Chapter 10: Kimberly Star Allies
(Jambasion Fortress)
The mysterious mage in the white robe from earlier was putting together what few pieces of the Jamba Heart him and his subordinates have managed to retrieve. The Jamba Heart was still looking incomplete, maybe less than 1/3 completed.
Mysterious mage- This setback won't stop me from bringing you back, my lord. I might've divided your soul when I removed the Heart Spears, but we'll have you back together again in no time.
Then the mysterious mage picked up the latest piece of the Jamba Heart that arrived at the fortress. However, when the mysterious mage touched it, he heard a dark voice whispering something to him.
Mysterious mage- Huh…my lord…? You saw…what now…?
The mysterious mage heard the whispering again.
Mysterious mage- That can't be right. Your daughter betrayed you a 1,000 years ago and is obviously no longer…
The mysterious mage heard the whispering again, only it sounded more intense than before.
Mysterious mage- Wait…you're saying…there's another? But my lord, she was the only Void Spawn that was born from you! How could another exist?
Then the mysterious mage heard the whispering, only now it sounded more calm.
Mysterious mage- My lord…are you saying…this Void Spawn was born from her…?
The mysterious mage heard the whispering again.
Mysterious mage- How interesting…so tell me, my lord…what should we do about this…Star Warrior you've just spoken to…?
Then the mysterious mage heard the whispering again…only it sounded a little more…sinister.
Mysterious mage- I see…I understand, my lord. Consider it done…
Then the mysterious mage turned away from the incomplete Jamba Heart and looked at the bottom of the stairs.
Mysterious mage- Come to me, my three Mage Sisters! I summon thee at once!
The mysterious mage snapped his fingers and a red flame appeared at the bottom of the stairs. When the flames faded, a mage in red appeared. Then a pillar of ice appeared out of the floor and shattered to pieces. In its place was a mage in blue. Then a bolt of lightning struck and a mage in yellow appeared as well.
Mage in red- You called for us, Lord Hyness?
Mysterious mage- I have just spoken with our lord. And he has told me something truly interesting. It appears we have a new objective along with retrieving the pieces of the Jamba Heart. It appears there is a Star Warrior from Planet Popstar. And he wants this Star Warrior to be brought to him…alive and unharmed.
Mage in yellow- Alive? Why alive?
Mysterious mage- Our lord tells me…he's related to someone he knows…
(Dream Palace)
Mario, Luigi, Link, Kirby, Sonic, Ty, Shantae, Meta Knight, Bowser, and Kyrin arrived while the rest of the Super Mario Brothers' Team, Bowser's Team, and the Dream Friends were waiting to hear what happened. Mario managed to explain what had happened at Sacred Square.
Tiff- Oh my gosh! Kirby, I'm sorry that happened to you! But at least you're alright now.
Kirby- Actually, I'm not sure if I really am…
Kyrin- I agree. Especially since "HE" now knows of you, Kirby. And he might come for you just as he came for Kimberly once he found out about her.
Magolor- You mean the God of the Void?
Kyrin- Yes, I do.
Mario- Kyrin, I know your father made it forbidden to talk about this God of the Void, but given the situation we have on our hands, I think you need to make an exception.
Kyrin- Sadly, I agree. You'll need to know what you're all up against if you want to stop him. But I warn you, this is not a pleasant story. Especially not for Kirby.
Sonic- I'll say! He was frozen in fear stone cold at the sight of him when he tried to grab the Jamba Heart.
Kirby- It's ok…I…I want to know what we're up against…even if it kills me to know…
Kyrin- Be careful what you wish for, Kirby. But very well. His true name…is Void Termina. The God of the Void and a fellow S Ranked god. Not as strong as me or my brother, but still very few gods have managed to reach S Rank.
Susie- Hey, I've heard that name before! I remember my father mentioning that name back when he was working on Star Dream before he lost himself.
Magolor- And I remember that name being written on the Lor Starcutter.
Kyrin- I really don't remember much about him. Tabuu and I were barely older than Ty's son, Fang is right now back then. But I do remember he used to visit the Crystal Monastery several times. And I remember he was always so nice to me when I spoke to him. However, I noticed he stopped visiting completely all of a sudden and all of my father's servants were terrified to speak of him. And when I asked my father about it, he simply told me to forget that Void Termina ever existed and to never speak of him again. And I never found our why my father went through such great lengths make it seem as if Void Termina never existed…until after he attacked the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnapped Kimberly.
Marx- Why would he kidnap Kimberly?
Kyrin- I'll get to that. But first I should start at the beginning. The reason why he was banished from the gods was partially due to my mother's death. After the people of the Mushroom Kingdom killed my mother, Void tried to find a solution to make other living beings less violent. However, what he ended up producing was something not as pleasant as he has hoped. He created a new spell that could control other living beings. But instead of controlling their minds like how Dark Matter does, it corrupted and darkened their souls. Turning them into vicious savages. An entire galaxy was destroyed by this. The inhabitance violently slaughtered each other in one of the most horrific ways imaginable. And when my father found out about this, he was outraged. He banished Void Termina to the furthest reaches of the universe. But the real reason he went to such length to erase all records of Void Termina's existence was because Void was the only one who knew how to use that spell to corrupt souls. And my father didn't want anyone else learning that secret. But I don't need to tell you how bad it was since most of you experienced a sample when the Jamba Hearts scattered across Popstar.
Bowser- I'm sure this is fascinating and all, but could you get to the point?
Kyrin- I'm getting to there, Bowser. The place Void Termina was exiled to was a place called Halcandra. Once a wasteland worse than Shiver Star with their inhabitance unable to make much to survive. But then Void Termina decided to rebuild his life in Halcandra and start a new civilization. And under his leadership, the Ancients of Halcandra were born. Void showed the people how to forge numerous godly artifacts. A rod with ability to bring dreams to life, crowns with their own wills and desires with the ability to edit matter, celestial engines capable of calculating any desire and granting any wish in the form of a clockwork star, and so many more.
Meta Knight- Hang on! You mean all the treasures left behind by the Ancients of Halcandra were actually giving to them by this god?
Kyrin- Yes, they were.
Daroach- Guess that explains how the Ancients knew how to create all of those reality warping treasures everyone's always after.
Taranza- But it's still a shock that a civilization as grand as that one could be brought to ruin by something. Since Halcandra is nothing but ruins today and the Ancients are not around today.
Kyrin- Actually, it was the very god who helped them thrive that caused their doom. Eons after he founded this civilization, Void Termina actually fell in love with a young woman from Halcandra. They married and gave birth to a child. A baby girl with the godlike power of her father. A Void Spawn as she was more commonly referred to by the people of Halcandra. At first, Void Termina could not have been happier. But then word reached a gang of bandits called the White Eye, lead by a man named Zeroni. They believed that if they kidnapped her, they could raise the Void Spawn and mold her into their weapon of conquest. One night, Void Termina was away from his castle, the White Eye attacked the castle and attempted to abduct the child. The mother did her best to protect her daughter…but it cost her life in the attempt. And when Void Termina found out…(sigh)…he attempted to take her back. But what ended up happening was the Void Spawn fell into the depths of space and out of his reach. With that, the God of the Void unleashed his rath upon Halcandra. The god they once worship and respected…the Ancients of Halcandra then feared…
Ribbon- Oh my…that's so sad.
Shantae- I agree.
Kyrin- But there's more to this story. You see, the daughter of Void Termina lived. She grew up on a planet far way from Halcandra and spent the first twenty-three years without knowing her true heritage. I think you know who she is, Kirby.
Kirby- The Void Spawn…daughter of this Void Termina…it was Kimberly…the Star Warrior who fought along side Mario's ancestor against Tabuu.
Kyrin- Yes…Kimberly was the Void Spawn and daughter to Void Termina…and I didn't realize it when I first met her. Maybe if I did when she and Marco defeated Paintia…I could've told her about Void Termina…and possibly prevented that disaster which followed later.
Palutena (telepathically to everyone)- Hang on! I remember now! When Halcandra forces attacked the Mushroom Kingdom!
Pit- Attacked the Mushroom Kingdom? Why would they do that?
Kyrin- It's because Kimberly was part of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team. After Marco and his friends defeated Tabuu, word began to spread…even to Halcandra. And when Void Termina realized that the Star Warrior, Kimberly was part of that group, he instantly Kimberly for who she truly was and demanded his servants to find the planet where Kimberly called home. About a year after the battle with Tabuu, he found planet Earth instead of Popstar. And Void believed if he attacked the home of the Mario Brothers, Kimberly would rush to aid her friends.
(Flashback to the Mushroom Kingdom 1,000 years ago)
A large floating structure appeared in the sky just above Princess Amethyst's castle as hundreds of Halcandran creatures rained down from above. Marco, Loewy, and several of the castle guards were fending off these attackers while protecting as many civilians as they could. A large titian and a mysterious mage were watching the chaos from the floating structure.
Mysterious titian- Hyness, are you sure my daughter will come?
Mysterious mage- Without a doubt, my lord! She is part of the Super Mario Brothers' Team. So if the Super Mario Brothers are in danger, the rest of their team, including her, should come to assist them.
Mysterious titian- She had better. Because if she doesn't…you'll pay dearly for this, Hyness!
Mysterious mage- You don't need to doubt me, my lord!
Then a warrior who strongly resembled Meta Knight approached them.
Galacta Knight- My lord, it appears the other warriors of the Super Mario Brothers' Team have finally arrived to help Marco and Loewy with this situation.
Mysterious titian- Does that include her, Galacta Knight?
Galacta Knight- Yes…Kimberly included.
Mysterious mage- See, my lord! I told you this would work in luring her to us.
Mysterious titian- Good. Now bring her to me. And make sure she is unharmed. Either of you so much as scratch her and you'll suffer a fate worse than Zeroni!
Galacta Knight- Just leave it to us, my lord!
(Toad Town)
Two Halcandran soldiers tried to rush at Marco, but they were sliced to pieces with a single swing of Marco's sword.
Loewy- Who even are these guys?!
Marco- More importantly, what do they want?
As more Halcandran troops attacked, some of there were suddenly lassoed by a long stretchy tongue. Turns out they were grabbed by a Yoshi who looked similar to Yoshi as it swallowed them up.
Ihsaoy- (BURP)…excuse Ihsoy…
Then a giant monkey fist hit one of those Halcandran soldiers in the head on knocked it into the ground with his head sticking out.
King Kong- King Kong help Mario friends.
Then a swordsman in a wolf's pelt slashed through a few more of those invaders with the Master Sword held in his teeth and eight daggers held in the webbings of his hands. Behind this swordsman was a small group of other warriors.
Wolf- Sorry we're late, but this was short notice for us.
Loewy- Hey Calmly, you're didn't bring Ho-Oh with you?
Prince Calmly- I thought I already explained during that Immortal Wedding Ritual situation that Ho-Oh is still recovering from that fight with Tabuu. I told him to stay at the castle while I handled this with my other Poke'mon.
Prince Calmly's Pikachu- Pikachu.
But then Kimberly took a look at the armor some of these invaders were wearing and noticed there was a strange design on them. Kimberly moved in closer to get a better look and she felt a feeling of dread, yet familiar at the same time.
Azra- Kimberly, are you ok?
Simba- You're acting like you got your undies in a bunch, Kimmy.
Kimberly still wasn't responding. But Kimberly snapped out of it when Icarus played a trumpet to her ear, but Icarus played it very well. In fact, Icarus played the trumpet like a professional jazz musician. Even if it did startle Kimberly when it snapped her back to reality.
Kimberly- What was that for, Icarus?!
Icarus- Well, it snapped you out of it. And I thought I sounded pretty good, since I've actually had nothing better to do but practice playing this thing since our fight with Tabuu.
Marco- But what made you daze off like that, Kim?
Kimberly- I'm not sure. I feel like I've seen those designs and symbols before…yet I don't remember there.
Then Chaos took a look.
Chaos- Based off those symbols, I'd say they're from Halcandra.
Loewy- Halcandra? Where is that?
Mysterious voice- A civilization on the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
Then Marco and the others turned towards where the voice was coming from and saw Galacta Knight walking out of an alleyway.
Marco- Who are you and why are you attacking the Mushroom Kingdom?!
Galacta Knight- I'm not here to cause you trouble. We're really here for that Star Warrior, Kimberly.
Kimberly- Me…?
Galacta Knight- You could say our leader is your family. And he's been searching for you for some time now. I'll tell you what, agree to come with us and we'll leave the Mushroom Kingdom.
Kimberly- I've got this feeling in my gut…I really don't want to…it's just filling me with dread…
Galacta Knight- Sorry miss, but I can't take no for an answer.
Then Marco drew his sword and the rest of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team stood between Galacta Knight and Kimberly.
Marco- You heard our friend! She doesn't want to go.
But before it looked like there'd be a fight happening, a tranquilizer dart hit Kimberly from the side. Suddenly, the whole world spin like crazy from her point of view. Kimberly almost fainted and collapsed to the ground, but a mysterious mage in white caught her from behind.
Mysterious mage- Galacta Knight, no need to fight them. We have what our lord sent us for. Now let's go before he gets impatient. He has been searching for her for twenty-three years.
Galacta Knight- Fine. You Super Mario Brothers might've beaten Tabuu, but that means nothing in reality. And if you know what's good for you, you won't come after us.
Then Galacta Knight and the mysterious mage teleported away with Kimberly.
(Another part of the flashback)
Marco, Chaos, and Icarus were in this small cave as they were talking to this mouse who was sitting at the other end of a desk.
Shady mouse- You seek the assistance of the Squeak Squad?
Marco- Our friend has been kidnapped and we need to know where they've taken her.
Shady mouse- And you want us to find her? Perhaps we can…for a price.
Then Marco pulls out a small leather pouch full of gold coins and tosses it to the desk. The shady mouse looks at all the gold coins in the pouch and smiles a bit.
Shady mouse- Very well. You've acquired the services of the Squeak Squad. Rebel!
Then a mouse who looked similar to Daroach appeared.
Mouse who looked like Daroach- Yes, father?
Shady mouse- This is my son, Rebel. A master thief and heir to the Squeak Squad. A Star Warrior is being held prisoner by the Ancients of Halcandra. Think you can figure out where?
Rebel- I can do this, but they better be paying well, because I'll have to deal with tight security with Ancients.
Shady mouse- Don't worry, Rebel. They have. And you'll get your share once you've found out what they want to know.
(End of flashback and back at the Dream Palace in the present time)
Meta Knight- Galacta Knight…
Kirby- Meta Knight, is something wrong?
Kirby noticed Meta Knight getting all tense like he was ready to strangle someone.
Meta Knight- It's private, Kirby!
Dark Meta Knight- You have a personal family hatred for Galacta Knight.
Meta Knight- What?! How do you…
Dark Meta Knight- I'm a dark reflection of you. Remember? Everything you have in your head I have in mine as well.
Shantae- Hang on, I remember hearing Rebel's name back when Kirby and I fought the Seven Deadly Sins!
Kyrin- Yes, that was the same Rebel. However, the incident when Rebel's father accidently unleashed the Sins happened after the incident with Void Termina.
Daroach- I guess I'm starting to see why the Seven Deadly Sins said I resembled him.
Mario- And did they find out Void took Kimberly?
Kyrin- Why yes, they did. Rebel found out the Kimberly was locked away in a large structure. Namely, the Dream Palace that we now stand in was Kimberly's jail. But originally, the Dream Palace was attached to the Jamastian Fortress at first, Void Termina's flying castle.
Link- Enemy territory.
Kyrin- Well, I know that wouldn't stop you if one of your friends was kidnapped against their will…and it didn't stop Marco and the others either. But sadly, the rescue didn't go as smoothy as they had hoped. Void Termina intercepted their attempt and infected the Super Mario Brothers Team with the same soul corruption spell that got him banished to Halcandra to begin with. That just made the situation worse for Kimberly. Her being kidnapped by her father who had turned into a madman obsessed with finding his lost daughter by any means, locked away as to prevent her from leaving ever again, and witnessing her closest friends having their souls become darker and twisted. However, there was one silver lining that managed to help keep Kimberly going. I swear, I've never figure out how Marco manages to keep everyone hoping during the grimmest situations even to this day…
(Dream Palace 1,000 years ago)
Kimberly was in horror at the sight of her friends like Loewy, Chaos, and Azra, as well as the rest of the original team being corrupted and becoming mindless slaves. But then Kimberly heard someone call out to her.
Marco's voice- Kim…ber…ly…
Then Kimberly looked over and saw Marco trying to walk towards her. He had the dark aura surrounding his body and he looked like he was doing everything within his power to resist submitting to the darkness.
Kimberly- Marco?!
Mysterious titian- You…still stand?! Even after I've placed my dark power into your heart!
Marco- What can I say…even gods…can't take me down that easily…and I'm quite…tenacious…
Mysterious titian- Yes…I see that now. I think I understand why you were chosen to lead this team instead of my daughter. And how it was you that toppled Tabuu. But you clearly can't fight this corruption for very long, Marco Mario.
Marco- But I can resist…just long enough…
Mysterious titian- Enough for what?
Marco- Enough…to inspire…Kimberly…
Kimberly- Marco…
Marco- It's up to you now, Kim…things might look bleak…and you might start on your own…but I believe you can do it…have faith…in your friends…
Kyrin's voice- Marco was able to give Kimberly some hope with those words. And it was also good, because two of Kimberly's old friends actually followed Marco into the Jambastian Fortress. Part of the reason they were able to remain undetected was because Void's soldiers were more focused on the Super Mario Brothers than them.
Then it shows two people looking through a window outside the room, yet no one seemed to notice them. One was a female Waddle Dee with a on her head and a long baton in her hand. And the other was a young girl who looked similar to Adeleine and even dressed like a painter.
Kyrin's voice- Kimberly's old training partner, Flower Dee. And the young painter, Caroline.
(Another part of the flashback)
Kimberly was looking down at Popstar below in her room as she tried to think of how to escape. Suddenly, Kimberly heard a ruckus happening outside door to her room. Eventually, the door was broken down and Kimberly saw Flower Dee and Caroline under the door frame.
Flower Dee- Kimberly!
Kimberly- Flower Dee…and Caroline?! How did you…
Caroline- We actually trailed close behind Marco and the others. At first, they said it was too dangerous for us, yet we snuck in along with them regardless. However, they were the reasons why your father's men weren't looking for us.
Flower Dee- But right now, we need to get you out of here.
Kimberly- Agreed. Last thing I want to see my father do to you what he did to Marco and the others.
But as soon as Kimberly stepped out of the room, a small little creature was seen on the roof a nearby tower. Caroline drew a flashlight and shined it at the figure.
Pikachu- PIKA!
Kimberly- Oh dear! It's Prince Calmly's Pikachu!
Caroline- But isn't Pikachu on our side?
Flower Dee- Caroline, I think the dark aura surrounding Pikachu should be telling enough that under the same spell as his master, Calmly.
Pikachu was about to strike with thunderbolt, but Caroline drew a basket of apples from her canvas. After Caroline pulled the basket to life, she held them out to Pikachu and got his attention.
Caroline- Feeling hungry, Pikachu?
Pikachu- Pi…Pi…
Then Caroline threw the basket of apples into Kimberly's room and Pikachu jumped right after them. Flower Dee closed the door and locked it, sort of making it look like Kimberly was still in her room if the guards look through the window.
Kimberly- Now let's get out of here, before Pikachu finishes those apples and informs everyone about our escape!
(In another part of the flashback)
Kimberly, Flower Dee, and Caroline were at the lower area of the Jambastion Fortress. However, a figure jumped from above and landed right in front of them. Turns out it was Marco Mario.
Caroline- Marco?
However, the dark aura was still around Marco's body.
Flower Dee- I don't think Mario's here to help…
She was right as Marco glared at the three ladies while unsheathing his sword. Marco swung his sword, but Flower Dee tried to block with her baton. While she was struggling to hold Marco back, Caroline drew a sword on her canvas and tossed it to Kimberly.
Caroline- Here, Kimberly! Inhale this!
Kimberly inhaled the sword and transformed into Sword Kimberly.
Sword Kimberly- POYA!
Meanwhile, Marco swatted Flower Dee's baton out of her hands and had it sticking out of a wall in the distance.
Flower Dee- Wow…you know…for a man whose soul is possessed…you still remember how to fight like the legendary hero you are…
Just as Marco was about to strike again with his sword, Sword Kimberly blocked with her sword.
Sword Kimberly- Flower Dee, you might want to get your baton unstuck!
Flower Dee- Right!
Marco swung his sword at Sword Kimberly again, but Sword Kimberly was barely able to block. Even worse, Sword Kimberly was losing ground as Marco's sword moved in closer.
Sword Kimberly- Don't do this, Marco! You were able to fight back before! You've got to do it again!
Then Marco shattered Sword Kimberly's sword and kicked her against the wall. This left a large crater in the stone wall and Sword Kimberly changed back to normal Kimberly. Flower Dee managed to get her baton out of the wall and tried to rush at Marco from behind. But Marco held his sword behind his back and managed to block the baton without turning around. Before Flower Dee could react, Marco grabbed her with his other hand and threw her over his shoulder and to the ground. Marco flipped his sword to have the blade face downward as he was about to attempt to finish off Flower Dee.
Caroline- Flower Dee! Hold on!
Then Caroline quickly painted several Koopa shells on her canvas and launched them at Marco. But Marco jumped over the Koopa shells and jumped towards Caroline. Caroline tried to paint something quickly, but Marco moved to quickly and swung his sword. She dodged, but her canvas was sliced in half.
Caroline- This is not good! I can't paint if I don't have anything to draw on!
Then Caroline backed up to the wall as Marco moved in closer with his sword ready to strike. Kimberly got herself back up only to see Marco about to swing his sword at Caroline.
Kimberly- Caroline! Marco, please don't do it!
Before Marco could swing his sword, a spiked ball hit Marco from behind and froze him in ice. But before Kimberly would wonder what just happened, something quickly grabbed her. Flower Dee and Caroline were also grabbed as something with rainbow-colored wings attempted to fly out of this fortress with the three. However, Marco managed to break free of the ice and rush at the figure before it could fly away. Marco managed to slash it in the back, but it still flew away with Kimberly, Flower Dee, and Caroline.
(In another part of the flashback)
The thing that was flying with Kimberly and her friends eventually crashed somewhere in Green Greens on Popstar and it wasn't a smooth landing.
Flower Dee- (Cough)…Well…that wasn't the most graceful of escapes…
Caroline- But we got Kimberly out of her prison in the Dream Palace.
Kimberly- But at what price? Marco, Loewy, Ihsoy, King Kong, Wolf, Calmly and his Poke'mon, Chaos, Simba, Icarus, Azra…all corrupted by my father…
Then Kimberly noticed there was blood on her hand and saw a trail on the ground. When she followed the blood trail, she saw a familiar looking jester laying on the ground with an open wound on his back.
Kimberly- Wait…Jayx?!
Kimberly rushed over to Jayx who was in pain from when Marco struck him.
Kimberly- Jayx, is that really you?!
Jayx- Surprised you care about me, Kimberly. Especially after all I've done.
Jayx cringes in pain.
Caroline- He's hurt! We need to address that wound on his back!
Flower Dee- With what? We don't have any medicine.
Then Kimberly created a large pink heart out of her own energy and threw it at Jayx. Just like that, Jayx's wound was healed.
Kimberly- Guess my father's teachings could be put to good use after all.
Jayx- Uh…thanks Kimberly…
Kimberly- Why did you help us escape my father?
Jayx- Truth is…I don't know myself. I've just been trying to forget I ever existed after Tabuu made me do those terrible things.
Kimberly- Either way, I owe you my thanks, Jayx.
Flower Dee- But what are we going to do? Your father still has control of Popstar, is about to move his forces to invade Earth next, the Super Mario Brothers' Team have all been possessed and corrupted by your father, and we have no idea where he is!
Kimberly- You're right, it does seem hopeless. If Marco were here, he'd know what to say to motivate everyone into action. But…I can't stop him on my own…
Caroline- Who said you had to do it alone? After all, Marco didn't stop Tabuu on his own. He had you and the rest of your friends.
Flower Dee- What you need is a team of your own. A dream team sort of speak.
Kimberly- Nah…I think I like Dream Friends a lot better. But where can I find a team?
Caroline- You can start with me and Flower Dee.
Flower Dee- I know we're not in the same league as you, Marco, or the rest of the Super Mario Brothers' Team, but we're your friends too, Kimberly. And we're willing to fight by your side.
Kimberly- This will be hard to do, but I can't just my father continue to do this to Popstar, or to Earth, or…to Marco and my friends. I have to save them. Marco sacrificed himself to give me this chance to escape. I have to rescue Marco and the others, because I know they'd do the same for me.
Flower Dee- I'm a little scared, but with you leading the Dream Friends, we might be able to pull this off.
Caroline- Yeah! It's our turn to save the Mario Brothers and our friends!
Jayx- Well…Good luck with that, Kim…
Jayx started to walk away, but he was stopped after feeling a hand gently grab hold of his right wing. When Jayx turned around, he saw it was Kimberly who grabbed hold of his wing and she had an emotional look on her face.
Kimberly- Please…don't go…
Jayx- What…
Kimberly- I said…don't go…I need you, Jayx.
Jayx- Me…? But…why me? I tricked you to summon Nova, tried to kill you after you stopped Nova, did the work of a devil…and did so many unforgivable sins…(cries)…why would you want someone as horrible as me on the Dream Friends…
Then Kimberly pulled Jayx in and gave him a big hug.
Kimberly- Because you're my friend, Jayx. Yes, you made some mistakes in the past, but you're not the same jester who tricked me about wanting to use Nova to make piece between the Sun and Moon. After Marco, Loewy, Ihsoy, King Kong, Wolf, Calmly, Chaos, Simba, Icarus, and Azra were taken by my father and turned into his mindless servants for breaking me out of that prison…you helped me, Caroline and Flower Dee escape and get away from my father's troops so that I could form the Dream Friends. And I need you for this. And I wouldn't have it any other way than to have a friend like you by my side for this.
Jayx began hugging Kimberly back.
Jayx- Kim…I…I…(sobs like crazy)…thank you! Thank you!
(End of the flashback and back at the Dream Palace)
Ribbon- Wow…you know, this Caroline seems very similar.
Then Ribbon turns for face Adeleine.
Kyrin- She did use that piece of the Brush of Dream that Kimberly divided after she defeated Paintia. The same brush that Adeleine uses to paint her works to life.
Adeleine- I guess that explains why my brush was passed down in my family for generations.
Coo- But this Jayx…
Kine- He also sounds very similar…
Kyrin- Even back then…Tabuu recruited followers to assist in his so-called cause. Not as many as he does now. Four, I believe. And Jayx used to be one of them. Simba's older brother, Bruce was revived with the Dead Possum, but Bruce broke free from Tabuu's control and killed himself instead. Prince Calmly's brother, Lokk, sold himself to Tabuu and ended up being turned into a half metal abomination only to be crushed to death in the same robot factory he was created in. A former baron of Hyrule, Dorf DeFreet got corrupted by the magic of the Death Mountain volcano and was transformed into the dragon the Hylians and Gorons know as Volvagia. Though Volvagia had no memories of his life before he was changed into a dragon. And finally, there was Jayx, a jester of Popstar that once tricked Kimberly into summoning Nova. After his schemes failed, Tabuu overed him revenge, but Jayx began to realize that what Tabuu was forcing him to do was wrong and more evil than any mischief he wanted to cause. But somehow, Kimberly managed to set him free after Tabuu corrupted his soul and nearly drove Jayx over the edge. I guess you could say he was the only one of Tabuu's followers to reform.
Then Marx remembers the dream he kept having with Jayx.
Marx (thinks)- Was this what Jayx was trying to tell me?
Kyrin- But there's still more to this story…

Kyrin's voice- Kimberly went on to form her Dream Friends so she could stand up to her father before he could send his forces to invade Earth like they already did with Popstar. This included a hamster who farmed the open fields named Rex…

Kimberly was giving some coins to Rebel and Rebel was making a really big grin.
Kyrin's voice- She even went to the Squeak Squad and managed to hire Rebel for his help. However, the most bazar Dream Friends was actually someone who Kimberly thought was long dead.

Kimberly, Rebel, Caroline, and Flower Dee were moving heading for Castle D on Kimberly's Warp Star.
Caroline- You sure about this, Rebel?
Rebel- You doubt the intel of the Squeak Squad? They told me that the God of the Void sent Marco and Loewy to invade Castle D and to capture King Big D.
Kimberly- And we have to get there save Marco and Loewy!
Suddenly, the Warp Star was struck by something and this caused Kimberly, Caroline, Flower Dee, and Rebel to crash to the ground. When they looked up, Galacta Knight stood in front of them.
Kimberly- You?!
Galacta Knight- I see Void Termina's little girl has been very busy. Traveling around Popstar and trying to put together a new team to take him down. But this game is over. Your father wants you back in your room, Kim!
Kimberly- And you can tell my father to forget it! I'm not spending the rest of my life with a monster like him!
Galacta Knight drew his sword and pointed it at them.
Galacta Knight- I'm afraid that's not an option. Sure, he told me not to harm you, but I have no problem killed those other retarded fools you call your Dream Friends. Last chance, surrender yourself over or there will be bloodshed!
But before Galacta Knight could do anything, a small butterfly appeared out of nowhere and gently lands on Galacta Knight's sword.
Galacta Knight- What the?
Mysterious voice- For shame on you…brother…a Star Warrior threatening a young lady like that…
Galacta Knight looked at the butterfly and his eyes began to widen, like Galacta Knight seemed to recognize the butterfly.
Galacta Knight- YOU?! But this can't be! I was told you were killed by Paintia when she stole the Brush of Dreams!
Suddenly, a bright light shined from the butterfly and it seemed to engulf Galacta Knight as well. When the light faded, in place of Galacta Knight was another Star Warrior wearing a red helmet and a red sword similar to Meta Knight's. Flower Dee, Caroline, and Rebel were scared by the appearance of this Star Warrior, but Kimberly broke into tears when she saw him.
Kimberly- Master…is it really…
Morpho Knight- Good to see you again, Kimberly.
Kimberly- It is you! Master Morpho!
Kimberly raced over to Morpho Knight and gave him a big hug while still crying.
Caroline- Kim…you know this Star Warrior?
Kimberly- Everyone, this is Morpho Knight. He's the Star Warrior who found and raised me when I was a child. In fact, I would say Master Morpho was more of a father to me that…he…ever was…but…how are you back? Paintia…
Morpho Knight- I still am dead. Ever since I sacrificed myself so that you could escape from Paintia, I had taken a spiritual form and have been watching over you ever since. But it seems you need more than spiritual guidance for this one. That is why I decided to borrow the body of my brother, Galacta Knight.
Rebel- Brother?
Morpho Knight- Yes. Galacta Knight is my brother. Which is part of the reason why my spirit was able to take control of his body like that. However, this is only temporary, I'm afraid. I could be forced out of Galacta Knight's body at any time. I'm sorry, but I will not be able to stay, even if we defeat your father. But I promise I will make the most of what I can in helping you defeat Void Termina.
Kimberly- Thank you, Master Morpho!
Morpho Knight- No need to call me master anymore, Kimberly. You are no longer my student and you've clearly surpassed me even after my death.
(The front gate of Castle D)
Sourin was flying in the air as a possessed Loewy was trying to jump attack him. Sourin narrowly avoided Loewy's Super Jump Punch, but then a long tongue stretched out and grabbed hold of Sourin's leg.
Sourin- What in the woods?!
Sourin looked down and saw a possessed Ihsoy trying to pull Sourin down to the ground. But then Rebel jumps on Ihsoy's back and places a bomb in Ihsoy's mouth.
Rebel- You Yoshi's can eat anything? Let's see how well you handle a Squeak's bomb!
The bomb exploded in Ihsoy's mouth and Ihsoy was launched a few feet backwards. Then Wave appeared and caught Ihsoy in his mouth. Sourin got his wing free, but Loewy was still jumping around and high enough to attack him. But then Flower Dee tossed her baton and it wacked Loewy in the back of his head. Loewy turned around to see what attacked him, but then Sourin wind up a few wind slashes and knocked Loewy to the ground. When Loew got back up, he saw he was now in a cage Caroline painted around him. Meanwhile, Marco and Morpho Knight were clashing their swords. But even Morpho Knight was struggling to hold Marco back.
Morpho Knight- Damn! Either Marco Mario is this strong of a warrior or Void Termina's possession is making them stronger!
Then Fighter Kimberly appeared behind Morpho Knight.
Kimberly- That won't be a problem? Just duck.
Then Morpho Knight quickly ducked as Fighter Kimberly landed a flying kick in the face to Marco. Marco dropped his sword after he landed, but Rex managed to jump on top of Marco and pin him to the ground.
Rex- I've got him, Kimberly! Now remove your father's corruption from them!
Fighter Kimberly made a friend heart, but then she saw something that she wasn't sure if it was a hallucination of her imagination or not. The dark aura from Marco, Loewy, and Ihsoy took the form of a dark titian and the sight of this was willing Fighter Kimberly with dread.
Fighter Kimberly- I…I…I can't do…
Before she could finish that sentence, Jaxy suddenly slapped Fighter Kimberly in the face with the claw on his right wing. Kimberly's left cheek swelled up a bit as she rubbed it a bit.
Fighter Kimberly- Jayx, what was that for?!
Jayx- To slap some sense back into you.
Fighter Kimberly- But I…
Jayx- No buts, Kimmy! Listen, I was once corrupted by Tabuu's dark power! And your hedgehog god friend told you it was already too late for me and I was beyond saving. And yet…I'm still here to talk about it today. If you could free my mind and soul from Tabuu's power, then freeing the Mario Brothers from your father's power should be nothing compared to that! Now do it, Kimberly! I know you can do it, just like you did it for me!
Fighter Kimberly- You're right, Jayx. I'll never know if I don't try.
Then Fighter Kimberly created a Friend Heart and tossed it at Marco, Loewy, and Ihsoy. When the light from the Friend Heart faded, the dark aura surrounding them vanished and they appeared to be back to normal before they got corrupted.
Ihsoy- Uh…what Ihsoy doing? Why Ihsoy in mouth of large fish?
Fighter Kimberly- Marco…is it really you?!
Marco- I believe so. See, I told you that you could do it!
Then Wave spat Ihsoy out of his mouth, Caroline let Loewy out of the cage she drew, and Rex got off of Marco. But as Marco picked his sword off the ground and placed it back in its sheath, there was an explosion cloud seen coming from the throne room of Big D's castle.
Fighter Kimberly- Big D?
Rebel- Uh…I think he might be why your father sent the Mario Brothers his castle. Probably because he was scheming against Void or something.
(King Big D's throne room)
Marco, Loewy, Ihsoy, and Kimberly rush into the throne room to find King Big D with looking out the window with his back facing them.
Kimberly- Big D, are you alright?!
King Big D- Oh…I'm better than alright…in fact…
Then King Big D turned around and a dark aura surrounded his body. But to everyone's surprise, Big D's arms suddenly grew into giant muscular arms.
Macho Big D- I'd say I'm feeling Macho!
Loewy- What the hell just happened?!
Marco- Kimberly's father must've gotten to him too like how he got to us.
Kimberly tried to use a Friend Heart to change Macho Big D back, but he swatted the Friend Heart away with one of his giant arms. Then Macho Big D swung his other arm at them, but they managed to dodge.
Kimberly- I don't get it! Why didn't the Friend Heart work?
Marco- I think like how Calmly tells us you have to weaken a Poke'mon before catching it, you need to weaken Big D before the Friend Heart can cure him.
Macho Big D yanked a column from the wall and hurled it at Kimberly. Luckily, Ihsoy wrapped his tongue around in and managed to pull that large column into his mouth. Then Ihsoy spat what was left of the column at Macho Big D, but Macho Big D smashed it with one punch. However, a dust cloud surrounded King Big D and he couldn't see them anymore. He tried to fan the dust cloud away with his giant arms, but then Macho Big D saw Fire Marco and Fire Loewy above him as they combined their fireballs to create one large swirling red and green fireball. This blasted Macho Big D all the way across the throne room and he crashed into his throne. But before Macho Big D could get up, Kimberly tried another Friend Heart. This time, the Friend Heart went into him and King Big D's arms returned to normal size. Then Big D stood from this throne while rubbing his head.
King Big D- Man…I feel like shit all of a sudden…
Kimberly- I see you're awake.
King Big D- What the…Kimberly?! What the hell are you doing in my castle?! And what happened to that other guy? That bigger version of you who broke into my castle asking for you?
Kimberly- You mean my father?
King Big D- You father?! Oh, that figures! First you ruin all my fun with the Mario Brothers…and now your old man busts into my castle, disintegrates 70% of my Waddle Dee's, and then puts some dark energy into my body after I told him he could go **** himself when he was demanding I tell him where you were! But for some reason, I can't remember what happened after that…
Kimberly- Uh…maybe you're better off not knowing…
King Big D- And now my back is killing me!
As King Big D stretches his back, Kimberly walked closer to King Big D.
Kimberly- Trust me…I'm not exactly friends with my father…but I can use all the help I can get…
King Big D- Forget it, Kimmy!
Kimberly- I said…I could use your help!
King Big D- And I told you to forget it! This sounds like a family feud. And thankfully, I'm not part of this family. And if you don't mind, Kimberly, I'd like to clean up the mess your insane father made all over my castle.
Kimberly- You do realize that if I can't defeat my father, he could return and corrupt your soul again.
King Big D- Then why not ask those Mario Brothers? They did beat Tabuu after all.
Kimberly- I can't because my father did the exact same thing to Marco and Loewy that he did to you! Used his power to corrupt your soul and turned you into mindless slave!
King Big D- I was his slave?!
Kimberly- You did have massive muscle, but you weren't you and were obeying my father's will.
King Big D- What that ****ing…I can't let that go unchecked! Alright, I'll help, but this alliance is only temporary! Got that?
Kimberly- I got it. POYA!
Fire Loewy- You want your nemesis on the Dream Friends?
Kimberly- Well, better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
King Big D- Say, what happened to Slicor?
Fire Marco- Slicor? He was here too?!
King Big D- Well…I knew I couldn't handle this God of the Void by myself. So, I invited Slicor Koopa and the rest of Slicor's team to assist me.
Ihsoy- Oh boy! Ihsoy not liking this!
Fire Marco- You're telling me that Slicor and the team he assembled are also corrupted by Kimberly's father and are running amuck on Popstar?!
King Big D- Is that a problem?
Then a large mushroom cloud explosion was seen from balcony on the throne room.
Fire Loewy- I would probably say…yeah…it is a problem…
Kimberly- Damn it! What am I going to do?! I can't risk dividing the Dream Friends this much!
Fire Marco- Then leave it to us. You continue to lead the Dream Friends against your father. Meanwhile me, Loewy, Ihsoy, and even Big D will search for our missing friends.
King Big D- Me?!
Fire Marco- Yes, you. You might have an idea where we can find Slicor and the members of his team are hiding. We'll gather them and bring them to you, Kimberly, to turn them back like you did for us.
Kimberly- Thanks, Marco!
King Big D- I can just tell…Slicor Koopa will not be happy about this once he's been purified…

Kimberly, Jayx, Caroline, and Morpho Knight were in this large hallway along with this spider mage who looks similar to Taranza.
Spider mage who looks like Taranza- Welcome to Floralia. My name is Parker. And how may I be of assistance?
Kimberly- Popstar is in danger of being taken over a dangerous god. We need to form an alliance if we are to defeat him.
Parker- Well I am sworn to help those in need and protect the innocent, but I am bound to protect the kingdom of Floralia. I can not simply leave Floralia or her majesty on a whim just because someone from the world below asks me to.
Caroline- Floralia is still part of Popstar. And once they take over Dreamland and the rest of Popstar, they will turn their attentions to the skies of Floralia.
Parker- You have a good point. But if I am to assist you and leave Floralia, I must first speak with the queen.
(Haltmen Works Company office 1,000 years ago)
Kimberly, Rebel, Flower Dee, and Parker arrived and there was this robot girl who looked similar to Susie on the other end of a desk.
Rebel- See, I told you I could get us into this place. I know the Haltmen Works Company very well.
Girl who looks like Susie- That's because you've broken in here before, Rebel. Don't think I haven't forgotten.
Flower Dee- You know her?
Rebel- Yeah, Eve's the president of the company and I guess you can say…we've met before.
Eve- Because you and the Squeaks were hired to rob out secrets for competitors. But the only reason I agreed to let you in was because the Star Warrior who helped defeat Tabuu wanted to see this new substance our company has found.
Kimberly- According to what we've heard, it's a similar substance to the power my father is using to corrupt everyone on Popstar.
Eve- We've been referring it to Dark Matter.
Kimberly- Can we see it?
Eve- Of course, but keep Rebel claws off of it. The last think we need is for him to run off with it.
Parker- Jeeze, Rebel! What did you try to steal to make Eve have trust issues with you?
Rebel- Let's just move on to the part where we see if this Dark Matter can help us find Void Termina's weakness!
Then Eve places some kind of containment capsule on her desk. Inside was a black goopy substance.
Eve- I'd also advice not touching it directly. All staff who's tried temporarily lose control of their minds and don't remember anything during that time.
Kimberly held out her hand and felt the energy coming from it.
Kimberly- Yes…that's definitely the same kind of energy I've felt from my father…yet it also feels…different…but I can't put my finger on it.
Parker- Uh…Kimberly…I think it's moving!
Then Kimberly noticed the sample of Dark Matter was reacting to Kimberly's presence and bouncing up and down in the capsule. Eventually, the capsule broke and the black blob covered part of the desk. But to everyone's surprise, the black blog grew a face. Two google eyes and a mouth with a long tongue like a Yoshi's tongue. The small black ball continued to bounce up and down on Eve's desk.
Eve- That's odd. I didn't know that the Dark Matter was a living being. Also, it seems to really like you, Kimberly.
Then the strange piece of Dark Matter jumped into Kimberly's arms and seemed happier than ever.
Kimberly- That's cute. You're so squishy and adorable. Squishy? Hmmm…does that name sound good to you?
The little blob of Dark Matter eagerly nodded his head.
Kimberly- Ok, your name is Squishy from now on!
Flower Dee- Ok, but now I'm not so sure if it can be of any help against you father.
Then Squishy wrapped his tongue around Eve's desk and swallowed it in one gulp.
Flower Dee- And I thought you and Ihsoy had a big apatite.
Eve- Interesting. But if you plan on using Squishy against this God of the Void, I must insist I come as well. He is our only essence of Dark Matter and the Haltman Works company can't afford to lose him. Plus, I'm good in a fight with my laser. I even made a score on Rebel here.
Then Rebel blushes.
Rebel- Could you please not bring that one up!
(At a library somewhere)
Kimberly, Morpho Knight, Rex, Sourin, and Wave were talking to this scholar in a darkened hood.
Kimberly- Master Morpho, this is the expert you were talking about?
Scholar who looks like Magolor- Of course I am! I am Shade, archive of all secrets of the Ancients. I remember when I used to visit Halcandra's library before you were abducted from your original home.
Morpho Knight- His knowledge of the Ancients could be useful against your father.
Then Morpho Knight noticed a mirror hanging in the library.
Morpho Knight- And what is this thing?
Shade- That is a rare magical artifact called the Dimensional Mirror. It's said to open portals to an alternate dimension that mirrors our own.
But then a most twisted image of Morpho Knight appeared in the mirror in place of Morpho Knight's reflection. Suddenly, that edgier version of Morpho Knight appeared out of the Dimensional Mirror.
(End of the flashback and back to the Dream Palace in present day)
Susie- Eve Haltmen…I think my father had a portrait of her in his office in the Access Ark.
Coo- But I think I'm starting to understand why the Dream Rod believed most of us were connected to the original Dream Friends.
Bowser- This is getting boring. How about you just get to the point!
Kyrin- Impatience as Slicor, I see. I'm getting to it Bowser. While Kimberly was assembling the Dream Friends, Marco was tracking down the members of his team and Slicor's team on Popstar. They brought them to Kimberly to be purified back to normal. And like Kirby, using Void's power inside of her too much tired her out. But I also managed to pluck this Dream Palace from the Jama Fortress for Kimberly to use as a base and to hide from her father while she regained her energy. But Void Termina got impatient with looking for Kimberly and threatened to blow up Popstar if Kimberly didn't turn herself over to him. However, they handed over Slicor's servant, Kaster who was disguised as Kimberly to distract Void so they could get in close to Void Termina for the final showdown.
(Flashback to the Jamba Fortress 1,000 years ago)
A giant titian was being held to the ground by most of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team while Kimberly was looking down from above while holding heart shaped spear. Marco realized that Kimberly was still unsure of herself and tried to approach her.
Marco- Kimberly, you ok?
Kimberly- GWAAAHHH! Marco! Don't scare me like that!
Marco- Sorry, but I noticed you looked like you were breaking apart at the sight of him.
Kimberly- I know this is what we need to do, but…(cries)…couldn't there be another way?! I mean, he is my…
Then Marco takes the spear out of Kimberly's hand.
Marco- Kim…if this is too much for you, I can do it instead.
Kimberly snatches the spear back from Marco's hand with such haste.
Kimberly- Don't you dare, Marco! I swear, if you do, I'll never forgive you! This is something that I have to do and me alone!
Marco- Then do it, Kimberly.
Super Chaos- Hey! Not to rush you, but you might want to hurry it up!
Azra- He's already starting to break through and I don't know how much longer we can keep him held down!
Marco- Well Kimberly…it's now or never…
Kimberly held the spear up and looked at her reflection through the heart emblem on the spear.
Kimberly- You're right, Marco. I need to be strong…just like you were when we fought Tabuu over a year ago…
Then the large titian smashed through Azra's magic chains and knocked the other members of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team surrounding him to the ground.
Mysterious titian- (ROAR)…KIMBERLY!
When this titian stood up, he looked above him and saw Kimberly dropping down from above him while holding that pink spear.
Kimberly- POYAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Then the spear clashed with this giant titian and everything was engulfed with a bright light. With that, Kimberly had driven the Heart Spear into the titian's chest through his heart. Blood was leaking from both ends of this titian as it still tried to reach for Kimberly. Kimberly backed away slowly with a look of fear on her face as the titian's body was starting to decay right before her eyes. But then King Big D rushed in behind this titian and wedged another Heart Spear into him. The dark titian coughed up some blood as it flinched away from Kimberly. Then Flower Dee rushed in and impaled a third spear into this titian. Then Morpho Knight flew up above this titian and threw the fourth Heart Spear like a javelin and impaled him again. The titian dropped to the ground as his body was rotting to pieces. It reached out for Kimberly as his strength was fading.
Mysterious titian- KIM…BER…LY…
Then the mysterious titian gave in and his body was transformed into a large heart shaped crystal with those four spears still impaling it. Kimberly kneeled in front of this crystal and began crying. Eventually, Kimberly felt a hand placed on her shoulder. When Kimberly looked behind her, she saw Marco with a look on his face that said "I'm her for you" and Kimberly quickly wrapped her arms around him as she continued to cry. Meanwhile, the rest of the Super Mario Brothers' Team and Dream Friends surrounded them, also wanting to comfort Kimberly about what had just happened.
(End of the flashback and back to the Dream Palace in modern time)
Everyone was shocked at what Kyrin had just told them. Rick, Coo, and Kine nearly fainted at the end of it.
Kirby- Hang on…when Kimberly asked me to free someone that she failed to save back during that Perfect Tabuu incident...she was actually referring to…
Kyrin- Her father…Void Termina…
Susie- An S ranked god?!
Magolor- Kyrin, I know this god isn't as dangerous as Tabuu, but this might be more than we bargained for.
Kyrin- He's not really back. Void Termina is still in the Jamba Heart prison. However, whoever was trying to revive him succeeded in removing the Heart Spears from Void's heart, but caused the Jamba Heart to shatter to pieces.
Mario- But the threat of this god returning is still present if the pieces of the Jamba Heart are put back together, isn't it?
Kyrin- I believe so.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake. When they looked outside, they saw a large flying castle in the distance as it places itself on the furthest edge of Popstar.
Luigi- What the hell is that?!
Kyrin- That would be the Jamba Fortress, Void Termina's old castle.
Mario- I guess this means the one trying to gather the Jamba Hearts is trying to take the fight to us.
Kyrin- It would appear so. In that case, you all might need those, outside.
Then Kyrin points to the door leading out of the Dream Palace and everyone sees the Shooting Star, Bowser's Doomship, and the Lor Starcutter parked right outside the Dream Palace.
Bowser- My Doomship?! How did you…
Then Kyrin tosses Bowser the keys to the Doomship.
Kyrin- You might need to check your pockets more often. Cappy told me he found those keys on the floor of the Odyssey.
