A/N: I present my first ever attempt at writing. It is not canon compliant and will be AU since I will be manipulating the timeline as i wish. English is not my first language. Constructive criticism is welcomed but don't be rude. I am writing for fun and hope you enjoy as well.

I don't own Naruto and never will.

A/N: I think there is some confusion regarding why she asked for training. So Naruto is here to avoid the future her timeline had suffered and Orochimaru had played a major part in it. If you read the previous chapters name you will understand what was left unsaid. It was due to his study of reanimation jutsu and his apprentice Kabuto that the war destroyed so many. Also she wants to give Orochimaru a chance as he is now, (before he became a missing nin) because even Sasuke got a third chance (when he tried to kill her twice).

About her performing Hirashin (flying thunder god jutsu) when her chakra control is shot, I will explain that part in future, so look forward to it.

Lastly, regarding her life partner in her old timeline, that will remain a secret for some more time. I will eventually reveal him, but you are welcome to guess who she was paired up with.

If you have any other confusion, feel free to ask.

Without further ado, let's continue. Enjoy.

Chapter 10: Training disaster

"What did you just say?" asks Orochimaru squinting his eyes as if he couldn't believe what she had just said.

"As I said I will tell you everything slowly as time progresses." She deflected and internally gagged when she had to call him sensei. He still gives her the creeps and she still dislikes him for causing Jiji's death and taking Sasuke away from her but she doesn't hate him anymore when she saw how he was trying to help the Shinobi alliance in her war. And Her War it was because she will not allow it to become anyone else's.

He continued to stare at her thinking of everything she had said from the moment he had heard her in the forest. Her personality that he could glean from the way she talked, her expressive eyes, her easy smile, her chakra reserves, that speech impediment and it clicked in his mind (After all, he was a renowned genius) that she is definitely related to the Uzumaki. She herself admitted that she is related to Namikaze and something shifted in his mind at that moment and snapped shut on that thought, he felt his eyes widen and studied her features more closely. But that's impossible they are in their early twenties and looking at her age she should have been conceived when they were fourteen or fifteen years old. No, maybe she is their cousin or perhaps a step sibling to both if their parents had an affair somehow but both the theories seem too coincidental and ridiculous. I will have to get her blood as soon as possible and keep an eye on her just in case she really is a spy.

She averted her gaze and turned her face into a different direction so as to discourage him from studying her more closely. He will have to beat that habit out of her, because he is Orochimaru and he is never discouraged and always gets what he wants. He cannot believe that he may have The Uzumaki Adamantine Sealing Chain in his hands.

Her stomach growled, and he was forced away from his thoughts by that loud sound.

"When was the last time you ate child?" He tilts his head, studying her body to approximately guess her weight and found her to be on the leaner side but not too thin as he had expected from a child living alone in the forest. (The tailed-beasts chakra kept her healthy, as Kurama's did in her first childhood)

"I don't remember" She scratches her head and her cheeks redden a bit in embarrassment.

He narrows his eyes at her to decipher whether she was lying or telling the truth. He decided then to check her reflexes. He took out a ration bar from his pouch and threw it with such speed and precision that it would knock her out if she did not duck or dodge. He will leave her alone then and wait for her to come to-

He was impressed and satisfied as his belief of her being a prodigy was reasserted when she did not duck or dodge but rather snatched the bar out of the air itself. Her eyes got a questioning and a suspicious look in them as if she couldn't believe he would have knocked her out. (He was wrong; she did not even notice the speed. She was questioning his behavior of providing a ration bar because it seemed like he cares but she was also suspicious, if the said food had poison in it.)

"Eat it, and start with the Chakra control exercise of sticking a leaf to your head. Your training begins now. I will have no apprentice of mine step into the village premise with that level of control over their chakra." He shifted his hair on his right shoulder towards his back with his right hand in a haughty pose and stated in a stoic voice.

She narrowed her eyes at him and took slow bites of the ration bar as if checking each bite for poison. When she didn't feel anything in the first bite not that she could actually tell it was poisonous or not as all the poisons will get burned by their Chakra, but she tends to forget about that she ate the whole bar at once. She immediately felt better when she felt some real energy in her body instead of Chakra keeping her alive. She looked at Orochimaru then and saw him nodding towards the fallen leaves.

She collected some leaves and sat down in a meditative position to regulate her chakra. She took a deep breath and held a leaf, bringing it to her forehead. It immediately burned and turned to ash when she tried to stick it. She did It again with her Chakra reeled in, and the leaf fell and floated towards the ground. She looked at Orochimaru and found him smiling smugly at her as if he got something right (he was smiling because he found this interesting specimen of a human being first instead of Danzo or his Sensei) but his eyes held a contemplative sheen to them. Reading his emotions, she found herself surprised when she found that he was genuinely curious and wanted her to do better in Chakra control, for what reason she did not know yet but she will find out soon enough.

"Try sticking 5 leaves on both your feet, hands, elbows and forehead each, 35 leaves in total and get them to crawl across your body." He suggested after a few seconds. She was expecting him to leave as Jiraya always did after assigning her some task but she was surprised when he waited for her to collect the said number of leaves and watch over her training. Something in her burned at that gesture, but she shrugged it off with practiced ease.

She did as he told and found that this was way easier than controlling just one leaf. She was still masking her friends' chakra as she cannot let Orochimaru find out true extent of her reserves. She can see he was cataloguing everything in his genius mind. She was only able to stick them to her skin if she concentrated very hard, but her insides were burning with the pressure of hiding the tailed-beasts Chakra as well as utilizing her own simultaneously. After only 1 minute of letting the leaves stick, her skin turned red from blisters and chakra started leaking from her pores when she realized the dam she built to withhold their chakra had sustained a crack. The air became heavy, the forest turned silent, the animals ran away to their homes as if sensing a prey near them. She stood up immediately and reeled all the chakra in and willed it to become a tight ball in her gut.

Unbeknownst to everyone the red chakra thread had become thick and taut at that time.

Before she could look at Orochimaru to check his reaction she heard something or someone shouting at her as if to cover a large distance.

"-uto" she tilts her head in that direction as if to hear better.

"-on't pani-… –op usin- my chak-…" Her breath hitched when she recognized that voice.

"Ku, Kurama?" She whispered hoarsely. Immediately she entered into her mindscape to look for him and found the red chakra had grown from last night.

"Kuramaaaaaaaaaaaa" She screamed his name in a broken voice and fell on her knees as if to embrace his chakra but didn't dare to touch it before Kurama can take a conscious form.

She will never lose hope and will always believe in him. She will even wait for an eternity if her friend so wishes, because if she does not, then she will lose the right to call herself one Naruto Uzumaki.
