"Yes it's today, it's today our first day of school, let's wake daddy up and have breakfast, Toommy wake up!" Timmy said to his brother, Timmy waking his twin-brother by throwing his pillow at him seeing Tommy awake.
It was early morning in the Nook house and the sunrise had happened on the island of Talo, their home which was paradise to Timmy and Tommy Nook who'd been adopted by Tom Nook when they'd been infants and had grown up into little kits and it happened to be their first ever day of school which their aunt, Cherry had encouraged their dad to let them do this, hoping to make friends getting up and dressed for the day feeling hungry hearing soft knocking on their door saying they were up making Cherry relieved they were awake knowing what today was for her nephews.
"It's good you're up and excited for your first day, a little nervous too, since you've never been to school before?" she said seeing both males nodding following her out of the bedroom going to the kitchen wondering if their dad was up yet, while their aunt was making their breakfast along with their lunches seeing them eating up, just as their dad walked in, dressed for the day happy that the boys were up guessing they were excited about their first day of school, hoping they would tell him later at the end of the day seeing them eating pancakes and drinking juice feeling pumped up about the day, which made a worried expression cross Tom's face.
He knew some of the kids in their class's parents owed him money so they might be mean to them, breathing deeply trying not to worry them, about their first day seeing them grab their backpacks putting their lunch bags inside hugging their dad before leaving the house as they knew the way, feeling sort of nervous, it was their first ever day of school hoping things would be alright arriving at the school.
"Are we sure we can do this, what if we can't handle it?" Tommy asked softly.
"I think we can, we're us, we helped restock an entire store." Timmy replied.
They squeezed each other's paw gently in reassurance, going inside walking through the hallway, smiling and saying hi to the other kids unaware they knew who their dad was and scowling at them, waiting for recess or Gym seeing their classroom.
"There's no turning back now, let's do this!" Tommy said.
"Yeah go us!" Timmy replied as they opened the door after knocking on the door makimg their new teacher that was a cat letting them introduce themselves, knowing that Tom Nook was their father but knew from hearing them talkimg, he wasn't as bad as other islanders that owed him money thought tellingthem to take their seats making them notice some of their new classmates staring, some whispering as they sat at the back of the class, perking up hearing it was time for Math, they were really good at this which the teacher noticed. from their math drill sheets.
"Maybe our day is going alright, even if we haven't made friends yet." Tommy said to Timmy as they followed their classmates and the other kids into the playground making both twins excitable, feeling shy around other kids noticing some kids haddodgeballs gulping as the mean kids were throwing the ball sat them, dodging knowing some of their parents owed their dad,oney, which had nothing to do with them seeing two strange big kits that looked like them but older?
"They have nothing to do with your folks' money stuff, leave them alone!" one of them said seeing the kids leaving Timmy and Tommy alone just as the recess bell rang meaning it was time to go back inside wondering who those big kits were, seeing them disappear in a blur. knowing they had school to focus on, they could figure it later"
At lunch they sat together at a table by themselves after what had happened at recess, the kids in their grade were unsure of them which was alright because they could make friends in their own time, smirking at this enjoyingthe lunch that their aunt, Cherry had made them hoping the afternoon would go smoother than this morning, hearing the bell going back to class.
Back at the Nook house Cherry was looking at the clock knowing her nephews would be home soon andhoped they'd hada good first day knowing their dad was anxious to hear about that, as he had secretly been worrying about them since they'dleft this morning so had bedn distracting himself including drinkijg bova tea, hearing thedoor opening a few hours latear, as it was the boys relieving him asking how their first day hadwent, knowing he wasworried about them, deciding not to tell about recess telling him about therest of their day before going to do homework in their room.
"We should've told dad about those kids being mean to us at recess, you know?" Tommy said seeing Timmy shake hid head in reply, he knew if they told their dad, he'd worry and pull them out of school unaware Cherry had heard them talking realising her cousin's worries about the boys starting school had happened, deciding not to tell her cousin for now.
"Who do you think those big kits that helped us were, how come they looked like us only older?" Tommyasked his twin-brother changing thesubject from their tough first day of school after finishing homework meaning they could play which gavethem an idea to build an indoor fort as they were good atthis, knowing their dadwouldn't mind, getting to work, putting on construction gear finishing before dinner, impressed by their efforts.
"Let's see Lottie build that, right?" Timmy said proudly seeing Tommy agreeing.
"Timmy, Tommy Nook, dinner come and get it." they heard theirdadcall leaving their room.
Tom was relieved seeing them at thedining-room table wondering what they had been doing, unawareof their fort in their room seeing them eating and not being picky for once which was a good thing guessing adult talk bored them until the news of a thunderstorm got their attention as they weren't fans of thunder or lightning, it freaked them out whichTom knew knowingthey might not get much sleep tonight and be tiredfor school the next day seeing Timmy andTommy exchangea worriedlook going upstairs to get readyfor bed.
"What if the power goes out or the storm blows the island away?" Tommy said to his brother.
"I don't think it's that kimd ofstorm, Tommy it'sa thunderstorm, besides we're prepared because dad brought storm gear from ourstore, remember?" Timmy reassured him seeing their aunt come into thrir room with their bedtimesnack, saying theirdadandIsabelle had we t to help villagers duringthestorm whichmadethe boys more worried, in case anything happenedto theirdad snuggling their stuffed tenukis tight whichCherry understood
"I know you're worried about your dad beingout there, he had to help but he'll be back in themorning you'll see." she told them seeing them nod hoping she was right lying awake covering their ears to block out the sounds of thunder g asleep just as the sun was coming up and Tom had returned really exhausted, only he said a superheroic kit had helped who was around hisboys age.
He was happy that Timmy and Tommy were okay, and sleeping as he needed sleep himself and goijg to bed feeling sluggish after the eventsof last night, turnijg his phone off so he could sleep knowing Turkey Day was coming up, smirking lyijg on his bed on hisfurry side out like a light.
