A/N: Hello! All mistakes are my own.
Ana hummed when she felt lips on her own. She giggled when she felt strong, yet sure hands caress her stomach and she squealed when she felt those strong hands slap her thigh. Blinking her eyes open, she ran her hands over his slowly growing hair.
"Good morning, Christian."
She noted that he was dressed in sweat pants and a t-shirt. He leaned over her and kissed her stomach over the sheet.
"Good morning, love."
It wasn't until she ran her left hand over his ear that she froze.
She saw a ring.
A very large diamond ring on her finger.
Eyes wide, she turned her gaze to Christian who was looking at her with love, and a tinge of nervousness.
"Christian," she started only to be interrupted by the man.
"This thing between us, it's fast right?" He asked. She could only swallow before nodding.
"We talked about it when you went away with me. That you didn't care about any of it because we had each other. That you were all in. I told you the same, but Ana, I felt that I needed to show it more. I know these past couple of months have been rough, but I have marvelled at the way you have stayed by my side. Your quite strength has given me the hope and will to go on. No one else will do but you, Anastasia Steele. And I very much would be love for you to be my wife."
Ana's eyes teared up at the simple, yet heartfelt speech. She was a simple woman. She didn't need a huge showy proposal for people to watch. She only needed Christian. He must've sensed that because instead of all the fanfare, he slipped a ring onto her finger without her knowing and waited for her to see it. Sitting up, with tears running down her cheeks she leaned over and kissed him slowly.
"I would love to be your wife Christian Grey."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," she said. Ana wrapped her arms around his neck and watched the joy and wonder spread across his face. When he leaned in and kissed her deeply, Ana knew in this moment, that she would never be happier than she was right now.
Later that evening, after Ana decided to take a day off from work, she noticed how pale Christian had gotten. They had called their families, and apart from Ana's father wanting to know when the groom had changed, and that he liked to meet the guy sometime before the wedding everything went smoothly. Christian for the most part of the day was very high energy. But now, she was starting to get concerned.
Walking over to him where he was looking into the fireplace she leaned over and kissed his cheek.
"Are you feeling okay, fiance?" she said lightly. Christian smiled a bit at his new title before pulling her hand to sit beside him.
"To be honest, no."
Ana's eyes widened and he hushed her gently.
"I am fine, Ana. just feeling nauseous. It's part of the territory," he said before leaning back and smiling at her. She shook her head before leaning over and kissing his lips.
"That's not funny. And you need to tell me these things. I can help. I'd like to help. Would you like some tea?" she asked. Christian shook his head.
"No. I'd rather you sit here with me and enjoy this fire." When she felt his head settled atop of hers, Ana snuggled into his embrace. She closed her eyes silently praying for strength Christian would need. She had no clue when she dozed off, but she woke up to sounds of retching and moaning. Ana sat up and ran to their bedroom. When she got to the bathroom door she tried opening it only to find it locked.
"Baby. Baby, open up the door."
For an answer, Ana heard nothing but retching from the other side. After a while, she heard the toilet flush and a weak, answer.
"I'm fine. I'll be out in a minute."
Ana bit her lip, frantic. She reached for her phone and called Taylor. Ever since she got to know Christian's security team, they thought it important that she always have their number. She was glad to have it now.
"This is Taylor."
"Taylor, It's Ana. I know it's late but-"
"It's fine. What's the problem?" he asked. Ana took a deep breath.
"It's Christian. He's sick and locked himself in the bathroom, but I don't know, I think-"
"I'll be there in five minutes. Have you called Dr. Grey?"
"No I haven't."
"That's fine, I'll do it. Just keep him calm until I show up. By the time we get to the hospital Dr. Grey will be waiting with his own doctor."
"Okay. Thank you."
As soon as she hung up, Christian opened the door. She saw that if possible, he'd grown paler in the last several hours.
"Christian," she gasped. "Are you-Christian!" She watched in horror as the man fell onto her. Thankfully she was able to catch him before stumbling against the wall. When she was able to get her bearings, she dragged him to the bed and slid on his shoes. She was grateful he had on good sweats and a t-shirt, so she grabbed his jacket and baseball cap. Once she was able to wrangle the jacket and hat on the man laying on the bed she ran and quickly put on a bra, hoodie and shoes. Grabbing both of their wallets, she sighed in relief when she heard Taylor calling her name.
"In the bedroom!" she shouted. She saw Christian flinch before moaning and instantly apologized.
"I'm sorry, baby," she muttered before kissing his cheek. When Taylor appeared in the door Ana noted that he looked impressed.
"You were able to get him dressed?" he asked. Ana blushed.
"No, he was already dressed. I just had to put on the shoes, jacket and hat."
Taylor nodded. He came over to the bed and easily hoisted Christian until he was leaning againt Taylor.
"Do you have everything, Ana?"
"I do," she said. He grunted before heading back to the elevator and downstairs. Once they were in the car Taylor smiled at her through the rear-view mirror.
"Oh, and congrats by the way."
Ana had been so concerned about Christian she almost forgot about her new status.
"Oh! Thank you Taylor," she smiled back. Glancing over at a comatose looking Christian she ran her hands over his sweaty chest, praying it wasn't anything too serious.
"Ms. Steele, Dr. Grey, Christian has the flu. Because of his weakened immune system, it can look much worse than it is. Thankfully Ms. Steele brought him in time to be properly treated."
Ana and Grace sighed in relief. By the time Ana and Christian arrived at the hospital, Ana saw Elliott, Mia and Carrick in the waiting room. They saw Taylor carrying Christian inside and the look of horror on Mia and Elliot's face was enough to make Ana cry herself. Carrick gave her a sad smile before setting a hand on each of his children's shoulder.
"He will have to stay at the hospital for the next several weeks."
"But I thought with you knowing his treatment he could go home," Ana said. The doctor smiled.
"Typically, yes. But since Christian is fighting cancer, we need to keep him under observation. Ms. Steele,"
"Ana," she said kindly to the doctor.
"Ana," he said warmly. "Christian is improving. I won't lie to you, he still has some more fighting to do, but the results are good, and that is what matters. This is just a tiny setback. I wouldn't typically allow this information to be told to you, however Grace informs me that you are to be married and Christian has talked about nothing else sense he began his treatment."
Ana placed a hand on her chest, tearing up at hwo sweet her fiance was.
"Really?" she said softly. He smiled.
"Indeed. I will leave you both to it. Christian can have visitors, but right now only two at a time. Tomorrow we will see if he's up for more."
"Thank you doctor," Grace said smiling at her colleague. He gave a nod before leaving the room. When it was only the two of them Grace pulled her into a hug, as Ana cried.
"It's okay sweet girl. You did the right thing. Christian's body is fighting so much. We knew this would happen, right?"
Ana nodded before sniffling and pulling away.
"I know. I just hate seeing him in pain. He's everything Grace." Grace smiled at her before squeezing Ana's hand.
"I know. I can see it in your eyes. I am glad that you are going to be my daughter-in-law. I couldn't ask for anyone better."
Ana smiled.
"I'm glad that you'll be my mother-in-law. But don't take offense to my dad when you meet him, okay? He's just upset that I didn't call to tell him first."
Grace laughed at that before nodding.
"I'll be sure to let Carrick know."
It was the next day and everyone had come to visit Christian. Ana decided to answer some emails from the hospital not wanting to leave him for the day. He'd been peacefully sleeping since they admitted him and apart from a moan or two, Ana was surprised to see his coloring coming had been kidn to go back and get her a change of clothes and her laptop, and Grace would be stopping by for lunch. Hearing the knock at the door, Ana was surprised to see a dark-haired woman dressed smartly step inside his room. She looked a bit nervous. Ana smiled at her before standing.
"Hi. I'm Anastasia Steele, Christian's fiance. Who are you?" Ana asked. The woman swallowed before licking her lips. Before she could open her mouth, Christian's weak voice sounded behind Ana.
"Leila? Is that you?"
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH LOL I can't WAIT to read what you all think about this one. Yeah, I did it. LOL
