Prologue.
Aldershot, Hampshire United Kingdome.
May 2032
An elder woman stood near the window. Holding the black and white wedding photo in her frail old hands. A seventy year old younger version of herself stared back. Tears pricked her old blue eyes as she ran her thumb across the face of the younger man in picture with her.
His blue eyes stared back at her. He stood so handsome in his uniform that he had worn with pride for thirty five years before he retired from the Army.
"Mum are you ready"Stephanie Carrington nee Zinone looked up at the sound of her eldest son Matthew stood in the doorway. He was the spitting imagine of his father Michael apart from his blonde hair and nose that he had inherited from her.
"It's time then"Stephanie placed the photo back on the table.
"The cars waiting outside to take us to the church"Matthew offered his arm.
Today would be the hardest day of her eighty eighty years on this earth. Today she laid to rest her best friend, husband, father of her children and the love of her life.
