In the year 1967

Mankind and the extraterrestrial beings discovered on Mars made first contact with the moon.
Astronauts roamed the moon until they were faced to face with alien monsters that started to kill them.
Aliens whose sole purpose is to destroy and cause pure eradication of humanity
They are called the BETA
Beings of Extra-Terrestrial origin which is Adversary to the human race. Alien creatures that do nothing but kill.
Mankind employed all the technology at their disposal to fight against the BETA and initiated a counterattack.
Machines and armed droids were marching on the moon's surface as they were firing their weaponry against the aliens that were turning them into scrap metal
However, that battle only lasted till the day BETA turn to the earth where they set foot upon in their invasion of the planet.
in the year 1973
meteorites fell to the earth as military forces surrounded the area and started firing because the BETA came out infesting the land.
Humankind was outnumbered and outpowered by the massive invasion of the BETA which infested the earth and cause countless deaths on the planet.
BETA aliens started to infest the towns, cities, nations, and continents as humans were being killed one by one.
All hope of the future seems lost for mankind; that was until BETA faced their own adversaries in their own invasion.
A single BETA alien was cut in half by a large shadowed humanoid mech that has glowing flashing green eyes that are almost in the shape of a butterfly wing. The mech stood up straight as it is surrounded by a bunch of identical machines with a few having bulkier humanoid shapes.
Mankind gathered their intelligent minds and created the Valvrave and TSF. The enemies of the BETA.
Specialized mechanical monsters that have one purpose in their creation; to annihilate and eradicate the invaders.
This is the tale of humanity's valiant resistance against the BETA, whose implacable advances threaten to overtake the earth.
A shadowed Valvrave appears as its chest part opened to reveal a man wearing a black and red pilot suit with the eyes glowing greenish-yellow that flashes.

In the year 1997, at the peaceful city of Japan's empire capital state: Kyoto.
It was a peaceful city filled with peaceful people who are just doing their day by either working their jobs enjoying the calm and lovely day.
We turn our attention to a bridge where there are three high school girls just looking at the water below before one of the girls turned and made a noise.
"ah! There she is!" the girl called out as her friends turned to see another high school girl coming towards them while reading a book in her hands.
"there she goes again, walking to school with her nose on her textbook." The girl beside the one who called out spoke while grinning before the girl with glasses stepped forward and waved a hand up.
"hey! Yui! Hey!" she called out to the girl reading her textbook as she got her attention taken away when called.
"ah!" the girl named Yui responded before she put her textbook into her school bag and run to the three girls who she bowed to. "how do you do?"
"how do you do?" the three replied while bowing before the now four girls giggles with smiles to each other.
The three first girls are named Iwami Aki, Noto Izumi, and Kai Shimako as they are best friends with Yui whose full name is Takamura Yui.
"doing well as always." Said Aki with a smile as the girls started walking down the road together but soon had their attention taken when they hear a loud jet engine above.
They stopped and looks up to see two large white mechanical machine called TSF fly above before over them as the wind blows hard and caused Aki, Izumi, and Shimako to hold down their skirts while screaming in embarrassment but Yui wasn't fazed as she just looks amazed at the large robots.
"ah! Everyone look!" Yui called out as she watches the mech flying away to a military base. "that's the Tactical Surface Fighter we'll be piloting once we graduate; the Type 82 Zuikaku!"
"ah, Zuikaku!" Shimako spoke out. "that unit which your father was involved in its development, right?"
"yes" Yui nodded with a proud smile. "seeing it fly just makes my heart in joy."
"well considering that your dad helped created it and your big brother is its first test and flight pilot." Said Izumi while smiling. "I guess I can very much understand why anyone would be very proud on their Family's dedication to the world."
"isn't your big brother going to be transferred to Kyoto soon?" Aki asked while folding her hands behind her head.
"yes." Yui replied with a nod and a smile before she reaches into her uniform and takes out a round golden locket that she opens to reveal a photo of her and a young light brown haired teenage man who looks a bit identical to her. "it's been about 3 years since I last saw my big brother. I can guess that he is now a Lieutenant because of how he always works and trains hard in fighting Beta."
"a Lieutenant, huh?" said Shimako with a smile. "with such a rank; we could be piloting a Valvrave unit soon."
"not forgetting that Yui's big brother is also the hero too, right?" said Izumi. "the pilot of the first created Valvrave unit; Shiranui."
"man, those units are way more awesome than the TSF." Aki stated while looking at the sky above. "They are like the super robots of a kid's dream."
"super robots is just an understatement." Said Yui with a giggling smile.
The girls now continued back on their walk as they head straight for the IJAFSPTS which is an acronym for the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces Surface Pilot Training School. The school which trains young students into great TSF and Valvrave pilots.
The class on school began as every students went to their classes and took each hard and mind boggling lessons in order to become a soldier and pilot.
Yui and her friends are in one class as their instructor who is a middle aged looking man who wears an eyepatch stood in front of the chalkboard.
"8 minutes!" the instructor exclaimed as he slammed a hand to the chalkboard that has the words '8 minutes' written on it with chalk. "that is the average time of survival for pilots in their first battle! Overcoming the odds is the first step to become a competent pilot! Got it?!"
The instructor continues his lessons as the students listens carefully but Yui's friends were just too bored of it.
"hey, do you wanna go out after school?" Shimako asked Aki and Izumi in a whisper.
"I'm too tired." Izumi replied before yawning. "I want to sleep after school."
"too much late night calls with your boyfriend will do that." Said Aki with a teasing smirk as Izumi blushes in response.
"no…he said that he'll be transferring to Kyushu." Izumi replied. "I feel worried."
"Kyushu? Weren't all the cities being evacuated?" Shimako asked with a confused face.
"they didn't give me any details, but I heard there is a new base there." Izumi replied
"what? really?" Aki asked with a surprised and confused face.
Yui was just focused on her study as her friends made her sigh before turning towards them.
"you guys..we are still in class." Said Yui in a whisper but she was soon called out by the instructor who slammed a hand to his table.
"you there!" he shouted as Yui and her friends were surprised before the short brown haired girl instantly sat up from her seat with a loud yes in reply. The instructor looks at her for a moment before remembering her name. "Takamura…Yui. Oh? Takamura, huh? A rather famous name in the military, ain't it? Your father and big brother have made a big name for your family, right?"
"y-yes?" Yui replied with a rather nervous and awkward face.
"well then, Cadet Takamura. I want you to tell me what does BETA stands for?" said the instructor.
"yes!" Yui replied with a firm pose. "the BETA are a race of aliens who seek to eradicate us, more formally known as-" Her explanation was soon cut short when a voice spoke out. "Being of Extra-Terrestial origin which is Adversary of human race." By a long black haired girl who sits above where the young girl and her friends sat at.
Yui looks confused at the other girl as so did her friends.
The instructor looks at the two before he sighs a bit and smiles.
"fine, sit down." The instructor stated before he went back to the chalkboard. "back to the lesson!"
The class was soon taking a break as everyone in the school takes their time for lunch.
Yui and her friends are at the school's garden where by it is a large field that has many TSF units getting maintenance from the mechanics.
"that was Yamashiro-san, right?" Izumi asked while eating her bento meal.
"Yamashiro Family…" Aki spoke while tapping her chopsticks on her lips. "I've heard that they produce a large number of Surface Pilots, even though they are not of the Royal Guards."
"I see." Shimako replied while looking at Yui. "no wonder she is such a rival to Yui."
"eh? Me?" Yui spoke out with a confused and surprised face. "what? no way…come on, rivals? Really?"
The girls continued to have their lunch and while at it; Izumi is reading a letter that Aki got a peek at.
"ho~? I can come home on my next leave? That boyfriend of yours sure is a keeper." Said Aki with a teasing smile as Izumi blushes before hiding her letter away.
"don't read my letter!" Izumi exclaimed as Aki just snickers.
The time goes on as the day by the day goes by for Yui and her friends to continue their training in their school.
On fall in the same year; Yui is seen walking down the street as she is going home while reading her textbook. She passes by some children who are running around playing a game while minding the road.
Yui continues to read her book when she caught sight of her home that has several black limos and men in suits guarding the area.
"ah! That's!" Yui smiles as she placed her book back into her bag and quickly made her way back home.
In the home's garden; Takamura Senna who is Yui's mother is meeting with an Imperial Japanese Soldier named Iwaya Eiji.
"he apologizes for not being able to come home." The soldier responded with a quick head bow. "he sends his regards."
"yes, I understand." Senna replied while nodding in understanding. "thank you, Eiji-san."
"I'm Home!" Yui soon hollers out as Senna turns to see her daughter coming into the garden.
"ah, welcome home" Senna greeted her daughter as Eiji turns to see the young highschool girl who smiles at him.
"I knew it was you, Uncle!" said Yui before she looks surprised and then quickly saluted. "I apologize, Lieutenant Colonel Iwaya!"
"oh my." Eiji chuckles with a smile. "what a wonderful salute. When did the cute little girl I used to know become such a model Surface Pilot?"
"w-well…" Yui blushed in embarrassment as Eiji chuckles more.
"You haven't been officially commissioned into the field yet and we are in a private spot." Eiji stated with a smile. "You are free to call me as you always have."
"okay, uncle" Yui replied with a smile before she looks side to side before to Eiji. "and if you are here; would that mean big brother is also home?"
"sorry; but he got a sudden mission and has his leave delayed by about a year." Eiji replied. "I told him to let the other pilots take the task and go home to his Family; but he insists on killing all the BETAs for himself so that his clumsy little sister won't have to become a pilot."
"ah!? That big brother of mine!" Yui looks furious as she puffs her cheeks all angrily. "treating me like a kid! Who is he calling clumsy?! I can be a pilot too!"
"Yui, that is not a face a daughter of the Takamura household should make." Senna stated in a stern voice. "Your brother is fighting the BETA to ensure that his family are safe; don't be so jealous."
"but that big brother of mine~!" Yui whined out as Eiji chuckles with a smile.
After the little banter that Yui at the garden. She and Eiji are in the house and sitting on the floor while having a cup of tea together.
"is my father still abroad, uncle?" Yui asked as Eiji nodded while gently blowing his tea before taking a small sip. "the situation must still be grim."
"yes. He's still at Ichigaya and the problems there are a little too hectic." Said Eiji as he sighs a bit after drinking his tea. "even as we produce as many TSFs that we could; the BETA are still growing at large."
"what about the Valvrave units?" Yui asked. "I mean; we built them to be more superior than the TSFs, right?"
"that's true." Eiji nodded as he placed down his tea to the table. "but even if we could produce a large number of them, the problem is to find the pilots to fly them. I hope you can understand that finding a suitable pilot to fly the Valvrave units is harder than anyone may think."
"yes, I understand." Yui nodded before looking at her reflection in her tea. "humanity's most powerful weapon; the Valvrave Units. Mechanical machines that uses a highly powerful nuclear reactor as their power source and any normal pilot who rides them would be unable to live normally due to the radiation. But upon a major discovery by my father, he found a way to ensure no deaths to the pilots of the Valvrave units." The young girl then frowns a bit. "That is why my big brother…"
"it was never in anyone's wishes for him to be a test pilot for the Valvrave units." Eiji stated with a small sad frown. "your father didn't want to take the chance of losing a child; but…that big brother of yours pulled it through and became the first Valvrave Pilot nearly 10 years ago." The soldier then smiled a bit proudly. "He's the hero who started to counterattack against the BETA and has been fighting them off with his life."
"yes….that is why I can't stop admiring him." Said Yui with a smile as she reaches a hand and grabs a part of her uniform because underneath it is her locket. "a hero who is born to fight off the BETA. My big brother is the Takamura Household's greatest warrior."
"yeah" Eiji nodded. "trust in your big brother and your father, Yui. I'm sure that in time; they will rise to the fight against BETA and bring our old long peaceful world back again."
Yui nodded as she looks very firm and determined and that made Eiji smile back before a man in black suit came and whispered some words into his ears.
"I got it." Eiji replied with a nod before he takes his tea and drinks it all. "sorry, Yui. It's time."
"you are already going?" Yui asked as Eiji nodded while standing up from his seat.
"yeah, I need to head back to Tokyo. A military force there needs some supervision and a commander." Eiji replied with a smile. "your brother will be temporarily stationed there; do you want me to relay anything to him?"
"yes!" Yui replied as she got up and then pointed a finger at Eiji. "tell him to watch out! I, Takamura Yui will be a greater pilot than him! Just watch me!"
Eiji chuckles with a smile as he then went and patted Yui's head a few times.
"you two are siblings, don't get too much rivalry between you." Said Eiji while smiling. "I'll send your regards to him, Yui. Take care."
"you too, uncle." Yui replied with a nod and a smile.
Eiji soon left the home with his goodbyes as Yui bid him farewell.
Yui went back into her home and is looking at the many photos of her grandfather and his father before him and the father before him.
"dear ancestors, please give us your strength to win this war and protect us." Said Yui in a prayer while holding both hands to her chest that are grasping her locket. "Please give me the strength and courage to win this battle."
The days goes on for Yui who continues her training in her school with her friends as every single technique and information becoming a pilot and soldier for their nation and the planet were handed down to them.
Yui and her friends went into hurdles, hardships, and so much more as each day that they go by is always filled with straining decisions.
Currently; Yui and her friends are in their locker room as they are wearing their Pilot suit which is a reinforcement made for them when they pilot their TSF units.
"man, these things are tight!" Aki whined as she stretched her suit and wear it.
"don't whine." Said Shimako while already wearing her suit that adjusted when she pressed a switch on the back collar. "Getting a bigger suit will take long since making one takes more than a month."
"but you won't feel it once it adjusts its size." Izumi added in while wearing her glasses on.
"I know that..but." Aki replied before looking embarrassed. "but don't you think this suit is a bit too showing?"
"that's just because you are underdeveloped." Shimako stated with a smile as Aki looks furious while Izumi laughs a bit.
Yui stayed silent as she is already in her suit, she adjusted her gear before she takes her locket and looks at the photo of her brother inside.
"big brother….please give me your strength so that I can face the battle that you have." Yui whispered out as she holds the locket close to her chests while not knowing that Yamashiro Kazusa; her so called Rival is looking at her while already wearing her pilot suit.
The training as the TSF pilots began as Yui and her friends followed every instructions that their instructor gave them. From flight maneuvering training, mobile land formation training, and Close Quarter Combat Training.
Yui and her friends did everything they could to become great pilots; they overcame hurdles together and even managed to turn a rival of theirs into a friend. Things were all getting good until a year passed.
In the Surface Pilot School; instructors and students gathered at a break room as they look at a tv showing the current news.
"The BETA invading from the northern Kyushu and San-in Regions of western Honshu." The news anchorman announced while showing photos of the alien menace that are destroying a city filled with destroyed TSF units and blood of dead humans. "at the moment; the BETA are heading towards the center of the mainland and will be met by the United defense line composed of the Japanese Imperial, American, and the UN Forces. Connecting Maizuru and Koube and covering the entire capital."
The anchorman continues as Yui and her friends look at the news showing the increase of the BETA's invasion.
"they're heading to Japan so fast?" Shimako asked while looking a bit scared and worried.
"they raided Korea's Peninsula just three days before, and are now heading here so quickly?" Kazusa spoke out before looking stern and nervous. "why aren't the Valvrave stopping them?"
"they can't because the Valvraves are currently stopping a large scale BETA invasion at China." Yui stated while continuing to look at the news. "at the moment there are only 5 available Valvrave units and all of them are deployed there." The young girl then turns to her friend with a smile. "but I'm sure that when they are finished; they will head straight for Japan to stop the BETA invasion that is coming to our home. don't worry, my big brother won't ever let our home be destroyed."
Yui's friends look at the girl before back to the tv's news as they see the wave of BETA that is heading straight for their nation.
By the next passing week; the order of evacuation of the city was instantly called out as citizens took their private and important belongings and evacuated their homes. Either riding evacuation busses or their own personal vehicle; or walking while following the military orders.
Yui is at her home as she is sitting on the tatami floorboard while having her hands in prayer in front of a small shrine that she prays for the safety of her city, her family, and her loved ones as she finished before leaving the room.
The young girl exited her home before came face to face with her mother and some maids who have been taking care of her since she was little.
"Yui, you don't have to take this fight." Senna told her daughter. "your brother and his team are on their way to Kyoto as fast as they can. Please come and evacuate with us."
"I cannot, Mother." Yui replied while shaking her head. "big brother's ETA is about 7 hours from Hiroshima, and the BETA are coming in 4 hours at night. I have to fight alongside my friends to ensure minimum damage to our home." The young girl then went to her mother and hugs her. "please understand my reason, mother."
Senna frowns sadly as she hugs her daughter while wishing her luck.
"devote yourself to your country, people, and make your family proud, Yui." Senna whispered to her daughter as they separated from the hug.
"I'll be going." Said Yui as she bows and Senna with the maids bowed back but with sad crying faces.
Yui then leaves her home on a limo that brought her straight to a military base south of Kyoto.
A few hours later, Yui and her friends who are now wearing their pilot suits covered under their military coats; are standing by in a briefing room as they are watching the final defense line of Kyoto.
"your mission is to protect this base at all cost!" a woman wearing a red pilot suit exclaimed as she is the commander and captain of Yui and the others. "you don't have any live combat experiences. You haven't even completed your training yet, you'd be only burden on the field!" the commander then turns to look at the screen showing the coming BETA. "this base is our last base! All you have to think of is to protect it!"
"yes, Ma'am!" Yui and the others replied while saluting.
"Commander! We have an incoming message from Tokyo Command Post!" a soldier called out while by a communication call screen as he is relaying a message. "BETA invasion are coming to Kyoto in ETA 30 minutes! They broke through Takagamine!"
"what?!" the Commander exclaimed in surprise as Yui and the others look shocked. "what happened to the 2nd and 3rd defense line!?"
"t-they're…" the soldier responded before frowning with an ashamed look. "They have been decimated."
"all of them?!" Shimako gasped.
"what about the Valvrave?" Yui exclaimed. "are they still on route to Kyoto?"
"yes!" the soldier replied while checking back the communication channel. "At the moment; they are on their way to Kyoto in ETA 1 hour!"
"1 hour?! That's too long!" Izumi stated. "the BETA are coming faster than they are! There is no telling on how long we even can last against them!"
"don't start faltering!" the commander exclaimed. "even if the Valvrave are humanity's greatest weapon, arriving at any battle at light speed is nearly impossible for them!" she then swung a hand to the side "I want everyone to get into their TSFs and be ready for battle! Understood?!"
"y-yes!" the young trainees replied before they followed her command and head straight for the hangar where their TSFs are awaiting them.
Yui and her friends went right into the cockpit of their TSFs as they started to activate their systems.
"why are those BETA moving so fast!?" said Aki with a nervous yet serious face.
"for what reason are they even heading here? This is a supply base!" Shimako added in. "this isn't the front line."
"no.." Yui spoke out while gripping the controls of her Zuikaku unit. "this base has already become the frontline." The young girl took a deep breath while having a serious yet stern face on. "let her loose!"
Each TSF units activated as the bolts and the cables attached to their backs and shoulders purged off before they started to move to the catapult bay with their armaments equipped and loaded.
"BETA scouting group is still approaching. Head count about 220" the commander riding the red Zuikaku called out on their communication line as her TSF attached its feet to the catapult and crouches a bit while its jet engine started to ignite. "Leading the assault are the Destroyer-Class, followed by Grappler-Class and then the Laser class behind!"
The Zuikaku units got ready on the catapult as their commander launched her unit first.
"mother, father, uncle, and big brother…please watch over us." Said Yui as she grasps hold of her locket that she wears around her neck before she grabbed the controllers and gripped them tight. "Blast off!"
In an instant; Yui's yellow Zuikaku flew off the catapult and into the air followed by her friends' units.
All of them are heading into the fiery pits of hell which is their war against the invaders.
