Hello, fellow readers! Yep, another spur of the moment! However, this one is gonna be rather experimental. Yes this is another EG story again, but with a twist!

I'm setting this during the events of KH2 Final Mix, giving it the two-visit treatment. First visit is based on the first movie, second visit is based on Rainbow Rocks.

As for when in KH2, I looked at the theater menu to match this up... This will take place after the first visits and before 100 Acre Woods. This will also help me get proper practice for the trio's dynamic, since my previous stories couldn't take advantage of that.

Now while this takes place during the EG movies, I'm gonna rework elements from said movies to match it with the KH theme. With that said, let's rock!

EDIT: I have decided to have this story dedicated to Sora getting into Smash! The original story that was will be changed to something else, for personal reasons. Thank you!

Visit 1-1: Dark Sun

The trio arrive at their next destination as their ship teleports them to the courtyard of a high school. The three scan the area to find it rather... normal?

Sora tries to come up with a polite way to put it, "Not gonna lie, this is..."

"Bland?" Donald finishes for him.

"Kind of, but ya never know." Goofy chimes in, "There's always more than meets the eye."

"Good point. Let's check it out." Sora agrees.

The three enter into the foyer and saw that it was indeed a school. Specifically, a high school with lockers adorning the halls, interconnected into two floors worth of classrooms and more. It was rather empty, but Sora can guess it's likely cause class is in session.

"Why didn't you tell her the crown was yours and ask for it back?" The three heard a voice coming from one of the halls.

"Oh, I was going to." Another voice answers, revealing themselves as a human upon walking into the foyer.

Though, this human wasn't like Sora. She was rather colorful by appearance alone, along with having a puppy in her backpack that she was... talking to?

She had pale orchid skin, violet eyes, and dark sapphire hair in a ponytail with two streaks colored purple and raspberry respectively. She wore a light blue blouse with a pink bow under a purple jacket, a dark blue backpack, a purple skirt with a six-sided star on it, blue leggings underneath, and purple ankle-high boots.

"But then, I imagined what if they came to Equestria, and said they came from a world with tall figures and THESE? We think they were crazy!"

They watch her do weird gestures while explaining this before the puppy spoke:

"Good point. Then, how are you gonna get it?"

"I'm gonna have to run for Fall Formal Princess!"

"...How?"

"...I have no idea!"

The trio wasn't sure on what just happened, but it sounds like a problem. So, they do what they do best.

"Excuse us." Sora calls out.

The two realized they weren't alone, if the expressions weren't a dead giveaway.

"Sorry for eavesdropping miss, but what about this crown of yours?" Goofy mentions.

"Uh..." Her mind was still processing what she was seeing.

"Guess I'm not the strangest one here now." The pup points out.

Sora decides to give introductions, "I'm Sora, he's Donald and he's Goofy."

The pup returns in kind, "I'm Spike, and this is Twilight Sparkle."

"...Duck... Dog... Here?" She utters.

"From here? Nope, we're from somewhere else too."

Now she was intrigued, "Wait, are you... from Equestria by chance?"

"Is that what this world called?" Goofy wonders.

Before Twilight can ask for clarity, she sees something move at the corner of her eye. "What's that!?"

The three follow her gaze to see a familiar sight:

"Heartless! Take cover!" Sora orders her, which she does.

He summons his keyblade as Donald and Goofy summon their weapons, ready to fight.

It was a simple swarm of Shadow heartless paired with a few Soldiers, easy to take on. The Shadows immediately went in the floor as the Soldiers charge in, one attacking from above that Sora sidesteps and smacks away.

Donald calls upon bolts of lightning, stunning the other Soldiers as Goofy follows up with tossing his shield to bounce it between them. The stray Soldier tries to hit Sora again, only to miss and get swiftly countered with a fatal slash. The Shadows that were hiding emerge to attack, but he's quick enough to knock them away one by one.

Goofy calls back his shield in time for Donald to cast Blizzard, freezing said Solders before the former charges in by sliding on said shield. The knockback on contact sent them flying to the latter, who uses Fire to surround himself and burn them away.

"Gather!"

Sora uses a Magnet spell, gathering the Shadows before casting Thunder to strike them down. Upon doing so, a smaller wave of Heartless appears that consists of five Neoshadows. Donald and Goofy group back up with him as the Neoshadows attack.

Twilight and Spike were watching from afar, seeing them perform such feats they didn't expect from somewhere without magic. Those 'Heartless' they're seeing are rather creepy-looking, like something they would imagine from Tartarus.

"Donald!" Sora calls, signaling a Limit with his partner.

The court mage floats in the air as a burst of fireworks hit the creatures, stunning them to allow free hits for Sora. The two watch as they combine the fireworks with swift swings to juggle them. Sora then swats them away just as Donald finishes with a ring of fireworks, defeating the Heartless in style.

"All right!" Sora cheers, high-fiving his friends in celebration before realizing something.

They caused quite a commotion during the fight, likely not hearing the bell ring to signal the end of classes. Several students saw what happened with some recording on their phones before hearing someone call out:

"What's going on here!?"

Twilight recognizes Principal Celestia with someone walking beside her, most likely her sister Luna, going through the crowd. Upon exiting it, they see the strange trio and had the same question as everyone else:

"Who are you three?"

Unbeknownst to any of them, a certain student saw what happened and grew quite curious at the new arrivals.

Sora, Donald and Goofy were called into the principal's office to discuss what has occurred. Thanks to some students, they saw the fight with the Heartless and in turn what they are about.

"So, these Heartless are capable of destroying worlds..."

"Yeah."

"The keyblade is a sentient weapon that combats this threat..."

"Uh-huh."

"And you three are traveling the worlds to find your missing friends?"

"Yes, ma'am."

Vice Principal Luna takes a deep breath before admitting, "If the students didn't record it, I think you're crazy."

Sora puts his hands behind his head with a chuckle, "It does sound pretty crazy..."

"It's a good thing we showed up when we did." Goofy chimes in.

Principal Celestia listened to their story and wonders one thing, "Why do these Heartless attack worlds?"

"It's a bit... complicated." Donald admits.

"Heartless go after people's hearts. A world have something similar to a 'heart' they can take. By using the keyblade, I can lock it so they won't get to it." Sora explains.

"I see..." Celestia mutters before continuing, "You three, may I ask you something?"

The three simply nod and listen intently to her words:

"I have no reason to believe you're lying. Clearly, you're quite honest about your intentions as you could have passed by without notice. But... would you believe that this isn't the first time we heard of this happening?"

The three were taken aback by this info as Luna goes on to clarify:

"Apparently, Starswirl encountered someone with a magical key on his travels, though it differs depending on where you look. Some sources say that the wielder was a peaceful one, enjoying the world's wonders. Other sources say that the wielder was a wild card, creating chaos wherever he went."

"Both stories end with the wielder disappearing without a trace." Celestia adds, "Back to the topic at hand, I request that you prioritize the safety of our students. I don't want them caught in the crossfire."

"Of course." Sora wasn't hesitant with his response.

Donald and Goofy agreed, giving her a feeling of relief. "Thank you. You're dismissed."

The three got up to their feet before they heard a stomach growl. The principals were curious as to who, which turns out to be Sora:

"Guess I skipped a meal. Mind if we use your cafeteria?"

The three arrive at said cafeteria, seeing the students eating and hanging out within their groups as they headed for the food. Once they got a tray of food for themselves, plus an apple from the lunch lady, they see Twilight walking with another girl to a table:

"That's the one not from here, right?" Sora recalls.

"Yup. I wonder who's her friend." Goofy wonders.

"Maybe someone like her?" Donald suggests.

"Let's go see."

The trio approach them upon hearing Twilight's comment, "Why is everypony-"

Her pup Spike briefly pops out to smack her head for her mistake, which she corrects:

"I mean everybody, separated this way?"

They sat down at the table as her friend answers, "I'm not sure how it was at your old school, but we stick to our kind here. But one thing's certain, Sunset Shimmer is gonna rule this school until we graduate."

"Not if I can help it!" Twilight declares before chewing on her apple.

The trio wasn't sure what they walked in on, but her chewing on the apple itself was weird. She notices the confusion on her friend's face before holding it properly, which Sora finally chimes in:

"Hey, Twilight."

With a small yelp, she finally notices the trio as they sat down with them:

"H-Hi. From earlier, right?"

"Yep. We didn't finish our conversation from before. That and we were hungry."

"YOU were hungry." Donald corrects him.

"He skipped a meal, so we're taking a break." Goofy clarifies.

"I see." Twilight then notices her friend Fluttershy, who was stunned at the sight before her. "Oh, this is my friend Fluttershy. Fluttershy, this is Sora, Donald, and Goofy."

The three wave at her, which she slowly waves back due to still processing the sight.

Upon a closer look, they saw that she had opal eyes, pale olive skin, light magenta eyeshadow and long pale rose hair that held a butterfly brooch in it. She wore a pink jacket, a yellow backpack, a green dress with three pink butterflies on the skirt, and equally green shoes with pink stockings.

"She likes animals, so seeing talking ones are basically a dream come true."

"Oh, she knows about Spike!?" Sora casually points out.

Fluttershy glares at her in response, giving away that she didn't.

"Or not." Sora nervously chuckles, "Sorry."

The bell rings to signal the end of lunch, allowing the students to wander the halls in the meantime. After answering some questions Fluttershy really wanted to know, Twilight asked where the party committee was and starts heading there.

Though, one thing was on her mind right now. In fact three things, being the trio following her right now:

"Why are you following me exactly?"

"Whenever we visit worlds, there's always a problem happening." Sora answers, "Since it usually includes the heartless too, we help solve it before they find the keyhole first."

"Oh, that's what I forgot!" Goofy chimes in, "Didn't you say your crown was stolen?"

Since there's no one else around, she may as well tell them the truth:

"Yes. I'm not from this world, but instead a parallel world named Equestria. I was visiting the Crystal Empire, where my brother and sister-in-law rule, for my very first 'Princess Summit'. That night, Sunset came through a magic mirror to steal my crown."

"And that's the 'Sunset Shimmer' Fluttershy was talking about?" Donald asks her.

"Yes, and apparently she rules this school with an iron hoof."

Sora catches something at the corner of his eye to see three portraits on the hall wall, "Is this her?"

The others follow his gaze to said portraits. Twilight recognizes the fiery-haired girl, dressed up and wearing a crown in each one.

"Yeah, that's her all right." She then reads the labels on the portraits, "Fall Formal... Winter Wonderland... Spring Fling. These must be those contests she won."

While they showed quite a progression, Sora finds himself focused on the first one. If she's the 'ruler' of the school, then why does she look so genuine here? What caused such a change?

"She used to be Princess Celestia's student before becoming cruel and dishonest, eventually leaving to this world. She hoped that she would have changed, but that's clearly not the case."

"Why did she change?" Sora wonders.

"From what I was told, she wasn't getting what she wanted from her studies."

"Sounds pretty petty to me." Donald comments.

"Anyways, we need to find the gym."

The four soon found said gym, entering to see it decorated for the Fall Formal already. It was quite nice, streamers in the rafters, balloons by the stage, Heartless on the table- wait!

Sora, Donald and Goofy quickly summon their weapons as Twilight takes cover, ready to take on the sudden horde. There were a couple of Soldiers around a Large Body as they start to spread, instead going after the decorations.

"Huh?" The three were confused, but quickly focused back into battle.

The keyblade wielder knocks a Soldier away from some balloons, making it retaliate by leaping back with a flying kick. He sidesteps the attack, swiftly dashes into the enemy soon after with a combo to take it out.

The court mage calls down bolts of lightning, briefly stopping three Solders in front of him before leaping over a shockwave from the Large Body. The knight captain smacks his shield in its back, distracting it from Donald who had his wings full with the Soldiers.

Sora was chasing down two other Soldiers who were running across the tables, taking a swing at every chance only to barely miss them. He fires a Blizzard shot to freeze them, only hitting one as the other dodged it. Taking out the frozen one, he quickly dodges a surprise leap from the other Soldier and swiftly counters it with a leaping swing.

Looking to see how the others are doing, Donald had dealt with his enemies and was helping Goofy with the Large Body. Using Quick Run to close the distance, he lands three slashes on the back before it went berserk.

Goofy was prepared though, holding his shield up as it charges on its belly. He braces for impact, barely budging while the heartless was spinning and dazed. Sora takes this chance to wind up and smacks the heartless back home with a baseball swing.

Looking around for anymore, they saw that the coast was now clear. Unfortunately, most of the decorations were damaged in the battle.

"Why!? They were innocent!"

The three look to see another student come out from backstage, saddened by the destruction. Twilight comes out of cover and recognizes the student:

"Pinkie Pie?"

The student shifts from sadness to surprise instantly, suddenly popping up next to her. "How'd you know!? Are you psychic!?"

"N-No, I don't think so! Unless it's something you do here?"

"Not usually."

The trio raises an eyebrow as they saw her appearance. She had pale cerulean eyes, light pink skin and rather puffy rosy pink hair. She wore a pink sweater with three balloons on the front, two blue with the middle yellow, white pants, and pink boots with white laces.

Upon seeing them, she loudly gasps and points:

"Ohmigosh, it's you three!"

"Us?" Sora repeats.

"Yeah, the fighters from the video posted today!" She pulls out her phone, showing them a video of the Heartless fight from earlier. "Everyone at school is talking about it! It went viral so fast!"

"Oh... great?" The three weren't sure how to feel about that before Twilight changes the topic:

"So, you are the head of the party committee?"

"Yup! Let me guess..." Pinkie rubs her head a bit before pointing at her, "You want to sign up for Fall Formal Princess!?"

"Yeah, I guess Fluttershy told you already?"

The party girl's face turns sour at that name, "Fluttershy, huh? Don't let the 'shy' part fool you, she can be pretty mean."

"Wait, you aren't friends?"

"Nope! By the way, are you new around here?" Pinkie suddenly brings up, "I definitely would have remembered you."

She then pops up near the trio, "And I DEFINITELY would know you guys."

"We're new in town, actually." Sora answers.

"Ooo, from where!?"

"We're travelers, miss. We've been to so many places, it's hard to keep track." Goofy chimes in.

"That's right, so-" Donald then gets interrupted by some loud noises, seeing Spike playing with a loose balloon. "Hey, knock it off!"

Pinkie sees the pup, popping another question towards Twilight. "Wait! Do you have a twin sister by chance? One that lives in the city, with a dog that looks juuust like that one?"

"...Uh, maybe?"

"Thought so. Any who..." Pinkie reaches into her hair, pulling out a clipboard and a pen. "Just write on this and you're ready to go!"

It was at this point that Twilight realizes something. She has no experience with her new body and judging by how Pinkie's holding the pen, mouth is not the main method. Luckily, she sees an alternative solution:

"Sora, can you help me with something?"

He walks over upon hearing his name, "What's up?"

"I have HORRIBLE writing and I'd rather not embarrass myself, so would you mind writing my name for me?"

"Sure." He shrugs before being handed the pen and clipboard.

As he does this, the doors to the gym open as another student enters and calls out:

"Somebody order a dozen cases of fuzzy apple cider?"

"Oh, me! Memememe!" Pinkie rapidly cheers.

The student walks in and notices the mess, "Whoa, what the hay happened in here!?"

"Those creatures from earlier today attacked, but luckily these three showed up just in time!"

The cowgirl recognizes the trio, "Well, I'll be! The heroes of the school!"

Sora finishes writing Twilight's name on the clipboard, handing it back with the pen to Pinkie as Goofy spoke up:

"It's just what we do, miss. Hyuck!"

"I think they are her bodyguards." Pinkie whispers to the cowgirl, gesturing to Twilight who she also recognizes:

"Wait, I know you."

"Uh, you do?"

"Yeah, you gave Sunset Shimmer the what-for earlier!" She clarifies while pulling out a bottle.

"The 'what-for'?" Sora wonders before noticing her appearance.

She had moderate green eyes, pale gamboge skin, and long pale olive hair. She wore a brown stetson hat, a white collared shirt that's green from shoulders to chest under a brown jacket, blue jeans with three red apples on the side of her thigh, a brown belt with a red buckle, and brown cowboy boots.

Pinkie pops in again soon after, "Guess what, AJ! Twilight's running for Fall Formal Princess!"

That made AJ do a spit take before speaking, "You should have thought twice. That Sunset will pretend to play nice-"

She stops as the group watch Pinkie float from a balloon in her mouth before she pulls her down and takes said balloon for a demonstration:

"Oh my, I sure love some competition!" 'Sunset' said.

"That's great to hear!" 'Twilight' said.

The 'Sunset' balloon turns around, revealing a nail taped to it that pops the 'Twilight' balloon.

"That's not nice." Donald comments.

"Sadly, the only person worse than her is Rainbow Dash." AJ mentions.

"Who's that?" Sora asks.

"The captain of the soccer team!" Pinkie answers while bouncing by on a balloon.

"Add 'hypocrite' to her resume too, that's what she also is." AJ adds.

Twilight was just shocked they were talking bad about someone who they should be friends with. Or, were they ever friends here? She shakes that off before speaking:

"I appreciate the advice Applejack, but I have to do this."

"Fine, suit yourself. Wait, how did you know my name was Applejack?"

Thankfully, Twilight was saved by Sora who got the initials. "Oh, that makes sense! The apples on your clothing should have gave it away!"

"Oh, guess it does. Where are my manners? Name's Applejack."

"I'm Sora, this is Donald and Goofy."

"Nice to meet ya. Thanks for helping Pinkie earlier, I owe ya."

"No problem."

Another student then enters with four more cases of apple cider, "Where do ya want... these?"

"Just put them somewhere, Big Mac!" AJ answers before remembering the mess, "It'll take all day to clean this up."

"Mind if we help out?" Sora offers, which his friends surprisingly deny:

"We have more important things to look out for!" Donald reminds him.

"We could help Sora, but those heartless can appear at anytime." Goofy agrees, "And you remember what the principal said."

"Oh right, safety of the students. Best we got going then."

"Alrighty, we'll see ya later." AJ understood, "Oh, feel free to take a couple of ciders if ya like."

Once they did, the trio took their leave with Twilight and Spike in tow as they were watched by a certain student from outside.

The group were walking down a hall that was lacking any students to find the library, by Twilight's request. Before long, they took a wrong turn and reached a dead end. It was odd too, looking to be abandoned with a broken light and even a few loose lockers.

"I thought I recognized you."

A sudden voice spoke from where they just came from, turning around to recognize the girl from the portraits. She had the same red hair with yellow streaks, light amber skin, and cyan eyes.

Though, her outfit was not a dress of any sort. She wore a black leather jacket with the design of a sun on the back matching her hair colors, a dark pink top underneath, black jeans, and black boots.

"Then again, it would make sense that you would come after my crown."

"It's MY crown!" Twilight corrects her.

"Yeah, you thief!" Sora backs her up.

"How fitting! You made friends with ones that don't belong in this world either." The group was surprised at this, which she gladly clarifies:

"I just so happened to see that fight when you arrived. Those... 'Heartless', I think they're called? Your conversation with the principals was rather informative."

"You don't seem too concerned about them." Sora points out.

"Just a minor setback, honestly. I know my way around, unlike you and the 'star student' over there."

"And you stole my crown why? You already rule this school." Twilight questions, "You don't even need magic over here!"

"Pop quiz, what happens if you bring magic to a non-magic world?" Sunset casually retorts.

Twilight couldn't answer at the moment before Donald steps in, "You're bringing that magic from the parallel world here, which you can use for yourself!"

Sunset was astonished at this, "...The DUCK knows this, but not my replacement!?"

She lets out a bellowing laugh, making them livid at such arrogance as she eventually composes herself:

"Then again, it's not like the princess could find anyone else like me. It's just sad you're the best she could find."

BARK!

A sudden bark came out as Spike pops out of Twilight's backpack, barking really viciously at Sunset.

"And you brought a pet along!? Fun fact, no animals allowed on school grounds. If found, they WILL be taken away."

"Is that a threat?" Spike growls.

"No, it's a fact." Sunset retorts, "So cut down on the chatter, it'd be no fun if you lost your only chance at MY crown."

"It's MY crown." Twilight reiterates again, making Sunset simply sigh:

"Let me be crystal clear, Twilight Sparkle. Your crown is rightfully MINE. I left the phony one in your world, that way you can play princess in a kingdom you DON'T have and NEVER WILL."

Twilight was understandably speechless as Sunset starts to walk away, only for Sora to call her out:

"You weren't always like this, Sunset!"

The school princess stops, then turns around with a smirk. "Oh really? A traveler from another world knows what I was like?"

"Just a feeling I got. You left your own world for a reason, so why did you?"

She scoffs at such sincerity, "You want to know? Fine, I'll humor you."

"I was a magical prodigy, back when I was Princess Celestia's student. I can perfect any spell you can imagine, and make it much better without effort. With my power, I could have been her equal- no, her better! But yet all I heard was..."

"You're not ready." She mockingly said in the princess's voice before shifting back to normal:

"No matter what I did, no matter how strong I became, SHE always thought I wasn't ready. It wasn't until one night, I found that magic mirror. It showed me what I could be without HER holding me back, so I left. What you see now is who I am, all I need now is my magic back."

"It doesn't mean you should be a bully!" Sora shoots back.

"...Believe what you want, kid. Not everything is a fairy tale." With that said, Sunset took her leave.

Goofy was quiet throughout the encounter, mainly to get a read on who they are up against:

"She's pretty stubborn, isn't she?"

"Yeah."

The trio then turn to Twilight, who seems to be rather conflicted:

"Was the princess that strict with her?"

Her words made them curious before she realizes they were staring, "I-I mean, let's find the library!"

She leads the way while the trio follow, now knowing the main problem of the world.

And done! This came out really well! Like, the further I went, the more ideas I got. You'll see what I mean.

This story will help me get the trio's dynamic down, but I just want an excuse to write a story involving KH2. Hope ya'll enjoy it cause I will!

By the way, I gave the main girls new outfits. The movie takes place during fall, yet they're dressed like it's spring or summer? Just figured this would make more sense.
