I had made a mistake.

I should have never gotten involved with Edward Cullen. Now, it seemed I was going to pay for it dearly.

As I drove down the familiar road to the house I shared with Alice and Rose, I tried to get my shit together, wiping away my face, before I finally pulled into the property.

The small two acre property was more secure than Fort Knox.

My dad had transferred all of our properties to me, shortly before he died in a plane crash.

The house was originally a one story house with four bedrooms, a large kitchen and sitting room along with a dining room.

After it was transferred to my name, I added a second story and a second house onto the property, along with a parking garage, and a spa and pool.

My father had already placed security measures around the entire property and house.

There were a few guards set up at every entrance.

Alice and Rose were waiting for me as I parked inside the garage.

"Which car will we be taking?" Rose asked as I got out.

"The Camaro. We haven't used it since you changed the color and interiors, and made all the new adjustments to it, so no one besides us knows we own it." I replied as I pulled my things from the car, and shut the doors.

She nodded practically skipped towards the car with her bags. She stuffed all our bags into the trunk before allowing me to slide into the back.

"Hey, B?" Alice asked as she slid into the passenger's seat.

"Yes, Alice?" I asked.

"Did you —?" She asked.

I nodded, swallowing hard.

"Why? Em, told me they'd be back in a few days." Rose asked as she pulled out of the garage, watching as the automatic door closed behind us as she slowly moved away from the house.

"Did he also tell you that they're heading into the lion's den? Because Edward sure as hell told me." I replied coolly.

"No, he didn't tell me they were meeting with the Di Lorenzos." Rose gapped.

"Yes, well, they are. We need to move before they realize that I've left." I told them.

Rose nodded as she began pressing down on the accelerator, causing the engine to softly purr. "So, airport?" She asked me, after a moment.

I nodded, wordlessly turning to look out the window, as my mind went back to the day I met him.

A Few Months Ago:

"Alice, I'm in." I whispered into the small device I had in my ear.

"Great. Now walk fifteen feet to the south, and the double doors should be right there." She instructed.

I slowly moved through the hall, dodging the safety measures the people had taken before reaching the location of the safe.

As a usual cliche, the safe was in an office, behind a garden painting. No different from any other jobs I'd done the last few months.

A few bookshelves lining the walls, a mini bar in the corner of the room, a leather couch in front of the windows, and a large Mediterranean run on the floor.

Typical.

As I opened the safe and dropped my new acquisition into the bag on my belt, I heard a soft click of the gun. Quietly closing the safe, I sighed.

And here I thought this would be an easy job.

"Put your hands where I can see them and turn around.." The smooth velvet voice instructed.

I looked over my shoulder, smirking as I did. "Now, why would I do that?" I asked him, amused.

The gun clicked again, "Because one twitch of my fingers and your life is forfeit."

A small smile pulled in my lips as I lifted my hands before me, and slowly turned to face my would-be assailant.

"Bee? You have an unexpected guest." Alice spoke.

"Yeah I got that, Pix. Way to be on the lookout." I replied dryly.

"Sorry." She replied, apologetically.

"Hand the reins to Ro." I commanded before turning my attention back to the man standing in front of me.

"I take it your team figured out I was here?" The man asked, as he began to lower his gun.

I tapped my nose and smiled dryly at him. "So, what are you planning to do to me, handsome? Are you going to rough me up? Because let me tell you, I like being roughed up." I commented as I moved to sit on the edge of the desk.

Usually men flinch away in an uncomfortable manner, but this one surprised the hell out of me by his reaction.

A smile grew on his face as he dropped his arms to his side, clicking the safety back on. "Do you now?" He asked, tilting his head as he scratched his head with the tip of his gun.

I smirked at him, allowing myself to take an actual good look at him.

I noted that he was quite handsome. Complete with a lickable jaw, a pair of mesmerizing green eyes, and a smile that made my pussy clench. He was surprisingly tall too.

His voice had a thick italian accent to it, making it sound velvety and smooth.

I hummed, leaning back onto my hands. "I do. Sadly we won't get a chance for you to try." I replied feigning sadness as I pressed the button on my bracelet.

A dart flew and hit him in the side of the neck before he could react.

"What the fuck did you hit me with?" He asked, as he pulled it out, eyes widen.

I smirked, "It's a powerful sedative. While I enjoyed our banter, I really must go. I'll see you around, handsome." I told him as I watched his eyes roll to the back of his head, and his knees buckled, before he keeled over.

I shook my head, sighing in amusement as I made my way to the window, pressing another button on my belt.

A zip line shot out towards the trees that surrounded the massive house, I pulled it once to make sure it was secure before clicking the button on the harness, and jumping off the edge.

I sighed in relief as I landed in the shadows clicking the retracting button before moving away.

I ran a short way towards the highway where the black van was already waiting for me.

As I hopped in, we all let out a sigh of relief, as Es quickly pulled away from the shoulder of the road.
