Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Titans nor any of the characters. The only characters I own are Samantha "Beast Girl" Evans and the members of the circus. Any of the storyline that seems familiar is not mine and solely belongs to Teen Titans and it's creators.

The circus was loud and teeming with activity. It usually was on weekend nights, so this was nothing new. Gotham City was always a good place to go for a good audience. Treyvon would know, he had been carting the circus around for years looking for a good place to make a big buck. Though, with his newest actress and her "incentive", he would be more popular than ever. After Gotham, his next goal would be Jump City. Once he had the world eating out of his palms, he would be unstoppable. His "actress" would make sure of that. He was positive.

"Welcome one! Welcome, all! To the most wonderous circus, you've ever feasted your eyes upon! I formally invite you to Treyvon's Traveling Circus! We have all of your wildest imaginations! Including, our very own shapeshifter!"

The lights flashed and a smokescreen appeared, covering Treyvon is the smoke. With this, he disappeared from the sight of the audience. They oohed and aahed at the illusion. Trapeze artists, animals, acrobats, tightrope walkers, and more. Though he could tell that the audience was getting bored with his mindless babble and introductions. The acts were normal and expected. It was time to send out his main prize.

"And now, as I promised at the beginning, here, is our very own shapeshifter. Please welcome, for your viewing pleasure, the Changling Freak!"

Treyvon pressed a button on the bracelet around his wrist. Unbeknownst to anyone but him and the young woman now in the view of the audience, the bracelet was a remote to the shock collar around the neck of said woman. She was his slave, his puppet. All because he had something special of hers. Something he intended to keep.

The "Changling Freak" as he had so colorfully called her, was indeed a shapeshifter. She was a shapeshifter of animals. She was an odd thing, this was true. But being called a freak was quite harsh. After a while, she was no longer phased. She only did as told. With punishments constantly happening, she did everything she could to not step out of line. Her only family left was on the line if she screwed up. Taking punishments and performing like a circus animal was a small sacrifice to pay if it meant that they would be safe. It had been so long since she had been free. She had forgotten what it felt like.

"Give a round of applause for this lovely little lady!"

The audience was going wild, this was something new. This was something different. For this girl was strange and they knew it. Her skin was lavender, her hair the shade of violet. She had pointed ears and was wearing a ridiculous yellow outfit to reflect her servitude to the traveling circus. Her token of slavery was the silver collar locked around her neck. She hated it.

Every performance was the same. Going through with her powers and performing stupid little tricks. It couldn't even qualify as real training. Which was stupid considering that Treyvon forced her to train furiously when she wasn't either sleeping or performing. It was a miracle she was still alive. There was no room for failure, not with him.

"Wasn't she wonderful? Thank you Gotham for giving us the best last night here! We hope you've enjoyed our performance! Onto Jump City!"

Smoke appeared, surrounding the performers one last time.

Onto Jump City.
