"Mmm, beautiful girl," Emma groaned, "if we don't stop, we'll end up being late.."

"I don't care. Estoy ocupado. And I don't think your complaints are completely genuine, querida…"

Emma groaned again and closed her eyes, as Regina's clever, clever mouth continued the exploration of her inner thigh. Nope, her complain was definitely not very genuine. Not very genuine at all. This was exactly how she wanted to spend her morning. Naked. With her legs spread. And Regina's head between her thighs. Emma whined a bit when Regina kissed her inner thigh in a particular way that had her toes curling a little extra. She reached down and grabbed a fistful of Regina's dark tresses. Gave the tiniest of little tugs. Not very harshly, but hard enough to make it nip slightly. She knew how much Regina liked a little pain mixed with her pleasure, and indeed she was rewarded with a quiet moan from Regina. Followed by a low muttering in Spanish.

"Mmm, what was that?" Emma moaned. "What did you say?"

"Nada," Regina answered and resumed kissing Emma's inner thigh.

Emma could only tip her head back and moan once more. She had been beside herself with joy when Regina woke her up with a kiss and the suggestion to kick their morning off in the best way possible. Emma had been all for it, of course. But now time was sort of… ticking, and as much as Emma was enjoying this, they really couldn't be late for today's appointment. That wouldn't look good.

But for whatever reason, all her fine arguments completely melted away when Regina suddenly took her kisses a quarter inch to the left. When her tongue and lips touched a place most sensitive, Emma was reduced to a moaning mess who was already begging Regina for more. And Regina happily complied.

"Oh, god!" Emma moaned when she felt Regina's tongue lick her clit without much preamble. "Oh, fuck!" She tightened her grip on Regina's hair and gave it another little tug.

Regina reacted to that by licking harder and faster. Just the way Emma liked it. She told Regina that and squeezed her eyes tightly shut as the pleasure amped up within her. After Regina's previous teasing and the one orgasm she'd already had, she reckoned that it wouldn't take long before she fell apart once more. Oh, fuck, this was exactly how she wanted to start her morning! She wanted more and more and more. She never wanted to leave this bed again. Wanted the both of them to stay right here. Preferably forever. It was entirely possibly that she also told Regina that. Perhaps Regina would tease her about it later, but right now, Emma could say whatever the hell she wanted, and she took advantage of that. Babbled nonsense about how good Regina felt. How fucking wonderful this was. How close she was. So. Fucking. Close.

Her orgasm crashed down upon her and rocked her from top to toe, and when it was over, Emma most of all wanted to go right back to sleep for a few hours. And then she wanted to do it all over again.

"Holy shit," she panted, tossing an arm over her eyes as though that was going to help her stay grounded. "Babe, that was amazing!"

"Gracias, querida," Regina said lowly, and Emma groaned when she felt her inner thigh being kissed again. For a second, she thought that Regina was going to start licking her again. She wasn't sure she had the willpower to remind Regina that they were supposed to get ready, if that really was the case.

But fortunately enough (or was it perhaps unfortunate?) Regina did not start licking her again. She just kissed Emma's slick inner thigh and nuzzled her nose against it. Then she settled down next to Emma. Flat on her back, of course. That was pretty much the only sleep position that did not mean that her belly was in the way.

"God," Emma moaned and moved her arm away from her eyes. She kept them closed, though. Wasn't completely prepared to return to the world yet. She reached blindly for Regina and ended up grabbing at her belly.

"Oof," Regina said and squirmed. "Careful, querida."

"Sorry," Emma said hastily and opened her eyes. "Did that hurt?"

"No. But you woke the baby. Shame on you." Regina chuckled lightly as she began rubbing her belly.

"Oops." Emma too reached out so she could caress Regina's belly a bit more gently. "Sorry, Blueberry. Mmm…" She stretched her arms above her head. "We really do need to get a move on, you know. We're supposed to be somewhere in an hour."

"Okay," Regina said entirely unbothered and closed her eyes.

"Hey." Emma gave her a gentle nudge. "No falling asleep, beautiful girl. Then I would have to wake you, and that would break my heart. You know that."

"We should skip the appointments and stay right here," Regina slyly suggested and licked her lips in an incredibly sexy way. "Doesn't that just sound good, mi amor?"

Her rich, husky voice had Emma forgetting everything. Momentarily. Once Regina's little enchantment had lifted, she shook her head vehemently and said firmly: "we can't do that! You know that!"

". But I almost had you, though," Regina teased. "You were just about to say yes…"

"I was not!"

"Yes, you were…"

"No, I wasn't!"

"Yes, you were…"

"No, I wasn- okay, you know what?" Emma huffed when realizing that Regina had found a new way to postpone the inevitable.

Regina snickered. Her dark eyes were sparkling. She knew that she had been caught.

"I am going to kiss you now," Emma firmly announced. "And then we're getting out of bed. Understood?"

One of Regina's eyebrows lifted. "Quite assertive, Señorita Swan."

"Yes," Emma said plainly. Then she leaned in and kissed Regina long and hard. Enjoyed the salty taste prickling on Regina's lips. The taste was almost distracting her, but once again, she remembered that they really should be getting a move on, so after a bit more kissing (and some rather delicious whimpering from Regina) Emma pulled back and announced that it was time to get a move on.

"But I don't want to," Regina said, and fuck, those pouty lips were so damn kissable! Still, Emma controlled herself. "As soon as we're done, we can go back to bed and stay there all day. How does that sound?"

Regina's pretty face lit up in a smile. "Eso suena maravilloso, mi amor. Es un trato."

"Excellent. Then let's get up." She swung one leg out of bed and elegantly grabbed Regina's spare robe. She shrugged it on and thought to herself that she might have to sneak it into her suitcase before going home. If Regina could steal her clothes, Emma could damn well steal hers too. She stood from the bed and ran her fingers through her hair. Waited patiently while Regina adjusted. When she was ready, Emma helped her stand from the bed. She gave her hand a little squeeze and smiled. Regina looked marvelous with her hair all mussed up and her eyes sparkling.

"I'm gonna take a shower," Regina announced.

"Good idea. Shout if you need help, okay?"

"I'll do that," Regina promised. She grabbed her crutch and turned her back on Emma. She hadn't bothered with a robe, and she was definitely swaying her hips a little extra. Little tease.

Emma could not resist the temptation that quite literally was in front of her. She lifted her hand and gave Regina's butt a smack.

Ay!" Regina exclaimed, turning her head and glared at Emma. "You spanked me!"

"," Emma teased. She didn't give much for Regina's scowling. The amusement was obvious in her eyes. "And you liked it," she continued, shrugging and grinning at her girlfriend.

Regina didn't exactly deny it. She just huffed as she steered towards the bathroom. Still swaying her hips. Emma was tempted to follow her, but she knew that if she did that, their shower would drag out, and they really were in a bit of a hurry this morning. Had places to be. The co-shower would have to wait. Unfortunately. But later, they would have all the time in the world…

One hour later, bathed and dressed and fed, Emma and Regina were sitting in the doctor's waiting room. Regina had not one, but two appointments this morning. The first appointment was to finally get the cast off her foot. And the second appointment was her twenty eight week appointment. Emma was particularly excited about that one. She was so looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat. And to find out if everything was okay with Regina and Blueberry. She did not have any reason to suspect that something was up. Regina was glowing and growing like she was supposed to, and Blueberry was happily kicking away in her belly. To Emma, it looked like everything was going swimmingly. But she was looking forward to hearing the doctor confirm that. Perhaps Emma was a teensy bit nervous. Not alarmed or scared or anything. Just a little nervous. She wanted confirmation that everything was going according to plan. Confirmation that she and Regina were free to go ahead with their plans of relocating. Regina had deserved that the last bit of her pregnancy was peaceful. No drama. She had experienced far too much of that already. Emma cringed when the image of Regina tumbling down the stairs suddenly flared up in her mind. Sometimes she still had nightmares about that. It had been awful. Absolutely awful.

"¿Estás bien?" Regina put a gentle hand on her arm.

"Yep," Emma said quickly and flashed her girlfriend a smile. "Everything's fine."

"Good." Regina took a sip from the straw sticking up from the lid of the clear Starbucks cup. Today's choice was banana milkshake.

"Can I have a sip?" Emma asked, nodding towards Regina's milkshake.

"Of course." Regina handed her the clear plastic cup. "But only a little sip. I'm thirsty."

"You and your milkshakes," Emma said fondly as she took the tiniest of sips from the cup. "Mmm," she said once the sweet banana flavor hit her tongue. "This is really good."

"Lo sé." With a little grin, Regina took the cup from Emma again and started sipping the milkshake.

"I wasn't gonna drink all of it," Emma pointed out.

"Can never be too sure."

"Rude."

"." Regina winked at her.

Emma shook her head. Laughed and slipped an arm around her girlfriend's shoulder. "What time is your dad coming?"

"He should be here in time for the baby appointment."

"Great. Did Cora text you again?" She knew that Cora had texted Regina earlier, asking about today's appointment.

"Sí, she asked if I would text her after the appointment and let her know how I am doing. And the baby."

"And are you gonna do that?"

"Sure," Regina said lightly, taking another sip of her milkshake. I like that she asked. And I like that she asked if I would let her know how I am doing before she mentioned the baby. Not that baby isn't important, he is, he's the most important thing in the world, but… you know what I mean, right?"

"I sure do," Emma said softly and gave her a little squeeze.

"It was nice to come first," Regina said quietly. "I liked it."

Emma said nothing. Just leaned in and kissed the side of Regina's head.

"I also heard from Lily," Regina continued. Talking about something else when the subject that was Cora Mills came a little too close, was her favorite strategy. "She wanted to know about the appointment today as well. Malaina too."

"Goodness," Emma smiled. "You sure got many people that are interested in you and Blueberry, huh?"

"Mhmm," Regina chuckled. "I like that too. Especially Lily's genuine interest. It already feels like I have known her for a long time. She's such a nice person."

"I hope she'll come and visit you soon."

", me too! I think that could be lots of fun! I could show her all the good places in Madrid."

"That does sound like fun. I wish I could be here for that instead of working," Emma groaned.

Regina patted her knee gently. "It won't be long before we see each other again, querida. I'm coming to Storybrooke soon. I can't seem to keep away…"

"Good."

Regina snickered. "Thank god for Skype."

"Uh-huh!" Emma said earnestly. Seriously, Skype was fucking best thing to ever have been invented. A brilliant, brilliant thing. Obviously, not quite as good as being near Regina, but it worked for them. Until she and Regina were able to see each other again. Already fearing the separation, Emma squeezed Regina a little harder and kissed her temple.

"¡Cuidadoso! ¡Casi derramé mi batido!"

"Sorry, sorry," Emma hastily loosened her grip around Regina. "I'm sorry, beautiful girl."

"Me, too. You nearly came between me and my milkshake. How dare you try and come between true love?"

True love? Emma huffed and jokingly threatened: "I am going to take that milkshake away from you!"

"We both know you wouldn't dare," Regina brushed her off.

That was true. Emma wouldn't dare.

That was when a nurse poked his head out of a door to the left and called: "Regina Mills?"

"." Regina grabbed her crutches and stood from the chair.

Emma was on her feet quickly too. She could only admire how fast Regina was moving as she walked towards the nurse. Someone was eager to have the cast taken off her foot. Emma could understand why. It had been some long six weeks for Regina.

The nurse showed them into a small consultation room. Regina was asked to 'hop' onto a cot. The nurse asked her a couple of questions about her foot. In English, bless him.

"No, it doesn't hurt," Regina said quickly. "The cast is just irritating, that's all."

"I can imagine so." The nurse found a pair of scissors and instructed Regina to keep still.

"I'm going to miss the artwork, though," Regina mused as she looked down at the cast the nurse was in the midst of cutting through.

"Wanna keep it?" Emma teased.

"Sí, maybe I do actually."

Emma followed Regina's gaze and looked at the cast the nurse currently was cutting through. It was a long time since the cast had been white. There was a million little scribbles and scrawls on it. The two planes Emma had drawn six weeks ago when the cast was brand-new. Cutesy declarations of love. Stick figures that was just supposed to be Emma and Regina holding hands. A drawing of a little baby popping his head up from a pram. Above his head, Emma had drawn a speech balloon, and inside of it, she had written 'I'm waiting for you, mommy!'. Regina had laughed and laughed when she saw it. She had also drawn a little house on a beach. As Regina said, she had drawn the future.

But Emma wasn't the only one who had drawn and written on Regina's cast. Henry had been creative with a pencil too. He was actually quite creative with a pencil. His stick-men was definitely better than Emma's. And way more detailed too. There was especially two of the stick-figures Emma had swooned over. The first one was a little girl with her dark hair arranged in two pigtails, and the second one was of a little boy with the same dark hair and big dark eyes. When asked about it, he had revealed that it was the two versions of Regina's baby he envisioned in his mind. Emma had obviously fawned about that.

Lily had gotten the honor of drawing on the cast too. She had actually looked honored. In huge block letters, she had written 'SEE YOU SOON SISTER' on the side of Regina's cast. Regina had found that to be hilarious.

But now there would be no more drawing on Regina's cast. Because it was coming off. Right now.

"There we go," the nurse said as he grabbed the bottom of Regina's foot. "You should be able to wiggle your foot free now, miss Mills."

Regina wiggled her foot, and sure enough, her foot slipped right out of the cut through cast. The nurse put the scissors away and took her foot in his hands. "Does this hurt?" he asked as he pressed down on a spot on her ankle.

"No."

"How about this?" He pressed down on another spot.

"No, it's fine."

"Can you move your foot up and down for me?"

Regina obediently moved her foot up and down. She looked slightly amused when the nurse asked her to wiggle her toes, but she nevertheless did as instructed.

"Is that in anyway painful for you?" The nurse asked.

"No, not at all."

"Good. Let's see you walk around a little."

Emma stepped forward and helped her girlfriend off the cot. She almost got nervous seeing Regina walk around without her crutches. And actually walking rather than limping. Emma smiled. It was almost strange to see her walk around without the crutches.

"How does that feel?" The nurse asked Regina.

"My foot's a bit stiff." Regina answered. "But it doesn't hurt."

"Good. Try and take it a bit easy the first week. Don't put too much strain on your foot, alright?"

"Alright," Regina didn't seem overly satisfied with being told to take it easy. Emma could see the glimmer of annoyance in her dark eyes, and it was difficult for her not to laugh. Regina looked so vexed, bless her.

"Well, the fracture has healed completely. You have no need for those anymore." He smiled as he glanced at her crutches.

"¡Perfecto!" Regina exclaimed as she spun around quickly.

"Careful," Emma muttered quietly. The next second she cringed at the look Regina gave her. Oops. She probably shouldn't tell Regina to be careful.

Regina shook the young nurse's hand and smiled dazzlingly at him. Emma tilted her head and was pretty sure she saw the young guy blush a little. Another person falling victim to Regina's pretty smile. Poor fellow.

Immediately after the appointment with the nurse, they had to half-hurry to Regina's next appointment. Which was with Doctor Rivera. In the hallway, they nearly ran into Henry, who true to his word, had shown up just in time.

"Reggie," he said fondly as he gave his daughter a hug.

"Dad," Regina said a bit flatly. "What did I tell you about calling me 'Reggie'?"

"I can't remember, Cielo. I'm an old man, sometimes my memory fails me," he teased and kissed the top of her head.

Regina scoffed and rolled her eyes. But smiled when Henry hugged Emma and kissed her twice on each cheek.

"Well, Reggie, what did they say about your foot? I see that the cast is gone."

"Sí, my foot is fine now. No more cast. And no more crutches."

"And you managed to enchant the nurse," Emma whispered and felt very witty.

"Huh?"

"Nothing."

Regina shrugged and turned her attention back to her father. "The nurse said that I had to take it easy for a little while, but the fracture is all healed."

"Oh, that's wonderful news, Cielo!" Henry smiled at her. "And are we ready to see how my grandchild is doing?"

"More than ready," Emma and Regina said in unison. Then laughed.

After a moment, the doctor called Regina's name, and both Emma and Henry followed her.

"I see that the whole family is here today," the doctor smiled. "Qué bonito. Take a seat, Regina. Can't have you standing up for too long in your condition."

"Hear, hear," Emma muttered. And once again, Regina glared at her. Emma gave her her sweetest, goofiest smile and hoped that Regina wouldn't get too annoyed at her. She couldn't help being overly protective.

Once Regina was sitting down, Doctor Rivera asked her a couple of questions about how she was doing. Regina answered truthfully. That she was doing fine, but occasionally suffered with breathlessness. "And Braxton Hicks," she said and wrinkled her nose. "Which is very annoying. And inconvenient most of the time." She cleared her throat. With her dad in the room, she obviously could not say when the false labor pains was a problem.

"Braxton Hicks is unfortunately a very common thing in the third trimester," the doctor said. "But there are things you can do to lessen the pain. I highly recommend taking a bath or getting a massage."

"Done," Emma said immediately and vowed to give Regina a massage as soon as they got home. Whether she was experiencing Braxton Hicks or not.

This time, Regina smiled instead of looking annoyed. Emma reckoned that she had been forgiven.

Doctor Rivera measured Regina's blood pressure, and Regina looked adorably proud when the doctor told her that her blood pressure was perfect.

"Well done, beautiful girl," Emma chimed in. "You're acing this pregnancy thing!"

Regina laughed. "You make me sound like some sort of superhero, querida."

"Well, you are a superhero. You're literally creating life. In my book, that's pretty superhero-esque."

"What Emma says," Henry chuckled.

"Los dos estáis locos."

"Huh?" Emma turned to Henry. "What did she just say?"

"That we're both crazy," Henry said and chuckled again.

"Hey!" Emma protested.

Regina ignored her and only focused on the doctor who currently was asking her to lie down on the cot. Because now it was time to listen to the baby's heartbeat.

This was what Emma had been looking forward to, and she eagerly stepped forward and took Regina's hand. Just like she always did for these appointments.

Regina used her free hand to lift her shirt to bare her round belly. It was sticking up so adorably Emma just had to smile. She wanted to touch it. Wanted to caress it until the baby kicked, but she couldn't do that right now. Not when they were at the doctor's.

"Alright, are we ready to see how baby is doing?" the doctor asked and smiled.

"Yes!"

"!"

"What they said," Regina quipped.

"Excellent. Here comes the gel."

Gel was applied to Regina's stomach, and Regina squirmed a little. "Why am I never prepared for how cold it is?"

Emma grinned and squeezed her hand. She watched in fascination as Doctor Rivera moved the doppler across Regina's belly. Then she remembered that she was supposed to look at the screen, and when she did, she squeezed Regina's hand a little extra, because there their baby was. My, how it had grown! Emma felt positively gooey as she looked transfixed at the screen. The picture was grainy, but that didn't matter. She could still see their baby. Could see the way he (or she) was lifting a fist.

"He's waving at us," she announced and grinned from ear to ear. "Look, beautiful girl!"

"Nuestro hermoso bebé," Regina said softly as she looked at the screen. "¡No puedo esperar para conocerte!"

Emma did understand her, but she did not ask for a translation. She didn't want to ruin this beautiful moment where Regina looked at the screen with so much love in her eyes. She too was completely transfixed. Her eyes even looked a bit misty.

"The baby is thriving," the doctor said. Her voice was gentle as though she didn't want to break the spell either. "Growing exactly as he- or she- is supposed to. Completely healthy."

"Ay, Cielo," Henry breathed. "¡Ese es tu bebé! ¡Mi nieto! ¡Casi no puedo creerlo!"

"Será mejor que lo creas, viejo," Regina said a bit hoarsely, but in that tone suggesting that she was teasing.

Emma didn't ask for a translation for that either. She just stared herself blind at the screen. "He is beautiful, Regina," she said, completely besotted with the baby on the screen. "The prettiest baby in the entire world!"

"You're biased, querida. And 'he' could be a 'she'."

", with the way he- or she- is positioned in the picture, it is impossible to tell," the doctor chimed in. "But I can understand that you don't want to know the sex, is that correct?"

"That's correct," Regina confirmed. "We want it to be a surprise."

"He looks just like you, Cielo," Henry said, and his eyes sparkled as he leaned forward slightly."

"Daddy," Regina scoffed and laughed. "You can't possibly tell from looking at the screen! The baby isn't even… done!"

"Pretty damn close though," Emma pointed out. The next second, her heart was melting when she saw their baby open its little mouth. "Oh my god," she breathed. "Was that a yawn?"

"It sure looks like it," Doctor Rivera smiled. "Would you like to listen to the baby's heartbeat now?"

"!" Regina said before either Emma or Henry could get the chance to say anything.

Doctor Rivera moved the doppler to a different spot on Regina's belly.

Emma waited with bated breath. Waited until….

Ba-doom, ba-doom, ba-doom, ba-doom.

She grinned like an idiot as the whooshing sound of their baby's heartbeat reached her ears. Oh, what a sweet, sweet sound that was! Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. She squeezed Regina's hand tightly. Now Emma was the one to feel a bit emotional. She had no idea why she was reacting like this now when she had been fine when seeing the image of their baby on the screen, but oh well. She wasn't about to try and find a rational explanation. Getting emotional was just a part of it.

"What a wonderful sound," Henry said and spontaneously gave Regina a kiss on the forehead.

Regina flashed him a smile. Then she found her phone in her pocket. Emma saw how she opened her camera and switched to video function. She was recording the baby's heartbeat, and Emma made a point of being quiet while Regina filmed. After about a full minute, Regina stopped the recording, but Emma kept her eyes on her. She saw how Regina glanced at her dad. He was currently chitchatting with the doctor and wasn't paying to attention to her.

But Emma was. And she saw how Regina attached the recording of the baby's heartbeat to a message. In the message, she wrote 'Everything went well. Short and straight to the point. Then she sent the message. To Cora. She didn't make a big deal out of it, but once she was done, she turned her head and looked at Emma. Caught her looking.

Emma flashed her a little smile. She was actually glad that Regina was sending the video to Cora. Regina still hadn't given up when it came to communicating with Cora.

Regina glanced at Henry and frowned. Emma squeezed her hand. She knew exactly what Regina was thinking. That Cora needed to come forward with her secret, so Regina didn't have to keep lying to her father.

"Well, I think that concludes today's appointment, Regina," Doctor Rivera interrupted Emma's train of thoughts. "Do you have any questions for me?"

"No, I think we've covered everything. Don't you agree, querida?"

"Absolutely," Emma answered. Regina and the baby was healthy as could be. That was all she needed to know.

"You can schedule your thirty week appointment with the secretary on your way out," the doctor said as she wiped Regina's stomach. "And start thinking about a birth plan and what kind of pain relief you'd like on the big day. And I can recommend that you consider Lamaze classes. You'll be taught the proper breathing technique-"

"We're already on that," Emma said and interrupted even though it was a bit rude. "I mean, we've talked about that already. Right, Regina?"

", querida," Regina said a tad overbearingly as she sat up and tugged her shirt back down where it belonged. "We just have to figure out if we should be taking classes here or in Storybrooke. " She frowned. "Or in both places."

"Fuck long distance," Emma muttered under her breath.

"," Regina wholeheartedly agreed with her. She hopped off the cot and shook Doctor Rivera's hand. "Thank you, doctor."

"You are most welcome, Regina," the doctor smiled. "I am happy to see you up and about after the fall you took. Don't forget to schedule your thirty week appointment."

"I won't," Regina promised. She smoothened a hand over her belly. Then winced. She probably had to pee again. She did that a lot these days..

In the parking lot, they parted ways with Regina's father. He had to go back to work, he revealed. Had taken some time off in the middle of the morning just so he could go with Regina for her appointment. Which was adorable although Regina of course chastised him for it and told him that his job was important.

"Not as important as you, Cielo," he said as he kissed her cheek. "You are my top priority." He turned to Emma. "I trust I will see you soon, Emma, dear?"

"Of course. You know me. I can't keep away!" Emma laughed as she too was hugged and kissed on the cheek.

Henry said goodbye one more time. Then he climbed inside his car and drove away.

"And what are we going to do, beautiful girl?" Emma asked once they were alone on the parking lot. "More milkshake?"

"No." Regina winked at her in a most seductive manner, and her voice dropped an octave or two when she continued: "You promised me that we could go back to bed…"

Oh. "So I did," Emma smirked and felt how her heart started racing at the idea of going back to bed with Regina again. "Is that what you want to do?"

"Mhmm," Regina drawled and tugged a lock of hair behind her ear. "It sure is."

"Well. You've got yourself a deal then, beautiful girl." Back to bed. With Regina. All day. Fuck yes! Emma couldn't wait for that!

Regina laughed as they got inside the car, and Emma once again cussed the long distance. Why oh why, did he have to go back to Storybrooke in just a few days? It really wasn't fair! She just wanted to stay with Regina. Was that really too much to ask?

Right now, their future in California seemed so far away…
