IT'S CHANGED! (SNILY)

CHAPTER 1 Harry saves the day again

Harry was limply hung on the grave of Tom Riddle Senior. His heart thumping on his ribs which seemed to burst any moment. His forehead dripping sweat on the lashes of his eyes. The cut in his right forearm throbbing and stinging, dribbling blood made by Wormtail just a few minutes ago. The sight running in front of him was frightening, a snake-human baby's body in a large cauldron, he so desperately wanted to drown and die but he knew that wouldn't happen. He had always been lucky with his life but never with the occurrences around him. So, this time he had to something to stop making this happen even if for that he had to make some amends with the past.

Well, in the starting of the year he had nicked the time-turner from Hermione's school bag, it took a bit of his sneakiness he used in the Dursley household, but finally he was successful. He tried to get back in time and stop his name being pulled out of the Goblet of Fire but, well… as any foolish Gryffindor he thought this would make him look too cowardly.

But now was the time. Harry gathered his energy and determination and reached for the string hanging in his neck. The gold shine of the object met his eye, he was almost going dizzy now, the sweat blurring his vision and the blood loss was not helping the situation either. He knew he was holding the object the wrong way but who cared about it in a life and death situation. He just had to stop all of this. The last time they used it, it was done by Hermione, he had never known how to use it.

Perhaps, going back twenty hours will be fine, to warn everyone of what is awaiting future. And he'll surely run to Dumbledore first and tell him everything, hopefully he believes Harry. So, he began rotating the crown of the time-turner. 1… 2… 3… … … … … … 18… 19… and a stinging hex met his right forearm. His hand recoiled in pain but the time-turner still held firmly in his left hand's fingers. He knew he had been revealed but maybe, only maybe, it worked, even though he didn't complete the count.

Cedric wouldn't die if this worked, VOLDEMORT won't come back. The liquid in the cauldron in front of him was still bubbling and Wormtail's wand was poised on him. The distraction of Wormtail by the time-turner had loosed the ropes gripping Harry only a little bit but enough for him to reach for his wand. Gathering all the courage Harry pulled his wand out, "STUPEFY!" he shouted.

It knocked Worm tail out. The hope just increased in Harry to stop all this.

"ACCIO TRIWIZARD CUP!", Harry yelled again. The cup zoomed into his hand. He felt two pressures on him together now, both familiar to him. The navel pulls, told him that he had port keyed and the surroundings go round making any sane human lose his mind, told him he had time-travelled too.

Harry was dropped from the sky from who knew how many feet, but he was fine. He opened his eyes ignoring the pain by the fall. It seemed almost afternoon with the breezes hitting his face gently. He was standing on the Quidditch Pitch. He would have flown to get rid of all of his anxiety only if the situation wasn't so dire and had to be rectified soon. He was back in time and on Hogwarts grounds now, the only thing left to do was to notify Dumbledore and explain everything.

He broke into a run, out of the Quidditch Pitch, there were younger students running beside the lake and some sitting there enjoying the sun and the older one had their heads hanging over huge books. Some perhaps had their exams going on in the great hall right now, he guessed. He envied them.

A girl came running to him with huge cloudy brown eyes, the glasses made them look even bigger and her blonde hair seemed almost everywhere with a frown gracing her features. The batch on the left chest with an eagle showed she was a Ravenclaw. He knew he had to escape the girl, didn't want to waste time with people calling him the boy-who-lived. But something was odd in this girl. He had never seen her… or had he? She looked older than him, probably in the 7th year.

"What are you doing here, don't you have the OWLs, everyone writing in?" she asked sternly, her eyes looking even bigger from here.

"Umm… well 4th year don't have OWLs… and I certainly don't have exams." He said, confused by what the girl wanted.

She viewed him critically. He blushed under the gaze, knowing he must be looking a right sight with soaked in blood and sweat.

She spoke again. "James Potter, don't try to fool me, if this is another of your pranks, I'm not interested, go in now or else I will be going to Professor McGonagall" Sounding more confident then she looked.

"WHAT?! James Potter? I'm Harry, Harry Potter… oh, perhaps you- well I do look a lot like my father." He said looking at the girl.

Her eyes widened comically as if a realization finally struck her, she looked at Harry straight in the eye, looking into the soul. "NO! No, you're not James, you're his son… Harry Potter"- well everyone knew that, Harry thought- "you have come back, come back to put the evils into place and change the ending… the future to something better and more beautiful" she took Harry by hands, still looking into his eyes speaking with her misty voice. "You sacrifice yourself and save the world, brave, very brave of you… you have the courage only few can dare to possess, this world will remember you as the Giver of life and your gifts will be marked above all" her eyes filled with tears while she kissed his hands.

Harry looked at her perplexed… well that was dramatic. This way of speaking sounded familiar. But he had to do what he came for, tell Dumbledore… only if she leaves his hands and let him go.

"Well… umm… thank you? I have to go… who are you by the way?" he asked awkwardly.

"Of course, you may go, and I'm Ravenclaw Head girl, Trelawny, Sybill Trelawny." She said wiping her eyes.

"What?!" the voice of her did sound familiar and now he knew why. But, how much back in time did he come where Trelawny was a head girl? "what's the year, if you don't mind telling?"

"Oh, its 1976… well you must be going now" she answered.

He nodded to her and began walking absent-mindedly, lost in thought. If he goes by the records Trelawny was an old fraud, everyone knew that. But she had predicted Wormtail running away and bringing his master back correctly which was coming to life in front of Harry only minutes ago. Without giving more thought over it he ran to Dumbledore's office.

"Cockroach clusters" he guessed, and the gargoyle moved, he certainly had become good at guessing this.

"Come in Mr. Potter" a voice came from the office.

Harry would never know how Dumbledore does this. He walked in and met a familiar long white bearded jovial smiling face with the ever-blue twinkling eyes. Dumbledore sat behind his table and gestured harry to take a seat.

And suddenly like a blow of punch in his face realization struck him and he froze behind the chair he was about to sit in. He was nineteen years back in time… this Dumbledore didn't know anything about him… there was a lot to explain… he thought that Harry was James. He groaned internally; this was going to be difficult.

"Lemon drops, Mr. Potter?" Dumbledore asked pleasantly, and Harry declined politely. He nodded and went on "So, this must be very important, James, otherwise you wouldn't have been here instead of giving your DADA OWL?" he asked gently.

This has to be cleared first. He groaned again.

"Sir, you, see? I'm not James Potter, in fact I'm from the future, his son, Harry Potter. So, you, see? I was in a very serious situation, would perhaps have been dead… but I had nicked a time turner from Hermione and escaped… it was all because of that stupid Triwizard tournament and of course Harry Potter has to be involved into every non sense going on in the school…" he stopped, he knew he was making no sense. Perhaps he had to take a tad Slytherin approach towards it. Dumbledore still waiting patiently for Harry to continue.

"Well…I'm from the future so I know things which you don't, I know that the past mustn't be changed, but I think you must hold the Triwizard Tournament now so that you don't hold it later when I'm alive… anyways no one is going to believe that I didn't put my name in the goblet of fire… especially Professor Snape" he added with a grimace.

"Okay Harry, so you are from the future where a Triwizard tournament is going to be held when you are in school and someone put, you're name in the goblet of fire, you being unaware of that. Nobody believed you that you did not do any such thing. Now, one thing which intrigues me is that you mentioned Professor Snape not believing you?"

"Oh… yes, you believed me but not him. You always show a great deal of trust in him too, and you won't tell me why, you just have too must confidence in him. Well, he did save my life a few times anyway."-

Dumbledore made a mental note to keep an eye Severus Snape. According to him he was just another Slytherin who wanted to be a ranked participant under Voldemort. But as much as he remembers he also had a Gryffindor friend… well… perhaps it's something to do with her. Because if Albus Dumbledore believed someone to be trustworthy, he/she is damn trustworthy.

- "But what I believe is that you hold the Triwizard tournament now so that you can gather people for the Order and convince them to join the cause to destroy Voldemort from different countries, I mean why leave it for a later date. Because I think Voldemort wouldn't be now as powerful as he certainly will be later."

"Right, you are Harry, but you know that I cannot propose something like that to the ministry only because a 14-year-old is asking me to?"

Harry sighed, but he had a solution for this.

"I understand Sir, but you know that something which is deemed to happen in a timeline cannot be stopped from happening, so better do it now, later it's going to be extremely bad when Voldemort will be perhaps stronger than ever."

"I'll look into it, Harry, thank you for informing me, your help is greatly appreciated. Now would you like to have some rest here or return to your time?" Dumbledore asked smiling.

"Well, I think I must return now Headmaster, thank you for listening to me." Harry got up to leave when Dumbledore's voice paused him.

"I believe nobody apart from me knows that you have time- travelled, Harry?"

"Umm… Sir, well there is Professor Trelawny- I mean in the future she is the divination professor in our school, and I again don't understand why would you keep her. She again babbled something about me chasing the evil away… changing the future… giver of life… and my gift will be over everything. We know she is an old fraud -" he paused knowing that he had said enough.

But Dumbledore's eyes never faded the twinkle and he only smiled. "Do continue, Harry"

"Uh… yeah… the twist is that once her prediction has come to be true… and yes, she also boasts about being a true Seer born in a long ancestry of Seers."

"Well, thank you for telling me that too, Harry"

"You're welcome, Sir, Good day"

"Good day to you too, Harry. And Harry, do restrain yourself from meeting your parents Mr. Potter, the more people you meet, the more twisted the timeline will be. I apologise from asking you to do so" Dumbledore shook his head sadly.

"I will not Headmaster. Thank you." This was such a tempting thought but he had to keep himself from doing it, if it stops Voldemort coming back to life.

After Harry left, Dumbledore was left with two people he had to keep an eye on to see why are they so important to his future self- Severus Snape and Sybil Trelawny. Harry definitely was a Gryffindor, otherwise he wouldn't have slipped such useful information.

*Page break*

He passed the lake walking directly to the Quidditch Pitch when he saw a crowd of people collected around a tree. Perhaps, people again surrounding another poor Harry Potter, Harry had no mood watching.

He walked in the Pitch when he felt something in his left cloak pocket. He reached for it, why haven't he noticed it yet? It was his invisibility cloak. Ughhh… he could have so easily escaped Voldemort using this, but when had his mind worked rightly? No… but then he wouldn't have been able to stop him from rising so, this was done correctly.

But now when he gives a thought about his cloak. This thing had come into handy a lot of times… after all it was an invisibility cloak. But if he is hanging this Triwizard tournament on the heads of people here like a naked sword… which he can say by first-hand experience was worse than a naked sword on one's head… then he can give it for someone's help.

So, taking the decision, Harry dropped the cloak in a corner of the pitch with a note, it possibly might help the picker of it, grabbed the time-turner and disappeared in thin air, never noticing what actually was going on beside the lake.

Hope you liked and enjoyed it.
I know Harry gets to know about the Order of the Phoenix after the Triwizard Tournament but it was necessary for the plot.
