{Cobra Kai Dojo}
Miguel and Jaden are in the Cobra Kai dojo, standing, wearing regular clothes. Johnny, on the other hand, is wearing his black gi. Nobody speaks up for a while until Miguel asks something.
Miguel: "So am I going to get the karate pajamas, too..."
"QUIET", yelled Johnny. This shocked both Jaden and Miguel.
"Didn't have to yell so loud", replied Jaden.
Johnny ignores this and continues.
"The student only speaks when spoken to. Is that understood", asked Johnny.
"Yes dad", said Jaden, but Johnny looked unimpressed.
Miguel: "Yes sir?"
"You guys will always address me as "Sensei," is that understood", he asked.
"Yes, Sensei", both Jaden and Miguel replied.
"These aren't pajamas. This is a gi. And you'll get one when you two earned it. All right, are you ready to begin your training?"
Jaden/Miguel: "Yes, Sensei!"
Johnny then decides to attack Miguel by punching him.
Miguel: {groans}
"Lesson one, strike first. Never wait for the enemy to attack", said Johnny.
"You could've give him a warning at least", replied Jaden.
"QUIET", yelled Johnny. It shut both Miguel and Jaden up again.
"We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here on the street, in competition, a man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy", rants Johnny.
Miguel pulls his inhaler and starts using it.
"What is the problem, Mr. Diaz", he asked.
"There's no problem, Sensei. You punched me, and I have asthma, so..."
Johnny then throws the inhaler to the wall and it breaks.
"This dumbass", Jaden says in his head.
"Not anymore", replied Johnny. "We do not allow weakness in this dojo. So you can leave your asthma and your peanut allergies and all that other made-up bulls### outside. Is that understood", he asked.
"Yes, but those are real medical problems", Miguel tries to explain, but since Johnny isn't the sharpest tool in the shed so he just gave up.
"Yes Sensei, understood", Miguel replied.
"Cobra Kai isn't just about karate. It's about a way of life", Johnny explains. "Take that first lesson. Striking first is the initial step towards victory. Okay, like when you're at a party and you see a hot babe..."
"You don't wait for some other guy to go talk to her first, do you", he asks.
"No, you talk to the hot babe first, before anyone else talks to her", says Jaden.
"Correct", replied Johnny.
"How about you Menudo", he asks Miguel. "What do you do?"
Miguel: "I mean, I've never been to a party, so..."
"Big surprise", said Johnny sarcastically. "All right, look striking first is about being aggressive, all right? If you're not aggressive, then you're being a pussy, and you don't want to be a pussy You want to have balls."
"Don't you think you're doing a lot of genderizing", asked Miguel.
Jaden couldn't help but snicker at that comment.
Johnny: "What?"
"Oh, uh, sorry. Don't you think you're doing a lot of genderizing, Sensei", he asked.
"No, what the hell are you talking about", asked a confused Johnny.
"Oh, uh, my guidance counselor says that certain words perpetuate the sexist world view that can trigger-"
"QUIET", yelled Johnny for a third time.
"Yo, stop with the yelling", said Jaden, frustrated.
"Shut the hell up, Jaden", said Johnny.
"From now on, you won't listen to your guidance counselor. You're going to listen to me. Is that understood", he said to Miguel.
"Yes, Sensei", said Miguel.
"Good. Now stop yapping like a little girl and give me 50 push-ups on your knuckles", he said to Miguel. "You too, Jaden".
"Yes, Sensei", said Jaden.
Jaden and Miguel started the push-ups. Miguel was struggling to do at least a few, while Jaden was already on his 15th push-up. Johnny looks down at Miguel, and sighs.
"All right, just do some crunches. Don't you have gym class or something", he asked Miguel.
Jaden almost finished his push-ups and Miguel started doing crunches.
We then see a man walk into the dojo.
"Howdy, there, Mr., uh, Lawrence", said the CHD man.
"It's Sensei", said Miguel
"Miguel, shut up".
Jaden chuckles and finishes his push-ups. He then starts on his crunches.
"What brings you in? Looking to lose that gut and learn how to kick some ass", he asked.
CHD Man: "No." I'm from the city health department. This is a list of requirements needed to open up an exercise studio."
"This isn't an exercise studio. This is a karate dojo", replied Johnny.
"Yeah, same deal", said the man. "This place needs a lot of work. You're not open for business, are you? "Are those two kids, customers?"
"No, I got my son and an illegal I picked up this morning", replied Johnny.
CHD Man: "I don't need to know about all that. My job is just to make sure this place is up to code. You don't want a scabies outbreak like that hot yoga place over on Tujunga."
"Wait, so I have to do all this crap before I even open", Johnny asked.
CHD: "No, you need to do all that to get the certificate that's required to get the insurance you need to open. But you knew that when you signed your lease, right? I'll drop in next week for another inspection."
"Huh, cool rattlesnake", said the man.
"It's a Cobra", said Johnny.
"Oh, right, duh. I'm such an idiot."
The man leaves the dojo.
"Indeed, you are", Jaden says. This got a laugh out of Miguel.
"Alright, we have new lesson today", said Johnny.
"What's that", asked Jaden.
"Cleaning", said Johnny.
Both Jaden and Miguel look at each other and groan.
{A few hours later}
Jaden's POV
Me and Miguel were cleaning up the side of the dojo. I'm cleaning the walls and he's cleaning around some boxes. My dad walks in to check on us.
"Looking good", my dad said. "Make sure you get both sides. And after y'all done with that, you two can take care of these exposed wires. That's going to be a lot of work."
"Yeah, but what does any of this have to do with karate, Sensei", asked Miguel.
"Do not question my methods. Just be thankful you're not a sumo wrestler. Those guys have to wipe their Sensei's cheeks."
I cringe in disgust. Miguel was open the boxes on the side and stop cleaning to check as well. It was some of dad's old trophies. I knew that he was a karate champion, but he never showed me his trophies. I look at the date of the trophies. There was one for 1981, 82, and 83. It seems like from the title of the trophies, he won the 1982 and 1983 tournaments. Miguel was curious as well.
"So, I, uh, see you were a karate champion, Sensei", said Miguel.
"You don't have to call me "Sensei" every time", said Dad.
"I'm sorry, Sensei."
I couldn't help, but chuckle at this.
"I, um, sorry, I'm sorry."
Johnny continued. "I won a couple All Valley tournaments. Didn't lose a single point my junior year."
"Cool, so you were a two-time champion?", I asked.
"Yep", he replied
"All right. What happened your senior year", asked Miguel.
"Yeah, what happened? I want to know if you won three in a row", I asked.
I think my dad's PTSD from that night of the tournament came at the moment because he was quiet.
"This isn't 20 questions. Get back to scrubbing", he said.
Miguel's phone rings and I guess if it isn't from the 80s, my dad doesn't like it. Miguel answers the phone.
"Hey. Yeah, uh, the debate team is running a little late. Uh, okay. Love you too", Miguel finishes and hangs up the phone.
"Don't tell me you have a girlfriend", said Johnny.
"Ha, what's she likes Miggy", I joked. Miguel rolls his eyes playfully.
"That was my mom, actually", he said.
"Hotty Mommy", I said in my head.
"Um, I told her I joined the debate team because she doesn't approve of violence".
"What about your dad? Is he okay with you getting your ass kicked up and down Reseda Boulevard", Dad asked.
"Oh, I never, uh, really knew my dad, so..."
There was a moment of silence in the dojo. Dad then says something.
"All right, well, stop standing there. Both of you, get back to training." We both go back to cleaning.
"And change that ringtone. Get some Guns N' Roses or something", said Dad.
"What's Guns N' Roses", Miguel asked. I'm shocked that he didn't know. I may not know everything from the 80s, but my dad taught me the basics of music, and surprisingly, it's good.
"I'm going to pretend you didn't say that", said Dad.
Jaden's POV Ended
Nobody's POV
{Outside the apartments}
Jaden, Johnny, and Miguel head home after a long day's work. Johnny goes to his apartment and me and Miguel talk.
"So training was good today, huh", Jaden said.
Miguel: "Yeah, Sensei got us cleaning all day, great lesson." {sarcastically}
"Oh, so tomorrow, I want to show you my other friends", said Jaden
"Oh, okay. Can't wait", said Miguel. "By the way, do you want to hang out again?" My mom and yaya really like you.
"Sure", said Jaden. "Besides I literally live two feet away from where you are, so I can always visit you".
Jaden and Miguel chuckle. Jaden tells his dad he hanging with Miguel. When Jaden goes back outside, they had to Miguel's apartment. The two played computer games for a few hours and Miguel ended up winning. When dinner was ready, they finish and came out of Miguel's room.
Jaden saw Yaya bring out the food.
"What's that", he asked.
"It's Churrasco Ecuatorino", replied Yaya.
"Hey, it's good, try it", Miguel said.
Jaden tried it and it actually tastes good. No scratch that, it was great. While eating, Jaden asked Carmen and Yaya for the recipes for the meal. They also gave him some other meals, he could cook for himself. When it's night, Jaden and Miguel said their goodbye and Jaden gave Carmen a flirty goodbye. Miguel had to slap his neck, to tell him to stop. Miguel and Jaden say goodbye and Jaden walks back to his apartment.
{The Next Day}
It's the first day of school at West Valley High. Miguel and Jaden decided to walk to school. When they got in, Jaden showed him around the school and everything he needed to know. Jaden wanted to know what's his schedule. They both got six classes and four out of the six, they have the same classes. They both did their handshake and went to their first class.
{Lunch Time, Cafeteria}
Miguel and Jaden got their food and walk to find a seat. Jaden found Eli and Demetri and sat down.
"Sup, shitbirds", he replied.
Eli chuckles and Demetri looks at Miguel.
"Is it cool if I sit here", he asked.
"Ooh, sorry, table is really blowing up right now. I can put you on the wait list, but it's probably next semester at the earliest", Demetri said sarcastically.
Miguel didn't get the joke and started to walk away.
"Bro, he's kidding, sit", said Jaden
"Exactly, sit", replied Demetri.
"I'm Miguel"
"Demetri, this is Eli. He's a man of few words", said Demetri. "You already meet Jaden", he says.
"Yeah, he introduced me when I first moved here", replied Miguel.
We then see Sam and Yasmine walking to the rich girl's table. Miguel, Eli, and Demetri were looking at them. Jaden was looking at Sam's cheeks while she was walking. Miguel caught him staring and laughs a bit.
"Dude, don't torture yourself. Those are the rich girls", said Demetri.
"Do you ever talk to them or?
Jaden's mind: "I use too."
"Oh, yeah, all the time. We hang out after school. Make out, give each other hand jobs. Jaden's the master of smashing and Eli here is the homecoming king. Gets laid more than anyone. Isn't that right, Eli", said Demetri. Eli smiles and Jaden laughs.
"Talk to them? You realize what table you're sitting at, right? You've pretty much signed away all hopes of losing your virginity before college, except Jaden. Because of the hair and face."
"Yeah, I get that a lot. They even got a few names for me", said Jaden.
"What are the names", asked Miguel.
"Hot Loser and Goldilocks", answered Jaden.
"That's not so bad", said Miguel.
"Still, it's get annoying after a while", replied Jaden.
The popular girls then look at the loser table.
"Oh, shit, Yasmine's looking at us. Probably just making fun of me", said Eli.
"I don't think she's making fun of you. I mean, just because they're hot doesn't mean they're mean", said Miguel.
"You clearly haven't seen "Mean Girls", said Jaden. "Or any high school movie or show", he continued.
{The Popular Girls Table}
"Oh, my God, you guys. You see that guy over there who looks like he went down on a lawnmower? He's literally wearing the ugliest sweater I've ever seen", said Yasmine
"That is so wrong", replied Sam.
"Speaking of wrong, check out Fug-lisha. She looks like she ate a picnic table", Yasmine continued.
"The only cute one is the blonde". Still don't understand why he hangs with us", said Moon.
"Don't know, guess losers stick together", said Yasmine. The girls laugh expect. Sam stays quiet. She misses the friendship she had with Jaden.
{Losers Table}
"I don't care if Yasmine is the meanest girl at school. 'd kill all three of you just to get her to spit in my face."
"Gee, thanks", said a sarcastic Jaden.
"Yeah, well, if you don't make a move, you're never going to have a shot with her", said Miguel.
"True, but I'll also never suffer a humiliating rejection. I'm at peace with my depression. Last thing I need to be is suicidal", said Demetri.
Miguel suddenly decides to get up with his tray.
"What are you doing", asked Demetri, scared.
"Striking first", Miguel replied.
Miguel was walking slowly to the girls table. Jaden was cheering him on and Miguel was looking at Sam. Jaden kinda got jealous, but it didn't stop him from cheering. All of a sudden, Kyler, Joesph, and their friends go to the girls table. Kyler wraps his arm around Sam and Miguel walks away humiliated.
"See you later, Rhea", said Brucks
"Losers", said Matthew.
Miguel sat back down at the loser's table and sighed.
"So, how it go", said Demetri.
Jaden punches Demetri's shoulder, telling him now is not the time.
{Cobra Kai Dojo}
After school ended, Jaden and Miguel went into the dojo. Johnny was teaching them the basics of Striking First and how to punch properly.
"You can't strike first if you don't know how to strike. The cobra strike is composed of two parts- the lunge which requires the use of the whole body and the bite, which is everything that happens after you make contact, all right? You don't stop here where the knuckle hits the bone. You punch through the bone, like the guy you really want to hit is standing behind this asshole. All right? All right? Strike here, you bloody his nose. Strike here, you break his teeth. Strike here, you could severely damage his trachea."
Miguel and Jaden looked at Johnny, worriedly.
"Obviously, that's only for extreme situations."
"All right, line up. Focus."
Johnny gets a call and goes to the other side of the dojo.
Miguel is messing around with the dummy and Jaden laughs.
"Here, let me show you how it's done".
Jaden sent vicious punches to every side of the dummy. He finishes with a punch to the chest.
"Woah", Miguel said in awe.
Jaden then looks at Johnny. He seems kinda upset. Jaden goes over to his dad quietly.
"Who's Molly? Is that some chick he's hooking up with?", Johnny asked.
Jaden tried to hear who the other person on the phone was but couldn't hear them. He then hears his dad mention Robby. So, he was talking to Robby. Jaden wanted to speak with him, but decided to let his dad talk.
"Don't try to play dad now. You're a pathetic loser."
Jaden decided to stop hiding and took the phone from Johnny's hand.
"Hey, listen here Robby, you don't know what dad goes through every day, so give him a break", yelled Jaden.
"Oh, of course, always taking up for him", replied Robby. "You're nothing, but a selfish traitor", said Robby. Johnny took the phone back from Jaden and continued talking. Jaden, who was furious, started punching the air viciously Johnny hangs up the phone and goes to Miguel, angrily.
"All right, no, no, no, no, no."
"You're doing it all wrong. What do you want, those kids at school to keep dumping shit on your head? You want all the girls to think you're a wangless dork? Because you can stop your training right now and you can walk outside and let the whole world know you're a loser. Or you can plant your feet, look your enemy in the eyes, and punch him in the face!"
Jaden knew what Miguel was going to picture.
"Picture your enemy", said Johnny. Miguel had his picture. Kyler was in his mind. "All right, you have a picture in your mind? What are you going to do?"
Miguel punched the dummy, brutally.
"Again", yelled Johnny.
Miguel punches the dummy again
"Ah, Ah,", yelled Miguel.
Jaden looks concerned as Miguel punches the dummy. He has never seen this side of him before.
"Are you a loser?", said Johnny.
"No, Sensei!", Miguel yelled.
"Again!", Johnny yelled again.
Miguel continues attacking the dummy for a minute. He then stops to catch his breath.
"Alright, time to continue cleaning", said Johnny.
Both Miguel and Jaden groan.
{Cobra Kai Dojo, A few hours later}
Miguel is almost finished with his side of the dojo. Jaden has already finished his and is looking at memes.
"Hey, Sensei, is there any particular way you want me to wash these windows", asked Miguel.
"No, I don't give a shit. Whatever's easiest. You know what? Just go clean the toilet, and we'll call it a night", said Johnny.
"And do that one on your hands and knees", he continued.
Jaden chuckles at what he said. Miguel went into the bathroom to finish cleaning. All of a sudden, the door of the dojo opened, and we see Daniel LaRusso. Jaden looks shocked that he's here.
"Welcome to Cobra Kai", said Johnny.
Daniel looks at him and scoffs.
"Some things never change", said Daniel.
"What are you talking about?", asked Johnny.
"I heard you beat up a bunch of teenagers in that parking lot out there", said Daniel.
"Oh, that. No, I didn't beat up any teenagers", said Johnny.
"He kicked the shit out of a bunch of assholes who deserved it", finished Jaden.
Johnny looks at his son and smirked.
"Those assholes had it coming", replied Johnny.
"Wow, Johnny Lawrence calling someone else an asshole. That's rich, man", said Daniel.
"Yeah, what's that supposed to mean", Johnny said, walking up.
"Look, I'm not here to rehash the past. Just stay away from my daughter's friends", said Daniel. "And I don't want your son with them either."
"Hey, screw you man!", said Jaden, angrily.
Daniel had to hold back at yelling at the kid.
"Your daughter's friends? Yeah, that makes sense. Nice company she keeps", said Johnny.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?", replied Daniel.
"It means those friends of hers were wailing on a kid half their size. Now, maybe you don't know your daughter as well as you think you do. Get your house in order, LaRusso", Johnny said. Daniel, angrily, walks up to the mat.
Daniel: "Who the hell do you think you're talking to?"
All of a sudden, Miguel comes out the bathroom.
"Bathroom's clean! Is there anything else you need me to do?", he asks.
Johnny, Jaden, and Daniel look at Miguel. He didn't realize that he steps into the middle of a heated battle.
Miguel: "I'm sorry, Sensei..."
"Sensei? Really? Oh, my God, kid, I don't know what he's told you, but you shouldn't believe a word this guy says, or you're going to end up exactly like him", said Daniel.
"You and I this, we aren't done", finished Daniel.
"I'm right here, man" said Johnny.
Daniel scoffs and leaves the dojo.
"I'm sorry if I interrupted anything, Sensei. Should I do 20 push-ups on my knuckles?", Miguel asked.
Johnny and Jaden chuckles. "Right, like you could".
As Daniel gets into his car, he looks at Johnny looking at him. Johnny smirks as Daniel leaves the area. Jaden walks over to Miguel.
"20 bucks, says Sensei going to fight that dude", Jaden offered.
Miguel looks at him and puts his hand out. "Deal", he replied.
Question Of The Day: What Are 5 Things You Want To Happen In Cobra Kai Season 5?
These are mine:
1. There will be no team-up in the last episode: I want both dojos to kind of go their separate ways for a while since everybody will be doing their own things. Season 6 should be the time both Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do will permanently team-up.
2. I want some fighters to join different dojos: Everyone should have an equal number of fighters so one dojo doesn't have too many. Here's who I want for each dojo.
Cobra Kai: Shawn, Kenny, Piper, Kyler, etc.
Eagle Fang: Miguel, Robby, Devon, Mitch, etc.
Miyagi-Do: Sam, Eli, Demetri, Tory, etc.
3. Miguel's dad and Mike Barnes to have other children: We need this because Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do have the better fighters. Shawn could try, but that's just one person. I want Mike Barnes to have twins. {One boy and one girl} Miguel's dad should have either a daughter.
4. They should stick with the current relationships: The last thing I need is another love triangle or square.
5. Miguel should be in his prime: It's been two seasons alright. I NEED PRIME MIGUEL BACK, PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
