme too!" the man Jerry told the kids. If they were confused.
"Oh, okay." they nodded.
They all got into the car, put the bags in the trunk along with the Target bags, they went inside and drove someplace else.
When they drove back to Burbank, Ralph let them inside and they went to Warner Bros Administration, to see if Mr. Plotz has left yet. He hasn't, of course... Typical
Channing took out her iPhone and called the police.
"911, what's your emergency?" the operator asked.
"Yes, this man is in my office, and he won't leave. I need the police here." Channing said to the operator.
"Alright Ma'am the L.A.P.D will be there shortly."
Then a police car shows up at the studio. Channing didn't say a word to Mr. Plotz, Plotz didn't say anything back, it was a very awkward silence between the adults. Then the police arrived. The man escorted Mr. Plotz off of the studio.
"YOU WARNERS, I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS, YOU HEAR ME, I'LL GET YOU!" Plotz yelled out at the Warner siblings.
After some questioning with the police, they left.
"Thank you, Channing! You saved us! Now we can live normal, happy lives." the oldest said, with tears of joy in his eyes.
"It's no problem, kids. Now Let's go back to my house." Channing said
They all go to Hollywood. Channing stops by a gate and the guard lets her through, not boxing the children with her.
"woooooooha!" Yakko said in awe as they approached a large home.
"Alright, kids were here! Welcome to your new home!" Channing said.
They stepped out of the car and they went inside the house.
The kids gasped.
"Well, do you guys like it?" Channing asked the three.
"WE LOVE IT!" they yelled out and hugged her. Channing smiled
"Okay, Yakko. This is going to be your room." Channing opened the door to his bedroom and Yakko stood in shock. Hardwood flooring covered the whole room. A large deck for a monitor sat on the side. A closed-door was to the side. Yakko figured out that it was the closet or maybe the restroom. A very large, comfy bed sat on the side completed with open blinds. Yakko put his bags on the floor and hugged her.
"Thank you so much!" he said again.
"It's no problem, wait until you meet my husband and two children, speaking of them. I have to go get my oldest, she's at a friend's house doing online classes on Zoom." She said.
"Oh, what's her name?" her name is Louisa and the other is Eden," she said.
"Oh, how old is she?" Yakko asked.
"Louisa is ten, like your sister," Channing said and my other daughter. Eden is five." she said.
"Okay, I'm glad Dot has other girls here then besides you. You're great don't get me wrong, but she needs girls her age and girls in general. Being stuck up in the water tower for eighty years does not cut that." Yakko said.
"Alright, Yakko thank you for telling me. I'm going to pick her up. Can you stay here by yourselves or you want to come with me?"
"We would love to! Where's your youngest?" he asked.
"Oh, she's with her dad," Channing said
"Oh, alright," he said
Yakko and his siblings went to her car and picked her up from her friends' house.
Channing stopped her car in front of a house. Then a tan little girl walked out and went into the car. She sat next to Dot. her first thought that came out of her mouth was; "Mom... am I seeing things or it's the Animaniacs in your car?"
"No, it's them!" she said. Dot smiled and looked at her. "Hi, I'm Dot!" she said.
"Hi, Dot! You are cuter in real life than in the cartoon!" she said. "Thank you!" Dot smiles. They went back home, Dot and Luisa were talking. "My name is long." Dot said
"What is it?" she asked.
"Okay, it's Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the III.," she said
"Oh, wow, you're a princess?" She asked.
"Yes. my mom was Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca II." She told her.
"So your mom and dad were rulers of a country?"
"Yeah, but they sadly passed," Yakko told her.
"Boy, stop ease dropping!" Dot said
"Girl, chill!"
Dot rolled her eyes.
They got back home. another vehicle sat in the driveway. The car was a Chevrolet Tahoe.
"Oh, my husband is home," Channing said. They all got out of the car and the five kids plus Channing went inside the home, her husband Scott Power was sitting on the couch, reading one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He looked and he stood up.
"Hello, beautiful," he said kissing his wife.
"Hi Scott," she said.
"Oh! We have visitors?" Scott asked.
"Scott, I need to talk to you in the other room in private."
They walked to another part of their home and Channing closed the door.
"I found them a few hours ago at Warner Bros... up in the water tower," Channing told her husband
"Don't they belong up there?"
"They were terrified when I found them, Scott. They did not like being trapped inside there for eighty years, and they warmed up to me pretty quickly," she said.
"Well, maybe we could have a pool party for them tomorrow," Scott said
Channing smiled and hugged him.
Four hours later, it was night. The time was seven P.M, Channing went up to Yakko's door and knocked on it. "Yakko?"
Yakko opens the door and smiles at her. "Hi, Channing!" Yakko smiled.
"Hi sweetie, are you okay with pizza for dinner tonight? We forgot to go to Publix today because of the insane day we had," she said.
"Yeah! Can we get pepperoni?!" he asked excitedly, jumping up and down.
Channing laughed at the boy's actions.
"Yes we can, and I already asked your siblings about that too. They both asked the same question," she said.
Yakko smiled brightly at her and hugged her.
Man, he's very warm. Channing thought and took the warm hug in return.
"Kids! Pizza's here!" Scott called.
Wallo was already downstairs, tongue hanging out of his mouth, ready to eat the pizza whole! Just then, Yakko, Dot, Luisa, and Eden ran downstairs. The five kids all ran to the kitchen, Yakko ran to the T.V and turned onto the cartoon section.
A show called The Loud House was playing on Nickelodeon. He watched it and he started to enjoy it. The kids all crowded around the T.V Scott put the box of pizza in front of them and they all began to eat. It was a very eventful day, one that the Warner's are going to remember for the rest of their lives! Now, they finally have a roof over them, clothes on their backs. Not living like prisoners, a family! An actual family! They just couldn't believe it! Now their lives were completed. Now they have to wait for what the future has in store for the Warner's.
