You could say I'm a peculiar fellow, I'm a lot of things, a strange one, an outcast in other words, depending on how you see it. To the dragons, I would be food, or a pet, or a monster, if that's how they see it. To the humans, I am a beast to them, towering above them, or at least that's what they say.
I'm not the strongest, but nor am I the weakest. To the humans, I am a person of vast knowledge. To the dragons, I'm the silent shadows whom they see and tend to avoid.
I'm Talon, or to the dragons at least. The humans call me by a different name. Claws, despite it not being my birthname. Yes, an odd name for a human, or at least if you are a human reading this. You would consider this a rather odd name, but there is a quite simple explanation to this peculiarity. The fact that, I have a tendency to be seen carrying the talons of the dragon.
It's not that I carry the talons of a dragon, its just that people have seen me with talons instead of fingers, which is an abnormality which I know of why exists.
Here I shall go into detail of my past, to my mother and father. You see, there was an animus Nightwing, who was rather interested in humans, or scavengers as the dragons called the humans. Since the queens of the tribes declared humans something dragons couldn't eat nor harm, some were rather curious, and so, like my father, he investigated with his animus magic, although carefully, since he very well new the dangers of his magic and the cost of using it. And so he used his powers only a few times, to be able to speak to humans and transform into one when he wore a necklace of unknown origin.
During his human form, he found a human girl, one of which he took a liking to, as he told me when I was young. Was that she had milky hair of dark brown color, and the eyes of emeralds. He began talking to her, and being around her more and more often when he could, and she too began to take a liking to him. One thing leads to another, and I was born. My father told me that I was born without any draconic like features, I looked like an ordinary human child.
But as I grew, occurrences began to happen, my father spotted scales on my arm, but then they would disappear. So, because of these draconic features beginning to appear on me, he said to me he had thought that maybe I could turn into a dragon and human whenever I wanted to, but it was just a theory.
As I grew older, I soon became aware of it, and I soon learned I could control it. My father told me to hide me abilities, even from my mother, but who knew how long I could hide them.
But then, one day, tragedy struck, a great fire broke out throughout the human city, great lights is what I remember seeing from the windows, and screams were heard all around me. My eyes stung and it was difficult to breathe, I didn't know what do.
My father suddenly burst through the door, frantically looking around, and then asked me where mother was.
I didn't know, she had left earlier that day to go help the teacher in the school with a project for the children. He looked at me before suddenly picking me up and then racing outside, all I could see were bright, vibrant flames reaching up into the sky, charring the houses. People were panicking and frantically running around. Everything then began to get hazy, and my eyes began to sting and close. I could faintly recall hearing the words of "dragon" and screams of torment.
I woke up feeling the talons of something grabbing my torso and the gush of wind past my face. I looked above me and a black dragon was holding me in its talons, and I didn't know why. I thought I was going to get eaten and so I became scared. But the dragon spoke, and I surprisingly understood it, I didn't know how then, but I do now, it said, "Don't worry my child, we will soon be safe."
And so, like that, I had discovered my father was a dragon, I didn't know how, or why, but as I grew up, I began to learn things, my abilities to shape shift between dragon and human, I could understand both languages whichever form I took.
I missed my mother terribly, but the sorrow faded slowly over time as I accepted the fact that I may not ever see her again. My father and I researched and learned things about the world, we studied and did our best to understand my ability for the next couple of years.
One day, my father took me back to the village, we landed a distance away and transformed back, and we searched around. There were visible scars of the fire, charred buildings and scorched ground. But the city had been rebuilding, and we searched around to see if mother was still there, but to no avail, we did not find her.
With a heavy heart, we went back to our secret home in the Old Nightwing Kingdom, where we lived in the old palace.
But one day, father was gone, he wasn't working in the laboratory he had converted from an old room, nor anywhere else in the old palace. I searched for three days but he was nowhere to be seen. So that's where I am now, I'm scouring Pyrrhia in hopes of finding my father. I don't know why he left, or where he went, all I can hope for is that he's alive and that he had good reason to leave.
If only I knew-
There was a rustle from the leaves of a nearby bush from me, I turned around to see what it was but I saw nothing.
I carefully walked up to the bush where I had heard the rustling, and I looked in it, but there was nothing.
"Odd," I faintly muttered to myself.
Surely there was something there...
I cautiously walked back towards my journal, while checking up on the bush with a few swift glances.
I quickly placed my belongings into the satchel and then began trekking through the forest.
I walked for a few minutes and encountered another clearing, and then I checked around to make sure no one was around, as far as I could tell, none. I also couldn't smell the presence of any dragons or humans nearby, so I concluded that it was safe.
I set down my satchel onto the ground and then transformed into my dragon form, a mass of black scales becoming a dragon.
I picked up my satchel and placed it around my neck, for I would be heading to the city Velvet in the Skywing Kingdom.
I took flight and began heading North, towards the city.
I gazed around the landscape whizzing past me, mountains in the distant horizon and with large, swelling clouds over their peaks...
