Hey guys this is a Far Cry story I wanted to write for a while. This chapter will focus on the Beginning where The Junior Deputy built the Resistance and fought back against the cult.

I will show scenes I like from the game and describe the liberation of each region

I will make improvements where I see fit.

The New Dawn

Intro

Years ago there was a place called Hope County, Montana it was a thriving,beautiful place and the people were nice to each-other. That quickly changed when a cult called 'Eden's Gate' began to slowly take over the county. Nobody took this cult seriously at first, but as years passed they grew larger and more organized. Things changed a lot after that,people began disappearing,businesses shut down, and more of these cultists began appearing. Their leader, a man named 'Joseph Seed' says that God has spoken to him and has warned him of a collapse that is coming. He believes the world as we all know it was coming to an end, so he must gather all who are willing to atone and renounce their sins if they want to survive the collapse. He and his Family began building Bunkers to survive the Collapse, then after that they began an armed occupation over the valley. They began taking food, resources, they even took control of Towns, shops and even people. Residents tried to fight back, but any who tried were either killed and put on display or captured where unspeakable acts would befall them. It wasn't long after that when the beautiful Hope County turned into a place for psychos and killers.

Joseph Seeds siblings Jacob, John and Faith were each given an army to assume control over their areas of Hope County.

Jacob Seed is the oldest brother of the family. He is responsible for maintaining the security of his family and training new soldiers for Eden's Gate. He uses a form of Musical mind control called "The Culling" where he hypnotizes people to go crazy when they hear the song "Only You". He also trains a group of elite fighters called "The Chosen" the most skilled soldiers of Eden's Gate.

John Seed took to the public role of the church's legal representation, and more privately the cult's head of indoctrination and influence; serving as the herald of the Holland Valley region of Hope County. Upon arriving in Hope County, John was able to use his fortune in acquiring land and farms without hassle, and quickly became acquainted with the county political and legal system. John uses a method to convert people called "The Cleansing" Where people are placed underwater in a lake filled with Bliss. Then their sin is tattooed onto their flesh then cut off.

And Faith Seed, the adopted sister of the family is in charge of the Henbane River area of Hope County. She is in charge of the manufacturing of Bliss. Bliss is a drug Eden's Gate uses to convert people to their cause and increase their numbers, it also keeps the cult in a state of euphoria. Faith often appears to her followers while they are on the drug, and she can give them commands that they tend to follow. Faith Seed uses a method to convert people called "The Pilgrimage" . It's where people walk the path and take a leap of faith to prove their loyalty to the cult.

Each member of the family had a part to play in the coming years. The Father has prophesied a day where people will come for him and try to take him away from the project,but he believes God won't let them take him and when they do they will meet a terrible fate.

The Arrival

The day "The Father" has prophesied has come. A group of Deputies, along with a US Federal Marshal have come to take "The Father" away, but have failed all of them are now in the hands of his siblings, except for one Deputy. A Deputy by the name of "Jake Rook" who is 25 years old, new to the force and not very experienced in gun fighting. For his appearance,he was Caucasian,had short black hair, and brown eyes. When Eden's Gate captured Marshall Burke,the Deputy escaped the cult and vanished.

The Deputy woke up in a bunker where he met with a war veteran named "Dutch" Together they came up with a plan to build a resistance to fight back against Eden's Gate. If they wanted to have a shot at defeating the cult they needed to establish a foothold, so they had to liberate the island from the cult.

The Holland Valley

The Morning after Jake escaped from the cult's grasp, he liberated "Dutch's Island" from them, then he moved to the Holland Valley where he liberated the town of Fall's End making friends with a woman named Mary May Fairgrave and a Pastor named Jerome Jeffries. Together they all came up with a plan to fight John, Jerome suggested rescuing prisoners,while Mary suggested retrieving "The Widow Maker" , her Dad's big rig that had been modified with machine guns. Dutch provided Rook with names of people in the Holland Valley who could aid him. A War-veteran named Grace Armstrong and a man named Nick Rye who owns a plane that could provide air support and who is about to be a dad anytime soon.

Rook began with rescuing people from Johns forces, he freed nearly two-dozen people and many of those people re-payed him by joining the Resistance and helping take the fight to the cult. Rook took no pride in killing people, but it had to be done.

As days passed Rook helped Nick Rye get his plane back and he along with Nick's wife Kim convinced him to stay and defend his home and friends. He helped Grace defend the Church she was held up at,and defend the graves of fallen war vet's. Both re-payed Rook by promising to come to their side when he calls them. He also rescued a Dog named "Boomer" that was about to be transported to god knows where, that Dog became Rooks loyal companion. Rook also spent his time liberating outposts.

John decided he'd had enough with the Deputies disruptions so he captured him and brought him to the cleansing where John tried to convert him but failed, as he was riding to his bunker, the deputy escaped with the help of Pastor Jerome and together they rescued more prisoners being held by the cult then escaped.

After Rook escaped he continued his work. He liberated more outpost's,freed more people and bonded with the new friends he had made. Rook has become Good friends with Nick, he's always helped Nick when he needed it most and for that Nick has placed his trust in Rook,Grace took a shine to Rook, she saw him as a man who's not afraid to stand up to others and for that he's earned her trust. Rook quickly took a liking to Boomer and without a doubt a trusted companion to have by his side.

The Region was quickly falling out of John's grasp, as the Resistance gained more ground. John's Ranch got captured along with his food outpost, his convoys were being destroyed, one of John's soldiers defected to the Resistance and his "YES" sign was destroyed. John decided that the Deputy had had his fun and captured him again, this time transporting him to the Bunker. There John tried to convert the Deputy again with his partner Hudson right beside him when the Deputy failed to say "Yes" he got mad, then took Hudson back to her room,then came back to prepare for Rook's confession.

Before John could get his hands on Rook, he escaped from his chair and silently killed his way through the bunker. It was then that John indulged him. He declared his sin to be 'WRATH' so he indulged the Deputy, allowing his sin to consume him until he becomes 'WRATH' Rook continued to fight his way out of the Bunker until he escaped and when he escaped Rook knew to Lure John out and to do that, he had to burn his operation to the ground. John deployed the Chosen to try to stop the resistance, it allowed the peggies to regain some ground , but it wouldn't hold.

After escaping John the 2nd time Rook and his friends got to work to lure John out of Hiding. They started by liberating the rest of the outpost's, cutting off the Peggies supply line, then destroyed the silos. In a last ditch effort to stop the Resistance, John deployed 'The Revelator' an 18-wheeler armed to the teeth.

The Resistance set up a checkpoint to stop the Revelator, led by Rook. They fought for a while and the resistance succeeded, destroying 'The Revelator'.

With John out of option he launched a final effort to stop the resistance by taking Fall's End. When the Deputy arrived in the town, it was deserted and when he arrived at the church, he was knocked out by one of John's soldiers. When Rook began regain consciousness John was tattooing WRATH on his chest. Rook tried to struggle,but John stopped him, then finished tattooing WRATH on him. John then began with having the residents of the Holland Valley confess their sins, he started with Nick declaring his sin Greed (Nick's Chest was tattooed with the word GREED) John had Jerome help with the confession unwillingly. After Nick said he would atone, John pushed him to the ground and sliced off the tattoo on Nick and stapled it on the Wall of the church. Then he moved on to the Deputy,when Jerome told him to Confess, Jerome held out his bible whispering him to say yes. Rook said "Yes" Placing his hand on the bible, then quickly opened it revealing a gun, rook grabbed the gun quickly shooting it, hitting John in the left ear. The peggies prevented Rook from shooting the bullet into his face. John screamed in pain as two of his men quickly escorted him out.

Rook and his friends had to fight the peggies in Falls End then chase after John. Mary then drove Rook to the airstrip, when they arrived at the Airstrip where Rook grabbed a plane to chase after John. In the air Nick aided Rook in shooting down John, despite being wounded. After they shot him down Rook landed the plane and chased after John on foot, when he caught him, he beat him up, then threw him onto the ground. It was there that John said his final words to the Deputy before succumbing to his wounds. Rook leaned down to John and pulled the Key to the Bunker off his Neck.

Rook returned to Fall's End to announce John Seed's death. Everyone cheered in happiness after hearing the news of John,but Rook reminded everybody that the fight wasn't over yet, with that in mind everybody gathered to follow Rook to assault the Bunker and rescue the People and Hudson,who were trapped inside.

The Bunker attack was successful, many people died attacking the Bunker, but the prisoners escaped and the resistance destroyed the Bunker. When the Bunker was destroyed, resistance fighters met up with the prisoners with Rook leading them.

At the Spread Eagle Bar people were celebrating their victory, many people applauded Rook giving him hugs, hand shakes, and even kisses. Tonight was a night to celebrate, the peggies have been driven out of the valley and they'll never recover from this. Mary reminded the Deputy that he also gave the people here Hope again. Hudson said to Rook as far as she's concerned he's the one in charge now. Rook joined the friends he made and drank,sang and talked with them.

This was a night to remember.

Carmina

A day later Rook received a call from Kim, she said she had a problem and needed help as soon as possible. Rook arrived at the Ryes house where he found Kim sitting on the couch. Nick arrived just then rushing to his wife's side. Kim took Nick's hand saying that the baby was coming. Rook and Nick helped up Kim, taking her to the truck Nick and Kim got in the backseat while Rook got in the Driver-seat. Rook drove to the Clinic as fast as he could, avoiding any obstacles in his path Kim's screams grew louder as he drove. When they arrived at the clinic Rook and Nick helped Kim inside the clinic,Rook went outside after that.

Hours later Nick and Kim came outside with their newborn child in Kim's arms. Nick gave the deputy the honor of being their daughter's godparent. Rook was surprised, but after everything he's done for them they felt he earned it. Kim grabbed the Deputies hand and thanked him for everything they've done, and promised that her and Nick will always be there for him.

Nick helped Kim home after that.

Rescuing Jess

After John's death Rook spent a few days resting up and planning the Resistance's next move, until he got a transmission from Dutch saying he lost contact with his niece 'Jess' and asked Rook if he'd head up to the White-tail Mountains and look for her. Rook agreed to search for her, Dutch gave him her last known location,an old lumber mill that Jacob's forces used to hold prisoners. He also gave him a description of her.

Rook arrived at the Lumber Mill, he scouted the area until he found Jess sitting in a Cell. Rook attacked the Mill, it was a hard fight but in the end Rook stood victorious. Militia came to secure the Mill; they began with releasing the prisoners, then moved onto knocking down the signs,then cleaning up the dead bodies. As soon as Jess was let out she walked up to the equipment table retrieving her bow and arrows. Rook approached her, Jess turned to him thanking him quickly before moving on to business. She said she was hunting a psycho loyal to Jacob called 'The Cook' She asked for Rook's help to track him down and kill him. Rook agreed then Jess grabbed Rook's arm and set off.

As they were tracking 'The Cook' they freed some of his prisoners. They stealthily killed the Peggies without alerting the others. As they were tracking Jess asked Rook if he wanted to know why they called him the Cook. Rook nodded. Jess told the story, she said that one day the Cook broke into a house taking a family from their bed's, starving them,dehydrating them, then the parents made their kids drink their piss, the cook didn't like that so he strung up the parents, cut off their toes and fed them to the kids. She said that the air filled with the smell of burning flesh,she said how she never forgot that smell,her voice seemed to get quieter as she was telling the story. Then she said the Cook was gone after that, vanished like a shadow. Rook tried to comfort Jess,but it was clear that she didn't want it as he swatted Rook's hand away. They continued walking until they arrived at a small base where they found a half-dozen peggies. Jess pointed to the one holding a flamethrower, confirming it was 'The Cook' ,Rook saw anger rise in Jess then she began firing her arrows. Rook grunted in frustration Rook pulled out his gun and opened fire.

Rook finished up with the guards, he turned to Jess who was repeatedly sinking her knife into her corpse. Rook walked up to her placing a hand on her shoulder, Jess kneeled there for a few seconds before getting up and turning to Rook. Jess said that even though the cook was dead she didn't feel any better, she said that dutch has been right about a lot of things lately and maybe he was right about Rook as well. Jess held up a hand and said if he ever needed help he could call shook her hand and nodded.

Rook thought maybe behind all that dirt and mean temper there was a good person behind it all, maybe we could be good for each other.

The Henbane

Rook went back to Fall's End with Jess. They arrived at the Spread Eagle Bar, when Jess entered Mary's eyes widened as she saw Jess, she walked out of the bar and she and Jess high-fived. Rook was surprised by this, Mary explained that they knew each other, they went to school together,they weren't friends but it was nice to see a familiar face.

After that everybody gathered around. Rook said with John dead they need to focus on clearing the other Regions. Mary said that the best place to start at the Henbane was the prison, Peggies have been hitting that place hard, she said there was a resistance group held up at the prison and they weren't gonna hold out much longer without help. She also said a Sheriff was calling the shots. Rooks eyes widened in surprise. He thought Whitehorse died,he was relieved to hear that one of his friends was still alive.

Rook grabbed Boomer and Jess since they were the only ones available since Grace went to the white-tail mountains, Nick was still recovering from John, Mary and Jerome were needed here to keep the peace.

Rook along with Boomer and Jess got into a truck and headed out to the Prison, the drive was long there wasn't much on the radio so Rook and Jess started talking. Rook asked what she was into but she didn't seem to want to talk much, she seemed more focused on the mission.

When Rook helped defend the Prison Rook approached Whitehorse, while helping an injured man inside. Rook met Tracy and The Mayor, Whitehorse said Rook has been giving Edens Gate a hard time.

After talking to Whitehorse,Rook and Jess spoke to Tracy and Virgil. They discussed ways to cripple Eden's Gate in Henbane,Tracy said to destroy the statue of Joseph and Virgil said to stop the Peggies from polluting the water supply with Bliss.

Days passed as Rook and Jess got to work in liberating the Holland Valley. Rook and Jess have liberated outposts, freed prisoners, stopped Bliss from being poured into the water supply, they even destroyed the statue. Rook has even recruited some new allies, a fire crazy maniac named 'Sharky Boshaw' and a relative of Sharky an old woman named 'Adelaide Drubman' Rook saw Sharky as a cool guy, crazy but cool. Jess vouched for his saying she knew him. Rook wasn't comfortable around Adelaide, she kept looking at Rook with a hungry look that really made him uncomfortable. Rook helped Sharky with the Angels and got Adelaide's helicopter back for her.

Faith has blissed Rook three times, but failed to convert him. Rook pulled Burke out of the Bliss and now nearly seventy-five percent of the Holland Valley is now controlled by the Cougars.

More days passed. Rook along with Jess, Sharky and Boomer have liberated all of the outposts,shut down the production of Bliss,burnt down the Bliss Fields,destroyed the Bliss convoys,destroyed her shrines and killed her chosen. Rook also used that time to bond with his companions. He bonded with Sharky pretty easily,Boomer was already a good dog and a good friend.

Jess was starting to come around. He learned they both like Blood Dragon, he learned she used to have a boyfriend,but broke up with him. She would share much more than that,but she really was coming around. Rook was beginning to develop strong feelings for Jess, she wasn't exactly a nice girl but underneath all that dirt and blood he saw that she was a good person

As the war progressed Rook began growing more heartless, he killed more mercilessly, grew more reckless, and became a little more harsh.

Faith has had enough, she blissed the Deputy one more time,she has had enough with him. She said if violence was the only language he would speak,then she would speak his language. She had Burke kill Virgil, open the gates at the prison,then kill himself. Rook and his companions arrived at the Prison and fought their way in, they rescued Tracy, but it was too late for Virgil. Tracy told Rook that Faith's troops had captured Whitehorse and the Bunker was closing. Rook gathered his companions and made their way to the bunker,but Faith was waiting for them.

The fight was long, Rook and his friends managed to kill faith, rescue Whitehorse and break out the prisoners in the Bunker. They destroyed the Bliss tanks in the Bunker,flooding it with Bliss.

Rook returned with Whitehorse to the Prison there told Rook to finish this once and for all. With John and Faith dead Jacob is all that remains,so the White-tail mountains were his next destination.

The White-tail Mountains

The Deputy spent a few days relaxing after 'killing Faith' with his friends, he planned where to begin in the White-tail Mountains he took control of the Lumber-mill so it could be used as a staging point. Rook decided to start with gathering some allies there, Sharky gave Rook the name of a Demolition Expert,his cousin "Hurk Drubman."

Rook set out with his allies to the mountains and began to make a dent in Jacob's operations, they took control of a few outposts, destroyed their things used to capture wolves,and freed some recruited Sharky's cousin 'Hurk' he seemed a little too hyperactive and crazy in Rook's opinion,but he needed all the help he could get. The White-tail mountains are where the best soldiers of Eden's Gate reside, liberating it won't be easy.

Jacob responded to Rook's actions and captured him. When Jacob had Rook in his hands he subjected him to the culling and left him to die. Rook was found by Ell,the leader of the White-tail militia and brought to the Bunker,but some didn't trust him. Rook spent time proving himself to them by doing tasks to help gain ground. The tasks were rescuing captured Militia, activating a radio tower, and destroying a training ground for the chosen. After all that work Rook earned the trust of the Militia. Rook continued working to secure the region,but this region was harder than the others;these Peggies didn't mess around, they were smart and organized. Rook and his companions still managed to liberate Jacobs outposts, free prisoners and do more work for the Militia. He met up with Grace later. Rook helped a doctor with studying the Judges by clearing out an outpost and capturing one.

Days passed and Rook bond with his friends have gotten stronger, Hurk and Sharky have become good friends, Grace really grew on him, Boomer still had a strong attachment to Rook, Adelaide got along with Rook better than before, Nick and Rook became best friends almost brothers, and Jess grew a lot closer with Rook they became close friends.

Jacob captured Rook again and culled him a second time, this time Rook may have killed some of his allies. Every time Rook was culled he changed but he needed to remain strong to defeat the Seeds. Rook and his companions continued their work and liberated the remaining outposts,freed more prisoners, and destroyed the last of his wolf lures.

The white-tail mountains have been liberated but the fight isn't over yet. Jacob culled Rook a third time and made him kill Eli,the militia wanted to kill Rook but Tammy stopped them. She ordered Rook to find Jacob and Kill him or she'll kill Rook.

The fight between Rook and his companions between Jacob and his forces lasted a while. Jacob sat by a rock dying, he said his final words to Rook before taking the key from his neck. Rook and his friends went to Jacob's Bunker to rescue Pratt and end the Peggie presence in the White-tail Mountains once and for all. Rook has rescued Pratt and together they flooded the bunker and escaped.

The night when Jacob died the White-tail Militia cremated Eli, nobody blamed Rook for this but now. What will happen.

Joseph is all that remains now and if they defeat him Hope County will be Liberated.

One-Night Stand

Rook and Jess's relationship grew stronger,they were always there for each other and worked well together. One night they made love and decided to start dating.

The Final Confrontation

Rook arrived at the "Father's Compound" where he found nobody waiting for him. The Father walked out of the church and confronted him. He explained everything and layed out options, he blissed Rook's friends and companions,then held out the Deputy's at gunpoint.

He gave Rook two options. Resist or Walk Away.

Rook didn't back down. Joseph spilled canisters of Bliss and had rooks friends attack him. Rook fought back against them, snapping them out of Joseph's control. When he snapped everybody else out of it they all banded together and defeated Joseph.

Joseph sat on the ground defeated, he said the final seal has been broken and the collapse has begun.
