Hey guys! Thank you and welcome to my story. I know I rewrote it and wrote it again but this time for sure. I will be posting more regularly. trying once or twice a week. mostly Tuesdays will be the publish date since I was able to get that day off.

COLD...

'Run.'

"Run kids run! Keep going and don't look back!" I yelled.

Cold.

The icy wind numbed my fingers and tightened up my chest. The cold will always bring me back to this moment. Trailing the kids who are stumbling half asleep deep in the dark forest. Leaves rustled. Branches smacking, cutting, blistering our faces as we ran through the low branches and thick thorny bushes.

'Fuck.'

Our throats scratched and burned alongside with our lungs that carried an intense pressure pushing against our chest, as we attempted to catch our breaths. Loud crunches could be felt with every stomp from our feet that raced against each rapid heartbeat. A trail of grinded dry autumn leaves was left behind, making it easier for them to find us. The sound of frantic breathing dissipated the myriad of barren trees. Frigid. Our noses, red. Breaths visible through the moonlit night. My skin stung as the cut's pain intensified with the icy autumn air making it feel like paper cuts lining my body. We were entering the unforgiving winter.

"Leila?" Daring not to take my eyes off from the little ones in front of me, I called to her, confident that she would hear me and know my question without me having to actually ask it.

"They are closing in, we need to- DUCK!" She shouted loud. her voice filled with panic and worry rushed thru me and gave me the boost I needed to launch myself forward to reach the kids ahead to knock them down from the danger Leila had spotted.

'Cold.'

Slamming our bodies onto the cold hard ground, we landed on the hard rocks, sharp twigs and bumpy roots of trees uniquely scattered through the vast forest. "Ahhhhh!" Sharp pain shot through my leg. Immediately I looked down towards the location of where the intense pressure came from. My eyes widened at the sight of an arrow that rudely lodged itself through my thigh. Realizing what the source was, the pain had intensified tenfold. Touching the wound with a shaky hand that was not caused by the brisk wind, my body immediately tried to stop some of the blood from gushing out. It was difficult. Needing to bite my arm to prevent myself from screaming in agony for the sake of the kids. They do not need to see any more than what they already have. 'Please let this be a dream'. Examining the tip of the arrow closely a beautiful shimmer glistened and mixed with my blood to a mesmerizing metallic purple shade, 'IT'S BEEN LACED WITH'. "Shit. Leila they're-"

"I know! Kids go, run into the safe house and play hide-and-go-seek. We will be there shortly". Leila was on the same wavelength as I was. She was able to read my mind and know that I had discovered who had been chasing us. As she slid on the grown to stop inches before our bodies slammed into each other, she had instructed the kids to hide. Wasting no time at all, Leila began to assist me on the removal of the bitch ass arrow that was lodged through my thigh. Her gentle but possessive hands picked me up from my hunched over position by supporting my chest and lifting me up to a kneeling position. Sharp pain rushed all over my body as she helped me out. tears fell from my face, raining down onto her shirt. I gripped onto her shirt and bit my lip trying to not to shout out loud to scare the kids and the rocks that we are stabbing up against my knees didn't help my discomfort but was a good distraction for what came next.

"Mama! You're hurt!" The broken cry from my little boy killed me. I didn't want him to see me in this state ever, but I guess you cannot protect them from everything. Trying to play it off as if what he sees is not true. I tried to calm him and make him understand our situation best way I could.

"Don't worry baby, look at me. Come on look up here look at me. See, mama's oka- AHHH!" Leila snapped the arrow tip from the front of my thigh paying close attention to not pierce herself with the laced tip and pulled the arrow backwards with no warning. 'Gentle as always. Not!' Helping me lean back forward to relax and ride the pain out. She held onto my chest and waist and a sensation that could best be described as a wave of apologetic energy followed through me by a firm and familiar grip. She was transferring my pain and channeling it into herself. 'The power of the bond'.

"Kids listen to me; you need to go". Leila tried to get the kids attention as she tore a piece of her shirt exposing her tan and well-defined abs that I simply could not tear my eyes away. She began to wrap it around my leg hoping for the blood to stop pooling onto the ground mixing with the wood chips, bugs and dirt scattered around. "Derek grabs your mate and make sure you protect him. He is your life now, son. Remember what I have taught you." Looking frantically around the woods for the hunters, ensuring her son comprehends her instructions, and patching me up. She was on edge. I have never seen Leila who is normally strong, confident, and fearless like this. 'Finally, she shows weakness, she shows emotion. Why couldn't she not show this before. Things could have been different. Leila-'

"Yes ma'am! Never let anything happen to my mate. My goal in my life is to make sure he is safe and happy." Derek responded like a soldier with his hand just above his eyebrow. 'He is perfect for my son.' I turned to look at Leila's face and could see a smile with two meanings. One, proud that her youngest boy is becoming a man. Two, almost a sarcastic smile towards herself. Blaming herself not being able to keep her mate safe from being injured. I'm injured.

"That's my pup. Now go, run." She waved them off and tightened my makeshift bandage.

"Come on Stiles, let's go". Watching little Derek take my son's hand is still a little weird to watch no matter how cute they look, but they are destined to be together.

Rustling sounds could be heard from behind us. 'They are getting closer.' Just as I was going to warn everyone.

"No Derek!" My son bellowed. "We can't leave them". 'Oh, my stubborn child, such a kind and beautiful heart. It will bring you strength but will be your greatest weakness.'

"Don't worry pup", 'aww he called him pup. His first pet name for him', "You heard my mama. They will be right behind us. You have me to protect you and I promise to never let anything hurt you". I gave my son a reassuring smile. He looked hesitant and fear could be seen through his eyes but as I saw Dereks hand caress his chin, guiding him to look at his eyes, he said "Trust me." Rosey cheeks appeared on my son's face as he took his hand and nodded at him. They began to run together towards the safe house that was a couple of yards away from our current location.

'Cold.' Rushed through my body.

Following them with my eyes, I was pulled away from the kids entering the safe house when Leila finished tightening the piece of fabric around my injured leg with a harsh tug. "Shit Leila a little warning next time." She looked up with conflicting eyes. Her soft brown eyes had anger, remorse, but most noticeable fear stitched in them. She was afraid of losing the kids. Of losing me. I reached out to my mate's cheek. Eyelids immediately fell shut as we shared a moment of desire. Security. Lust. Looking at her harsh features soften, was the most amazing feeling for me. Who knew that I was able to ease those frowns on her brows. Her freckled cheeks soften when her jaw relaxed from the tension. Shoulders fell from exhaling a stressful breath as she was finally able to relax and could finally begin to think clearly.

Leila's lips straightened out and I didn't like it. I wanted her to smile. One of those smiles where you cannot help but smile back. I leaned forward not even caring about the pain pulsing through my body and pressed my lips softly on hers. Trying to get her attention. I pulled away and had received a warning growl. I smiled knowing exactly what she was getting at but decided to pretend like I didn't.

"What happened? Do you hear someone coming?" Looking around clueless and frantically I said with my best Tony award winning acting skills. When I met her eyes again, they had turned a vibrant green. Meaning she was in full mate pleasuring mode. 'Oh shit I have done it now.'

"You know exactly what I mean. Don't act". It was hard to not burst into laughter, but I tried composing myself. "You know what I want, now get over here and let me kiss you the way you know I like to". I Love it when she's so possessive. Obediently, I moved forward, staring right at those beautiful nude lips. I parted my own as we made contact. Her tongue instantly entered my mouth and it tasted amazing. Our tongues danced around with her leading and having everything she wanted. Her arms carefully brought me closer to her rapidly heating body, cupping my right breast as her fingers twiddled with my pierced nipple under my shirt. 'When did she get under my shirt?' We continued to fiercely make out not caring for our deprived lungs begging for oxygen until she pulled away and leaped forward. I was lost in a heated daze. Vision was blurry and I wanted to know why she left my hard nipple unattended. "Get ready. We're-"

"Surrounded. Yeah, it looks like you are". A group of men and women armed heavily with guns, arrows, grenades and sharp knives all laced with wolfsbane. All wearing the same crest. The crest of the Perak clan. It consists of a shield with two arrows crossed, 3 stems of the wolfsbane flower in between them, and a silver bullet in the middle of it all, as if tying the whole thing up like a bow. They surrounded us into a tight circle leaving no room for escape.

A deep growl escaped from Leila's mouth followed by a harsh cry. My heart shattered. My mate has been shot. "Aww, I'm sorry, did I just shoot your leg?" Leila fell down hard rolling over, holding her shin where her fresh wound was located. They were laced with Wolfsbane and the poison has begun to enter her blood stream. She rolled by one of the hunters legs and got kicked back next to me. Catching her with my body I immediately looked at her wound and I tried to assess the damage. Leila screamed in agony while the man who shot her, Alec, exclaimed above her. "Mmm, do you hear that everyone? That's the sweet sound of freedom. Freedom for this world. Tonight we will be getting rid of this abomination and its pathetic family."

"Alec, why?" I yelled back in desperation. Wondering why a man who I believed to be an ordinary neighbor. "Why would you do this? What have we ever done to you!?"

"Oh Claire, such a simple-minded bitch. You think these abominations are just humans. You are wrong!" The way his blue eyes darkened at his last statement. It was cold, hard, and full of evil. They used to be filled with such inviting energy. 'How could I have missed it.'

"Claire you might think that this lady is just a human, but she's not. Just take a closer look." Stalking towards us, he got closer by squatting, staying slightly above us. He then grabs my chin and forces it down to see Leila. Her nails were growing, and her eyes were glowing red. She is ready to kill. I moved my head away from his grip and kicked him out the way with my uninjured leg. I tried to get Leila to desperately look at me, tried to make her see my eyes to come back to me. Because our outcomes were not good and she needs to act rationally. She's ready to launch and attack anything and anyone in her line of sight.

"Don't worry you are not a monster. You are a strong protector, and we will make it out of here". Holding her face, locking eye contact I can see her snapping out of her bloodlust drive and slowly come back. Her sharp eyes softened, and the red began to fade. Closing my eyes while she simmered down, I channeled my energy to our surroundings. To the air around us I began to call upon the element of wind. Forcing the wind to my every call and I tightened my hold around Leila's waist. With anger fueling my power I looked up at Alec and took pride in saying, "see Alec, there is one thing you don't know. I was already aware that she was a werewolf. But I bet you didn't know this about me". He looked at me with cautious eyes. Noticing the change of the weather, his experience as a hunter screamed at him to arm himself. He raised his gun, the very same gun that shot my love.

"Yeah. And what might that be?" He was on edge. His eyes frantically looking around, noticing the wind around us began to pick up. Twisting and howling into everyone's ears. Swirling around creating a vast tunnel through the frame of the trees. Everyone was distracted.

"Hold on to me tight Leila." I whispered to her. She wrapped her arms and legs around me as I slowly reached my hand up, calling for the wind. Channeling it to the center of the circle created by the hunters bodies, I looked up at Alec who just stared down at me with confused eyes. His finger switched onto the trigger ready to shoot me. "I'm a witch! BANGKIT DENGAN ANGIN!" I slammed my hand down onto the ground and the dried leaves rose around us spinning uncontrollably.

"What? A witch? But we had slaughtered that race decades ago!" Alec screamed and pulled the trigger causing a volley of 5 bullets to race towards us. I had increased the amount of magic energy into the wind to increase the speed of its rotation. The incoming bullets froze in its tracks with the raise of my hand. Alec whose confident attitude changed when he saw his frozen bullets in mid air worried of his current situation. Eyes widening almost cartoon like and body shaking like a hairless animal in the winter. Smirking back at him I changed the direction of the floating silver bullets having them follow the winds current that surround Leila and myself.

The hunters saw what happened and stupidly opened fire at me. Furious of them undermining my power, my eyes began to glow with intense magical power and rage. The rapid fired bullets swirled around with the strong tornado that finally took shape. Changed by the direction of the wind's current. The hundreds of silver bullets had no choice but to follow the wind's rotation and hurdle towards all of the hunters that surrounded us. Killing them instantly. Alec however managed to survive by ducking and dodging them.

"Think again." I yelled from my dark inner soul that had been a stranger to me. "You have killed countless of innocent mortals and witches who gave their life for us. And for that you have now made a deadly enemy." The wind rotated faster and faster the angrier I got until we had finally disappeared into the wind. The tornado that was created had dissipated, launching everyone's corpses to the tree trunks along with Alec, knocking him out instantly during impact.

We appeared inside of the safe house. Holding Leila closely I loosen my grip from her when I felt a wooden floor beneath us. Slowly looking up I took in the safe house. Dust filled the room from the spell that dissipated. Settling down I could see shelves that line against the walls. Desk, tables and chairs scattered with no purpose across the room. It almost looked like a classroom of some sorts. There was canned food on the shelves with some dusty pictures of the pack. Continuing to look around I remembered about the boys and frantically began my search for them. Finally spotting them, I could see the boys hiding under a table with Derek in his werewolf form protecting my son. He was snarling until he realized who we were and let his guard down.

"Oh no, Mama, you're hurt." Stiles looked up and peered over Dereks shoulder when he heard him. Still holding onto Derek tightly he took note of our wretched state.

"Don't you worry about us, now come here." The two little boys rushed over to us after calling for them. Leila slowly made her way off me, and we hugged them, glad to know they were still safe. Looking towards each other we frowned for what's to come.

"Claire, I know we are not supposed to, but I believe this is the only way they'll-" she spoke in a shaken voice that was foreign to Leila but escaped her lips. Not wanting to hear it I interrupted her, knowing full well what she could be suggesting.

"Yes I agree, but I am too weak. I will need your help." I said with a heavy heart. "But that'll mean-" letting go of the weak voice she just displayed, the strong confident and forceful Leila emerged again. This time she interrupted me.

"I don't care." She exclaimed, red eyes flashing at me. Telling me that she's the dominant one. "We need them protected." She was right, as always. I reached over to her wound and grabbed a bit of her blood and pushed it against my own after unbandaging my thigh.

"Blood to blood,

light to night,

unite our spirits and share our life.'"

"Hey, what are you doing? That's a dark spell." She said in an alarmed voice. I'm surprised she even knew what kind of spell it was. Looks like my mate wanted to know what I was getting myself into to protect me. 'I love her.'

"I'm uniting our life force together so we can perform the spells we need to protect them from the hunters. I used up too much magic energy and would not be able to complete the spells necessary to protect them. I need your life to save our boys.'' Taking off my necklace containing an opal gemstone, I placed it around my beautiful son. "Stiles, baby. Always wear this and never take it off. Do you remember what kind of stone this is?" Knowing it's not the time nor place to quiz my young witch but I need to know I'm doing the right thing. Not that I have any choice in the matter.

"Yes mama, that's an opal stone, right? It's my favorite because of all the pretty colors!" The pure smile of my son makes me very happy and sad for what I must do.

"That's right baby boy, it's an opal stone and it will harness your power, bring you balance, and now it will protect you from harm." My little boy looks at me with those sad light brown eyes with golden flakes representing him as a royal in my family.

"But Mommy, when I'm with you I can never be in danger". Giving me the biggest smile that showed all of his teeth except for one that just fell out this morning. This is going to be harder than I thought.

"Yes, but there will be a time when I am not there, so please promise me you will wear this forever. Never take it off okay?" He looked at me with sad eyes. I could see that he knew what I was talking about because his eyes began to fill with water. "Please be brave baby and stick with Derek. He will always protect you". Tracing his facial features with my thumb. Wanting to erase the worry lines that started to form above his brow.

"But Mommy, don't go… I… I'm going to miss you". My heart shattered from his broken voice. His hands were shaking, bruised, and he was bleeding. 'I'm sorry my darling for not being able to protect you better. So I'll put my faith in Derek.'

"Mommy will always be inside your heart. It does not matter what others think or say. You are not crazy. You are just a witch. And a royal one to boot. Be proud of it, and let your imagination run wild. It will save your life more than you know." A tear from both of our eyes landed on the gemstone and it began to glow.

When a tear from two witches built out of loss and love, a seal of essence is formed. Binding a piece of our souls together. This seal also acts as a protection spell from anyone the witch sees as a threat. Mentally alerting those who wear the stone, the enemies identity and their location. Any other witch who tries to tamper with it will be cursed by it.

"Derek, listen to me." Little Derek straightens out while waiting for his orders from his mother. It's so cute how this little innocent boy goes from being a child to a man in 2.5 seconds. He will protect my son. "My sweet little wolf, brace yourself for what I am to tell you. Our pack is dwindling. There are not many left but you and me. I won't be around for much longer so you'll be alone. I can feel some of the members are still alive but they have been captured and branded. Find them. Get strong. And restore our clan." I could see it in his eyes pain, loss, fear, grief. All just piling up. Leila is so intense sometimes but that's what makes this pack the strongest in the western region. "If you cannot find them or cannot save them. Forget about them and build your own pack. Make them strong and do not disgrace this family's name. Like I did." She closed her eyes, accepting the failure that brands her title as the alpha wolf.

"Yes ma'am. I will restore the honor of this family and make sure we strive to give hope to our followers and fear to all who are enemies." He made his declaration with so much confidence and motivation. 'He will be a great leader.' "But mommy. Do you really think I could do this?" He questioned himself. It's to be expected since he is just a little boy who is just under the age of 10. How could we expect him to do all this? On his own. He looks down at his hands and then looks at Andew who had his eyes closed. The magic of the pendent was beginning to do its job and I could feel his magic essence shift, mature, and stabilize. 'Such immense power and at such a young age. I wish I had more time to mold his gift. He is as the proficiency says.'

"Do not doubt yourself for you will be killed in an instant. Stay vigilant and stay strong. You know you have the inner wolf in you. Listen to it. You are the packs true alpha and most importantly you are the ultimate alpha. I know you are. Please little wolf do not doubt it. Protect your own and then protect others. Stiles is your responsibility; without him you will not survive." Leila held his shoulders and made sure they connected through their eyes. After she was done and made sure she got a nod from Derek as confirmation, I noticed that her eyes glowed red and then changed to yellow. Dereks yellow eyes changed from yellow to orange to finally and deep blood red signifying that he is now the alpha. The alpha of the pack. A pack for one. 'She transferred her title.'

"You are now the Alpha. Your decisions and mistakes will also fall onto your pack. They will follow you as long as you show them strength and courage." Leila fell back and laid against the old wooden desk. Transferring the power of an alpha takes a lot from a wolf and it's only usually done when one is close to death. We need to hurry and do the spells before we die.

"Leila, its time." I reached over to her hand and squeezed it. She squeezed back but it was weak.

"Yes, I know my love. Let's do it. Cast the Memory Spell." Our arms intertwined with one another as I cast the spell. The magic power in the air had covered our hands together like glowing dust. It was our spirits fusing as one, granting us shared but still separate lives.

"Okay I will begin. Kids gather together and hold each other." Derek walks in front of us while Stiles is still standing away self-reflecting on what is happening to him and his magic. "Stiles baby. Come here please." He could hear me but was not sure on how to react with his new found magic. Wanting to reach out to bring him closer to us, Derek beat me by walking over to take him by the hand and turn him to where Stiles's closed eyes met his red one. He leaned forward and had their forehead pressed together. He whispered some words that were inaudible to me and his eyes turned the most lush green. Stiles then opened his eyes and looked deep into them with blush on his cheeks. Slowly confused about what happened, Leila began to explain.

"The Green glow means he has accepted and found his mate. Now that he is an Alpha, his wolf is making all the necessary connections to build the new legacy." Leila said with a weak but proud voice. 'She's slipping and fast. I need to hurry.'

"Alright boys come forward." Derek leads Stiles and sits him on his lap in front of us. His arms wrapped tightly, and Stiles held the gem stone resting his head on Derek's chest. "Okay, close your eyes and think about each other. How you feel and how you want to protect each other. Stiles let me see your stone." As he takes it off his neck, I take it from his hand and pour the rest of my essence into it. This kind of protection spell is forbidden because the price to pay is the caster's life. "For the life of our children I will do it gladly. I will use Derek as the moon and Stiles as the light for the spell. The knights will be the hunters and my essence will protect them from being hunted by them". I raised my hand up and used air magic to blast the roof of the safe house. The moon light poured into the room and formed a circle around the boys. Focusing my soul and forcing it into the gem stone, I chanted the spell.

"WITH THE POWER OF THE MOON AND LIGHT

INTERTWINED TOGETHER FOR LIFE

PROTECT THEM FROM THEIR SIGHT

HIDE THEM FROM THE KNIGHTS"

The moon light brightened and I could feel everything. My soul tore off from my body and was trapped in the gem stone. The blood rushing through my veins came to an abrupt halt, causing my body to go limp and collapse forward. "Mommy? Mommy?" was the last thing I heard before my senses blacked out along with my eyes.

"Do not worry kid. She will be okay. I can feel it in our bond that she is returning to us. Give her a second." Slowly I could feel a wave of restoration. It was like feeling the blood in my body beginning to move again.

I groan in discontent as I force myself from my current hunched over position. Leila's spirit filled my body but there was a problem, this spirit is weak. I don't think I'll have the energy to complete the spell successfully. But I do not have a choice. It must be done. For their safety. 'Shit, I thought she would have been stronger. There is no time to waste.' "Here Stiles, take this and never take it off. It will protect you and Derek as long as you two are together." I struggled to give the stone to my son. My body wasn't at full strength but I need to move quickly and begin with the chant of the next spell. The one I learned from my husband and his family of warlocks. They had the power over the mind. That may include power over peoples thoughts, memories, and only the strongest could master telekinesis. A witch can only use magic that they are born with. If a witch uses any spells or elements that are not in their original magic print, then they will immediately die. I haven't been able to practice because of the consequences, but they need to be spared. 'I'm desperate.'

"Do it now, Claire. I can … I can feel our life force slipping." She said softly. Leila closed her eyes and did not say anything after. She's out cold. I need to do it now.

"DOWN MEMORY LANE WE GO

THE MEMORIES WE SEEK

FEARS TO BE UNKNOWN

AND NEVER TO BE SEEN"

I chant the spell over and over holding both of the boys with my one arm and think about all the things I wanted them to forget. It was going well, erasing the memories of Leila and myself getting hurt. The first wolf, Jessi, who was thrown into the pack's house, was already dead cold. She had a bullet in her head. A volley of bullets and arrows busted through the old walls and windows from the house. Blinding shoot everyone in range down.

I was almost done erasing the horrid memories until the vision I was erasing became blurry. The pain of using the spell was too much to bear with the weak soul Leila and myself shared. It felt like my head was going to explode. I thought about Derek and Stiles's love looking for the strength to continue with the spell and immediately knew that was a mistake. I could see in my head the memories the two had shared. How they crumbled into dust and were blown away. The bond was erased. 'Shit what did I do?!'

I was pushed away from the shear power that emanated from Derek and weakly looked at his eyes. The boy was in agony and was looking around frantically. His eyes flashed from red to green to a haunting, deep cold blue.

"Urgh what is happening? What did you do Claire?" Leila was awake. She could see the eyes changing color and was worried for her son. "Why does Derek's eyes show the sign of a lost mate?" 'Oh no.'

"It was too much. I couldn't control it in the end. While I was making them forget about today's events my head was feeling like it would burst in any minute. I wanted to use the emotions from the boys' love but when I thought about it, it erased it all. I tried to do too much at once. I wasn't strong enough." A tear left my eyes. 'What did I do?'

Derek kept screaming and held onto his eyes. The light emanating from them was seen through his open hands until he closed his eyes and he stopped screaming. After a few seconds he opened his right eye while he kept the left covered with his hands. "Green. They are green. That's a good sign he still has a mate." I was relieved when I saw them. I turned to Leila to get the reassuring nod from her, but I saw a tear fall from her eyes and a bright blue light. The light reflected off from her soft brown eyes. I was attracted to the light and turned over toward the source. I turned back slowly until my eyes met on the saddest blue anyone could have ever seen. His left eye was blue. "Leila what does that mean?"

"I'm not quite sure. But if I have to take a guess his human memories cannot remember who his mate is, but the wolf knows they are still alive." She said with a cold tone. "My son. My little wolf." Her voice cracked. She tried to move forward but the spell has come to collect its prize. Our shared soul. "Please… you have to remember-." Her voice was cut out by her chilling last dying breath. Her eyes flashed green. Then yellow. And then lastly blue.

Cold.

The same cold blue that belonged to Derek. My love. My mate. Died.

I'm next.

Derek collapsed onto the ground and Stiles had awakened. He must have been out when the blast pushed us away. His head was bleeding and he looked confused.

"Stiles, baby please listen to me. You need to hold onto Derek and say the spell to disappear. It will activate the gemstone and the hunters will never be able to find you." I couldn't move and what was worse Stiles wasn't looking at me. He stood up and took a couple of steps and looked around the trashed room. He stood in between Derek and myself looking at both of us and said.

"Who are you and who's Derek?" My heart sank at the coldest tone that has ever slipped out of my innocent boy's lips. 'No, I've failed.'

"Please my love, do it now before-."

A cynical chuckle invaded my ears causing a chill to run down my spine, "Ha! Well look what we have here. Jackpot." The southern voice from Alec rang through the room. "A couple of witches and wolves, aye. Perfect."

"Alec. You're finally awake huh?" I couldn't move and had no magic energy so why am I taunting him. The boys had not activated the protection spell and I could not fight back. 'What do I do now? Leila, please I need you.' Staring at the corpse of my mate. Wishing she would hold me or stand over me and say everything's going to be okay. But nothing. Her cold open eyes just stared at nothing. She just lied there. Dead.

"I got to hand it to you, doll face. Your magic is, powerful. Hell, the most power I have ever felt. Killing you and that runt of yours will be the highlight of my life." He sauntered towards us and I tried to move away but it was no use. I couldn't move. I feel numb.

"Please Stiles do as I say. Run and say the spell." Stiles looks at me with fear in his eyes and is frozen in his tracks. He falls to his knees and his hand touches Derek's ankle. 'God my kid is smart' He moved his lips, but no sounds came from them. The gun was pointed at him and he was completely frozen in fear. I channeled everything I had left to call onto our ancestors just for the smallest bit of help and managed to launch myself forward to hold on to my son's legs and yelled the spell.

'EVANESCET!'

Alec pulled the trigger and the bullet hurled it's way to my son. 'I didn't make it' I closed my eyes and felt a strong magical presence. Stiles? I looked up and saw my boy standing with his palms out and stopping the bullet that is only inches away from his hands. His body glowed with magical energy creating a second skin on him. Derek was floating unconsciously.

"Stiles what's going on? How are you-,"

"Claire that's enough. You've done everything that you can." Behind my son was a beautiful woman. She had her hand on Stiles's shoulders. The glow was emanating from the woman. She was a high priestess. From my homeland. "I have been waiting for this day and it seems like you have chosen their fate. It will be a long and hard life without you and because of you. I have broken the magical law and intervened. I will give your son the strength to escape this for we need him to rewrite the wrong of this world. His mate will also influence the magical creatures of this world for the better. I will cast your spell. Unfortunately, I cannot undo what you have done so don't even bother asking. But fear not for the boy also shares his father's magic and he will be able to reverse the effects of the spell you have casted. But only after they have consummated their relationship. Until then to prevent any enemies from killing him or worse capturing him, I will be binding his powers until his 18th birthday. Once the bind is broken the war will begin. Use this time to leave anything for him. I will return you home as well as the young wolf. I will collect your soul at midnight." Her hand waved across my face before I could ask any questions. She probably doesn't not have time to spend for breaking the law. I will be enterally grateful. I slowly began to fall backwards; the bullet had disappeared, and the world went black.

Opening my eyes, I gasped for what I believed to be my last dying breath and looked around. As promised I was home. By reflex I released the breath that I was not aware I held. Looking at the time it was 11:55pm. Ripping the blankets off my body, I rushed upstairs to Stiles's room and saw him soundly asleep. Walking toward his bed I thought about what she said. His powers will be bound until his 18th birthday. Regrettably I took the necklace off his neck and left his room and headed up towards the attic. I placed the grimoire and the necklace in the chest in front of the altar, and then walked out of the attic and closed the door sealing it with a blood seal. I walked back to Stiles's room and saw the high priestess at the edge of the bed. Waiting for me.

"You did the right thing. He will learn the truth when he is ready. Now let us go." She read my face and knew what to tell me. I'm scared and I don't want to go. There is just so much I haven't done yet. So much that I want to experience with my family. So much-

"Wait please. What about my husband? How would he know? And Derek? I mean Derek what will happen to him? He's all alone and doesn't he know? About the pack, his mom, and Stiles. No, he needs his mother. He-"

"Do not worry about the sheriff, he will find your body. You are a ghost right now. He wouldn't be able to see you anyways. And the young wolf will have to figure it out on his own now come along. It's your time now." Taking a few steps towards the bed of my only son, I have to say goodbye.

"I am so sorry my love please remember me and I ask that you forgive me." A tear landed on his eyelids and soaked into his skin. I held onto the priestess hand and a bright light emanating all over us. Swirling around and through me I looked one last time and we vanished as my son opened his eyes and blinded him by our glowing light. The air whooshed from the opened window.

"It's Cold." he said.
