Fallout and Shield Hero are own by Bethesda and Aneko Yusagi respectively
The Brotherhood of Steel stands outside of Adams Air Force Base, the Enclave's last base in the Capital Wasteland. They are at a stand-off, both sides ready for battle. Two women walk in front of the Brotherhood. Sarah Lyons and Lone Wanderer step forward with Liberty Prime staring down the Enclave soldier, who is sweating and it is not from the heat.
"How do you want to deal with this Martha?" The daughter of Elder Lyons asks her best friend, who looks at the quivering soldiers. She opens her mouth to give an order until…
"Men stand down!" A voice within the Enclave army comes out and a man in an officer outfit in black walks towards Sarah and Martha. "I am Colonel Naofumi Iwatani, commanding officer of the United States military."
"So why are you here? You know we can kill you here and now." Sarah questions and the colonel bows to the shock of his troops.
"I beg you, please let my people go and you can kill me."
"Sir don't!"
"We will gladly fight for you!" His troops begged their commanding officer but he was still in his kneeling form. He raises his hand to stop his soldiers from attacking.
"Please men! I will gladly sacrifice myself if it means protecting you all!" Naofumi shouts for everyone to hear including the Brotherhood women. "I am prepare to die for my soldiers."
"Okay." Lyons said and aimed her laser pistol at the last leader of the Enclave. Her finger is on the trigger, ready to fire.
"Wait!" Martha grabs her friend's gun and takes it away from her. She looks down and sees Naofumi kneeling on the ground, begging to die. But in his eyes show no fear or cowardice. "Let me ask you something Colonel. What is your goal? Why do you care for troops?"
"I am the commanding officer of these men and women. All of them look to me for guidance and as a colonel, I will protect them even if I must die. As for my goal, I wish to recreate this country! To save the USA and put an end to this wasteland of chaos!"
She looks at the laser pistol and then Naofumi. The Lone Wanderer pulls her plasma defender out and aims it at his head and sees no fear again. She smiles and spins her energy weapon to hold it from the barrel. "Take it."
Naofumi and Sarah are at an agreement for once as they can't believe she said that. The Enclave Colonel reluctantly takes the plasma defender and stands on his feet. Martha places her arms on his shoulders and looks him straight in the eye. "A leader doesn't sacrifice themselves, they guide their soldiers to the end and beyond. I want you to remember to live so you can lead your troops and accomplish your goals."
She looks at the Brotherhood and orders them. "Let them go!"
"You can't be serious Martha!" Sarah shouts with shock in her voice. Letting go of the enemy that has caused chaos in the Capital Wasteland and killed her friend's father. Martha should want to annihilate the Enclave more than the daughter of Elder Lyons should. Naofumi is confuse but knows that this is the only chance both him and his troops can leave unharmed. The vertibirds land beside him and he orders his army and they enter the vehicles to leave the Capital Wasteland with the Colonel thinking of Martha's words. He declares not a warning but a promise to the Lone Wanderer. "When we return Martha, it will not be as enemies but as equals."
He closes the door and The Enclave flies away. Sarah can't believe that her best friend is doing this. "Martha why?! After everything they did to the Brotherhood and you! You should want them destroyed more than any of us." She remembers how her friend would cry while she slept about her dad dying thanks to the Enclave, the very people she is letting go. Martha looks at her best friend and smiles.
"My hatred for the EncIave died with Colonel Autumn. I want to see if the new colonel will be different then Autumn. Perhaps the Enclave can reform and change." Martha looks up and sees the last of the Enclave leave. Perhaps it is naive but she believes in Naofumi.
Colonel Iwatani looks from the window and sees the Capital Wasteland getting smaller and smaller until it is a dot. He then looks at the papers he was given. When Martha was captured and held in Raven Rock, engineers were able to hack into her pip-boy and copy the information while she was unconscious. The most important is a list of vaults with one of them Naofumi wants to find. An Enclave soldier in power armor asks him a question. "Orders sir?"
"Plot a course to California, our location is Vault 18."
A month later, the Enclave lands next to Vault 18 and Colonel Iwatani walks towards the entrance door, which begins to open. A man with soldiers reveals himself and walks to meet Naofumi. The two parties stand together and they salute eachother. "General Iwatani, I am Colonel John Bragg and Vault 18 Overseer. We are 800 patriots and ready for action."
"Colonel Bragg, there must be a mistake. I am only a colonel and a recent one at that. You should lead us." Naofumi is confused as to why John is talking like he is the commanding officer. Bragg shakes his head and hands him a message.
"Fraid not General. You are looking at the last message of President John Henry Eden. In the event he were to die, you are to be promoted to general and command will go to you. As of right now, you are now General Naofumi Iwatani. Congratulations sir."
He looks at the message and sees he is telling the truth. Naofumi is, as of right now, the highest ranking officer. Now Naofumi Iwatani isn't a strong soldier. While he was under Autumn's command, he worked on finances and logistics. He knows how to shoot and has killed Brotherhood and bandits before but he is more of a strategist and prefers to lead his troops. But he knows that the Enclave needs leadership and Naofumi wants to reform the military. So he looked at Colonel Bragg and said with conviction in his voice. "Gather all the troops, we are moving out."
"Very well sir. I know a location we can use. Have you heard of New Vegas?"
Vulpes Inculta stands in front of the scared citizens of Nipton as they clutch tickets that determine their fates. He takes joy knowing that he will execute the profligates of this wretched city. The mayor has just been burned alive and now the rest of the citizens are being picked. A legionary rips a child from her mother as she has been chosen to be crucified. The mother tries to save her daughter but the other prisoners stop as they know that she will be killed. The Legion puts the child on the cross and about to insert the nails to her hands but the soldier's head explodes.
"Find the shooter!" Vulpes orders his soldiers who search for the attacker. "And kill the profligates!"
The others walk towards the scared people with their machetes. Men in black iron reveal themselves and lit them on fire using flamethrowers and heavy incinerators. Vulpes looks shocked as his soldiers are turning into ash because of these unknown soldiers. A centurion runs at one of them with a power fist but a woman that seems to be leading them fires a plasma gun and he becomes goo. The scout of the Legion is forced to kneel down as his people have died within the minute. The woman puts her hand on her ear. "This is the Hellfire squad, we have secured the town and taken out the hostiles."
Multiple vertibirds fly over the town and touch down. Naofumi exits with the rest of his soldiers but in a new outfit. Wearing an olive green overcoat over a darker outfit, on his shoulders you can see general pins. He walks towards the short blond female soldier and the kneeling Vulpes, right at the steps of city hall. "Excellent work Duke."
She salutes at her commanding officer. "No problem sir."
"You will pay for these outsiders! You will be put to the stake and that bitch a slave!" Vulpes threatens but the general just pulls out his Plasma Defender and shoots him, turning the Frumentarii into goo.
"I hate slavers." Naofumi growls at the filth and looks at the scared citizens of Nipton. He walks to the child and takes her to her mother. He makes sure to calm them. "Citizens! My name is General Naofumi Iwatani of the Enclave and I assure you, we are not conquerors but liberators and wish to stop these savages."
The people cheer, seeing these Enclave soldiers that destroyed the Caesar's Legion invasion as heroes. Nipton has become the Enclave's first territory of the Mojave Wasteland and certainly not it's last.
Over the years, Naofumi would make sure Nipton is repaired and safe from NCR and Legion conflict. One of his orders is making Duke Dornan a Courier in Primm so she can map out the Wasteland. Though her reports are difficult such as right now in the general's office. General Iwatani is sitting behind his desk with Colonel Bragg beside him and listening to a story about a Vault she found.
"So there I was in Vault 19, surrounded by Powder Gangers. They attacked me and demanded caps but suddenly like lightning, I drew my trusted rifle and took them out in an instant!"
"Sgt Dorian, focus on the story!" Colonel Bragg shouts at the sergeant, who rubs her head embarrassed. "Right, sorry Colonel. Vault 19 was massacred by these Gangers and littered with fire geckos so I was forced to destroy the vault by using explosives in the sulfur caves."
"So another vault has been abandoned or destroyed." Naofumi thinks sadly. They have been sending Duke to vaults during her courier routes to see if any of them have survivors to recruit into the military. "Thank you Sgt Dornan, you are dismissed."
She is about to leave but decides to reveal an odd job going on. "The Mojave Express is doing an odd job. Six couriers including myself, are delivering random items to New Vegas. I think the employer is just crazy but hey it's caps."
"Hmm.. I see. Make sure to use Goodsprings to get there faster and report once you return. Also check on Vault 21 to check on their status." He orders which she nods, winks at him and walks away with a pep in her step. Once the general and colonel are alone, Bragg scowls at the door that Duke left in.
"Why do you keep her in the army sir? She is disrespectful and doesn't have a care in the world." The old colonel has a rivalry with the young sergeant as while he is old fashioned and strategize, Duke is known to fight battles and even leave her squad to charge and defeat her enemies by herself. In fact, she volunteered to be a courier because it seemed to be fun and didn't want to serve under Bragg.
"Perhaps, she can be rowdy but is a loyal and dedicated soldier and succeeds where others failed. I trust her with my life, John." Naofumi explains to the colonel who stops his criticism of the young sergeant. He may not like her but he will trust his commanding officer.
Later tonight, Naofumi and Bragg with guards walk toward the Mojave Drive-in and find a crashed satellite. "So this is where that broadcast is coming from."
"Correct sir. Eyewitnesses have said that around midnight, the satellite creates a movie on the screen." The two leaders of the Enclave walk towards the satellite but the general holds out his hand to stop Bragg and has an engineer examine it. Suddenly the projector in the satellite activates, showing odd messages. Bragg feels something is wrong and pushes the engineer as he disappears from view. General Iwantani orders the soldiers as the satellite turns off. "Quarantine the area! No one gets in and finds a way to reactivate it!"
Sgt Dornan ducks behind a car, clutching her hunting rifle, as the Powder Gangers fire at her and her friends in Goodsprings. "Sunny throws the dynamite!" Her trigger happy friend does just that and tosses it to create a big explosion for the scumbags. A Powder Ganger throws a stick of dynamite but she aims and fires. The bullet hits the dynamite, creating an explosion that destroys the thrower. She fires and hits another Ganger with a headshot. One of them fires his 9mm at her but she dodges the bullets and Sunny comes and blows the guy's head off. "Good distraction Duke."
"Hey I had him Sunny." Duke jokes then shouts at one of the scumbag. "Alright Joe Cobb, come out with your hands up!"
Joe comes out holding Trudy hostage. "Alright I'm out! Now don't do anything we are all going to regret or I will put a bullet in this broad!"
Trudy stomps on Cobb's foot, causing him to let her go and she ducks as Duke aims and gun downs the Powder Ganger leader. She runs to Trudy. "Are you okay Trudy?"
"Heh come on, that scumbag was as threatening as a bighorner calf." The mayor of Goodsprings said with a smile. The villagers cheer as they have defeated the Powder Gangers and Ringo sighs relief that those that killed and robbed his caravan and friends are gone. Duke looks up, proud that she protected the town that saved her but then she is confused when she sees something in the distance. Sunny looks up as well and prepares her shotgun. "Is it more Powder Gangers?"
"No, it looks like Vertibirds." The sergeant realizes who it is once she sees the emblem on the flying vehicle. It touches down and a man in an olive overcoat exits and walks toward the town. Duke runs toward the man and to the shock of everyone, hugs him. "Good to see you sir! Everyone, this is my boss General Iwatani."
She smiles at her commanding officer and can't help but wonder about him. "What are you doing here sir?"
"We have come for you Duke. You disappeared and your tracking device was sighted here." He explains to his soldier that her pip-boy is a tracker, allowing her to send an SOS before she was shot by the checker suit bastard. She explains to her superior about the man and Great Khans that try to kill her by shooting and burying her. Luckily she was saved by a securitron and healed by Doc Mitchell. Naofumi looks at the town and comes to a decision. "Goodsprings will be targeted by Powder Gangers. The Enclave will protect it and take out these thugs."
"Yes sir!" Duke said with a cheer to take out Powder Gangers. The Enclave marches to the NCR correctional facility to protect their Goodsprings territory. The camp full of Powder Gangers are sitting, waiting for any travelers to rob. They look at an entire army coming at them and they try to run away but are gunned down with bullets, lasers, and plasma.
NCRCF has become a fortress and base for the Powder Gangers. They are lounging around, waiting for a new target to raid. That was until the side of the prison exploded and unknown soldiers in armor entered through the newly created hole. The bandits try to mount a defence with the watchtowers being used to snipe the invaders. But the vertibirds above them are using the mounted guns to take them out. Eddie looks out and sees the destruction, shocked by this attack that came from nowhere. "Where the fuck did these guys come from?!"
"Boss, they came out of nowhere!" His bodyguard shouts as bullets and lasers is all they can hear. The Enclave enters the facility and destroys everyone in sight. Scrambler uses his brass knuckles and punches one of the soldiers but it barely makes a dent and the bodyguard is punched with a powerfist and his head flies off, right next to Eddie. He can only scream as a plasma grenade lands next to him and engulfs him. The Powder Gangers fall to the Enclave with Naofumi and Duke entering the prison. Duke sees a glare from a gun and dives to take a bullet from a hidden Powder Ganger and he dies as Naofumi kills him with his Plasma Defender. He kneels beside her as medics run to heal her.
Later in Nipton Hospital, Naofumi is waiting for Duke to wake from unconsciousness until a soldier enters the room and salutes. "Sir, Colonel Bragg has returned!"
The general enters the city hall and see John Bragg standing, completely different. His blond hair is gone and now bald, his head has a scar that looks it's skull was open, and body looks like it was augmented. He sees his commanding officer and salutes. "Thank god to see you sir!"
"What happen to you Colonel Bragg? Where did you teleported to?" Naofumi ask as Bragg looks tired and pulls out his pip-boy to show a map of a place that looks nothing like Mojave.
"Trust me sir, you need to see Big MT to believe me." He said and takes out what looks a gun.
Naofumi looks around the area that he finds himself in. Apparently the gun was a teleportation gun and now he is in what is called the Think Tank. He can hear a loud voice and sees a brain attached to three monitors appear in front of him. "WELCOME GENERAL LOBOTOMITE TO THE PRESENCE OF THE GREAT THINK TANK."
"I was not prepared for today." Is all Naofumi could say, staring at more robot monitors with screens around him.
He enters the Sink where Colonel Bragg is showing his superior his home in the Think Tank. Naofumi finds the land and technology impressive and the scientists… Adequate. He looks at the map of the land and the tanks where Bragg's brain, spine, and heart once were. "This is an impressive base for the Enclave. Send regiments to clear any threats in the facilities."
"Yes sir!" Bragg salutes and leaves the room
while Naofumi goes over the list of facilities until he feels something grabs his leg and looks down to see a tiny securitron with a smiling mug. "Do you have any cups?"
"Cups?" The General questions and wasn't expecting the answer.
"Fucking mugs! I know you have them! You have to have them!" It shouts and the terminal said in a British voice.
"Muggy please don't yell at our guest."
Suddenly Naofumi can hear voices from all of the objects in the Sink.
"The General is no doubt a Commie smasher. Here to kill those reds that infiltrated this lab." The Book Chute said.
"Come on Chute, you gotta be chill. Some smooth music may help you relax."
The toaster comes to life to yell in Naofumi's ear. "Pitiful Jukebox! My powers shall soon turn the world into the darkest of settings with me as ruler! None of your music will be heard!"
"Zzz… Heal those sons of bitches…"
"Everyone shut the fuck up!" General Iwatani shouts and all of the personalities are quiet. He points at the Auto-Doc that is 'sleeping.' "Wake up Auto-Doc!"
"Wha… Yes sir, what are your orders?!"
Naofumi has an idea. "Colonel Bragg said you remove his brain and reinsert it with implants. I want you to do the same with myself."
Big MT has become the base of operations for the Enclave. Thanks to the technology in facilities like X-8 and X-13, The Enclave is becoming the most advanced faction in the Wasteland thanks to an army of Cyber-dogs and Saturnite weapons. Bragg is serving as the mayor of Nipton with Primm and Novac joining the Enclave while Duke has just entered the New Vegas strip and is sending any information that can be useful. Naofumi meanwhile is staying in the Big MT to make sure the scientists don't create something crazy and go over any experiments they are commissioning.
One of the experiments is putting control chips on Lobotomites and using them for frontline battles, basically zombie soldiers. He makes sure the people are confirmed criminals or raiders, of course. One of the Lobotomite soldiers comes in and drops books from X-8. He is standing and drooling "Uh..."
"Report to your handler." He orders and the Lobotomite walks away but more stumbling away. The general sighs as he picks up the books to read them. "I need to work on the control chips. Let's see… Chute, chute, keep, keep..."
He places the books into two piles: To get rid of or keep for mass production. "Communist Manifesto: Chute, How to build your car: Keep. Portal to another worl- Damnit Mobius! Stop hiding your plans for me to sign!"
Naofumi knows this is an idea Dr Mobius has been going on about for a while. A portal to teleport to another world as he has said that the country is not worth saving and should try greener pastures. The general growled at the idea of abandoning his country and made sure to yell at him for even suggesting it.
He grabs another book and reads the title: "The Record of the Four Holy Weapons? I have never heard of this one. A novel perhaps?"
Naofumi opens it and reads the contents. Inside is a tale of monster armies known as Waves attacking the noble kingdom of Melromarc. To prevent the country's destruction, the magicians summon four heroes each with a holy weapon to lead the knights to victory. However a red headed princess would manipulate the four heroes into killing each other and lead to… Naofumi is turning pages and sees only blank spaces left. "What the hell? Did they stop writing the book due to the Great War? No matter, the chute it is."
He doesn't even have time to put it down when a light comes out of the book and General Naofumi Iwatani disappears with The Record of the Four Holy Weapons dropped to the floor. The Enclave wouldn't know about their leader's disappearance until mysterious messages would be found by Duke Dorian.
Naofumi opens his eyes and finds himself in an altar with three others. He looks at his arm and notices a shield attached to it. They are surrounded by kneeling men in robes. "Oh Four Holy Heroes, the Kingdom of Melromarc have summoned you to assist us against the Waves of Catastrophe! Please save our world."
The General watches the other heroes and notices all of them don't have that much muscles or scars, showing next to no combat experience. The swordsman seems to be uncaring and has a lone wolf mentality. He scoffs and adjusts his hair. "And why should we?"
"Come on, we can be heroes! That is awesome!" The kid with a bow looks excited at the chance of heroics. Seems to be childish and has never worked in his life. Which is odd as living in a Wasteland means there is no such thing as a spoiled brat as those were the first to die.
"Yeah this sounds fun. Look, this guy has his cosplay outfit out already." The spearman points at Naofumi and the general can tell right away that this man is a dolt, easy to manipulate. Though Naofumi cannot let such disrespect go without punishment.
"If you were any of my soldiers, I would have you exterminate a raider outpost with nothing but a wooden plank. I am a soldier and deserve respect."
"Whoa, that is some awesome roleplay! Reminds me of Call of Battle." The bow user said, not believing Naofumi at all. The General wants to take out his Plasma Defender and teach the brat a lesson but he doesn't feel his sidearm in his holster.
"Please four heroes! The king wishes to meet you all!"
'A monarch… As if things can't get worse.' The General of the Enclave thinks as himself and the others are being escorted out of the room. Unseen by anyone, Naofumi uses his Pip-boy to send out a morse message. 'Get the message Duke.'
Legion soldiers try to stab Duke Dorian with a machete but she grabs his arm and kicks away his weapon. She takes out her K9000 Cyberdog gun mows down him and his friends while a Centurion tries to sneak attack but Veronica's Saturnite powerfist destroys his head.
"Awesome Veronica. You too boy."
The Brotherhood Scribe gives her a thumbs up and you can hear barking from the gun. They walk away from the Legion camp while Enclave soldiers touch down to secure Cottonwood Cove. Duke stops once she receives a message from her Pip-boy. "Help. Kidnap. Standby. General. Naofumi. I better alert this to Dr Mobius."
"Oh joy." Veronica said sarcastically. "Talking with those brains in jars is fun."
