Chapter 1: Welcome to Miitopia Ichiban!

Author's Note: Hello! Surprised? I wanted to mess around a bit and what better way to mess around than to make an nonsensical crossover in the shape of Yakuza and Miitopia? Granted, considering this is Miitopia we are talking about, this is more than just Yakuza crossing over with the Miitopia world. So this is going to be interesting for sure and probably dumb, but I wanted to take a crack at it anyways. With that said, this is TheFoolOfTheNoon signing off!

"Dang…what a day, running a business is no easy task. But its worth it to rebuild this town. So much free time…what to do?" the man in his early 40's smiled to himself as looked over to a switch console connected to his large T.V, "Time to see what this new RPG is all about, Miitopia it was called right?"

Walking over and turning on the system the menu popped up with the game being the first thing being selectable. The grown man has been catching up with the latest RPG's in the videogame market as during his entire adventure he never got the chance to look what has changed since the time he was in prison. Turns out Dragon Quest had many sequels since his time in prison and well he bought some of them just so he can play with them. Though tonight he is trying something new. Miitopia, supposedly it was a nice and simple game where the charm is simply the Mii's interaction with each other.

He was iffy on the game as the RPG aspects were simple, but after some videos shown by Eri he was willing to give it a chance. Honestly its hard to say no when she herself is the one who gifted the game to him. He went through the motions and started the game up and got to the character creator. Considering the name of the game is to send an avatar of yourself he of course recreated himself as best as he can and pressed the okay button.

"Okay here we go! Hero Ichiban to Miitopia!" The screen of his T.V. went black and then suddenly became a bright light that nearly blinded him, "Aaaahh! What's going on?!"

"Ohoho, yes you are perfect. Apologizes for this but I am desperate for a hero."

"What? Who's there? Woahhh!" Ichiban felt his body being pulled from his seat as he was pulled towards the light as everything became a blur to him. The room becoming dark as now there was nobody inside.

/

The weightless feeling ended in a painful crash as Ichiban felt the taste of dirt and grass. Quickly getting up the spit what was inside him mouth and shook off the disorientation, "Ow…what was that all about? I heard a voice and then that bright…just…"

When his vision returned to him, the man was at full attention when he realized that he was in an open field with green hills and flowers. Looking down at himself, the president of Ichiban Holdings, quickly found that his well-tailored maroon suit was switched out for a plain and functional traveler's garb with a red accent.

"Man and here I thought videogames are safe from the weirdness of this town. Oh well, just where am I? Nice place, quiet and peaceful and butterflies flittering by. Is this what it's like to be isekaied? If that's the case I don't see anybody around to greet me."

He walked around a bit before coming across an unusually large pink butterfly. Before he could interact with it suddenly a pair of floating eyes came from the sky. The sight took the former Yakuza back as it floated down and onto the butterfly, becoming a part of it. Ichiban took a few steps back as the butterfly turned around and looked at him with those same eyes with a malicious glare.

"What the hell?! Did that just happen?" The monster made a small screech, showing its intention to fight, "Oh I get it now, first encounter, right? Well bring it on freaky butterfly thing!"

Ichiban, being the brave man he is, attempted to fight the monster with nothing more than his bare hands. Falling back onto RPG tactics he attempted to hit the monster on his turns to attack but the monster proved to be nimble and hard to hit. He tanked a few hits from the monster, surprised a large butterfly can pack a punch at all. Despite that he endured long enough to land a punch and with it quickly found out why it was a bad idea. The moment his fist connected with the bug it felt like he was hitting a rock.

He screeched in pain as he held his hand. Ichiban had hit harder opponents before, but this was coming from a large butterfly of all things. Despite his own pain the butterfly was unfazed and even laughed at his misfortune.

"Aw crap, I don't think I am going to win this fight. Only one thing to do…run!" Fast as the wind he ran from the battle. Running for his life as looked for a safe haven from the monster. Over the hill he noticed a town in the distance. Destination set he ran towards the town double the pace. Panting and sweating until finally reaching the town gate only allowing himself to rest once seeing the coast was clear.

"Whew…I lost that bug, seriously what was up with that thing? It was floating around yet it was hard as a rock. Also, those eyes, they came out of nowhere and did something with that bug. I know I am not in Isezaki Ijincho anymore, but even this is trying to match the weirdness I witnessed there. Maybe some of the locals here can fill me in on what's going on."

Walking around he came upon a distrct with some distinct characters. Characters that look awfully…familiar. One of which is a well known cat dog tem.

"Hello there stranger! It's a bit boring today so a new face is nice to see around here. Names Temmie I am the guide around here."

"Temmie? You mean Undertale Temmie? What are you doing here?"

"You know me from somewhere stranger? I don't know what this Undertale is, but I assure you I was raised and born here in the town of Greehorne."

"Uh okay…weird, suddenly my panic of monsters with faces seems less serious."

"Monsters with faces? Gyahahaha! You gotta be kidding me! Just sit back relax, Greehorne's a peaceful place to leave your woes behind."

"Right if you say so…I'll just meet the others."

The Temmie guide shrugged as Ichiban met the other villagers. A cheerful granny in the form of some kind of anthro bear woman that he couldn't place at all. A mother and child who for the life of him looked like Toriel from Undertale and Max from Sam & Max. The latter of which he only knew thanks to stumbling upon their game on the internet. After them was a lovey dovey couple which disturbingly had Steve and the Creeper from Minecraft as husband and wife. The next guy after was just plain weird as it was an odd cat creature thing that didn't believe a word he said.

"Geez, what's with these people? Am I really the only one who saw that monster?"

"Something the wrong traveler? You seem stressed."

"Yeah I…what?! Date-san?! What are you doing here?"

"You know me traveler? I am afraid this is our first-time meeting. I'm the mayor of Greenhorne and it's a lovely town, though I kinda have to say that as Mayor. I hope you enjoy your stay here."

"Uh right, but Date-san there is a serious problem and I think you should know."

"Oh, and what that would be?"

He tried his best to explain the situation before the bright day gave way to a dark shadow that caused him to stop in his tracks as everyone froze to see a dark evil looking figure floating in the sky. With a Dracula like hairstyle, dark magician robes, golden wristbands, and the golden eye necklace that Ichiban could not help but feel unnerved by the piercing stare it had. The face of the monster is what weirded out the ex-yakuza as it was the face of CDI-Ganon. The cartoony evil face contrasted with the threatening aura he gave off.

"If I had to guess…it would relate to that guy!"

"Oh no! Its..!"

"Mwaa ha ha haaa! I am the Dark Lord, Ganon! I've come to wreak havoc and terror on this miserable little world! And I'm starting with you, people of Greehorne! Time to taste true fear! Say good-bye to your faces!"

The dark demon waved his hands and much to Ichiban's horror, some of the faces of villagers began to fly off peoples faces. First the kind granny bear, second the guide, third the child, fourth the female lover and lastly the sarcastic guy. All it left behind was a smooth imprint of their facial structures. It was a disturbing sight to behold, but the feeling of fear fleeted and gave way to rising anger. He couldn't let this Dark Lord get away with it, but as it stands there is nothing he could do. So he stood by keeping his righteous anger in check.

"Oh it's terrible! Th-their f-faces!" Date voiced in pure terror.

"Hmph! This will do nicely for now. Listen up, you faceless freaks! Get used to a life of wordless terror, because that's what you're stuck with! And those who've been spared…Take a nice long look at your poor little friends…AND DESPAIR! So long! Mwaaa ha ha haaaa!"

In a cloud of smoke and magic the demon left along with the faces. Concerned, Ichiban ran to check on those who had their faces stolen. Steve lamenting, he cannot see his beloved face while the others could only wordlessly react to his presence. He was starting to wonder if he was brought to world to fight this Dark Lord, it only made sense to him, but he was unarmed. If his fists could not hurt one of the monsters in the world then he had no chance against the Dark Lord, but there had to be something he could do.

He ran up to the grief stricken Toriel as she looked over the faceless body of Sam, "Sam! My poor baby! Don't panic…Don't panic…"

"Ma'am? Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Oh! Adventurer! Sorry I didn't see you there, since you know…"

"I understand, I want to help get your son's face back."

"Oh thank goodness! I thought I was going to beg. Thank you um…goodness I never got your name!"

"Kasuga Ichiban, hero from another world!"

"Thank you! But I can't let you go in alone…I know!" The goat mother reached into her pocket and presented a piece of mystical looking charm, "Please take this. It's our family's good-luck charm."

Gratefully he took the charm and pocketed it. Using his knowledge of JRPG's he knows for sure that something good will happen from keeping this charm. The mother was still worried about the presence of the Dark Lord and with some reassurances from the ex-yakuza she relaxed as he made his way out of town. If there was ever a time to be a hero, now is a better time as any.

/

Exiting the village and heading south Ichiban can still feel the evil presence of the Dark Lord nearby. The mother's worrying proving to be correct as after running a fair bit the demon reappeared in front of him. An evil smirk plasted on his face as he sees the lone Ichiban.

"Mwaa ha ha haaaa! Is someone trying to be the big hero?" he bellowed evilly.

"You're damn straight! Give Sam's face back you evil freak show!"

The Dark Lord let out a small chuckle as Sam's face floated down from the sky, "What, this ol' thing?"

"Don't mess with me, I'm getting it back one way or another!"

"Hrrm. Maybe I will give this one back to you…But you'll have to earn it," With the wave of his hands he made a yellow slime appear before Ichiban who jumped back a bit from its sudden appearance, "How good are you in a fight?"

"Better than you think. I can take a slime on no problem!" He put up his fists as he got ready for a fight. To his shock the Dark Lord smiled as he placed the face onto the slime. Said slime was now looking at him with maniacal glee.

"Be seeing you! If you survive, that is! Mwaaa ha ha haaaa!"

Once again, the Dark Lord vanished into the darkness and the stalwart man was left alone with the slime. Unnerved he was ready to fight regardless as the slime made the first attack. He braced himself until suddenly, a bright light glowed from his pocket and flew out between him and the slime. It was the charm the mother gave him, and in a flash of light Ichiban found himself in a strange realm. There was nobody around but him yet he felt he wasn't alone.

"Ichiban… Ichiban, can you hear me?"

"Uh yes I can…wait haven't I heard your from somewhere before?"

"Ho ho! It does seem like you're hearing me… What good fortune this is! Apologizes, yes you may have heard me before, but I have my reasons. Now you may not believe this, but I'm kind of a…guardian spirit."

"Whoa what! Cool! Just like in my RPG's! Are you going to help me out?"

"Why yes I am, as you can tell your fists aren't going to do much against these monsters. The monsters of the Dark Lord are much stronger for any normal man to defeat. As such, I, er, bestoweth upon thee the awesome power of the guardian! Hurrrrrgh…HAAAA!"

Ichiban felt a surge of power go within him as his clothes lit up and a range of icons appeared before him. Warrior, Mage, Cleric, Thief, Pop Star, and Chef job classes are available to him.

"Now, select a job you would like."

The JRPG fan smiled as this was a dream come true. Sticking to what he was best at and clearly the obvious choice for him, he selected the warrior job. In a flash of light his clothes changed in metal plate armor with chain mail with red pants and cape. In addition, he got a metal helmet that looked more like a cap. Finishing off the look was a simple iron sword with a golden cross guard. For a moment he posed with the armor before taking his weapon and pointing to the sky as he did with his bat.

"Hell yeah! This is a dream come true!"

"Ho ho! This is just what you need to deal with the Dark Lord's fiends! Now fight, O Ichiban! Make your foes fear you!"

"Don't need to tell me twice! Ha ha!" he posed once more as he was transported out of the realm and back into his encounter with the slime. With a smile he swung his sword a couple of times, "Bring it on slime! I'm ready for you now!"

The slime just smiled as it rushed in for the first attack. Pushing Ichiban back from the impact but he otherwise suffered minimal damage. He retaliated with his own sword strike which did the same to the slime which was taken aback by the force of his strike. It tried to hit the heroic warrior again, but he braced for the attack and was not fazed by it as he countered. The monster was reeling and before it could attempt another action, Ichiban ran and stabbed the slime. Finally defeating the monster as it went limp on the ground.

"Yes! Down for the count!"

The slime shortly poofed into magic dust as the face of the child was set free. He let out a small declaration of glee before flying off into the sky and back towards town. The man smiled before noticing the monster left behind a plate of jelly. He picked it up and stared at it confused as it was strange to see a food item.

"Excellent work, Ichiban! I knew I picked well."

"It was nothing hehe, though I have to ask. Are you the one who brought me here?"

"Yes, I did, once again I apologize for rudely doing so. There is a long-winded explanation for it but alas I cannot tell you here. Just know, that you have qualities I was looking for and the threat of the Dark Lord is all too real."

"I assume the qualities of a hero; heh I'm flattered Guardian Spirit. Don't worry I won't let you down."

"It heartens me to hear that Ichiban. Time to make your way back to the town of Greenhorne. Got to make sure that poor child's face made it home okay."

"Right, on my way!"

/

Heading back to the town, Ichiban was met with the sight of Sam's face floating down and returning to his body. He smiled as the child hopped with glee as his mother rushed in and checked on him. Showering him with love and worry, his first heroic action filled Ichiban with confidence and joy. The mother looked at him gratefully and rewarded him with two hundred gold. He thanked them for their generosity and began to walk off until he was once again taken to the Guardian's realm.

"Ho ho! Wonderful, just wonderful! The child is safe, Ichiban this may come as no surprise to you, but I have another task for you."

"Let me guess, get the other stolen faces back and stop the Dark Lord right?"

"Essentially, he made quite a mess in this world, and I need your help to stop him and his vile terror for good. This task is bigger than it sounds, but once again I ask can I count on your help to stop him?"

"Do you even need to ask? I'm a natural born hero, well I like to think I am, but I've done enough to reenforce that. Heck even if you didn't give me this power I still would have gone after the Dark Lord anyways. I'm not one to let such an evil slide if I have the power to fight it."

"I am so very happy to hear that! You truly are a kind soul Ichiban, I'll do my best to support you with the limited power I have. I'll make sure to update you on any new developments and if you have questions on this world. I will happily answer you when it's convenient."

"Alright that sounds good to me, just send me on my way."

"Already you are meeting my expectations! Ho ho!"

Ichiban found himself back in town once again and headed off to find the other villagers faces. Heading east as that was the only direction, he felt he could head at the moment, further seeing more of the Easin Hills as he traveled. Along the way he would encounter the large butterfly he ran into first in this world and very swiftly dispatched it and leveled up. He kept working his way through the path and fighting multiple monsters but felt himself wearing down. Eventually he found himself surrounded by three monster butterflies and low on stamina.

"Crap, this would be easier with a party! Or Supplies, this is going to be harder than I thought!"

"Ho ho! Looks like you're having a tough time there, champ. But don't worry. Help is coming! Buddoh, buhday…buhDEE!"

Another flash of light covered them all and suddenly a yell of surprise took Ichiban off guard as now standing there in the open, wearing Cleric gear is his friend Namba.

"What the?! What happened?! Where am I?! Ah, Ichiban!"

"Namba?! Never mind, can you help me out here? I'm in a pinch here!"

"I don't know what's going on, but I got you pal!"

"Thanks, lets kick these things asses!"

The duo, like a well-oiled machine fought against the monsters. Ichiban doing most of the damage, but Namba was able to dish out some damage himself with his staff. It took a bit longer but the friends managed to defeat the monsters.

"Whew…that was a close one, thanks for the help Namba. Though uh I have some explaining to do huh?"

"Yeah, you do, one second I was checking in on your room and then another I was sucked into your T.V.! I mean what on earth just happened?"

"Honestly, I don't quite know myself, all I know is that we need to save this world from a Dark Lord. Also, we may see some familiar faces here that aren't the same as we know them in real life."

"So, in other words we're caught up in another wacky adventure aren't we?"

"Yeah, that's about the jist of it. Didn't expect to see you though."

"I doubt you expected to be in this situation in the first place. Either way though, I got no choice but to help you. I mean somebody's got to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Speaking of which, what am I anyways?"

"Hmm…by the looks of it, Namba I think you are a Cleric!"

"A cleric, so one of those healing support classes in your RPG's right? Well I suppose I can work with this."

"Yeah I mean every party needs a healer."

"Right, so where are we heading anyways?"

"Well…"

Ichiban was about to tell his friend that he was basically just picking a direction before being interrupted by the presence of the Guardian Spirit.

"Ho ho! Looks like you two are getting along. Well, you should since you two are friends after all. Anyways apologies Namba for spirting you away but I needed somebody Ichiban here is already close friends with,"

"Well it certainly was rude, but hey if there was a good reason its fine."

"Should we expect more party members Guardian Spirit?"

"Yes, indeed you should. I cannot guarantee they will be of people of your world again. I might have to whisk away people from other worlds. So don't be too surprised when I send somebody not of your world to your door. However, I expect you all to get along as teamwork makes the dream work. So, bond with your friends well, the closer you are the more powerful you can become. That is all for now, Bon voyage! Ho ho!"

The presence left and the duo looked at each other and nodded, they are already on the same page as they continued their path. Together they fought more monsters that attempted to block their way. Even the appearance of a goblin did not deter them as they struck them down and gained experience. Namba leveling up to be able to use the cure spell to heal. After extensive walking the two grew weary and stumbled upon an inn. They did not question why one was here in the open, but just glad there was one at all as they checked in and rested for the night in the same room,

"Whew…what a day. Starting from level one is always a rough start."

"That was never a problem for you in the first place, so what kind of wacky characters you think we'll run into?"

"I don't know, but I guess the fun part is not knowing."

"Sure why not? I mean you befriended a crawfish of all things, at this point I think you can befriend anybody."

Ichiban chuckled at the memory of Nancy-chan. A random crawfish that he just ended up taking in, "Hehehe, that was a wild side quest. Well whoever comes our way lets make sure to welcome them with open arms!"

"You got that right buddy, well night."

"Good night Namba."

The two adventurers got comfortable in their beds and snoozed the night away. A new journey awaited the two and new allies as well. This odd world holds many surprises for them and many dangers to overcome. Despite that, Ichiban is determined to fight against the forces of the Dark Lord. Whatever comes his way, the former yakuza is going to face it with the same enthusiasm he has with life. Who knows, perhaps he will forge new long lasting relationships with people from other worlds. Only time will tell.
