Christine Daaé is a talented, brainy (and somewhat oblivious) junior in high school. In her diary, she chronicles, among other things, her relationship with Raoul, and the mood swings of her strange music theory teacher, Mr. Destler.

Christine struggles with hysteria and depression, losing herself in a 7 year marriage to the Vicomte. Having twins girls; one bearing a birthmark on half of her face, the three travel to Lourmarin, as Raoul's family will not accept this child. It is there where Christine will find healing, and falls desperately into the arms of a mysterious and powerful man with half a marred face.

An alternate ending to the musical.

Christine returned to her small hometown as the new elementary school music teacher. Now she's forced to run a children's summer camp with the new guy in town: a misanthropic masked man from the big city. Modern AU
