Tori awoke to an aching head, daylight peeking through her curtains, and an unusual breeze under the bed covers against her bare skin. Her mind was racing as she tried to remember whatever happened the previous night. It wasn't until her eyes fell to Jade cuddling close by with her arm slung over Tori's chest, that she suddenly remembered everything: a heartfelt confession, feverish kisses, clothes scattering on the floor, and sweet whispers in between…other things…that made her heart race and her face flush red all over again.
Laying only a foot away from her, Jade smiled as she enjoyed the sight of Tori gradually remembering every detail of the last night. Her own face started to turn red as her eyes traveled further down and she was tempted to glide her hand against Tori's body like she had many times that night. Just as she was about to give into that temptation, Tori's hand emerged from the covers to caress her cheek.
"Hey…" Tori whispered, her breathing starting to steady again as she ran her hand through Jade's newly-brunette hair.
"Hey, yourself~" Jade replied, smiling back at her, "Did you sleep well?"
"Um…I honestly don't remember sleeping," Tori chuckled nervously, her blush reappearing on her cheeks, "Not as well as…everything else, I mean."
Jade hummed sweetly, drawing back her arm to squeeze Tori's hand on her cheek, "Good to know our first time really was special; just like you wanted, right?"
Letting out another soft laugh, Tori nodded, scooting a few inches forward and feeling her knees bump against Jade's. "It was…unbelievably special. Even better than you see on—" Her brain caught up with her mouth as she quickly shut it before finishing that sentence, but Jade heard enough to make her laugh out loud.
"Oh my~" she teased with her wicked grin, "Sweet little Tori's not so innocent, after all? Do I need to take a look at your browsing history, babe?"
"Stop it!" Tori dug her face into her pillow in an attempt to hide her growing blush, to no avail.
Laughing again, Jade took Tori's face in her hands, rubbing her cheekbones as she smiled, "Relax, you dork! You're only human like the rest of us! I mean, you never even wondered why my favorite movie is…"
"Oh," Tori gulped, "Well…now I know." She smiled back awkwardly and closed the gap between them with a quick kiss. "But all joking and teasing aside…last night really was amazing, Jade."
Jade grinned and pulled Tori back in, giving her a deeper, more passionate kiss; the likes of last night. After a few seconds, they broke away, with Jade giving a wink as she replied, "It really was. I'm glad you liked it…because I loved it~" She sat up and stretched her arms, letting the covers fall from her chest-eliciting a blush from Tori's face. "Now then, we can either get some breakfast, or...we could stay in a little longer, if you know what I-"
Jade was interrupted by a black, lacy bra suddenly flying in her direction. As it landed over her covered lap, both of them looked up to see Tara, sitting in Tori's chair and sipping a cup of coffee from across the room. She smiled and raised her cup to them casually, "Hey, Tori! Hey, Jade! You two have a good time last night?"
The couple immediately shot up with their backs against the headboard and holding the bed covers up to their necks, eyes widened at Tara acting surprisingly calm in front of them.
"Tara!" Tori was first to speak—or rather, squeal—up, "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Um…" Tara shrugged, giving the lid of her cup a quick tap, "I'm drinking coffee. Really good, too." She took another calm sip, as if nothing odd was happening.
"What are you doing in our…in Tori's room?!" Jade scowled, trying to hook her bra back on while staying covered.
"Oh, yeah…" Tara cleared her throat, set her coffee cup down on the desk next to her, and took out her phone to read a message. "So, remember how Nora and Piper invited you both to dinner to celebrate the showcase going so well? Since you said you wanted to go straight home, they decided to celebrate today; this morning, to be exact! They dropped me off here to wake you two up while they went to get brunch to-go!"
Tori and Jade, still totally red in the face, started to race from the bed to grab any clothes they could in a rush to get dressed; not caring anymore that Tara was the sole audience to their state of undress.
"How did you get in the apartment?! We locked it as soon as we got home last night!"
"Found your spare key in the gnome by the door, just like you showed me before."
"How did you get in this room?! We locked…oh."
"Oh, this room wasn't locked; probably for the same reason Jade is in this room, too, right~?"
"So you just sat there like a creep instead of waking us up?!"
"I'll admit, it surprised me to see you both in Tori's room—let alone in her bed…but then again, it wasn't so surprising, all things considered; and you both looked so peaceful, I didn't want to ruin that…at least not right away~"
"Wait!" Tori suddenly halted as she threw on a clean t-shirt, "How long ago did they drop you off?"
"A half-hour ago," Tara looked at her phone to confirm the time, "Oh, and they just texted that they're pulling back up now!"
"DAMMIT!" Jade, still wearing just her undergarments—as her clothes last night were still scattered and no clothes of Tori's fit her—dashed past Tara, out of the room, and into her own with a slam of the door.
With a heavy sigh, Tori finished pulling up a pair of pajama pants and walked up to Tara, "Look, I…I'm sorry you had to see that, Tara. As you might imagine, last night was really…impromptu, but we'd appreciate it if you didn't tell Jade's mom!" She clapped her hands together, trying to put on a smile as Tara got up before her.
"Hey, I get it," she chuckled, "Honestly, I'm happy for you both. You both did a really great job at the showcase, and you wanted to celebrate it. Besides, you're both 18 and in love and all that, so…" Tara cleared her throat—and the awkwardness—and turned back toward the door, "Come on, we should at least help them get the table set when they come in." She almost reached the door when something grabbed her wrist suddenly and turned her back around. Tara was about to react with a shout, but Tori's arms around her in a tight hug muffled her quickly.
"Hey," Tori whispered in Tara's ear before backing up and patting her on the shoulder, "You did a really great job, too, Tara. I couldn't have had a better back-up singer than you back there with me, so this celebration brunch is for all of us, okay?"
Tara simply nodded with a slight blush. With a smile across both their faces, they emerged from Tori's room just in time to see Jade burst out of her room in a hastily thrown together outfit of a black long-sleeved shirt barely covering over her light, blue shorts.
She looked at both of them with a brief glare that silently said, "Not a word," as the front door opened to Piper and Nora, both holding up bags from the diner. The three girls greeted them with smiles and hugs as they gathered around the table to set up their celebration; together as their own little found family made in Miami.
