When JD starts avoiding Perry, Perry hates it. He just wants his Newbie back. It takes Carla and Jordan to kick some sense into him, but eventually, Perry pulls his head out of his ass long enough to realise just why he misses JD so much.

When JD is injured in a car accident, Perry shows his hand when he refuses to leave his bedside until he wakes up. And then he shows it some more.
