This is quite a dark fic, it contains kidnap, rape (although not graphic descriptions), suicidal thoughts, and the long process of recovery. Reader digression is advised.

Chapter 1

Arizona finished work exhausted. It had been another 18-hour day of back-to-back surgeries doing fetal medicine. Herman had left Seattle blinded by her life saving brain surgery and gone to a specialist centre to learn how to cope with her condition. Leaving Arizona as the sole fetal surgeon in Seattle, and one of 9 east of the Mississippi and if Nicole was to be believed one of the best in the country, despite being new to the field. It meant lots of referrals, long hours, and lots of surgeries, as well as still picking up the slack from Peds. Today she had managed 7 surgeries with only 2 quick breaks for food and bathroom breaks she felt drained, a banana, half a sandwich and 2 cups of coffee wasn't enough. She needed to go home, have a bath and something to eat, before sleeping for days. Deliberately she had nothing booked in for the next few days, so was only on calls for emergencies with her staff warned it better be a proper emergency, that was fetal, not gynae or obstetrics. Her emergency was some food, a bath, and lots of sleep and not necessarily in that order. Sofia was at Callie's for the weekend, so she had a long stretch of doing nothing ahead of her.

Reaching the car Arizona unlocked it pausing to check her phone. She had text Callie to find out if she could video call Sofia tonight and was waiting a reply. Feeling a presence behind her Arizona turned only to feel a sharp scratch in her neck. She went to rub it but the world wobbled, her body not obeying her.

She was falling, her body was heavy, she hit the floor and car door hard sending her prosthetic flying. Lying on the floor a figure in black searched her body removing her phone and purse pocketing it them, before throwing the keys underneath the car.

Then someone was lifting her, carrying her. There was nothing she could do to fight, she was awake but unable to move, her back and shoulder ached from where she had landed on the rough ground. Her hand swung gently hitting the legs of whoever was carrying her.

"Don't worry Dr Robbins, it's okay" the person carrying her said. Arizona tried to place the voice; it was familiar, a male voice. But her head felt to woolly to place it. She was thrown in the boot of a car before the boot closed and the world went dark.

She could hear him getting into the car and the engine starting, she was being taken away, there was nothing she could do. She just hoped somebody noticed. Someone would notice she told herself. Arizona just had no idea how long it would take. She lived with an intern who was barely home, she was barely home, even if he was home her not being there wouldn't be abnormal, all she could hope was they bleeped her and sent someone to investigate when she didn't answer. If they didn't bleep her tomorrow then it might be Monday when she was missed, as she had the weekend off. Her body was numb, whatever he had given her had stopped her being able to move, unable to scream, to cry, to do anything Arizona tried to remember anything she had every been told or seen about surviving a kidnapping. Trying to count the turns proved impossible as did timing the distance her mind feeling too fuzzy to focus on anything.

The car stopped, and the boot opened, she tried to have a good look at her abductor, her vision still blurry, she could make out a face, white with brown hair, before she could see any more details she was lifted out of the boot and slung over a shoulder getting a view on the floor and his blue jean. She hung limply still unable to move, unable to fight. As she was carried down what looked like hospital corridors. Then she was on the floor roughly dumped, handcuffs were attached tightly to each wrist and her trousers ripped apart and her prosthetic leg pulled off. She tried to move, to fight but her limbs, and head felt so heavy she couldn't even sit up or move her head.

Arizona could see from her position was a surgical tray drawing up and needle and syringe, she could hear footsteps approaching and a sharp sting in her neck, but could do nothing to protest still unable to move as she tried to fight the sleep that was overwhelming her, as the world went black.
