Sup guys? Time for another story. This one is about RWBY. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own RWBY or Halo. Monty Oum, Microsoft, 343.
Spartans… The spear of humanity. The best soldiers the human race could produce. They were more lethal than the UNSC's massive fleet. More precise than ODSTs.
And now one had vanished, one of the 500 Spartan IVs aboard the UNSC Infinity had vanished.
"You're telling me a Forerunner portal…" Sarah Palmer asked the one woman who she hated to no end. "Just sucked up one of mine and an entire frigate?" Palmer asked which was met with the former ONI scientist rolling her eyes.
"As I said before?" Halsey asked, her voice sounding as tired as a warthog without gas. "YES, their armor signature along with several Covenant Cruisers vanished. I told you not to send anyone in to secure the relic. I don't see them anywhere on Requiem… Curious." Halsey said as Palmer went to say something.
She could say nothing, knowing one of her soldiers could handle their own.
But if they weren't on Requiem? Where the hell in this damned galaxy were they?
(Unknown Location)
The Spartan grabbed at his SAW which fell into the snow, holding an M395 DMR which he was quick to place on his back.
He blinked in confusion at this. The mission was to clear out Covenant forces and extract a Forerunner artifact the Covenant were toying with.
He had been neutralizing their forces easily before the relic had activated. Either the relic had sent him to another part of Requiem… Or he wasn't on the planet at the moment.
"Infinity, this is Spartan Leo Cerule… Is anyone there?" Leo questioned over his comm line. Static greeted him as he raised his gun.
"Hmm…" Leo muttered as he sighed and checked his motion scanner.
At the very least? His cerulean blue Centurion armor gave him camouflage in this featureless tundra. He almost wondered if he was just curious if this was a dream. Forerunner tech was known to be unpredictable according to the UNSC's scientists… Not that he knew much about it.
A cold wind blew past his helmeted face. It would have frozen a regular human solid… But not only were Spartans the furthest thing from normal humans around? But their armor enhanced them beyond that.
"UNSC Gambit." Leo got static from the sub vessel as well. "Barings, terrain…" Leo stated to himself and moved forward.
This wasn't his first mission, nor was it something he was unaccustomed to. He knew his training, what to do… All he needed to know was where the hell he was.
He kept his SAW ready, most Spartans used battle rifles, DMRs, assault rifles. Leo prepared the SAW, it had stopping power, a massive magazine…
A phantom flew overhead, it snapped him out of his thoughts. The covenant was here, and his first thought was to neutralize their forces.
And the best way to accomplish that? Was to get his surroundings. Leo set out into the blizzard, keeping his gun ready. He was far more interested in the relic than the covenant.
Covenant could be solved with combat, relics that displaced entire locations could not. His motion tracker began working once more, his armor systems rebooting as the Spartan-IV slowly moved through the snow and sleet.
The cold tried to gnaw at his armor, but it did nothing. He was laser-focused on hunting…. And right now? That meant finding the Gambit that he was supporting before being sent to this location at the moment.
Still? He'd accomplish nothing unless he found the ship to begin with. This location was far more interesting wherever he was before.
"The commander is going to have my head sooner or later," Leo muttered as he readied his weapon. "Where the hell am I, anyway?" Leo asked as he marched in direction of the Phantoms.
That question would go unanswered for a moment. He just didn't know that; how could a Spartan know something that wasn't in his wheelhouse? He was a soldier, not a scientist, nor a researcher or engineer.
Leo prepared himself for a fight as another ship roared overhead. He checked his SAW and made sure he had backup magazines in case he needed them.
Little did he know that this world held more wonders to him than he currently chose to believe. It would be his home.
