Welcome back! I'm really cranking these things out back to back. If you didn't like the last chapter I can understand. So the interactions were forced. I tried my best to make Ariel and Lei seem as natural as possible however some of you might have thought it to be a bit forced. It definitely would have been better during the day but again that raises more problems. Anyways let's look towards the future. This chapter consists of my own created arc. This arc will greatly change the way the characters think, and feel. It's also a huge opener for the rest of what I have planned.

A/N: I will be changing a lot from the original storyline. Some of you may not like it immediately but I guarantee It will not only make the story more enjoyable for you guys reading, but it will also allow me to enjoy writing it. It also gets boring just following canon. I hope to stray very far away from canon so I can keep spoilers to a minimum. If I ever do include major spoilers in the future though, I will leave a disclaimer first.

A/N I decided to put everything Leighton says in bold while he's using Sunshine. I just feel like it gives a stronger feeling to his character. Considering he's so prideful and always speaks quite prominently, it makes sense. Anyways enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own nothing, nothing at all

Chapter 5: A plague on both your houses

After I left Ariel, I decided to greet some nobles. I wanted to see what they thought of me.

"Hello, enjoying the party." I asked a group of older men.

"Oh Sword King Leighton. It's an honor to meet you." One of the men voiced.

"No, the honor is all mine sir. Is there anything you all would like? I wouldn't mind fetching it for you." I questioned.

"Some more wine would be great. Thank you bea- I mean sir." Another man said.

I bowed before walking away. I wasn't fetching shit. That asshole was about to call me a beast. It's true that's what I am but to humans calling someone a beast is an insult. As I walked through the party area I couldn't help but notice the Prime Minister staring at me. Darius was his name I believe. He had a very prominent double chin and looked like a slob but I'm not fatphobic.

I decided maybe I should break the ice.

"Good Eve-"

"Not another word from you beast. You forget your place." He cut me off.

His words caused people close to us to stop chatting and pay attention to the altercation. I remained silent. My mission was to see how people react to the declaration, perhaps this could bear good fruit.

"You think just because you're a Sword King under that idiot Sauros you can just waltz up to me? I should have you beheaded for your insolence. " He threatened. He then walked closer to me before whispering in my ears.

"I saw you with that bratty bitch Ariel. So you're on her side of this? I will definitely do away with you." He declared before smirking, and walking away.

Her side of this? Of what? Are these two quarreling? How the hell are a prime minister and a princess quarreling? I'm not completely aware of the rules regarding royalty and prime ministers, but aren't his words ground for demotion?

I set those thoughts aside as I walked towards a familiar idiot blonde who was currently flirting with three noble women, much to the annoyance of the red haired beauty, and the green haired cutie beside him.

"Yea I'm totally a badass. I was a whole saint class mage by age 5 you know." Rudy flexed.

"Oh my, you're quite strong." A silver haired girl complimented.

Jesus this is hard to watch. Come one dude you have two girls who are head over heels for you standing right beside you, and you choose to add to the harem?

"Excuse me." I interrupted. "Rudy, may I bother you for a moment?"

Rudy looked at me like I killed his dog. Damn this man really wanted to lose his virginity tonight.

"I'm kinda busy Lei, go somewhere else." He practically demanded.

I walked forward and got real close to him and whispered

"It's pretty important. I need some advice. I don't know who else to ask."

Rudy still looked a bit annoyed, but decided to follow me. Eris and Sylphy also joined us. We walked out of the party and up to my room. Once we arrived I motioned towards the bed. They complied and sat down.

"So what's so important you need advice?" Rudy asked, his annoyance was clear through his voice.

"Well I spent most of my time with the princess." I admitted much to the surprise of everyone.

"This is a big deal then." Rudy's surprise is evident.

Eris and Sylphy knew this was big too. Sauros had basically declared war on anyone who would dare oppose the Boreas Family. Considering the family's bad reputation within the kingdom, that pretty much meant everyone, including the Royal Family.

"Did she say anything that would imply her attacking us?" Eris spoke up this time.

"No, she was more or less friendly. In fact she seems to have some problematic matters concerning the King and Minister Darius." I added.

"So she's not an enemy, but she's an enemy of our enemy." Sylphy voiced her thoughts.

Rudy nodded before seemingly going into deep thought. He was the smartest one among us gathered here. Which is the main reason why I wanted to ask him for aid. If anyone knew what would be the best course of action it was him.

"Do you think Lord Sauros would approve of gaining the support of her faction? If we had the second princess on our side then that means inevitably we could gain the support of the whole kingdom with her being our public sponsor." Rudy said his thoughts on the matter.

"Honestly in a perfect world that would work, however there are many people who don't like her. A lot of nobles would rather see her head mounted on a pike instead of her sitting on the throne." Eris admitted.

Well this was quite the shitty situation. Do we enlist the princesses help? Technically we couldn't be worse off than we are now, however enlisting her help would also mean publicly admitting we want the throne. Yup this was definitely a situation a few 8 year olds and a 10 year old should be having to shoulder.

"We won't get anywhere just thinking about it. We must tell Lords Sauros and Phillip." I announced.

They nodded but we all remained within the room. Mainly because no one wanted to go back to the party. It was fun for a few minutes but everyone had their reasons for wanting to avoid it. Eris and Sylphy because they didn't want Rudeus flirting with more girls. Rudy because he was now in a quiet area with two girls he had basically already claimed. Me? I didn't want to go back only to be stalked by a certain princess. She was cute and all but being completely honest she scared the shit out of me. I don't want to be her damn pet.

I had closed my eyes trying to think about everything that had occurred and what it would mean for the Boreas Family. It would be easy to just run away and leave but that would mean certain death for everyone that remained, even my mother. She wouldn't leave them. I knew she wouldn't. She loved Eris like a daughter, she wouldn't run away while Eris was left unprotected and vulnerable.

I opened my eyes and what I saw was Rudy looking at me with a face that was screaming for me to leave. I blinked a few times finally understanding what he was insinuating. I nodded at my brother before speaking.

"Well I'm gonna go back to my bodyguard duties. You guys enjoy yourselves."

Rudy gave me a huge thumbs up before waving. The last thing I saw was a confused face on both Eris and Sylphy before I closed the door behind me.

The party was as boring as ever.

When I got downstairs I saw a few noblemen talking amongst each other, some old guys hitting on younger girls, old ladies hitting on younger boys etc.

My point is it reeked of high class affairs which not only was I not used to, I simply didn't care.

As I walked I was stopped by the same brown haired boy who was always with the princess, this time however she was nowhere to be seen.

"I don't believe I've introduced myself, my name is Luke Notos Greyrat." he introduced.

I looked at him as if he had grown a second head. Was he gonna act like he wasn't being a total asshole to me earlier? The audacity. I really didn't like this guy and who could blame me? The man did try to assault me earlier.

"I assume you know my name already but I'm Leighton Greyrat." I returned.

He held out his hand to which I firmly shook it.

"My princess wished to speak to you. Privately. Are you available?" He asked.

Great. I knew he wasn't trying to nice out of the kindness of his heart. No. He's a nobleman. All of them are greedy. They always want something. Though that got me thinking. What could the princess want with me? If she wanted me sexually I'd definitely have to give her a hard pass.

"I am, lead the way." I answered

He nodded before giving me a small smile. It was unusually warm. Like he was genuinely happy. Don't tell me he's gay. I started to panic. What was I going to do if he liked me. I have no problem with people who like the same gender, but liking me and being the same gender? That's a completely different story.

"By the way." I started. "I don't swing that way dude."

As we walked he turned around and looked at me. His face showed confusion. It took him a few seconds to completely process my words before facepalming.

"How the hell did you assume I was like that? In fact it's quite the opposite. Call me a connoisseur in the ladies department." He voiced his disgust.

I sighed in relief.

As we made our way outside I couldn't help but get a little on guard. After all, it was dark out. There were no street lights like my old world so the outside was shrouded in darkness. The only thing that provided any light was a few torches that were placed in front of the mansion. As we walked towards the courtyard I could see a group of knights all chatting with the princess, and a man holding a flame that illuminated the area.

"My lady." Luke said as we arrived.

"I have returned with the one you wish to speak with."

"Well done Luke." She praised before looking at me.

Her face flushed in the light of the fire. She didn't say anything for a while and kept averting her gaze from mine. Was she putting up an act? Just an hour ago she had been bursting with confidence as she approached me.

After a while of silence she regained her composure before addressing me.

"Thank you for taking the time out of your duty to meet with us. I would like to speak to Lord Sauros, however before that I wanted to ask you a question." She began. "What is your goal here. You do understand you and everyone you're associated with will now be looked at as an enemy of the different houses right? Tell me what is your reasoning for sticking with the Boreas house." Her face was serious. Her persona had completely shifted into that of a princess and she more or less demanded an answer.

I looked at the ground for a while thinking. What was my reasoning for staying? We already had the tuition money for a few years and could easily earn more from picking up adventure jobs. There was no reason to stay. I didn't view Phillip or Hilda in any high regard. Sauros viewed me like a grandson but the feeling wasn't mutual. I tolerated him at best. I respected him but at the same time hated him. Eris on the other hand. I had grown to care for. She had become as precious to me as Sylphy. Not to mention a rival. Even if she was far weaker.

That last part seemed unnecessary but true.

"My goal…" I hesitated before closing my eyes and rethinking my resolve. I wasn't some anime protagonist. I didn't have deep rooted passion, and I damn sure wasn't the heroic type. The truth was, I was simply in too deep, there was no going back.

"My goal is to make everyone I care about happy. That includes Lady Eris. I want to get stronger. I want to be the strongest. I've trained all my life in order to live life as easily as possible and I found myself in this situation. I can't run away. So princess. You ask my reason for staying? It's simple. It's because I can't run. I started this, and I'll see it through." I finished. My resolve may be shitty, but it's mine.

Ariel looked pretty surprised before bursting out into laughter. Even Luke and her other guards were doing their best to contain themselves. I for one didn't see what was so amusing.

"So you sign your life away, without realizing it, and now you're stuck with nowhere to turn. Oh you poor thing." She spat out in between breaths.

Yup this confirmed it. She's annoying. Laugh all you want. I may have been stupid accepting the whole damn kingdoms hate but I'm not gonna run away.

Not again. Not like I did in my past life. Life sucks but it's overcoming the shitty moments that makes life so meaningful. You learn something. I'm happy that I learned something, even if it took a reincarnation, godly sun powers, and the wrath of a vengeful truck god to realize it.

Ariel then smiled. This smile was warm. It reminded me a lot of my mothers smile or Zenith. The point is there was love in it.

"I have heard your resolve. Even though I can't quite make sense of it, I will respect it. Please lead me to Lord Sauros so we may begin our little chat." She said with a voice that melted my head once more.

I honestly couldn't tell if she was being cute to manipulate me or if this was genuine. I really hoped for the latter. Rudy always got all the girls I aimed for.

First Sylphy who I had planned to put the childhood friend trope into action before he had voiced he wanted her. I stepped back. Let myself fall behind. I didn't mind. After all, if our life was an anime, he would be the main character. It was simply in his nature.

Then Eris. Upon our first meeting I thought maybe just maybe I could get it to work. She was older, sure, but being Ghislaine's son surely gave me points. Not to mention she was peak Tsundere. That was put to shit when I had been tasked with guarding Sauros day in and day out while Rudy took time to teach Eris, Sylphy, and Ghislaine magic. Before I knew it, I could see love in their eyes for Rudy. It's how life goes I guess. I may be a bit jealous but I'm still happy for my older brother.

Maybe this is my chance.

"Um hello, you there?" A soft voice questioned.

Oh I lost myself in thought

"Sorry about that, I was just thinking about some things. Follow me, I'll take you to Lord Sauros now."

Her smile had transformed into that of a pervert again.

"Oh pray tell what 'things' were you thinking about." She asked seductively.

I tuned her out as I continued walking, getting a cute pout in return. Yea maybe this could work out.

As we walked, her guards assumed defensive positions around her. They wouldn't even let me walk close to her. I honestly didn't mind. They were doing their job and quite well at that. That being said, they had a few holes in their defenses. If there had been an enemy of my level, they could have easily killed their precious princess and all of them faster than they could unsheathe their swords. I'd say most of them were intermediate at best. Perhaps a few advanced among them.

As we entered the building we were met by the King and his guards as well as the prime minister. Darius looked smug but I didn't want to start anything so I decided to keep walking. Of course life can't be that simple right. The huge fellow stepped in my way. He lowered his face inches from mine before starting.

"Oh if it isn't Sword King Leighton. Have you forgotten yourself. The nerve to walk past his highness without so much as a greeting. I hope you're prepared for the consequences." He spat out. I could literally see his turkey neck gobbling, but I guess the more noticeable thing would be the turkey meat that came out of his mouth every time he spoke. My face was drenched in his disgusting saliva.

I never knew I could hate someone so much. I have disliked many people in this life and my past one, but never ever would I say I hate someone. Hate is a strong word which I associate with killing. To me if you hate someone it means if you watched them die it would bring you more happiness than sorrow. I felt that for no one. Not until this moment at least. I wanted to kill this guy. Pull his teeth out slowly, make him feel all the pain while he begs for his life.

Jesus that got dark real quick. Why the hell am I thinking like this? He just spat in my face a little and threatened me, it's not like he killed my dog or anything.

"Here Leighton." Ariel broke me out of my thoughts by offering me a handkerchief. I gladly accepted before wiping the grease and spit off my face.

"Oh my Princess Ariel, I didn't see you there. My humble apologies. Please forgive me, I didn't know a little worm like you was still in attendance. I would have thought that you had run back to the castle by now." Darius taunted.

Ariel smiled. It was just like Zenith's smile when she caught us acting up. A smile that looked sweet but infinitely menacing. Darius was unfazed though. He took another bite of his turkey leg before continuing.

"I wonder if you plan on speaking to the bastard Sauros? I wouldn't be surprised, however do understand it wouldn't be the best for your health."

Yup this guy was evil. Classic villain.

Ariel was now sporting a look of anger as were her guards. The guy who had been holding the flame outside looked like he was going to shit himself any second now. Luke was pissed, royally pissed.

"I do plan on visiting him actually, and you're right, it won't be the best for my health, however I assure you it will be the best for my future." Ariel shot back.

I looked over at the King to see his face was passive. He didn't even look as if he registered his daughter's existence.

"Also do not worry Prime Minister Darius, I do not plan on returning to the castle. All my servants will arrive here shortly so you needn't worry about my safety." Ariel announced.

Darius gained a look of annoyance. Before he could say anything else the King started to walk away. All of his entourage quickly followed him including Darius.

After they had left the mansion, Ariel let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"You alright?" I asked.

"I'm fine, let's continue."

We walked over to where Sauros was standing with Phillip and Hilda. Ghislaine was also there but a few steps behind them.

"Lord Sauros, the Second Princess of the Asura Kingdom, Ariel Anemoi Asura, wishes to have an audience with you." I announced with a bow.

Sauros grew a faint smirk before bowing slightly.

"I have been expecting you Princess Ariel, please follow me to my study. Bring only your most trusted, we have much to discuss." Sauros explained.

So it was his plan all along. I can't say I'm too surprised. Having the backing of a princess is better than having no one.

Ariel nodded before looking at Luke and the guy who had been holding the flame.

"Luke, Derrick. Let's go." Ariel ordered. They both bowed before following their princess.

I kind of wanted to see how negotiations were going to transpire but I decided against it. After all, I was a bodyguard. Nothing more nothing less. I decided to return back to my room and check on the girls. Here's hoping Rudy hasn't deflowered them yet.

I arrived at the door and before opening it I paused. I realized that I could end up fucking everything up so I knocked. For a moment there was no answer. Then chaos occurred inside the room. It sounded like someone fell off the bed, Then I heard muffled shouting coming from Eris. Even with my advanced hearing I couldn't tell what she was saying because she was stuttering.

Eventually the noise died down and Rudy came to the door wearing nothing but his underwear.

"What the fuck do you want." He whispered.

I stared at him for what seemed like an eternity. He was standing in the doorway so I couldn't enter without pushing him. I finally composed myself enough to speak.

"Dude your 8." I pointed out.

He stared daggers at me before smiling and trying to slam the door in my face. I caught it with my hand.

"Bro please just go, this is my chance." Rudy whispered this time desperate

"I thought you wanted me to leave so you could bond, not commit a damn crime. How old are you mentally." I questioned. He paused before looking down. "Think about their feelings man. You really gotta kill this perverted nature. Sylphy isn't even 10 yet and Eris just turned 10." I finished.

Rudy looked like I had told him he would never be able to see a woman again.

"Bro all I'm saying is think about them."

With that he finally let me in. When I walked in I was horrified at what I saw. Sylphy and Eris were both laying on their bellies shirtless.

"I was giving Eris a massage for her birthday when Sylphy said she wanted one as well." Rudy admitted with shame.

Upon seeing me enter the room Eris and Sylphy grew even redder than they were. Eris covered her chest before grabbing a pillow and chucking it at me.

"GET OUT BOTH OF YOUUUU!"

Rudy and I ran for our lives before taking cover behind the now closed door.

"You're disgusting." I simply said before getting up and walking away. Rudy followed me.

We arrived at Sauros' study. That's when I noticed Rudy's attire. He was still in nothing but his underwear.

"Dude go change." I ordered.

He was looking quite downcast. Like he was on the verge of tears.

"Look, you're not perfect. No one is. What you were doing is wrong. It's good you understand that now. Learn from this experience and never do it again. I don't hate you for it." I tried to cheer him up.

He nodded before walking back to his room. I feel kind of bad but at the same time, what he was about to do is by all means fucked. Even if I was in his situation, I wouldn't do anything until we were older no matter how much they begged. In this case they probably barely even have heard about the birds and the bees.

A few minutes later Rudy returned wearing a white coat with fur around the collar, black pants with a white symbol of a griffin etched into it and some white shoes. He also had his sword.

At first I was confused why he got so dressed up. I realized after looking in his eyes. He's ready to attack. To execute whatever order Sauros comes out giving. We knew we would be going on the attack first. However Rudy has already thought ahead. The best time to strike is now. While they're returning home.

Rudy smiled before nodding at me. I nodded back before running back to my room.

I knocked on the door.

"SYLPHY, ERIS. PREPARE YOURSELVES REMEMBER OUR ORDERS."

Flashback a few days before Eris' birthday.

Lord Sauros had called all the bodyguards to his study. Rudy and Eris along with Phillip and Hilda were also present.

"I think it's about time you learn a bit about the Boreas Greyrat past." Sauros announced after a long silence.

So serious. The old man I've known has always been quite aggressive, so aggressive that it seems like an act. However the mood he's giving off now. It's completely different.

"My son, Phillip, is actually my second child. My first son, Marcus, is the true heir to the Boreas Family. It is within our families tradition that all men born under the Boreas name are to live under the heir of the family head." Sauros started.

All my questions were slowly starting to be answered. Why Hilda hated Rudy and I, why Phillip seemed to have a hidden anger he refrained from showing. Why we are to be presented to the Kingdom, Why the Boreas Family wants war. It's all because of these stupid rules.

"You know, Eris used to have 2 brothers. An older one and a younger one. They were both taken away from us by my brother. It was by the insistence of the King." Philip admitted.

Eris' gaze met the floor. She was definitely holding back tears. Lady Hilda also seemed very bothered by the conversation.

"To fight the rules of our house means to fight the Kingdom. You must all understand that moving forward." Sauros announced.

Everyone in the room nodded.

"That being said. I will fight for my family's happiness. Marcus is cruel, he is no longer someone I consider my son. Eris' birthday can be used in our favor. We will make our announcement of power. Be brave, be ready. I may call for your strength at any moment." Sauros finished

End of flashback

"So we're really doing this." Sylphy asked as she opened the door to my room. She had gotten back in the green dress she had been wearing during the party.

For some reason Sylphy always liked wearing pants under her dresses. I never questioned it. It's not my problem.

"If it's what grandfather wishes, we will strike." Eris declared. She wasn't wearing the white dress with red accents she had been previously wearing. Now she was wearing a black short sleeve button up, with gray pants.

"Those pants… They're mine?" I asked. Eris nodded before answering.

"I like them. They're comfy, and they're really stretchy. Seriously Grandpa must love you to give you such nice clothes.

"You know why he gives them to me. I'm his main bodyguard. It wouldn't be good to have to switch my clothes every few hours because they can't fit."

Eris shrugged before stepping outside of the room. Sylphy quickly followed her.

I sighed before entering my room. I was already dressed up in my normal bodyguard drip, but it was pretty bright. I decided to switch it up incase of a night raid. I opened my closet to see nothing but silver or white clothing. Gotta admit Sauros did like the flashy look for his servants.

After not finding anything that met my standards, I walked over to Rudy's room. After opening the closet I saw a few black long sleeve shirts.

I took one and put it on. It was a bit tight. Even though it was the dead of night, I was easily still bigger than Rudy in my true form. I've basically been a child bodybuilder since birth.

After searching for a bit I couldn't find any pants. Now that I think about it, apart from just now, has Rudy ever worn pants? Everytime I see him he wears shorts, excluding winter time.

I decided to settle for the silver pants in my closet. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than wearing black shorts.

As I arrived back at Sauros' study, the door was closed. Rudy, Eris and Sylphy were nowhere to be seen.

I knocked on the door.

"Leighton? Enter." The voice belonged to Phillip.

I didn't hesitate and opened the door. In the room were Phillip, Hilda, Ghislaine, Rudy, Sylphy, Eris, Ariel, Luke, Derrick, and Sauros.

Upon entering I received a few nods, and a questioning look from Rudy.

"Dude, you missed everything, and is that my shirt?"

"Mhm, didn't have any black. Hope you don't mind."

Rudy just shrugged before turning his attention back to Sauros.

I also glanced at the old man. He was staring at me.

"Leighton, you missed most of the plan." Sauros started. "If we want perfect execution then you'll have to get a debrief on the way."

I nodded as the bodyguards and Rudy got up.

"Our family will stay here, as will the princess and her servants. We have come to an agreement and for the foreseeable future they will be staying with us. At least until we take this country." Phillip informed me.

So it's just gonna be Sylphy, Rudy, Ghislaine and I? I didn't mind. Honestly I preferred this. Eris was around intermediate in swordsmanship. No offense to her but right now she'd only slow us down.

The princess was obviously staying out of this initial attack. It was a smart move. She's testing our abilities. If we can't pull off something like this then how the hell would we assist in her claiming the throne.

"Let's go kitten, I'll explain on the way." Ghislaine said.

I couldn't help but notice the princess trying her hardest to contain laughter. Was something funny? It didn't take long for her giggles to turn into full blown laughter.

"K-KITTEN! OH POOR WITTLE KITTY." She teased between laughs.

Even the stoic Luke was laughing into his shirt. Everyone else was dead in laughter. Even my mother, which made me think she does this on purpose.

"I don't need a sadistic masochist laughing at me." I shot back. Ariel's laugh had come to a complete halt. Her gaze met the floor and she was redder than the Netflix logo. Everyone else looked at me with shock as If I had said something unforgivable, everyone except Rudy who was on the ground rolling in his own tears.

"A S-sadistic Princess, that I c-can understand, but a m-m-masochist too?" Rudy could barely even form a proper sentence. His laughter echoed through the silent room.

"How dare you insult Princess Ariel like that?" Luke questioned.

He seemed just about ready to draw his sword. Ariel was about to say something before I decided to speak up.

"We kinda have some people attack. We can deal with this later." I then walked out of the door all while maniacally laughing. I'd be damned if I let some pretty boy try to kill me. Even if I could beat him with my hands tied behind my back.

A few seconds after I left the room, Ghislaine, Rudy, and Sylphy came running out behind me before catching up to me and pulling me along as well. "Welp, the mood has definitely changed." I said. "So what's the plan?" We jumped out of a mansion window landing safely with Rudy's wind magic before he started to explain.

"Our mission is to kill Lord Marcus." Rudy said with a bit of fear and sympathy in his voice. I nodded. Even if I had understood the information, I didn't want to believe it. How could I be so damn blind. With war comes death. Tonight we would have to kill. Not just Marcus but all that opposed us on our mission.

"Marcus didn't attend the party, but his wife Mary did. She should be heading back to their home now and shouldn't arrive until later tonight." Ghislaine explained. "I see I understand now." I didn't need them to explain the rest to me. They wanted to catch up to his wife before killing all the guards and taking her hostage. After that we would use her as leverage for Marcus to reveal himself. We would take back the Boreas name and Marcus' head at the same time. It was a cruel plan.

"Who came up with this idea?" I asked. No one looked at me but Rudy spoke up. "Phillip and Hilda. They said they had been devising this plan for years now." So they want Marcus to suffer huh. Understandable with the pain he had caused them, but did they forget that this is a life we're talking about? I'm sure Marcus has kids of his own, how will they feel when their father dies? When their mother comes to their home screaming for mercy at sword point. It turned my stomach and I'm sure it was the same for Rudy and Sylphy. My mother has killed many people. Over time she has told me many stories of her adventures, she's killed so much that she doesn't even feel anything when she does it anymore.

She would definitely be the one leading this operation. Not to mention at night I'd give the win to Ghislaine 7 out of 10 times.

As we continued running towards the outskirts of Roa, we couldn't help but notice Sylphy wasn't doing so well.

"Sylphy you alright?" Rudy seemed genuinely worried for the girl. He wasn't showing a hint of perversion. His expression was full of seriousness and concern.

"I-I'm fine. I-it's just I don't think i'm ready for this." she admitted. Rudy gave a look of sadness before going into what I presume was deep thought. Only after a few moments did he finally speak again.

"Sylphy, I think you should head back."

"Don't worry Rudy I ca-" she didn't get to finish before Rudy cut her off. "I guess I didn't make myself clear, Sylphy head back. You're too innocent for something like this. Let my brother, Ghislaine, and I handle this." Sylphy looked like she was going to say something else but ultimately stopped running. We all stopped as well as Rudy turned back around to whisper something in her ear. Even with my advanced hearing I couldn't pick up what he said but it definitely left a huge impression on Sylphy because she was smiling brightly.

"Rudy, if you… No, when you come back, let's get stronger together." Sylphy demanded, her beautiful smile never wavering. Rudy smiled his usual stupid bright smile and gave her a thumbs up before running over to us.

We watched as Sylphy ran back towards Roa until she completely disappeared from our sight.

"Didn't know you cared so much." I teased getting a middle finger from Rudy. Ghislaine watched our antics in confusion. "We need to get moving, we've had enough of delay as is." she said.

With that we started again towards the plains of the Fittoa region.

—-

A couple hours later

We had been running for a little over an hour before we decided to horse jack a passing merchant. Now we had our own little cart to rest our feet and decide how we would go about the mission.

"So how are we gonna do this?" I asked seriously. "We're gonna kill the guards then hold the woman hostage. I'm sure you would have figured that out kid." Ghislaine responded back equally as seriously. "Yea I knew, but I mean after that." Ghislaine took a few moments of silence. "Take her to the house, say it's your life or hers." she finished.

This plan has far too many holes.

"What if he doesn't surrender?" Rudy asked this time. "We kill them all." Ghislaine answered coldly.

I knew she was gonna say something like that. Even if Phillip and Hilda hate Marcus, there isn't a good reason for why so many innocents have to die.

"Listen kids, our mission is to kill Marcus, and retrieve not only Phillip and Hilda's sons, but also his children as well. Obviously I'm not telling you to kill everyone else, but if someone is getting in the way of those objectives, you kill them." she explained. Ghislaine's face seemed to have grown a little more caring as she explained that last bit. Was she concerned for us? That should be obvious. What kind of mother would want their 8 year old son to kill others? No, I'm sure she's conflicted about this as well.

—-

After 3 more hours of riding in the cart.

We finally saw a cart in front of us. There were 8 horses with armed men riding around the cart. Whoever was in the center definitely was important.

"That must be our madam." Ghislaine said as she started to rise. "Leave them to me, I will deal with them myself."

"WAIT." Rudy shouted, unfortunately it was loud enough for our future victims to hear. "Can't we try to avoid bloodshed? How about we just threaten them with our ranks first."

Ghislaine facepalmed before nodding. I would rather avoid needless murder as well. If this worked, maybe we wouldn't have to kill anyone except Marcus, and maybe we could even just take Marcus back alive. It would certainly make things a lot easier on our little hearts.

"HEY! YOU BEHIND US. STATE YOUR BUSINESS." One bearded swordsman mounted on his horse demanded. He seemed to be the leader.

Ghislaine hopped off the cart. "We want your master's head, we know his wife is in the carriage. I am the Sword King Ghislaine, with me are the Sword King Leighton and the King Water Mage Rudeus. We demand that you hand over your mistress and escort us back to your mansion without any trouble, do that and there will be no need for bloodshed here."

The guards looked scared shitless. It's not everyday you have to fight a sword king, much less two and a king class mage.

"What business do you have with my husband? A new voice questioned. It was none other than our future hostage. Mary Boreas Greyrat. "You wish for my husband's head? Is it because of his relationship to your master? I ask that you show him mercy. Please I beg of you."

Ghislaine's gaze shifted to us. Both Rudy and I nodded. Ghislaine then returned her vision to the beautiful brown haired green eyed woman. "Our master has ordered the death of your husband, though I'm sure he won't mind us returning with him alive. Very well, lead us to your mansion and hand over your husband and children, do that and no blood has to be spilled."

"M-my children? Why do you wish for my precious babies?" Mary questioned with tears in her eyes.

Jeez watching this hurt.

"I will not repeat myself, do we have a deal?" Ghislaine replied coldly.

Mary looked at her guards before looking back at us. She was definitely weighing her options. I'm sure she understands that at this point there's no chance out. 1 sword saint probably would have been enough to take out her forces. She was greatly out matched.

"I REFUSE I WILL NOT LET YOU HAVE MY CHILDREN!"

Then again, she is a mother. A mother values their children's life more than their own.

"ATTACK!" She ordered.

The three of us remained unmoving as all 8 of the swordsmen on horseback charged us.

"Rudy, Lei, you can't say I didn't try." Ghislaine's voice seemed full of sadness. I'm sure she would have rathered a peaceful solution as well, but life is never that simple.

Ghislaine stepped forward and drew her sword. Each of the swordsmen were still mounted on their horses screaming their war cries. They knew they would die, yet they charged. Even if these men were our enemies, they were honorable to say the least. Not only that, they reminded me of someone. It took me a moment to realize just who. Commander Erwin and the survey corps.

It has been so long since I've reincarnated here, everything just feels normal. I bet my old self would be freaking out if he was in this situation, but me? Not one bit. All I felt for the men in front of me was respect. Respect they deserve. Respect they would keep even in the land of the dead, or wherever the hell they'd go.

Ghislaine charged at the men as well. The result was bloody. A massacre. Complete one sided annihilation. With her first attack she completely cut off the leader's hand and head all in one strike, quickly and fluently moving to the next two who were behind him, cutting the first one in half with a vertical slash before moving on all fours to the next one and stabbing her sword through his skull, specifically his nasal bone.

The remaining soldiers looked even more terrified but still charged. Ghislaine pulled back her sword before taking a powerful step towards a guard and completely decapitating him. She then side stepped towards another and cut him in half at the waist before piercing another in the stomach.

It was a terrifying sight. Each kill was so damn brutal. It was taking everything in my body not to empty my stomach onto the ground. I looked over to Rudy who was already puking.

There were now only two guards left. Ghislaine was completely covered in blood, guts and brain matter.

No going back now.

She rushed the last two, who fought valiantly to the end, unfortunately never even seeing her attacks coming as their heads met the dirt simultaneously.

Mary had watched everything. She was too terrified to move, after all even if she did she'd be tracked and hunted. Ghislaine slowly walked up to her before palming her head and lifting her up by her skull.

"Those good men wouldn't have had to die if you had just accepted my offer. Now they are dead. In the end nothing changes. We will have your children and your husband will die." Ghislaine spat her words with venom. She truly did sound like an antagonist.

She finished her speech and tossed the beautiful woman aside.

"Lei, Rudy, give me some time to get cleaned up." Ghislaine started as she grabbed Mary and walked towards a little creak. "While I'm gone…Bury those men." She finished as she and Mary left.

So maybe she wasn't as cold as I had thought. All the bloodshed left me sick, I thought she would be unaffected but by the way she sounded, it must still hurt her very much.

There was a problem with burying though. Rudy was still emptying his stomach and refused to come close. I simply refused to touch the bodies, or what was left of them. I decided to use earth magic to dig the holes and move the bodies.

"P-please." a low voice begged. It stunned both Rudy and I. The voice seemed to be coming from one of the men. As we got closer we realized it was the one that Ghislaine had stabbed in the stomach. The wound was fatal, but not immediately.

"P-please ki-kill m-me." The man begged once more. "I-it's unb-earable." Rudy and I didn't know what to do. We were both shaking uncontrollably. Kill him? We couldn't do something so cruel. I understand he's suffering, but the wound is fatal, he doesn't have long anyways. In mere minutes his soul will leave his body, so why. Why does he need us to do it?

I looked at Rudy only to see tears falling from his eyes.

Rudy's POV

This man is begging for death. The look in his eyes. It's familiar. It reminds me of myself. There's no hope left in those eyes. Just like how there was no hope in mine. I can't believe I thought I was doing so good in this world. With this new life. A second chance. Look where I end up. Looking into the same sad eyes. Even if they aren't mine, even now I can't do anything to purify those eyes. Or maybe I can.

I unsheathed the blade anchored to my hip. Before pointing it to the man's throat. He seemed like he was trying to say something but the blood he was suffocating on stopped his words from reaching us. However, taking another look at his eyes told me everything I needed to hear.

'Thank you'

His eyes were thanking me. Giving him the sweet relief of death. Giving him freedom. I brought my sword down, and he stopped struggling. The tears in my eyes grew even more. The moment felt unreal. My first kill. It wasn't something to be even a little happy at. It hurt. It hurt so much. Even if he was an enemy he didn't seem like a bad guy. At least not bad in my eyes. I'm not one to judge people based on their character. After all, I was far from perfect in my old life.

Then I thought back to the moments before we left Sylphy. The promise I made to her. The promise to protect her forever. Is this the sort of dirty work it entails? If something like this can get me so down, how could I ever protect her, or Eris for that matter.

I couldn't hold it anymore. My sobs grew louder and louder, until I was completely crying. Tears and snot started to stain my face. I changed those eyes, but at what cost. My hands are no longer clean. As I continued to cry I felt a hand on my back. I didn't even look up to see who it was. It was only the two of us here after all.

"Rudy, I'm sorry I let you do that. I should have been the one to finish him." Lei apologized, though I could tell from his voice he was crying as well.

"I'm your big brother Lei. There's no reason why you should get your hands soaked with blood. At least not while I'm around."

I could feel Lei wrap me in a hug as we both continued to cry together.

Return to Leighton's POV

After we shared our emotions, Rudy withdrew his sword from the man's neck before cleaning it with a handkerchief he had received from Sylphy back in our home village. He was far from happy, but he looked better than he had just a few minutes ago.

Ghislaine and Mary returned. Ghislaine had tried her best to clean the blood off of her, and she got most of it, except for the blood that stained her clothes. Fortunately for her that wasn't much. She didn't even wear a full shirt, just barely enough to cover her rack. Which is actually a bit annoying to look at being her son and all. I mean who is she trying to impress?

"Something happened while I was gone?" Ghislaine questioned. I was about to answer but Rudy beat me to it. "Nothing happened, we're good. Let's go." Ghislaine hesitantly nodded before throwing a tied up Mary into the cart we had stolen from the merchant.

I don't know what Ghislaine said to Mary but I could see a look of complete guilt on her face. I mean she had to have known rebelling would end like this right? Seriously desperate mothers are terrifying. Due to her actions many died. I'm sure she understands that.

Once the cart started moving I decided that I'd been through enough headache for one day and decided to lay down and shut my eyes for as long as possible. Rudy seemed to think it was a good idea, because I could hear him doing the same. It didn't take me long to drift off.

8 hours later

I awoke to the bird's songs and beautiful sunlight trying its hardest to make its way through the forest trees. Rudy was already awake, but Mary was asleep. Ghislaine was also awake but she looked exhausted. I felt bad for sleeping while she had to keep us going all night.

"Mother, if you want, I can take over."

Ghislaine yawned before answering. "You don't know how to steer the cart. I'm fine. It will be another 3 days before we reach the family mansion, so we're gonna have to stop and rest anyway."

I honestly had forgotten just how big the Asura kingdom is. It must be pretty big if going from one place to another takes 3 days and some change.

In the distance I could see a small village.

"Is that where we're stopping mother?"

"Yup. I need to shut my eyes."

We rolled into the village. It seemed like a small farming village, much like our own home. We stopped at a little shack around the outskirts.

"I've been to this village during my adventuring days. No one uses this shack, so this is where we're gonna stay for the day." Ghislaine explained. Rudy and I just nodded. We entered and it was actually bigger than I thought. It could easily fit around 10 people comfortably, though it only had one room and a lot of rusty farming equipment.

After escorting Mary inside Ghislaine layed down on a bulk of hay before falling asleep. Rudy and I had just woken up, but it did no good to use up our energy now so we both closed our eyes as well.

3 days later

The rest of our trip consisted of the same routine. We would rest during the day and travel during the night. Mary had put up little fight during the whole trip.

We arrived around 2 pm. The Boreas Head Mansion. It was around the size of a small stadium.

"These people are loaded! This is the kind of house I'll buy for my family." Rudy exclaimed, wearing his iconic grin. Ghislaine slapped the back of his head. "Business Rudeus don't forget."

Rudy was annoyed. Rightfully so. Ghislaine just took him out of his little perverted fantasy.

"Wait at least until they're of age, Rudy." I sighed. Rudy hesitated before nodding. Mary looked worried. No doubt fearing for her husband and children.

As we walked closer to the mansion, some unknown force struck my mind. It was something I never felt before. It felt familiar, yet different. Something, or someone inside the mansion was causing this feeling. It caused my body to shake. Not in fear, or anger, but excitement. This feeling was both calm, and terrifying, radiant, and dull, almighty, and peaceful. This mission is definitely gonna get more interesting from here on out.

"Lei, what's wrong, why'd you stop?" Ghislaine asked. "I don't know how to explain it. Just know there's someone very powerful in that mansion." Rudy and Ghislaine both changed their expressions to seriousness before nodding.

I really don't know what it is that is causing me to feel this way, but whatever it is. It's strong. I don't even know if I could beat it.

Finally we reached the door of the mansion. It was completely surrounded by guards. Each one fully armored in gold. Not much protection, but it sure as hell looked cool.

"State yo- MILADY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO LADY MARY!?" The head guard, and the only one not wearing a golden helmet asked. Ghislaine stepped forward while carrying Mary over her shoulders. "She's unharmed…for now. We wish to speak to your Lord. Send him and the children of the house out or-" Ghislaine then dropped Mary on the ground before putting her sword to the terrified woman's throat. "I don't think I need to explain what will happen."

The guards paled. They started shouting amongst each other. Questioning their captain on what they should do. Attack? Listen? Only one of those choices made sense.

"Do as they say. Summon Lord Marcus and his children at once." The captain ordered. One of the men then ran off inside the mansion.

It was a very awkward few minutes waiting for the guard to return. It was a huge staredown between Ghislaine and the men. Rudy and I just hung back whistling hoping to cool everyone down. Eventually even a few of the guards joined in on the tune we were whistling. It was an Asura Kingdom classic after all called 'The seven great powers.' It was a beautiful song naming each of the seven great powers from weakest to strongest and adding a little explanation to each. Lilia used to sing it to us when we were younger and Zenith and Paul would often hum it.

As we entered the closing stage of the song, the doors swung open with force. The man who had done it was none other than the same man we were sent to kill. Marcus Boreas Greyrat. His eyes were the first thing I noticed. They were red, just like Phillip's, Sauros' and Eris'. They were also full of concern and worry.

"DARLING! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Marcus shouted. "I'm fine dear." Her whisper was barely even audible. She was scared shitless. Ghislaine's sword still hadn't moved from her neck.

As I looked back at Marcus I noticed behind him were 5 kids. 2 of them looked older than us by quite a bit, while the other 3 looked around our age, maybe a little older or a little younger. Among the older ones were a girl and a boy. I'd say they were both anywhere from 11-13. The girl had brown hair and red eyes. This was definitely Marcus' oldest daughter. The boy had brown hair with red ends. His eyes were also red. Considering that Phillip had told us that one of Eris' brothers was older I assume this is him.

The other three consisted of 2 girls and a boy. The two girls were identical in every way, well almost every way. Both had brown hair, but one of them had full green eyes, while the other had one red eye and one green eye much like me. The boy however had full red hair. His eyes were also red. Eris' younger brother.

"MOTHER!" All of the kids yelled. Eris' younger brother seemed to be crying while the rest of them bore a look of hatred and anger at us.

Once I heard their cry, I completely understood. We really are the bad guys. Eris' brothers were taken away at birth. They don't even know that they were robbed from their parents. To them we're just outsiders threatening their mother. It left a weird feeling in my gut. Though that was definitely not the only weird feeling I got.

Now that they had come outside, I could tell who that weird feeling was coming from. It was the girl with the bicolored eyes. She was like me. Definitely. She had a power given to her by Truck-kun. What was it though? Was she like Rudy and I? Was she reincarnated into this world as well?

"What do you want with my wife?" Marcus spat at us. "Nothing." Ghislaine answered, causing confusion amongst our audience.

"Our business isn't with your wife. It's with you and your children." Ghislaine explained.

Fear seemed to strike the whole Boreas Family. They seemed to be going through a minor mental breakdown.

Rudy started walking forward before stopping a few meters from the guards who stood in front of their masters, ready to attack.

"I think we got things off to a bad start. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Rudeus Greyrat, the two with me are Ghislaine Dedoldia and Leighton Greyrat. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lord Marcus and family." Rudy finished with a bow. His introduction seemed to calm down the family a little but they were still heavily on guard and very angry.

"Did you say Ghislaine De-"

"DARLING, MY CHILDREN, MIND YOURSELVES. THE TWO OF THEM ARE SWORD KINGS, AND THE BLONDE ONE IS A KING CLASS WATER MAGE!" Mary cut her husband off with a major warning.

This new revelation sent chills down the entire family's spines. Or at least from what I could tell. They looked like they were ready to shit bricks any second now.

"Since we're introducing ourselves." I started while walking to where Rudy was standing and stopping beside him. "We are here on orders from Lords Sauros and Phillip Boreas Greyrat. Our mission is to bring the children of Marcus Boreas Greyrat back to our masters alive. As for you, Lord Marcus. Our mission is to bring back your head." I announced as calmly and stoically as possible. Internally I was screaming. The situation sucked no matter how you look at it.

With my announcement the family turned pale. They all looked at Marcus who was also scared shitless. "And if I refuse your demands?" Marcus pressed, surely already knowing the answer to his stupid question.

I dropped my head and sighed before recomposing myself and answering "A massacre."

Rudy looked nervous as all hell and Ghislaine looked ready for anything. The family was looking at their father who seemed to be weighing his options, not like he had any.

"Is there any way I can buy you off? What about 100 gold coins, no 500 gold coins each. That's gotta be way more than what my brother and father are paying you, correct? Name your price, please have mercy." Marcus pleaded.

That wasn't too bad of a deal to be honest. 500 gold coins was enough to set us up for life. We could live comfortably without ever working a day in our lives and still have half of it left to give our children once we pass on.

I looked over at Rudy who seemed to be in deep thought, no doubt thinking the same way I was. Our next course of action was made clear when I looked at my mothers face. Her expression had not changed and her sword had not wavered. There was no out for them.

"You're correct, Phillip and Sauros aren't paying us near that much, however we are loyal. Understand this. From the day we were given our orders, you were already dead." I explained.

This got a look of hopelessness from the entire family, though Marcus looked like he had already died. Which wasn't too far from the truth, no matter what he did, inevitably he was a dead man.

"You think my children will just go with you? No, they care for their mother and myself too much to leave us." Marcus tried again.

I sighed. This was starting to get annoying. "I don't care what you children want to do. In the end they will come with us. Even if we have to drag them back. If you wish Lord Marcus, you may also accompany us back. However I can't say that the result will be much different. Enough talking. If the next words that come out of your mouth aren't a form of confirmation, shit is gonna get real." Ghislaine pitched in.

Marcus stared at the dirt before looking over at his family who were all looking at him.

"Do you promise my family's safety?" Marcus asked. Tears falling from his face. I looked at Ghislaine who shrugged.

"We do not speak for our masters. Though if it means anything, I doubt they will be harmed." Rudy answered.

Marcus sighed in what I assume was relief.

"Alright then." Marcus started before walking past his guards and towards us. "If my family gets to live I have no fear of death."

"FATHER WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" The children yelled.

"MASTER PLEASE RETURN IT ISN'T SAFE." The guards cried. Marcus stopped just a few feet from Rudy and I before kneeling.

"I'd rather die here then see the look of satisfaction in Phillips eyes as he tortures me for months. So get on with it."

I don't know the history between Phillip and Marcus besides the fact Marcus took Phillip's sons, but what I can say is Marcus doesn't seem like such a bad guy. It's truly a shame.

"NO FATHER, WE WON'T LET THEM KILL YOU!" The bicolored eye twin shouted as her, her twin and the older kids ran forward, leaving behind Eris' terrified younger brother.

"YOU HEARD THE YOUNG MASTERS, CHARGE MEN!" The captain ordered.

Damn this was the worst possible outcome. Not only do we have to slaughter everyone, that one girl is definitely dangerous. But maybe, I can use my power as a deterrent.

As they charged towards us, I took off the black long sleeve I had borrowed from Rudy before letting the aura from Sunshine radiate from my body. Causing me to grow to around 5'10. My eyes had a golden tint to them. The new change in appearance caused everyone to stop charging and look on in awe and fear.

"Understand this." I started as I drew my sword. "As a being that stands above even the gods, I have no time to play with weaklings. Surrender now, or I promise you, everything is gonna get a lot harder for all of us."

Everyone had stopped moving towards me. Well there was one exception. The bicolor eyed twin continued walking forward. I could see fear in her eyes, yet she still seemed determined.

"I will not let you kill my father. Nor will I let you take my family away. If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get. Everyone else stand back! I'll handle this." She announced before stopping a few feet in front of me right beside her father.

"Dad, I won't let you die. Go back to them." Marcus hesitantly nodded before taking some steps back.

This piqued my interest. She was definitely powerful, but how strong? Why had she not stepped forward beforehand? The pride within me was boiling. I was excited. The only person I know that could hang with me in a fight was my mother. So new opponents were always welcome.

"You're definitely bold to challenge someone as powerful as me. Tell me, what is your name?" I asked. To my surprise I received a smirk. It was the same as the one I had. She was excited too. Even if she was nervous, she was ready to put everything on the line and fight me.

"My name is Catherine Boreas Greyrat. I look forward to killing you."

As she finished her sentence, she blitzed me with insane speed, giving me a right hook to the face before following it up with a left handed uppercut. I was knocked into the air before I even knew what hit me. She finished her initial assault with a devastating downward kick that sent me crashing into the earth leaving a small crater.

I didn't see shit. I don't understand. The second she gave her name she was already punching me. It doesn't even look like she's trained a day in her life. Even her attacks didn't hurt much. How does she have this speed?

As I got back up I was attacked again this time by a sword. She sliced horizontally at my chest. I narrowly evaded. Though I still ended up getting a minor cut.

"LEI, SHE CAN TELEPORT. SHE JUST TELEPORTED BACK TO HER BROTHER AND GRABBED HIS BLADE!" Rudy informed me.

A smirk grew across my face. The smirk slowly turned into laughter. So this girl was as blessed as I thought. Her power is quite different from mine though, but if trained to use it correctly, just as deadly. Just looking at the way she tried to attack me I'd say she's a beginner in swordsmanship. Hell she probably never held a blade in her life. Though even without training she managed to cut me. Yup without a doubt, with enough training, I have no doubt she could enter even the league of the 7 great powers. The 7 strongest beings in the entire world.

"You are quite strong Catherine. Let's continue our little spar." I voiced my pleasure.

"Spar? You think this is a spar? Just how crazy are you? I'm trying to save my family."

With that she teleported towards me again with the blade directed at heart. As it approached my skin, it was stopped with my own blade.

"Your…ability is quite amazing. However, I already notice you have limits to it. Number 1, it seems like you can only teleport so close to a person, meaning that you couldn't teleport and pierce your sword directly into my chest. Otherwise I'd be dead by now. Number 2, your eyes focus on me when you appear in front of me and away from me when you appear away from me, meaning you can only teleport to a location you're looking at. Number 3, you can't teleport in rapid succession. If you could, you would have already done so." I finished my explanation and received a look of shock from the gifted girl.

"Y-You, how did you learn all of that from a few attacks."

"It's quite simple my dear, a sensei of mine in the past once said "You have to look underneath the underneath."

Her eyes went wide. Guess I was right. Reincarnation she is.

I dispelled my aura, causing me to shrink back to a little taller than my normal height, getting a questioning look from everyone around.

"Have you run out of power?" Catherine asked. I chuckled at her stupid question. "We barely even fought, how would I have run out of power? No, the answer is simple. There's no reason for us to fight. After all, you're the same as me."

She slowly nodded in understanding. "So will you leave?" she asked. Once again a stupid question. "No we're not leaving. Our mission will be carried out. That being said, I've taken an interest in you. It seems the good lord has bestowed a gift upon you as well. So I have a proposition. Return with us to our master. I promise I will do my best to prevent your father's execution. Do that and everyone gets off with no harm."

She blinked at me in confusion before walking over to her family and whispering with them.

"Mother let Mary go please." I pleaded, receiving a glare that said 'You better know what the hell you doing' before removing her sword from Mary's neck and sheathing it.

After the family had their touching moment I made the offer again. "So we have a deal?"

She nodded. "As long as everyone remains unharmed, we will follow you. I'm also quite interested in you."

I smirked. Guess I'm attracting all the ladies. Ladies killer to be.

"Good we can finally go back. I can't wait to see Sylphy and Eris." Rudy cheered.

I facepalmed before smiling. This was probably the best result possible. No one had to be killed, except for Mary's guards. This was a huge success. Not to mention, we got to meet another reincarnation. Now that just leads me to wonder. Could there be more? Could they be blessed like us? Could Rudy also be blessed with a skill and just not know it yet? I didn't know the answer to any of these questions, but I did know one thing. I was gonna have a blast figuring it out.

Thank you for reading this chapter. I really enjoyed writing this one and have tons of stuff planned. I'll definitely make sure it's as enjoyable as possible.

Random question: Who is your favorite anime character? Mine is probably Eren just because of the character development he went through. See you next time.
