A/N: I don't own the characters.

First of all, I'm a huge Deckerstar fan, but I kind of liked the drama, angst, action, and jealousy at the end of Season 3. And I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if the relationship between the Detective, Lucifer, and Pierce became a little more…khm…complicated. :)

I saw several threesome fanfics that included Chloe, Lucifer, and Dan, but I've never seen a single one about Chloe, Lucifer, and Marcus. When I started writing this story, it became quite clear why it isn't an easy thing, but I try my best. This will be a longer story, but I hope you'll bear with me and enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. :)

Warning: the first chapter contains some smut, but I plan some much more explicit scenes in the upcoming chapters, which involve these three characters.

Reviews are always highly welcome! :)

Chapter 1 - Sweet dreams are made of these

The room was bathing in the lazy and tired orange light of the late afternoon sun. Chloe was stretching like a cat on the wide bed, contentedly. As she arched her back and took a deep breath, the lace on her steel blue bra trembled and gleamed in the soft light of the setting sun; it resembled the raging sea. A hand stroked her side slowly and gently from her hip to her shoulder, leaving a fiery tingle behind, then it turned and continued its journey on her collarbone and sternum until it reached her belly. As the warm fingers wrapped around her hips, she looked up and plunged into a pair of intent blue eyes.

"Marcus," she whispered and smiled at the man who returned the gesture, then kissed her passionately. His lips tasted like fresh, spicy lemon. Her hands slid around the nape of his neck and she dug her fingers in his greyish brown hair. She gasped when he left her mouth to kiss and nibble her neck. She felt as if his mouth scorched her skin and desire flooded her body.

"I want more," she said in a strangled voice and Marcus complied immediately. He peeled off her bra with surprisingly skilful moves and directed his kisses to her breast. Chloe squeezed his strong arms as a jolt of pleasure raced along her body when he sucked on her nipple. But it still wasn't enough. She wanted to feel his touch on each and every part of her body. Then something strange happened. It was as if the sensations multiplied. She held his head and grazed her nails across his scalp lightly, so she was sure that his lips were around her nipple, while he was caressing her other nipple with his thumb. But simultaneously, she felt a trail of kisses on her hipbone and a gentle hand on her calf, which travelled higher and started drawing tiny circles on her inner thigh. She wanted to lose herself in these heady sensations, but her curiosity got the better of her. She opened her eyes and gasped at the sight. She could see Marcus who was busy with her breasts, but she also spotted another, very familiar form on her other side. Lucifer. He was leaning on his elbow and peppered her lower abdomen with light kisses. The strays of the afternoon sun drew the outline of his bare muscles.

As he tilted his head to have better access, she could see his face. He indulged her with closed eyes, his incredibly long lashes brushing her skin and his elegant stubble scraping her thigh ever so slightly. As if he sensed that he had been watched, he opened his eyes and immediately found her gaze. His deep brown eyes were sparkling with mischief and lust, which sent an unexpected wave of arousal straight to her core. Her heart was pounding furiously as her gaze slid from Lucifer to Marcus. Before the fear upon his reaction could replace her arousal, she realized that he was smiling brightly at her. Chloe's eyes flickered between the two men and she started to feel utterly confused. Marcus tucked an unruly curl behind her ear.

"You told me you want more," he said and glanced at Lucifer who flashed a charming grin at her.

"We're here to fulfil your desires, Detective. Just give in and relax," Lucifer said, and his lips closed on her sensitive skin again. She felt her body relax as the two men continued their ministrations. One of her hands was back on Marcus's shoulder, her nails digging slightly in his flesh when he started to draw circles around her nipple with his tongue, eliciting the sweetest feelings. Her other hand found its way into Lucifer's hair. She started to play with his raven-black curls and eyed him eagerly as he placed wet kisses right above the hem of her panties. She was trembling with anticipation as he hooked his thumbs into the garment and pushed it down slowly. He looked up once more and smiled at her sinfully before diving between her legs. When his tongue brushed her little pink bud, a jolt of pleasure washed over her body and her eyes popped open.

Chloe was panting hard as she stared into the darkness of her bedroom. Her blanket was tossed down to her feet and she was swimming in perspiration. She jerked her hand nervously to her groin and let out a relieved sigh when she realized she was wearing her PJ shorts. It was just a dream. She started to pull back her blanket when a body shifted next to her. Marcus.

They had already been past a couple of dates when Chloe decided it was time to take their relationship to the next level and introduced Marcus to Trixie. From then on, they slept together more often. The nights they spent together had been the islands of peace for Chloe so far. At least compared to her days. Although Dan and Ella had known about their relationship, they didn't want to make it more public, yet. And it still felt like they had to walk on eggshells when a certain consultant was around. And this certain consultant was around quite often. Although the initial awkwardness had eased somewhat, her relationship with Marcus still caused tension in her partnership with Lucifer. So, she decided to refrain from PDA while Lucifer or other colleagues were around and save it for the evenings. It had worked so far, but she found it worrying that Lucifer had crept into her dreams. What does all this mean? She had been over Lucifer for a long time. She had to be.

Her gloomy line of thoughts was interrupted by the soft groaning from the man next to her. Marcus snuggled up to her and circled her waist with his strong arms.

"Are you okay?" he mumbled sleepily.

"Yeah, I just… I had a strange dream, that's all," she sighed and pulled her blanket to her chest. She closed her eyes and melted into his embrace. She should just go back to sleep and forget this stupid dream.

On the crime scene

The next day started just like any other. Marcus left early to get to the office on time, and Chloe took Trixie to school. She barely left the school's parking lot, her phone started to ring. She put it on speaker.

"Hi, Marcus. Miss me already? I'm heading to the precinct," she said with a small smile.

"I do. And I'd love to see you again so soon, but unfortunately, that won't happen now. There's a new case, which is a high priority. And I want my best detective to work on it." She could hear him smile through the phone.

"Got it. Just send me the address and I'll go straight to the crime scene."

As soon as Chloe got the address, she texted Lucifer to inform him about the new case.

When she parked her car on the crime scene, she immediately realized why this case was a high priority. She was in one of the richest parts of LA. The huge mansion behind the yellow tape was surrounded by a beautiful courtyard with sculpturally pruned trees and bushes. Probably even the gardener had a higher salary than her. Her contemplation was broken by a familiar voice.

"Good morning, Detective," Lucifer greeted her cheerfully. He looked impeccably in his black three-piece suit and crispy white shirt, and his hair was as coiffed as always. She started to play with his raven-black curls; a flashback of her dream popped up in her mind. She cringed slightly and shook her head to get rid of the unwanted mental pictures. Lucifer was a coworker. Nothing more. This was wrong on more than one level.

Lucifer stopped at her side and inspected her warily.

"Are you all right?" he asked with a frown.

"Yeah, absolutely. Everything's fine. Let's go inside," she motioned to the front door.

"Right," he mumbled. He didn't look convinced but asked no more questions.

They entered the building and found Ella in the living room, examining the body. The victim was a man in his late thirties. He was wearing elegant, but comfortable clothes; something a rich guy would wear at home. He was quite handsome, but the overall picture was ruined by the fact that his face was covered in dried blood, which probably came from the huge wound on his head.

"Gnarly, right?" Ella asked with a sigh as she leaned above the body to take some more pictures. "It looks like someone mistaken his head for a pinata." She shook her head.

"Was he beaten to death?" asked Chloe as she circled the body that sat limp in a leather armchair.

"Probably. But I have to examine the body more thoroughly to be sure. However, I know the time of death. He died around 11 PM."

"Okay, thanks, Ella. What do we know about the victim?"

Ella opened her notepad and began to list what she learned so far, "His name was Vincent Skalbeck. He was an engineer at SkyFly-Tech Solutions. It's a thriving company, co-owned by his father-in-law. His body was found by his wife, Erin Skalbeck after she came home from a 'ladies' night out'. You can find her in the kitchen."

"Ooh, a grieving widow! I wonder how this poor chap managed to anger his wife so much that she beat him to death," Lucifer grinned at her.

"Let's not jump to conclusions," Chloe glared at him. Lucifer had always been a handful, but since she was together with Pierce, he assumed in almost every case that the spouse was the killer. And that made Chloe more and more annoyed.

They found the wife sitting at the kitchen table. She was leaning on her elbows and buried her face in her palms. As soon as they entered the kitchen, Chloe could hear the muffled whimpering, interspersed with some occasional, louder sobbing. Poor woman. She knew this condition from her own experience. When the police informed her about her father's death, she cried until every ounce of strength she possessed left her body and all she could do was to wail faintly. But the pain always erupted with renewed vigour as she became aware of the news over and over again. This woman could feel the same, and her heart sank as she watched her.

Chloe suddenly realized that she had been lost in her thoughts and had been staring at the grieving widow for God knows how long. She noticed that Lucifer watched her fondly, but when he realized that he'd been caught, he averted his gaze.

"Maybe this time it wasn't the widow," he muttered and started to walk towards the table. The woman looked up when she heard the approaching footsteps.

"Mrs Skalbeck, I'm Detective Decker, and this is my partner, Lucifer Morningstar. I know this is very hard for you, but we have to ask some questions."

The woman looked blankly at her, but nodded, "Of course, Detective."

Mrs Skalbeck told them the details of her evening and could confirm her alibi with several photos that she and her friends uploaded on Wobble last night. She left the house around 8 PM and came back early in the morning. Her husband planned a quiet night at home: he chilled his favourite wine and put the book he had received from his wife for his birthday on the coffee table. Chloe thought back to the living room, remembering that she had indeed seen a book lying on the floor beside the armchair. It is possible that the victim read the book, but it fell to the floor when he struggled with the killer. She made a mental note to investigate it later.

"Did your husband have enemies? Or did he have conflicts with somebody recently?" she asked the woman.

"No, he got along well with everyone. He was a kind, gentle, playful man. Everyone loved him," she sniffed and fresh tears welled up in her eyes.

Chloe sighed. The woman was clearly innocent, and she didn't have further useful information, so it was time to leave her alone. She was about to say goodbye when Mrs Skalbeck began to frown and looked up.

"Now that I think about it, there is something that you should probably know."

"Any information can be useful. Please, go on."

"As I told you, everybody loved Vincent, which is true. We have a lot of friends and this neighbourhood is close-knit. But I noticed that some of the neighbours may not approve of our lifestyle. Although I doubt that they would kill Vincent because of this," she laughed bitterly.

"What do you mean they don't approve of your lifestyle?" Lucifer chimed in.

She looked at Lucifer with a strange mixture of timidity and fierceness. Although her mascara smeared, Chloe could still see how beautiful she was. Her emerald green eyes shone brightly, and her heart-shaped face was framed by her bright, curly, ginger locks.

"We both believed that we should follow our desires. Every desire," she emphasized knowingly.

"That sounds interesting," Lucifer perked up and grinned salaciously. "Go on."

"We loved each other, and it never occurred to us to leave each other for someone else. But nonetheless, we were attracted sometimes to others as well, as so many people are. But while others abandon their spouses or cheat on them, we confessed these attractions to each other and acted on them with each other's support."

"Okay," Chloe gulped. Her mouth became incredibly dry. "So… You brought home your lovers, and the neighbours saw it?"

"Yes, something like this. But there was more to it than that. We also shared our lovers. Women and men. We didn't want to leave each other out. We wanted to share these moments. To luxuriate in these affairs together. And we made no secret of these habits neither asked our lovers to do so. In fact, as some of them spread the word about our lifestyle, we were approached by several co-workers and people in our community who wanted to sleep with us. If the attraction was mutual, we were in. But as I told you, some of the neighbours disapproved of this."

"Maybe they were envious for not being invited for the fun," Lucifer smirked. Chloe poked him with her elbow.

"Thank you for this information, Mrs Skalbeck. We will need the names of these neighbours and we will speak with them. However, what you told me expands the circle of suspects. The perpetrator could be one of your jealous lovers or their jilted spouses."

"No, it's impossible," the woman shook her head vehemently. "We ensured that they wouldn't begin to be attached to us, and neither would we be attached to them. We made it clear to them from the beginning that this would be a casual thing. And in most cases, it was only one night. It only happened a few times that we slept with the same person two or three times. But that was enough in all cases to cease the attraction. To get them out of our system."

"And what about the angry spouses?" Chloe asked.

"We only approached singles. And when a married man or woman wanted to sleep with us, we made it clear that we need his or her spouse to join. We could avoid all the hard feelings by keeping these rules."

"Ooh, threesomes and foursomes…they can be so entertaining," Lucifer gushed.

Chloe rolled her eyes and stepped on his foot discretely.

"Thank you for sharing these details, Mrs Skalbeck. We are going to speak with the neighbours, but we will need a list of those you slept with in the last eight weeks and those you slept with more than one occasion as well to be sure that none of them could be the killer," she said and she pulled out her notepad from the pocket of her jacket.

The woman nodded and told them the names of the lovers and the disapproving neighbours. After Chloe expressed her deepest condolences, she grabbed Lucifer's arm and dragged him out of the kitchen before he could have any more innuendos. The truth was, she kept thinking about the things Mrs Skalbeck told them and her mind kept replaying the details of her dream at the same time. Is it really possible to make this work? No. She shouldn't think about it. She needed to clear her head. She stormed out of the house with Lucifer in tow.

"Detective! What's the rush?" Lucifer asked when he finally caught up with her.

"Rush? What rush?" she asked back as she opened her car's door and sat behind the wheel. "I just want to go back to the precinct in time to start the interrogations. We have to go through this list and also the husband's incoming and outgoing calls and messages from the last weeks. And this may take some time."

"Then let's start with the lovers and the neighbours. I bet it won't be boring," Lucifer grinned and looked at her expectantly. "Besides, this is the best lead so far."

She started the engine and sighed. Starting with the lovers wouldn't help to clear her head, but it was the logical option. Analyzing the phone calls would be more time consuming and they had already received a list of the lovers and neighbours, which was indeed the most promising lead so far. It seemed that many of their lovers were working at SkyFly-Tech Solutions. Since it was working hours it seemed easy to reach them first.

"Fine," she said and headed to SkyFly-Tech Solutions. "We'll start with the co-workers while Ella checks his calls and messages and Dan calls the suspicious neighbours to the precinct."
