Chapter 9: Meta Knight's Revenge

Meta Knight- Now take up that sword…and face me, Kirby!

Kirby- I can't…I'm still weak from purifying Mario, Luigi, and Bowser…

Then a bright green light briefly shined on Kirby and Kirby was able to stand up again.

Palutena (telepathically to Kirby)- We've just managed to restore your energy again.

Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- But keep this in mind…this will be the last we'll be able to use our power to restore yours for a while. We're also drained from this as well.

Kirby- Don't worry. I'll make it count. And I think Meta Knight is the last I need to free from the Jamba Heart.

Fire Luigi- Jamba Heart?

Ty- Sorry, but no time to explain right now, mate.

Sonic- But I promise we'll tell you everything once we can.

Then Kirby inhaled the sword Meta Knight threw to the ground and transformed into Sword Kirby.

Sword Kirby- POYO!

Bowser- Hey! I still have questions!

Palutena (telepathically to Bowser)- We can talk later. Right now, you just need to know that Meta Knight is under the same influence you were recently under. And they could use your help for this one.

Bowser- Better not be wasting my time or I'll burn Skyworld like a barbeque!

Then Meta Knight jumped off the high ledge on onto the roof of the tower where Sword Kirby and the others were to begin the fight. Meta Knight extended his cape to turn into those bat wings and he glided towards Sword Kirby. Sword Kirby managed to block with his sword, but he knelt a bit, still feeling drained a bit from purifying the Mario Brothers and Bowser. But then Fire Mario swung a flaming swing with Marco's sword and knocked Meta Knight away from Kirby.

Fire Mario- You sure you're feeling ok, Kirby? I've noticed you're acting a little off.

Sword Kirby- I can't let that stop me from doing what needs to be done. Just hold down Meta Knight so I can save him like how I saved you.

Meta Knight rushed as Fire Mario, but Link blocked with the Master Sword. Then Sonic struck Meta Knight from the left with a spin dash and knocked him to the ground. Before Meta Knight could get up, Fire Luigi grabbed hold of the back of Meta Knight's head and blasted him with a fully charged fireball. Sword Kirby was about to make another Friend Heart, but Meta Knight quickly shook off the damage he took from Fire Luigi's flames.

Meta Knight- If that's how you all want to play…let's me show you what my new power can really do!

Then the dark aura around Meta Knight's body began to glow brighter as he suddenly multiplied into four Meta Knights. All four of them swung their swords, but they were luckily blocked…by a hair. Fire Mario blocked with Marco's sword, Link blocked another with the Master Sword, Sword Kirby blocked another with his sword, and Shantae blocked the last with a magic barrier spell she placed around her body.

Sonic- That was fast! Almost as fast as me!

Fire Luigi tried to jump on one of the four Meta Knights and Ty tried to throw his boomerangs at the other three, but they vanished before the attacks could hit them. Then the four Meta Knights appeared above them and summoned a swarm of huge boulders that were now falling from the sky. However, Bowser reached out and caught all the large rocks in his claws.

Bowser- I do believe you dropped these. So let me give them back to you!

Then Bowser threw all of those boulders at the four Meta Knights and it knocked them out of the sky and onto the ground. Suddenly, they reverted back to just one Meta Knight and he was stuck underneath one of the boulders.

Sword Kirby- Now's my chance! This might drain me further, but this will be worth it!

Sword Kirby managed to create a Friend Heart and toss it at Meta Knight. Sword Kirby changed back to normal Kirby and stumbled backwards before Fire Mario caught him from behind. After the Friends Heart purified Meta Knight, the Jamba Heart possessing Meta Knight jumped out of him and began to fly away.

Kirby- Oh no you don't! You're not getting away this time!

Using what little strength he could muster, Kirby stood back up, jumped into the air, and grabbed hold of the Jamba Heart. However, the power of the Jamba Heart suddenly reacted to Kirby's touch.

(Unknown area)

In a split second, Kirby's mind found itself in some kind of darkened void, similar to the Hyper Zone that once contained Zero2.

Kirby- What the?! Where am I?

But then Kirby noticed a presence lurking in the darkness. Kirby slowly turned around and got a faint glimpse of a figure. It was hard to make it out, but he could tell this was a huge being similar to that of a titian. Kirby didn't know why, but this being filled him with dread and at the same time it felt…familiar to Kirby. Kirby remained still, frozen in terror, and didn't say a word as he hoped whatever this was didn't notice him. However, it did notice Kirby and stared down at him.

Mysterious titian- This feeling…the life force I'm sensing…Kimberly…my dear girl…is that you…?

Kirby's fear grew as it moved closer and got a better look at him.

Mysterious titian- No…you are not Kimberly…yet you are still familiar to me somehow…

Then Kirby saw two glowing red eyes from the titian's face.

Mysterious titian- Who are you?!

(Back at the tower in Sacred Square)

Fire Mario snapped Kirby out of his trance with a hard slap to the face.

Fire Mario- Kirby! Kirby, snap out of it!

Kirby's mind might not be in that dark limbo anymore, but he was still frozen in terror from what he had just seen.

Ty- He appears to be in some kind of shock, mate.

Fire Luigi- I think you're right, Ty. I can see the look of fear in his eyes.

Sonic- That Jamba Heart must've affected him like how it affected all of us earlier.

Shantae- I'm not so sure. We lost control of our minds under the influence of the Jamba Heart. Kirby is cringing like he's got a seizure or something.

While Kirby was struggling to get himself to even think, he saw what looked like a mechanical hand through his peripheral vision before it snapped its fingers. In that instant, Kirby was back to normal and he no longer felt drained from creating that Friend Heart.

Kyrin- There we go. Good as new, Kirby.

Fire Luigi- Kyrin? Where did you come from?

Kyrin- Would you prefer I crept behind you and gave you a startle like I used to do with Loewy?

Fire Luigi- Actually, I'd prefer you didn't…

Kirby- What was that?! Who was that I just saw when I touched the Jamba Heart?!

Fire Mario- Kyrin, what did you do to Kirby?

Kyrin- I simply cured him of that shock he went through after coming face to face with Kimberly's father. And I also restored Kirby's energy to full, so he can use Void's power without feeling drained. However, I'd still suggest using it only when you really need to as to not get tired out again.

Kirby- Kimberly's father?

Fire Mario- Kyrin…what is going on here?

Kyrin- Yes, I do owe you all an explanation, but first, let's regroup at the Dream Palace where the rest are waiting. They'll want to hear this story too.
