This is the start of a new story called Nier Metallum. The only thing I will confirm is that it takes place after the events of Metal Ga Kill.
The weapons that Raiden will have at the start of this story is his sword and his teigu Adramalech.
Chapter 1 A blur
(City Ruins)
Among the walls of a damaged building. A single individual is struggling to continue his movements. Every step the individual took, took a great deal of strength both to make the necessary movement or because the person is in a great deal of pain. After a few minutes, the individual managed to get into view of the moonlight and looked at his reflection on a puddle of water. The individual is Raiden, and as he looked, he saw that his armor suit is badly damaged, his gauntlet teigu Adramelech looks worn out. While his sword has various cracks. It's fortunate that his sword is still able to maintain its form and structure. But the damage that's been done to it makes it clear that until its repaired, it will not be at full strength. While also being one good hit away from being destroyed.
"Where the hell did these machines come from?" Raiden said before several blasts of energy started to head towards him.
Once Raiden saw the energy blasts, he quickly rolled to the side in order to avoid being hit. After he avoided the energy blasts, Raiden noticed several animal-like machines running towards him at an intense speed. Not having the energy to perform another dodge roll. Raiden proceeded to run towards the machines and quickly cut them down at an intense speed. After Raiden cut the animal machines down. He noticed a shadow beneath him getting smaller and when he looked up. He saw a figure making a motion to stomp on him at an intense speed.
Before the machine could land, Raiden charged up his gauntlet teigu and hit the machine with a powerful thnderblast. As a result the machine was destroyed, however before Raiden could do anything further. A large machine hand was able to grab Raiden and tossed him to the side and through a nearby building. Fortunately, Raiden was able to recover from being thrown through a building. But once he activated his sensors, he started to realized that he starting to get overwhelmed by the numerous machines. Making things worse is that Raiden has extensive injuries and he can't remember how he got them. The only thing he remembers is an explosive light.
Not wanting to dwell on things further, Raiden decided to go for the nearest exit so he can get away from the many machines and try to get his bearings. Though before Raiden could go too far, several machines made their way into the building and tried to attack Raiden. Reacting quickly, Raiden was able to avoid the attacks of several machines. But was unable to maintain his footing due to his injuries and fatigue. Both of which Raiden couldn't remember how they happened. Before Raiden could attack the nearby machines, a goliath-Biped machine was able to suddenly smack Raiden down on the ground.
Raiden tried to get back up so he can fight back. But before he could, The large machine continued to pummel Raiden and continued to hurt him faster than he could recover. After enduring the punch barrage for a few more seconds, Raiden was able to muster up a single blast from his teigu and destroyed the machine that was attacking him. After the machine was destroyed. Raiden struggled to stand up, but quickly realized that he's surrounded by the machines. Each of the machines held an vicious look in their eyes. Making it clear that they intend to kill Raiden.
"Damn, if only I was at full strength. Then these tin cans won't be any problem and I can cut through them with ease. How the hell did I get injured like this, all I remember is an explosion but that's it. Well, I supposed it doesn't matter now. Since I'm going to die, I'm going to take some of these tin cans with me." Raiden thought to himself as he took up a stance and prepared for the worse.
While Raiden was distracted with the thoughts of his final moments. One of the machines was able to get close to him and made an attempt to attack him. Though before Raiden could react, a figure jumped between Raiden and the machine and proceeded to cut the machine down in a blinding speed.
In a few seconds, the many machines that surrounded Raiden. Started to quickly be destroyed. Once all of the machines in the area was destroyed A lone individual started to approach Raiden. When Raiden looked at the individual, he saw a female wearing a blindfold and is in black clothes. Raiden wanted to ask the woman questions, but the female started speaking first.
"The machines have increased their activities on your location. Where is your designated pod and tell me what happened?" The female said to Raiden before more figures started to approach the two. When Raiden looked at the increasing number of people that were approaching them. He saw that more of them were females and each of them were accompanied by what appeared to be a flying pod of sorts. Raiden didn't like being questioned like this. But the fact that he was severely injured with no memory of how he could get like this. He didn't have the strength to argue. Besides, the female and her allies save him from the machines and that had to count for something.
"I don't know have a designated pod and I don't remember what happened before I got here. The only thing I remember for certain is a burst of light. I can't even remember how I got hurt so badly." Raiden answered as his regeneration was kicking in but at a slow rate.
"Give him a quick scan him to check the extent of the damages to his system." The female said in a commanding tone
"Understood." The other female said before she started to look over Raiden. After a few seconds were spent running several scans. The other female that were doing the scan had a shocked look on her face. Despite also wearing the blindfold like her associate. When Raiden noticed this, he was curious as to what was going on. But before he could say anything, the woman that did the scan spoke up.
"Ma'am, I'm able to detect a faint signal from him. But they are coming from what appears to be nanomachines and cybernetic enhancements. 75% of his body has been heavily augmented. From my readings, its as if his body has merged with cybernetic technology." The Female told her ally causing the woman to have a surprised look this time.
"Run your scan's again, this is clearly an android with some obvious system issues. We need to find out the problem before we take him back to HQ." The first female told her ally
"I've ran the scan repeatedly and there is nothing different from what my scanners are picking up. To be honest, I'm surprised we're able to get this faint signal I'm picking up. Because these signal readings is obsolete. Not to mention that a good portion of his body is organic." The second female said causing the first female to run a quick scan herself.
"It can't be, if this is accurate then that means . . ." The lead female said as she looked at Raiden further. After thinking for aa few seconds, she decided to speak to another one of her subordinates.
"Contact the commander immediately, there's a human here away from the moon base. The Council of Humanity will need to know about this." The commanding female said as her subordinates started to send a transmission.
"Who is this commander that your . . . ." Raiden proceeded to ask before he fell down. After he fell, the nearby women went to check on him
"What's wrong with him?" The commanding female asked while her subordinate scanned Raiden
"He's still alive but he's suffering through fatigue. But he requires immediate medical attention." The subordinate told her team leader
"Anemone and the resistant group is in the city. Since we can't take him to the rest of the humans on the moon. The resistance camp should have the medical equipment needed to give him proper treatment." The commanding woman told her subordinate
"But all the humans are on mars, there's nobody on earth who has the proper equipment to give a human medical treatment." The woman told her commander
"If this human dies under our watch, then the Council of Humanity as well as all of YORHA will have our heads. The least we can do is give him the best treatment we can. The Commander will know what to do." The commanding Female told her subordinate
"Understood 9O." The subordinate said before the rest of the females proceeded to lift Raiden up.
(The Command Center)
The Commander of the YORHA androids spends a great deal of her time overseeing operations that pertains to both the overall stability of the organization and to the well being of the androids. As the commander was going over the many reports she has. Pertaining to the machines that's on earth and reading the many plans required to deal with them. She received an emergency transmission and decided to answer it. When she did, she saw that it was one of the android operatives.
"Ma'am, this is operative 9O. There's been an urgent development when me and my team went to the location where many of the machines have gathered. My team, including myself were able to successfully destroy the machines in the area. Yet in the process, we came across a lone individual. When 12S scanned the individual, the signal we detected we significantly different from the other YORHA androids. After scanning the individual further. We can fully confirm that the individual is a human." 9O reported to the commander causing her to be slightly surprised at this but didn't let it show on her face or body
"Tell me, what's the current condition that the human is in 9O?" The YORHA Commander asked the operative
The human is stable at the moment. But without proper equipment and care that can change. Right now he is at the resistance camp undergoing treatment with what they have." 9O reported to the commander
"I see." The commander said before 9O spoke further
"Ma'am, I thought that all the humans are safely on the moon. We asked him how he got to the city but he couldn't remember anything." 9O explained further t the commander
"I thought so too, the Council of Humanity will be very interested in this detail. We don't have any equipment that can treat humans. But given the circumstances we'll have to make due and hope for the best. After I give my report to the Council, more equipment will be sent to aid in the Human's recover. I'll oversee treatment personally." The Commander told 9O
"Thank you ma'am, glory to Mankind." 9O said before the transmission was cut off. After the transmission was cut off, the Commander was in deep thought.
(The Resistance Camp)
Everything became pitch black since Raiden fell unconscious near all those women after they helped him with those machines. Raiden felt ashamed of the fact that he was in such a sorry state. Especially since under most under circumstances, Raiden can make all of those machines scrap metal with relative ease. But the problem is that he was severely injured and his healing functions didn't have the chance to be fully used. Adding more confusion on top of his questions, is that he can't recall for the life of him what happened that led to him getting injured so severely like that. As Raiden was in deep thought about his current predicament. He was listening to various voices that seemed muffled. Fortunately, when Raiden focused on the conversation.
"Are you certain the machines were attacking him?" A female voice said in a tone that has authority
"Yes Commander, though the man was able to hold his own. It's clear that if not for our interference. There is a decent chance that he would have died. After the encounter with the machines. We've thoroughly scanned his body and can fully confirmation that he is indeed a human. Though his body has received many enhancements, there is no doubt that he is a human. Do you know if the Council of Humanity will order for him to come to the moon?" Another female said to the person who is likely the commander
"The Council is deliberating on how to deal with him as we speak. But with everything going on with the machines. It doesn't look like transportation can be arranged for him to be with the other humans. I suspect the deliberation is going to take a good deal of time. So until then he's going to have to stay here with the Resistance." The Commander said while Raiden listened in as he was slowly gaining control of his body
"Council of Humanity?" Raiden thought as he started to slowly move his body and regained control
"O4 hasn't returned with the results of the DNA read she's done. So its going to be some time before we can learn of his identity." The subordinate told the Commander
"I see, once his identity is confirmed we'll figure out how to proceed from here." The Commander told her subordinate while Raiden was starting to regain the strength to open his eyes
As Raiden's eyes were barely opened, he noticed that he was inside a pod of some kind. When he looked around further, he noticed that he was enveloped in a strange light that was making his healing functions stronger. He also noticed that both his teigu and his sword weren't near him and he still couldn't remember how he got injured the way he did. Though after a few more minutes have passed, Raiden's strength started to return and before he could do anything at all. The pod that Raiden was in started to raise an alarm. Before anything happened further, Raiden was able to break out of the pod with a good deal of his strength.
Once Raiden broke out of the pod, he looked around the area and noticed that he is surrounded by many females who are dressed in various outfits. As Raiden looked at the women, each of them armed themselves with various weapons and aimed them at Raiden. Since Raiden's body was fully healed, he knew that he was fully capable of fighting against the women if it came to that. Though before anyone could do anything, a woman in white stepped forward and started to approach Raiden.
From Raiden's years of experience in the military and on the battlefield. He was able to quickly notice that the woman has a good deal of authority among the female warriors. The woman in white walked with a good deal of poise and elegance. She was also on guard and showed no hints of fear when approaching Raiden. When the woman got close, she observed Raiden for a few seconds. After that the woman started to speak.
"I see, I have no doubt in my mind that you are a human. Now the only question that remains is who you are." The Commander said while looking at Raiden before he spoke
"Who are you guys and where am I? Or better yet, where are my weapons?" Raiden asked in a curious tone while on guard
"Fair enough, to answer your first question. I am the Commander and I am in charge of commanding and directing the soldiers of YorHa. We follow orders from the Council of Humanity with our primary objective being to destroy all current threats. So that the earth can be reclaimed by humanity." Commander White calmly told Raiden
"YorHa, is that some kind of PMC group? If that's the case, what country are you guys affiliated with?" Raiden asked while on guard
"We are not a simple PMC group. YorHa is a military organization composed entirely of androids that follow the orders of the Council of Humanity. The threats we face are not like anything your accustomed to. The machines you've fought several hours ago are alien life-forms that are responsible for Humanities exile from this planet." The Commander briefly explained to Raiden causing him to laugh for a moment
"Wait a second . . . . alien life-forms, Council of Humanity, and an army of androids. Did I stumble on a very convincing sci-fi movie set? Or is this an elaborate training exercise for a military branch that I stumbled across?" Raiden asked in a tone that is a mix of mocking and disbelief
"I do understand why you find it hard to believe the things I'm telling you. But it's the truth. One of my other operatives have told me that you've had a run in with a swarm of the machines. If no for the YorHa soldiers, you would have been killed." The Commander told Raiden
"The only reason that those machines gave me trouble is because I was in a terrible condition. A condition that I have no memory of. For all I know you guys could have been the ones to have hurt me." Raiden quickly responded to the YorHa Commander
"We both know that we weren't the ones who hurt you. Because if we did hurt you, we wouldn't have gone out of our way to heal you." The Commander told Raiden
"Alright, good point, but since you and your androids work for the Council of Humanity. How about I get in contact with the Council? You can all clearly see that I'm a human with a lot of enhancements. So it would make sense that I contact the other humans. I don't know where I am and I need to know everything that's going on. I don't even have a clear memory on where I came from." Raiden told the Commander in a anxious tone causing her to shake her head
"Unfortunately, you won't be able to contact the Council. Even though you are considered a special case because you are a human. The capabilities of the alien Machines requires us to take extreme precautions to protect the remaining humans on the moon. Therefore I am the only one who is able to communicate with them. Just me being here on earth away from the station is already inviting risks. Besides, from the analysis we've done on your body. We see that your body has various enhancements including an obsolete comm system. It would require too much time and risk for us to properly integrate you into our network." The Commander told Raiden explaining why he can't get in contact with the Council.
"So what am I supposed to do in the meantime? Since I don't have any memory of coming here. I need to figure a few things out and I hate working blind." Raiden told the Commander
"Though we can't completely integrate you to our system. There are a couple of things we can do to ensure you won't be alone while we try to sort all this out. For starters, we've set up several station terminals around the city. When you connect to the terminal, you'll be in direct communication with me while I'm in the Bunker. It will also give me a chance to relay information from the Council to you and give you necessary updates." The Commander answered Raiden
"That answers some of my questions of communication. But what about my other concerns?" Raiden asked
"There are many operatives on earth fighting the alien life forms so earth can be reclaimed for Humanity. So until we can figure out what to do with you for the long term. You can work with some of YorHa's operatives. We've even repaired the weapons you've possessed while you were in the healing capsule." The Commander said before one of the operatives returned Raiden's weapons.
When Raiden took a look at his returned weapons, he was happy to be reunited with familiar equipment. He saw that his sword has been repaired and refined. When he looked at his gauntlet teigu Adramalech. He saw that the cracks from earlier has been fixed and it looked good as new. Looking at these two made Raiden's head hurt, as if he was trying to remember something. But every time he tries to remember, he would just get an intense migraine. Which did not go unnoticed by the Commander and the other androids.
"Is there a problem?" The Commander asked while giving Raiden a focused look
"There's no problem, I'm just admiring the quality work you've done restoring my weapons. With me back at top condition and my weapons fully repaired. Those machines won't stand a chance against me." Raiden said as he was equipping his sword and gauntlets
"With your enthusiasm, can I assume that you'll work with my operatives until we can figure things out?" The Commander asked Raiden
"Seeing as though I don't have anything better to do. I supposed there's no harm in working with you guys. Besides, you guys are fighting to make sure my fellow humans can return to earth. It's only fair I fight to contribute to that. At lest until I can figure out what to do." Raiden said giving the Commander his answer
"Excellent, due to your circumstances. It will be best that you remain here in the Resistance Camp answering to Anemone who is in charge of the Camp. This will be until the arrangements are made with the units." The Commander told Raiden before she proceeded to make her way to the terminal. Before the Commander entered, she turned to Raiden
"As of this moment, consider yourself part of the fight against the Alien Machine Life-Form. Welcome to YorHa Raiden." The Commander told Raiden before she fully went into the terminal
"Thanks for the welcome." Raiden said as he turned to another one of the androids that was starting to approach him
"As the Commander have told you. I am the leader of the Resistance Camp. I am Anemone and until the Commander and by extension YorHa finalizes the arrangements for you. You'll work with the Resistance until the Commander sends in the units that you'll be working with." Anemone briefly explained to Raiden
"Thanks for having me here despite the unusual circumstances. Is there anything you need me to do?" Raiden asked the Leader
"We have nothing for you to do at the moment. But one of the other members of the resistance can show you around the city. So that once you do some actual work, you won't be completely blind. How do you feel about escort missions?" Anemone asked Raiden
"As long as the nobody runs off I have no problem with them." Raiden answered before another female android approached the two who appears to be wearing something similar to a desert attire
"Allow me to make the introductions. Her name is Jackass and she will be both your guide and the subject of your first mission from us. Jackass needs to get to the desert for a special assignment. However, as her name suggest she does destructive things that teeters on recklessness." Anemone briefly explained to Raiden
"Sounds like my kind of style." Raiden commented causing Jackass to snicker
"Finally, a kindred spirit." Jackass said before Anemone continued
"But the machines have been on high alert and the resistance members are already stretched thin. With a good number of them still undergoing repairs from the previous machine attacks. Raiden, I need you to make sure she gets to the desert and meet up with the other Resistance members there. Once Jackass is set up, return here to the camp. Even though your system is obsolete. We were able to digitally install a map and navpoint function to your system. So the escort and return shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I'm honestly surprised that a human has so many technological systems integrated into their body." Anemone said after Raiden received the data installation
"I'm not like most humans, but that's already a long and complicated story." Raiden said before he reached the entrance with Jackass
"You ready to go?" Raiden asked after confirming that he still has his sword and gauntlets
"Yep." Jackass said before the two left for the desert
(The Bunker)
Once the Commander of YorHa has returned to the Bunker. She started to go over the files she has in great detail. Which also includes the result of the analysis that was acquired from the blood analysis made from Raiden. When the Commander looked over the files, she learned a great deal about Raiden's past. Including the stuff that was marked as classified. It didn't take long for the Commander to learn about Raiden's past. Including the details about how many enhancements Raiden has received. Though the a report that has gotten more of her attention. Is the one the mentions that Raiden has mysteriously disappeared. Yet the details related to the time of his disappearance has been lost. Seeing all of this made the Commander think about a lot of ways to deal with Raiden and ultimately came to a decision. After coming to a decision, the Commander opened up a communication channel.
"A human has recently been discovered on earth. However, he has received a good deal of enhancements and alterations that can easily pass him off as an android. Which establishes a loophole regarding certain decisions on what to do with him. I want a report on everything he does." The Commander told the operative through the channel
"Understood." The Operative told the Commander before the communication channel was cut off.

The reason the story starts with Raiden severely injured with no memory of how he ended up in the world of Nier Automota is a major spoiler but will be addressed in a future chapter.
Also the rating for this story is going to be T for teen. I might make it into an M rating depending on both how I continue to write the story and the responses I get to the story.
