Trigger Warning!
Bella's POV:
Present:
I woke up feeling a lot better.
My heart was beating out of my chest as I tried to shake off the memories, pushing them behind my mind.
As I opened my eyes I let out a tired sigh, before rubbing my eyes and slowly sitting up. Leaning heavily on the wall.
"How do you feel?" Rose asked me quietly as she sat on the foot of the bed.
"Better. Much better. Where is everyone else?" I asked as I noticed the berth practically empty.
Rose fidgeted on the bed, "Alice told Sul, Es, and Did to take the ruby to Ianah's colleague." She replied.
Excuse me? Did she just tell me—? I know she didn't just say she sent those ladies to a lion's den.
I sat up, almost smacking my forehead into the bottom beam of the top bunk. "I fell asleep all of the way here?!" I gasped.
She looked away, unwilling to meet my eyes as she sat there.
"Rose." I said warningly.
She sighed and nodded. "It's alright, Bee, you've been working extra hard these last few weeks. Especially after the night at the museum." She whispered. "You haven't been sleeping well, and been sick for at least three weeks now … we were all worried about you. We wanted you to get some rest...They'll be fine. Es, Sul, and Did can handle this with ease." She promised.
"I hope that everything goes alright." I murmured, groaning.
She smiled, "It will be fine, you'll see. Once that's done and over with, we can take care of King and Yiannis then we'll finally be free." She told me.
I stared at her, "King is going to be difficult to get to, he's one of them." I reminded her.
The fire in her eyes burned brighter. " I don't care. Cosa Nostra, Bratva, and everyone else owe us. All I ask is for them to stand aside." She whispered heatedly.
I stared at her in disbelief. She was going to go after a mafioso's son, and she thought everyone would stand aside? Was she being delusional or has she finally lost her rocket?
"Rose, you're asking for too much." I replied calmly.
She shook her head, "I've spoken to Stavros, he got the guys to stop their search. I'm sure he can provide me with anything I need." She replied, angrily.
I shook my head, her personal vendetta was going to get us all killed.
Yes, we all had a dark past that tainted us and our memories, but Rose and mine were particularly dark.
Not a lot survived with what we'd been through. It was beginning to weigh on her. I could see it. We all could.
"We got you out alive once, Rose, don't push your luck." I replied, honestly, as I moved to get up.
"Are you really going to ignore all that those bastards did to us?" She demanded, turning angrily towards me.
I sighed, "Maybe that's the best option for us, Rosalie." I replied calmly.
"You cannot be serious about this!" She yelled.
"No. I am. I am being completely serious about this. Can't you see? I'm tired of this. Of all of this. The missions, the danger and constant having look over our shoulders. Having to leave our homes. I want to live a normal life! To be happy! Don't you?! What they did was horrible, yes, but we can't allow this to keep haunting us! Otherwise it'll keep hanging over us like a dead goose. We'll never be happy if we keep giving them this power over us." I told her as her eyes began to shine with unshed tears.
"I — I can't let this go, Bee. I will never be happy knowing that the bastard is alive, possibly hurting some other girl." She told me.
My head snapped in her direction at the implication she just made. No. She couldn't be serious.
As I stared at her, and the haunted, dead-eyed look she had on her face gave her away.
My eyes widened. Blood drained from my face. And muscles tensed.
"Are you certain that they are, in fact, doing this?" I asked her.
She nodded, turning away from me. "Es said she'd been following a case of missing girls cross country. It led her to the same horrid place…" she whispered a moment later.
I groaned, trying not to think of the place she was talking about, before turning to look at her. "Do they all know?" I asked.
She turned back nodding in response.
"I'm going to regret doing this… Fine, but if something happens to us, and we all die. I'll make sure you're burning in hell right alongside me." I told her.
"So, I'll take it, you're in?" She asked me smirking.
"Don't smirk at me. That is very patronizing. I'm in, but this is the last time. Then we're done, and I meant it. No more missions, heists, or dangerous tasks. I'm fucking done." I replied before moving to the bathroom, locking the bathroom room, behind myself.
My fists clenched at my side as I thought about having to go anywhere near that hell hole.
The anger I had been carrying all these years suddenly overwhelmed me.
All the horrible memories that my mind had, and could feel them begin to overflow.
Suddenly all I could think about was that horrible week we spent there when we were teenage girls.
And then… all I saw was red, and the sound of glass breaking before everything went dark.
Author's Note:
So I was planning to post this tomorrow morning, but I finished editing it earlier.
So, I decided to post it.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Also, I won't be writing what happened to them into the story because it's too dark. But I will be posting a colloge later
