Chapter 5: Macho DeDeDe
Kirby, Marx, Magolor, and Bandana Dee lost the Jamba Heart they were tracking down. However, they seem to have discovered a large white structure.
Magolor- Damn it! The Jamba Heart got away! Who knows what it could do if someone else finds it.
Tiff- Hang on…what is this structure?
Kirby, Marx, Bandana Dee, and Magolor saw this white structure.
Kirby- This place…it seems so…familiar…
Marx- Same here. It feels familiar to me as well.
Magolor took a closer look and seem to recognize the design as well.
Magolor- This appears to be Halcandrain design…like my Lore Starcutter. I recognize their craft. Yet…this place has a mixed feel to it. Like it's warm and comforting…yet sad at the same time. I don't know how else to describe it.
Kirby wasn't sure why, but he felt compelled to enter this strange structure.
Bandana Dee- Hey Kirby, where are you going?
(Inside the Dream Palace)
Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, Marx, Bandana Dee, and Magolor walked inside this structure. It seemed like a place of worship for gods, yet the place seemed like a safe haven. It appeared to be made out of marble from the inside with a lovely pond similar to that of a garden. There were also thirteen marble pillars around the circumference of the room, each with a little heart emblem on it. But what got Kirby's attention was this glowing rod in the center of the room. It seemed to be calling to Kirby as he moved towards it.
Tuff- Kirby?
Kirby- That shining rod…this has Kimberly's power inside of it.
Marx- What makes you say that? Her time was a 1,000 years ago.
Kirby- Because I've felt her power once before. Back when Perfect Tabuu attacked, Marco and the rest of the original team came back to this world to lend us a fighting chance against Tabuu. That included Kimberly. And while her power was definitely similar to mine, there was still a slightly different feel to hers.
Magolor- This structure…this must be Kimberly's Dream Palace I've read about.
Tiff- Dream Palace?
Magolor- According to the ancient books I've read in the library at the Crystal Monastery, Kimberly used this place as a way to hide from the God of the Void and sage her attacks against him. It was also where the God of the Void tried to imprison Kimberly.
Tiff- Hold on! Imprison? He didn't try to possess like he did with Marco? That doesn't make any sense. Why lock her up instead of adding her to his troops?
Magolor- Uh…not sure really…
Tiff moves up to Magolor and glares at him.
Tiff- You're hiding something, Magolor. You know something that we don't.
Magolor- Really, I don't! I know next to nothing about the God of the Void! I know that he did something thousands of years ago, even before Halcandra was formed, that the Lord of the Universe banished him from the gods, sent him to the darkest parts of the galaxy, and did everything in his power to erase all records about him. Even Kyrin was too young to remember what happened. Kyrin said he seemed like a nice man when he visited the Crystal Monastery, but when he asked his father why he stopped visiting, the Lord of the Universe told him to never speak of him again. So, finding out anything about him is not easy. And this one time, I was this close to learning more about this God of the Void, but the Lord of the Universe grabbed me by the neck and told me to drop the book I was reading. And he always manages to stop me every time I tried to learn more.
Bandana Dee- In short, the Lord of the Universe want everyone to forget about this God of the Void. Must've been really bad if the leader of the gods would take those extreme measures.
Magolor- But anyway, I believe this is where we can find the other Dream Friends. That little thing is called the Dream Rod. It was how Kimberly managed to call her Dream Friends whenever she needed to.
Marx- But the original Dream Friends like Jayx aren't around anymore.
Bandana Dee- How do you know this Jayx was a Dream Friends?
Kirby- It's still glowing with energy. Even after a 1,000 years. I wonder…
Kirby reached out for this Dream Rod and a suddenly admitted a bright light.
(In the forests of Popstar)
A large purple resting in a nest in a tree while trying to hide from all the chaos happening to Popstar. Suddenly, a bright light was coming from his body.
Coo- What in the…?! What's happening?!
(In a small meadow on Popstar)
An orange hamster with white fur around his belly was hiding in a barn with a pink female hamster. Outside the barn were several enemies that had gone mad with the Jamba Hearts.
Pick- Rick…I'm scared!
Rick- It'll be ok, shela. I won't let anything happen to you. Promise, Pick.
Then Rick looks out the window again while keeping his back to the wall next to it.
Rick- I'm sure my mate Kirby will get us out of this mess like he always does for Popstar. Whatever this mess is, anyway…
Then Pick noticed Rick was starting to glow.
Pick- Uh…Rick…
Rick- What the bloody hell?!
(In the oceans of Popstar)
A small fish blue fish with yellow fins was sleeping under some coral. Suddenly, his body began to glow as he woke from his slumber.
Kine- Wha…is it morning already?
(Back at the Dream Palace)
A bright light was shining from the Dream Rod.
Tuff- My eyes!
Banana Dee- Why is this so bright?!
When the light from the Dream Rod faded, Rick, Coo, and Kine were now in the Dream Palace.
Rick- What the?
Kine- Uh…How did I end up here when I was taking a nap back in my home in the ocean?
Kirby- Rick, Kine, Coo?
Coo- Kirby?
Rick- Sorry to ask you, Kirby mate, but what just happened?! I remember me and Pick were hiding in a barn from all the trouble out there, but then I suddenly end up here in this strange palace.
Then Kirby gives Rick, Kine, and Coo a brief description as to what happened.
Coo- Sounds like you have one fine mess to clean up.
Rick- But what about Pick? She's now alone in that barn!
Kirby- Oh…guess I didn't think about that!
That's when to Susie, Adeleine, Ribbon, and Gooey arrived at the Dream Palace. But they also had Yoshi with them who was tied up and with a muzzle over his face.
Ribbon- Good thing we saw that bright light or we might not have known where to find you, Kirby.
Adeleine- We found Yoshi, but he appears to be even worse than we expected.
Susie- Hold on, where did they come from?
Then Kirby and Magolor briefly explained about the Dream Palace and the Dream Rod and how it summoned Rick, Coo, and Kine.
Coo- Still doesn't explain why it brought us here.
Kirby- Well…I spoke to the Dream Rod…and believe it or not…it thinks I'm Kimberly.
Everyone gasped when Kirby told them that.
Kirby- And I guess you three must've had a similar energy reading to someone from the Dream Friends Kimberly set up, thinking you are them like how it believes I'm Kimberly.
Then everyone's attention returned to Yoshi as they heard him struggling against his restraints.
Tiff- Maybe we should talk after you've removed the Jamba Heart's corruption from Yoshi.
Kirby- Good idea.
Then Kirby created a friend heart, however this one had to be much larger them the ones he created earlier, since Yoshi was much stronger than a Poppy Bros. Jr. Once Kirby hit Yoshi with the Friend Heart, the dark aura surrounding him faded and a large Jamba Heart exited his body. The Jamba Heart began to fly out of the Dream Palace as fast as the one that flew out of Whispy Woods. But before they could go after it, everyone noticed Yoshi was back to normal.
Yoshi- Kirby…?
Kirby- Yoshi, is that you?
Yoshi- Uh…why Yoshi tied up on floor?
Kirby and the others explained to Yoshi what happened while untying him and removing the muzzle around his face.
Yoshi- Last think Yoshi remember is crystal going into me and Mario's after Mario hit with sword.
Palutena (telepathically to Kirby)- Say Kirby…think you can do a few more?
Kirby- Palutena?
Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- And let's not forget about the lovely Goddess of Nature. But right now, we need you to do something for us Kirby.
Just then, a large flying creature landed outside the Dream Palace.
(Outside the Dream Palace)
Kirby and the others rushed outside and saw the legendary Poke'mon, Ho-Oh, standing outside the Dream Palace. But what was even stranger what he had Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit tied up and had Pikachu in what appeared to be a little bird cage. Like Yoshi, they too were being possessed by a Jamba Heart and were viciously fighting back against their restraints.
Ho-Oh- Hello again, Kirby.
Marx- Isn't that the legendary Poke'mon that Prince Calmly had?
Susie- He is, but what's Ho-Oh doing on Popstar?
Ho-Oh- You can thank Palutena and Viridi for bringing me here. They informed me about the situation and I arrived to help Master Ash. Finding Pit and Donkey Kong along the way was extra, but I still couldn't let them run wild.
Kirby- You know, I was wondering why you two goddesses were being so silent for so long.
Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- Sorry for keeping you in the dark, but we have been trying to find where Mario and the others might be.
Palutena (telepathically to Kirby)- But we've also been keeping tabs on you in case you needed assistance.
Ho-Oh- But do you think you can help Master Ash and the others I brought to you?
Kirby managed to create a Friend Heart that was even larger than the one he used for Yoshi. This giant heart managed to purify Donkey Kong, Ash, Pit, and Pikachu in one shot. However, Kirby dropped to the ground from exhaustion after creating that friend heart.
Bandana Dee- Kirby! Are you ok?!
Kirby- It seems using whatever power is inside of me to create Friend Hearts seems to drain me of a lot of energy…
Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- We can help you with that!
Palutena (telepathically to Kirby)- Power of restore!
Then a green light shined on Kirby and he was feeling good as new.
Kirby- That's much better.
Donkey Kong- I feel so…funky…
Pit- Guys…what are we doing here?
Then Kirby gave Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit a brief explanation on what happened while Tiff, Tuff, and Susie untied them and Gooey let Pikachu out of the cage.
Ash- Sounds like some crazy shit is going down.
Pikachu- Pika…
Rick- But there's still Pick who I left in that barn unprotected!
Kirby- Ok then, Rick. How about you, Coo, and Kine go back to that barn and bring her to the Dream Palace where she'd be safer.
Rick- Ok, that sounds good to me, mate.
Yoshi- Yoshi go too! They might need help in fighting bad guys.
Kirby- Mario, Luigi, Link, Sonic, Ty, and Shantae are still out there and are probably possessed by the Jamba Heart. Marx, Adeleine, Ribbon, and Gooey, you see if you can figure out where Mario and the others are.
Ribbon- Sure thing, Kirby!
Kirby- And there are still the other Jamba Hearts corrupting the other citizens of Popstar. Magolor, Susie, and Bandana Dee, try to find any leads as to where other Jamba Hearts might be.
Magolor- We're on it, Kirby!
After they all left to follow Kirby's orders, Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit approached Kirby.
Pit- You know, Kirby, you actually sounded like a leader just there.
Kirby- I guess I have my moments. That or I picked up a thing or two from being part of Mario's team for so long. But you guys are also leaders too, right?
Donkey Kong- I am the king of Kongo Jungle, but I don't know if I'm considered a leader.
Pit- I command Palutena's army and am Captain of Skyworld, but Lady Palutena is who truly leads us.
Ash- Not sure if I qualify. I just command my Poke'mon.
Pikachu- Pikachu.
Pit- And what about us? What should we do?
Kirby- There is clearly something happening at Castle DeDeDe. And that was where I was heading to at first. I think you guys should accompany me to seeing what DeDeDe has been up to.
Tiff and Tuff approached Kirby, but Kirby stopped them from leaving the Dream Palace.
Kirby- Sorry, but I think it might be safer if you stay here in the in the Dream Palace. But you maybe you can see if you can reactivate the Dream Rod to summon even more recruits to the Dream Friends.
Tuff- But Kirby…
Tiff- Maybe Kirby is right. This is starting to get too dangerous for us to keep this close.
Then Ho-Oh kneeled down in front of Donkey Kong, Kirby, Ash, and Pit.
Ho-Oh- Need a lift to Castle DeDeDe?
(In the skies above Castle DeDeDe)
Ho-Oh flew over to Castle DeDeDe with Kirby, Ash, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and Pit on Ho-Oh's back. As Ho-Oh approached the castle, several Waddle Dee's armed their bows and arrows and tried to shoot Ho-Oh down. Ho-Oh blocked with the Poke'mon move, safeguard, which also protected his passengers.
Kirby- I'm surprised you knew where to find DeDeDe's castle.
Ho-Oh- Believe it or not, I've been to planet Popstar several times back when I still served Master Calmly. But this castle was called Castle D back then.
Then Ho-Oh used hurricane knock all the Waddle Dee's to the ground. Ho-Oh landed so that Kirby and the others could get inside the castle.
Ash- Stay here, Ho-Oh. Keep the other Waddle Dee's from coming to DeDeDe's aid. And I'll call for you if I need you.
Ho-Oh- Very well, Master Ash. I could use a break after carrying Donkey Kong's weight!
Ho-Oh stretched his back and made a loud crackling sound.
(Inside King DeDeDe's throne room)
Donkey Kong, Kirby, Ash, and Pit arrived to see King DeDeDe stuffing his face like crazy next to a large pile of food, probably stolen from the Kappys.
Viridi (telepathically to Pit, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Ash)- What a slob. He certainly is the king of gluttony, that's for sure.
Kirby- This is…just like when we first fought all those years ago.
Eventually, King DeDeDe stopped eating and turned around to face Kirby, Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit. However, his eyes were suddenly red.
King DeDeDe- You came to take my food! No one takes my food and lives!
Then King DeDeDe swung his hammer at Kirby, but Donkey Kong stopped the hammer swing with his Monkey Punch. Meanwhile Pit pulled out his Palutena's Bow and landed a direct blow to DeDeDe's chest and knocked him into the air and drop his hammer. Before DeDeDe hit the ground, Ash called out his Dracovish from its poke'ball and had it catch DeDeDe in its large mouth.
Ash- Great catch, Dracovish! Now hold DeDeDe with crunch until Kirby use a Friend Heart to purify him.
Then Kirby made a friend hard and tossed it at King DeDeDe while he was still in Dracovish's mouth. However, the Friend Heart just bounce off of DeDeDe and didn't affect him at all. Suddenly, Dracovish couldn't hold DeDeDe any longer and DeDeDe got himself free before knocking Dracovish to the floor. But there was now a dark aura surrounding DeDeDe.
Kirby- That aura…just like Whispy Woods…
King DeDeDe- I've just about had it with you, Kirby! It's time for me to break out…the big guns…
Suddenly, King DeDeDe's arms and muscles suddenly grew to at least twice their size and ribbed about half of DeDeDe's outfit.
Ash- What in hell?!
Pit- YIKES! Testosterone much!
Macho DeDeDe- So you think I'm a freak? That's kind of rude!
Donkey Kong- Where did that suddenly come from?!
Kirby- It has to be the Jamba Heart! Whispy Woods was like that too when I fought him.
Then Macho DeDeDe raised his giant arms into the air and slammed them into the ground. This caused the floor in the throne room to crumble and made Kirby, Donkey Kong, Ash and his Poke'mon, and Pit to fall to the to the floor below. And it was not a pleasant landing. However, Macho DeDeDe and the pile of stolen food landed on the floor below, which looked like a hallway with an outside view.
Donkey Kong- Not the most graceful of landings.
Pit- Wish I could've used the Power of Flight to make that less painful.
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- You still have limited uses of the Power of Flight and you already used it to your limit while you were going crazy under the Jamba Heart.
Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- HAHAHAHA! And it was a scream with what you did to that Escargoon guy!
Pit- Uh…What did I do?
Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- Shame you don't remember. Let's just say you landed a bullseye with an arrow right up his backside!
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Let's just say you're better off not remembering what happened to Escargoon.
Pit- I'll take your word on it, Lady Palutena.
Then Macho DeDeDe grabbed some of the food from the pile and tossed them at the heroes.
Ash- Dracovish, use crunch!
Dragovish- Draco! Draco!
Then Dracovish opened its mouth and managed to devour the chunks of food Macho DeDeDe. However, Dracovish coughed up DeDeDe's mallet before spitting it out to the ground.
Kirby- DeDeDe's mallet?
Macho DeDeDe- Who needs hammers when you got arms like these?
Then Macho DeDeDe kissed the muscles on his arms.
Ash- Now that's just gross.
Pikachu- Pikachu.
Then Macho DeDeDe grabbed hold of the column in the middle of the area and swung on it like a party toy. This knocked Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pit, Ash, Pikachu, and Dracovish away and to the ground. When Kirby to up, he saw DeDeDe's mallet that Dracovish spat up earlier.
Kirby- Guess I need a copy ability right now. This will do.
Then Kirby inhales the mallet and transform into Hammer Kirby.
Hammer Kirby- POYO!
Hammer Kirby swung his hammer at Macho DeDeDe, but Macho DeDeDe blocked with his arms and threw Hammer Kirby with his other arm.
Ash- Dracovish, fisheous rend!
Dracovish- Draco Dracovish!
Then Dracovish rushed at Macho DeDeDe with tremendous speed. But not at Sonic speed. Macho DeDeDe managed to move out of the way before Dracovish could run him over.
Ash- Pikachu, thunderbolt!
Pikachu- Pika…CHUUUUUU!
Macho DeDeDe jumped out of the way of Pikachu's attack, but now it was heading straight for Hammer Kirby.
Ash- Oh no! Kirby, look out!
Hammer Kirby blocked with his hammer to block, but what happened surprised everyone. Instead of electrocuting Hammer Kirby, the mallet absorbed the electricity from Pikachu's attack and was now fused with electricity.
Hammer Kirby- Now this is new. POYO!
Pit rushed at Macho DeDeDe after having his Palutena's Bow take the form of two daggers and swung them at Macho DeDeDe. However, Macho DeDe Blocked with his huge arm. Then Hammer Kirby rushed in with his electric mallet. Macho DeDeDe attempted to block like he did before, but he was electrocuted when he touched the electric mallet.
Palutena (telepathically to Hammer Kirby)- That was a clever idea you came up with.
Viridi (telepathically to Hammer Kirby)- Guess it was a good think Pikachu almost zapped you. Though I still would've been mad at Ash and Pikachu if you got hurt.
While Macho DeDeDe was stunned from the electric shock, Dracovish got in close.
Ash- Dracovish, ice fang!
Dragovish- Dracovish!
Then Dracovish's teeth turned icy as it bit into Macho DeDeDe's left shoulder and froze part of Macho DeDeDe solid. Donkey Kong got up close to Macho DeDeDe and punched him in the gut with his Monkey Punch which not only shattered the ice, but knocked Macho DeDeDe into the wall. But this made Macho DeDeDe even angrier as he got back up, jumped into the air, and smashed the floor yet again. Hammer Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pit, and Ash and his Poke'mon fell through the floor and landed on the next floor under again.
Macho DeDeDe- You think a little hot air is enough to topple these guns? I'm about to squash you into a Kirby waffle and there ain't nothing you can do about it!
Hammer Kirby tried to swing his electrified hammer at Macho DeDeDe again, but he jumped out of the way instead of blocking it.
Macho DeDeDe- That trick won't work twice, Kirby!
Then Macho DeDeDe starting swinging around the two columns in the area like he did before, only he was jumping to the other column before the hit the bottom and starting from the top all over again. This was making it harder for Hammer Kirby, Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit to defend themselves.
Hammer Kirby- Hang on! I think I got an idea. But I need some fire on my hammer this time.
Ash- You need fire, I can give you that. Charizard!
Then Ash called Charizard out of his poke'ball.
Charizard- (Roar)
Ash- Use flamethrower on Kirby's little mallet right there.
Charizard- (Roar)
Then Charizard shot a stream of fire to Hammer Kirby's hammer and now it was literally on fire, similar to when Marco's sword is powered up by one of the Mario Brothers' fireballs. Then Kirby made a flaming swing to the column just as Macho DeDeDe grabbed jumped to grab the column. Now that it was on fire, it burned his hands and he screamed in pain.
Macho DeDeDe- OWCH! HOT! HOT! HOT!
After Macho DeDeDe let go and dropped to the floor, Donkey Kong quickly managed to punch Macho DeDeDe in the head and leave him dazed. Pit quickly fired several light arrows from his Palutena's and knocked Macho DeDeDe into one of the columns.
Ash- Pikachu, use iron tail!
Pikachu- Chu! Pika!
Then Pikachu's tail got all shiny as he stung it at Macho DeDeDe and knocked him into the air. Then Hammer Kirby jumped in and delivered the final blow with a flaming swing of his hammer and knocked Macho DeDeDe out. Macho DeDeDe fell to the ground and twitched in pain as his arms returned to normal and the Jamba Heart exited his body. All was saved and Kirby could return the stolen food back to Dreamland.
The End
Epilogue-
The sun was starting to set around Popstar and everyone was celebrating that this mess was finally over. The credits were beginning to roll and…
(In the theater where the stories are being played)
The entire fanfiction is suddenly frozen like someone pausing a VHS tape on the TV. Then all of a sudden, a man who looked very similar to Mario walked on the stage in the theater and looked at the audience. His face matched that of Mario, but he was dressed as a knight instead of a plumber and he even had a large sword sheathed and strapped to his left him. However, instead of a sword, he was holding a TV remote in his hand.
Marco- Hello. My name is Marco Mario, ancestor of Mario and Luigi and leader of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team that fought Tabuu 1,000 years ago. Sorry about interrupting the story like this, but this isn't the end of the story and the author knows it. For one thing, half of the Super Mario Brothers' Team, including my decedents, Mario and Luigi, are still missing after the Jamba Heart fell. Not to mention Bowser and his group were here too and we haven't explained what happened to them yet. And there's also that little cult who performed that ritual which caused this mess. Not to mention…
Then Marco sees Marx on the stage and he was trying to leave the area. However, Marco moved one hand in front of Marx and blocked his path.
Marco- And where do you think you're going?
Marx- Fanfiction is over. I'm returning to Subspace.
Marco- It is most certainly not over. I just pointed that out. Now please, get back with the others! Your job is not done yet!
Marx- Yeesh! Alright, alright! Damn! You're just as annoying as your decedent counterpart!
After Marx returns to the fanfiction, Marco turns to face the audience again.
Marco- Now where was I again…oh yes! Not to mention, you still haven't revealed what mine and my team's role was in this adventure 1,000 years ago. As you can see, you still have more to this story. Not even halfway. So if you would, tell the rest of the story and don't try to finish things off prematurely.
Then Marco pushes rewind on the remote and backed it up right at the part when the Jamba Heart was knocked out of DeDeDe's body before pressing the play button on the remote.
(Back in Castle DeDeDe)
Donkey Kong, Hammer Kirby, Ash, and Pit were celebrating at first, but then they noticed the Jamba Heart was flying away. At first, they tried to chaise after it, but then they almost run into Escargoon.
Escargoon- What the?! Watch where you're going and…
Then Escargoon sees Pit and he gets a nervous reaction.
Escargoon- The angel?! Stay away from me! I don't need another arrow under my shell! Not to mention it took the doctor forever to remove the last arrow you shot me with!
Pit- I don't remember that…
Then King DeDeDe got up.
King DeDeDe- Oh…my head…
Hammer Kirby, Donkey Kong, Ash, and Pit turned their attention to DeDeDe as he was getting up.
King DeDeDe- Feels like someone had been whacking me over the head over and over with my mallet and…
Then DeDeDe see's his mallet on fire in Hammer Kirby's hand.
King DeDeDe- Hey Kirby, what you doing with my favorite mallet and setting it on fire?!
Hammer Kirby- You don't remember anything at all, do you?
King DeDeDe- Remember what? Last think I remember was inviting Bowser and the other villains over and these strange heart things falling from the sky. I think I remember Bowser and Ganondorf telling me not to go near that thing after it nearly hit us, but the rest seems fuzzy in my head for some reason.
Donkey Kong- Hang on! Bowser and his team?!
Escargoon- We saw you making your preparations for Kirby's birthday, so his majesty invited Bowser's Team over to plan an ambush. That is until those hearts turned just about everyone on Popstar insane.
Pit- Hold the phone! You're telling me that Bowser, Medusa, and the rest of his group are here on Popstar and also running amuck like Mario and rest of the Super Mario Brothers' Team we've yet to find?
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Unfortunately so.
Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- We didn't mention this because…you were already busy enough as it was and…
Pit- Enough! God damn it!
Ash- Tell me about it! This shit just keeps getting worse. As much as I'm worried about what those Jamba Hearts are making Mario do, I'm even more worried about what it's making Bowser do.
Pikachu- Pikachu.
Charizard- (Roar)
Dracovish- Dracovish.
King DeDeDe- Jamba Heart?
Then Hammer Kirby quickly explained to what happened, including the fight against Macho DeDeDe.
King DeDeDe- Wow! I wish I could remember that! It sounded like I was a huge muscleman! But I guess that explains why most of my clothes are ripped apart. But seriously, Kirby, give me back my mallet!
Then Hammer Kirby turned back to normal Kirby and handed DeDeDe his mallet back. But then Kirby heard a voice speaking to him again.
Kimberly's voice (in Kirby's head)- The king…you'll need him too…
Kirby- Wha…
(Flashback to Castle D 1,000 years ago)
Kimberly had just fought and defeated King Big D in his castle. However, King Big D was also looking macho like DeDeDe was earlier in the chapter. Once Big D returned to normal before getting back up.
Kimberly- I see you're awake.
King Big D- What the…Kimberly?! What the hell are you doing in my castle?! And what happened to that other guy? That bigger version of you who broke into my castle asking for you?
Kimberly- You mean my father?
King Big D- You father?! Oh, that figures! First you ruin all my fun with the Mario Brothers…and now your old man busts into my castle, disintegrates 70% of my Waddle Dee's, and then puts some dark energy into my body after I told him he could go **** himself when he was demanding I tell him where you were! But for some reason, I can't remember what happened after that…
Kimberly- Uh…maybe you're better off not knowing…
King Big D- And now my back is killing me!
As King Big D stretches his back, Kimberly walked closer to King Big D.
Kimberly- Trust me…I'm not exactly friends with my father…but I can use all the help I can get…
King Big D- Forget it, Kimmy!
Kimberly- I said…I could use your help!
King Big D- And I told you to forget it! This sounds like a family feud. And thankfully, I'm not part of this family. And if you don't mind, Kimberly, I'd like to clean up the mess your insane father made all over my castle.
Kimberly- You do realize that if I can't defeat my father, he could return and corrupt your soul again.
King Big D- Then why not ask those Mario Brothers? They did beat Tabuu after all.
Kimberly- I can't because my father did the exact same thing to Marco and Loewy that he did to you! Used his power to corrupt your soul and turned you into mindless slave!
King Big D- I was his slave?!
Kimberly- You did have massive muscle, but you weren't you and were obeying my father's will.
King Big D- What that ****ing…I can't let that go unchecked! Alright, I'll help, but this alliance is only temporary! Got that?
Kimberly- I got it. POYA!
(End of flashback and back to Castle DeDeDe in the present)
Kirby snapped out of that vision.
Kirby- Kimberly…were you telling me that…but seriously…DeDeDe…
Pit- Kirby?
Kirby- I really hope I don't regret this…
Then Kirby walks up to King DeDeDe.
King DeDeDe- What do you want now, Kirby? I've got enough to deal with all the damage done to my castle.
Kirby- As much as I hate to admit it, but I can't do this on my own. I can't save the Mario's and Popstar from these Jamba Hearts on my own and you can't help Bowser and his team on your own. Perhaps you can lend us your strength.
Ash- Kirby?!
Donkey Kong- First Marx and now you want DeDeDe? Have you gone off the deep end?
King DeDeDe- What makes you think I want to help you or that I give a damn about what happens to Bowser? And I agree that trusting Marx is even crazier that trusting me!
Kirby- The danger of the Jamba Hearts are still out there. So far, I've only rescued these three and Yoshi from the Super Mario Brothers' Team. And I heard Kimberly had thirteen Dream Friends and yet I've only got Marx, Bandana Dee, Adeleine, Gooey…
King DeDeDe- Wait…Adeleine is with you?
Kirby- Yes, she was there at my party when the Jamba Hearts began raining down.
King DeDeDe- Well…I can't just let everyone's favorite painter wonder into dangerous territory without someone to protect her. Ok, Kirby, I'll agree to this…for now.
Pit- Ok…that seemed like a personality change.
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- You might find this hard to believe, but DeDeDe actually has a soft spot for Adeleine ever since their quest for the Crystal Shards. In fact, he sees Adeleine as if she's his younger sister.
Viridi (telepathically to everyone)- I'm not so sure about that since DeDeDe said he'd consider Adeleine as his bride for the Immortal Wedding Ritual.
King DeDeDe- Don't blame me! Kirby was the one who asked me that question while we were on the moon when Bowser attempted to marry Princess Peach. Escargoon, you stay here and clean up this mess while I'm gone from the castle.
After Donkey Kong, Kirby, Ash, Pit, and King DeDeDe left, Escargoon looked at all the rubble left behind from the fight and whimpered a bit.
Escargoon- You know…perhaps another arrow up the butt wouldn't be so bad…
