Sherlock begins to back away, his eyes filled with horror. He knew, he knew, he never should have trusted anyone. Never should have gotten involved in this "caring" thing, or that thing called "friendship."

When Mycroft Holmes offers John Watson an unnamed sum of money to spy on Sherlock, every part of John weighs in, in the space of a split second. Can be read as prequel sort of to my other fic, A Mad Existence Still Needs Payment. No Pairings.

Mycroft sends the first payment; and when it crash lands into John Watson's confused little world, he asks himself "Is it all worth it?" Could be seen somewhat as a sequel to my other Sherlock fic, 'Weighing In'. Set during 1x03. No pairings.

In which Sherlock tortures his violin, lectures John on the benefits of music history and indeed history in general, and spouts enough information on Messiaen to fill a small essay. ;; No prompt, but still a one-shot. Gen, squint-worthy pre-slash.

Sherlock nearly gets himself killed. John gets angry. They both say things they might later regret.

Mycroft is ill and turns to John for help, sparking a diagnosis, disagreement and a marriage. Rated only for a tiny bit of language.

Just how much effect has Sherlock had on John. Whilst John lies fatally ill he finally shows why he was the perfect match for Sherlock Holmes. You need to think about different aspects of this. It should have a different message for everyone of you. :
