Chapter 11: Through the Entrance Gates

(In the space above planet Popstar)

The Shooting Star with the Super Mario Brothers' Team, the Lor Starcutter with the Dream Friends, and the Doomship with Bowser's Team were flying through space and on their way to the Jamba Fortress. Bowser on the other hand had his claws folded and grunted at the bow of the Doomship.

Bowser- Hmf! Can't believe I have to stoop to doing this!

Eggman- You do realize that we agreed to assist in this fight was because we needed their help to find you while you were still under the Jamba Heart's control?

Medusa- We're not thrilled working with our enemies, but it's also not something we haven't done before. Perfect Tabuu…

Bowser- Yeah, I remember we fought Perfect Tabuu.

Then Bowser turned to face DeDeDe.

Bowser- And you, why did you tell that pink blob we would assist them in this fight?!

King DeDeDe- Sorry, but it was the only thing I could think of to help find all of you! And I needed Kirby to change you back. And when Kirby mentioned Adeleine, I…

Ganondorf- Hang on! That painter girl?

King DeDeDe- Yes.

Ganondorf- Why would you be concerned with her?

Bowser- You're not going soft on us, tubby?

King DeDeDe- Hey, she's like a little sister to me! I can't help but want to protect her if I can! But more importantly, we don't want this God of the Void in our way or controlling us again.

Giovanni- You do make a good point there.

Risky Boots- I do still have a few pocket memories of being under that corruption and I really don't want to go through that again.

Boss Cass- So I guess we just play along for now.

King K. Rool- And maybe we can get those heroes afterwards.

Bowser- Fine. But I'm still not liking this.

(Near the Jambastion Fortress)

Fawful was watching the Shooting Star through a pair of binoculars from his headgear. Eventually, Infinite approaches him from behind.

Infinite- Finally. Our little surprise for the Mario's is all set.

Fawful- Good! Now we just tell Marx to lead dummies and we deal with Mario's once and for all!

Infinite- Wasn't easy setting it up on that iron fortress without being spotted. Even with my Phantom Ruby to create illusions.

Fawful- Better, because they heading for fortress! But Fawful hope Marx loyalty still with Tabuu!

Infinite- Are you saying Marx is gonna betray us?

Fawful- Fawful look at Marx…Fawful seeing different jester…like Marx's heart is changing…and Fawful no like it!

Infinite- Come on. Let's get there and inform Marx it's time to spring out trap.

(Jambastion Gate)

The Shooting Star, Lor Starcutter, and the Doomship arrived and landed just in front of the gate leading inside the fortress.

Kirby- This is how we get inside?

Susie- According to what Kyrin told us, yes. This is the front entrance to the Jambastion Fortress.

As Marx was exiting the Lor Starcutter, he noticed a faint flashing of colors through the corner of his eye. He looked over to his left and saw a faint flash of colors from red, yellow, and green from behind a few crates. Marx nervously crept towards the stack of crates, hoping no one would notice him sneaking off. However, one small person did. Marx got behind the pile of crates and saw a videophone that looked like the same model Tabuu uses.

Marx- Oh shit…just when I was starting to have some fun…

Marx turned on the videophone and Fawful and Infinite appeared on the screen.

Infinite- I hope you haven't forgotten about us, Marx!

Marx- No! Of course not! I remember, I'm still one of Tabuu's servants, just like the rest of you!

Fawful- Good, because we have trap ready.

Infinite- Over on the west wing of this giant fortress is a dimensional cage and transporter. Once they walk into it, they'll all be contained and transported to Subspace where I'm sure Tabuu would love to his payback on what happened last time!

Marx- Ok…and how exactly will you get them to walk into this trap?

Fawful- Not we…you, Marx!

Marx- Me?!

Infinite- By now, they should trust you. That is why you'll need to lead them to the power generator room on the west wing of the Jambastion Fortress. Every single one of those heroes, from the Mario Brothers to Kirby! Bowser and his group I suppose you can leave out. But we need you to lure the entire Super Mario Brothers' Team there.

Marx- But…I don't think I can convince all of them at once to…

Fawful- Marx find way to make work or we tell Tabuu! Tabuu not be happy if you become traitor!

Infinite- You have three hours. Do it or you'll be sorry.

Then the screen turns off and the videophone falls apart. Marx frowned and felt split on his thoughts. Like how he was afraid of the punishment he'll face for betraying Tabuu and the thought of wanting to help Kirby and the Dream Friends stop this crisis that's happening. But little did Marx notice, Ribbon was hiding on the other side of the crates and listening in.

Ribbon- Marx…are you really gonna betray Kirby? Even after he was willing to give you a chance to redeem yourself?

Kirby's voice- Marx, where did you go?

Adeleine's voice- And where did you go too, Ribbon?

Ribbon quickly flew over to Adeleine after hearing her voice.

Ribbon- I'm right here, Adeleine!

Then Marx stepped from behind the crates, but sweeting like he was afraid of something while making a nervous smile.

Marx- I'm here too. Just…wanted to check up on something is all!

Just then a Jamba Heart appeared and began moving toward the gate. As soon as it reached the gate, it opened for the piece of the Jamba Heart to enter.

Luigi- Well that was easy!

Luigi rushed over to the gate, but it immediately shut behind the piece of the Jamba Heart.

Luigi- Hey!

Mario- It was opening the gate for the Jamba Heart to pass through. We'll have to find another way to get it open.

Then Kirby sees small electric plug near the top of the door.

Kirby- That must be connected to the gate. If I was Spark Kirby, I might be able to hotwire the locking mechanism.

Ash- Pikachu and I can help with that! Pikachu, thunderbolt!

Pikachu- Pika…CHUUUUUUUU!

Pikachu fired a bolt at Kirby who inhaled it and transformed into Spark Kirby.

Spark Kirby- POYO!

Ganondorf- Now open this door so we can get in there already!

Spark Kirby moved a few steps closer, but he stopped when a voice called out.

Mysterious voice- Halt, intruders!

Then these two large creatures in Jambastion armor appeared from above and almost landed on Spark Kirby. One looked like a racoon while the other looked like a fox.

Spark Kirby- Pon and Con?

Luigi- Kirby…you know these guys?

Spark Kirby- Sort of. They were a wrestling duo of the forest that were placed under Zero's control back when Gooey and I were fending off his invasion of Popstar. But I haven't seen them in since then. And they weren't wearing those armor plates either.

Con- By order of Lord Hyness, leader of Jambastion, no outsider shale pass through this gate to the Jambastion Fortress!

Pon- Not until Hyness has gathered all the pieces of the Jamba Heart to resurrect our dark lord!

Spark Kirby- Pon, Con, we don't have time for games like this!

King DeDeDe- Hello! Popstar to Kirby! It's clear that Tweddle Dee and Tweddle Dumb over here are under the Jamba Heart's corruption. They won't listen you until you first remove that corruption on their soul!

Then Pon and Con tried to punch Spark Kirby, but Donkey Kong and King K. Rool blocked it with their own punch.

King K. Rool- For a wrestling duo, they sure don't have much force to their punches. I'll bet even that chimp, Diddy Kong could hit harder then the two of you.

Donkey Kong- Don't get too cocky, K. Rool. They haven't even used the Jamba heart to pump them up yet.

Then several smaller racoons and foxes rushed in and tried to attack Donkey Kong and King K. Rool from behind. Luckily, Yoshi and Gooey wrapped their tongues around them before spitting them at Pon and Con. This knocked Pon and Con into the air. But before they could hit the ground, Luigi launched his Green Missile attack and bonked into them. This caused Pon and Con to bounce around like two pinballs until they both crashed into each other's heads and their Jambastion armor crumbled to dust. Just then, Spark Kirby purified them with a friend heart and Pon and Con returned to normal.

Pon- What happened?

Con- And why is my head ringing?!

King DeDeDe- (Snaps his fingers) Hey! How about you two lazy bums stop loafing around and open that gate to the fortress?

Pon- What's he talking about?

Then Spark Kirby briefly explains the situation.

Con- That's strange. I don't remember being guards for this place.

Pon- To think we've been brainwashed a second time.

Spark Kirby- So, will you let us in?

Pon- Sure thing, Kirby!

Then Pon and Con turned to face the gate and it suddenly opened up, allowing Kirby and the other to finally enter the Jambastion Fortress. However, Marx felt something unpleasant grip his chest as he wondered what he was going to do once inside.
