The sound of the wormhole of the ancient structure activating, it looked like water, causing it to splash open indicating that there was a stable wormhole. Soon after, a group of four people came out. All wearing green and having black weaponry in their hands except one of them had a staff in his hands.
When they exited the gate it closed behind them indicating their mission had started.
"Major Carter the UAV spotted anything yet?" Asked the leader of the group, his green uniform would soon become known throughout the world for their fierceness, but for now everybody didn't know that they were here for a while.
"Yes sir there is a settlement 5 miles away from the Gate, although no sign of Goa'uld forces. Probably has to do with the fact this world isn't on Goa'uld maps but is on Asguardian maps." The Major said.
"That makes our job easier then." The Leader known as Colonel O'Neill said.
"Not to my knowledge no. I have been on many worlds before but not this world. When you input the Stargate codes I didn't recognize the Address." The Jaffa known as Teal'c said.
"Alright how about we get moving then people. Let's try to reach the town by Noon, we were given 48 hours." The Colonel said, and as such they began their walk. They reached the village in about 3 hours, and since the sun was rising when they arrived it was early in the morning.
Although when they arrived at the village the locals were more worried than curious at the strangers.
"They seem scared of us." Daniel Jackson said the team's archaeologist.
"Can't blame them. If I lived in a village with very little contact with the outside world for my whole life and a bunch of men came in looking like they wore leaves I would be worried too." Jack said.
Carter decided to come up to one of the kids who was hiding to say hello "Hey kid, there's no need to be scared." Carter said while smiling to one of the kids the kid only hid deeper in the bush.
Teal'c was just standing around looking out for possible enemies. Jack was trying to talk to one of the locals, with Daniel doing the same.
"Hey! We're here to only talk!" Jack yelled, which only caused them to hide more.
Jackson had the same idea and decided to talk in Latin instead after noticing many of the locals seemed to speak in a dialect of latin "Venimus in pace, nihil solliciti sumus!" (We come in peace, no need to worry!) He said. As planned some of the locals came out.
"Credere possum tibi?" (Can I believe you?) Asked someone with teal hair who came out of nowhere. In response Jack, Carter, and Teal'c all brought their weapons up at the newcomer who in response brought her hand up.
"Put your weapons down, we don't need to scare them." Daniel said to the team they did what Daniel asked.
"Ita Potes. Pacifici sumus exploratores ex mundo qui dicitur Terra." (Yes you can. We are peaceful explorers from a world called Earth.) Daniel said while putting his weapon on the ground to show he has no intentions in fighting. She did the same by putting her hand down.
"Explorer abi alio mundo? Longe abis abe Alno colle ubi porta est, sed mille annis non aperitur." (Explorer from another world? You are far from Alnus hill where the gate is, which hasn't opened in a thousand years.) Said the tealed haired girl.
"Daniel, what are you two talking about?" Colonel Jackson.
"Porta? Tu recte vis stella porta? Non id longe." Daniel said, he then turned towards his comrades "The girl is talking about some "Gate" But she doesn't know what the Stargate is despite there being something called a Gate here." He said.
"Nescis quid Porta sit? Venisti ut explorates ab alio mundo corrigas." (You don't know what the Gate is? Yet you claim to be explorers from another world correct?)
"Ita." (Yes.) Daniel responded.
Capto hic commodo pagus magna donec." (Can you please wait here while I grab the village chief.) The Teal haired girl said.
"Now what?" Asked the Colonel.
"She's going to grab the village chief so just wait here."
"Okay." Was only Jack's response, and so the four of them just stood there in the center of the village. After a few minutes of waiting the Tealed haired girl came by with some more people. Two aging men, one looked like a wizard the other looked like your everyday person from the Medieval era.
"Sequi, placeat." (Follow us please.) Said the older man.
"They're asking us to follow them." Daniel translated, and as such SG 1 followed the three people. The locals were looking out their windows at the strange group. They soon arrived at a small humble house that was reminiscent of the medieval era.
"Placet sedem habere." Said the older person.
"He's asking us to have a seat." Daniel translated. Everybody did what they asked.
(Note: everything after this point will be in english. Don't worry they are still speaking in latin and as such Daniel will still have to translate.)
"I am Village Chief Coda, Chief of Coda Village." The village chief now known as Coda said.
"Nice to meet you." Colonel O'Neill said.
Then the Wizard Spoke "I am Grand Master Cato El Atlestan. Nice to meet you."
"I am Lelei La Lalena, an apprentice of Master Cato." Said the Tealed haired girl.
"I am Daniel Jackson, a scientist from a world called Earth."
"Colonel O'Neill, the leader of these people, I'm also from Earth."
"I am Major Samantha Carter, I am from Earth as well."
"Teal'c from the world of Chulak."
"Chulak, Earth?" Asked Lelei.
"Teal'c is someone known as a Jaffa, he is an alien. We are Humans and we picked him up. Nevermind its long story just so you know he is an alien." O'Neill said, Daniel as expected translated.
"How did you come to this world?" Asked the Village Chief.
"We came here as I explained to Lelei over here that we came through something known by our people as the Stargate. We can show you if you want. It's a long walk though a few hours." Daniel Said.
"Alright show us." Said the village chief.
"Please follow us then." Said Daniel, they then left the House and began their trek towards the gate.
On the way towards the gate Lelei was asking questions about many things, Daniel answered them all.
"Whats with the boxes in your hands." Asked the girl.
"This is something we call a gun, more specifically something that's called a P-90. It's designed for war." Daniel said.
"How does it work?"
"Uh it essentially uses a bunch of mini explosions to fire a metal stone at high speeds that sometimes breaks in the body other times just goes through the body. It's a deadly weapon better than our enemies weapons who use weapons similar to that of Teal'c." Daniel Explained.
"Enemies? You are at war?"
"Technically speaking, yes, against a parasitic race called the Goa'uld. You're lucky this world isn't on their Stellar maps."
"What do you mean by we're lucky we aren't on their maps?"
"The Goa'uld are a very expansionist race that enslave other races for their benefit and you wouldn't last a minute against them if they invaded. We would last a few months against them but we wouldn't be able to counter attack." Teal'c explained.
"So how powerful are they?"
"Powerful, but we've killed a few." O'Neill said.
"Oh." She said she then stopped asking questions for a while until they arrived at the Stargate.
"We're here. The Stargate." Jackson said.
The gate looked like it was made of stone.
"What's this with the Alien letters inscribed on it." Lelei asked.
"That is what we call a DHD. We use it to get to other worlds." Daniel Explained.
"And this is your so-called Stargate?" Lelei asked.
"That is the Stargate. We still have time after all we have two days, how about we head back to the village and just learn more about each other." Daniel said.
"O'Neill is fine if we head back to the village?" Daniel asked/
"Yep that's fine, I was planning on doing so anyways." Jackson said, and as such they went back to Coda village.
2 days later SG1 had to leave before they left they gave Lelei something.
"What's this?" Lelei asked Carter. It was a blocky object with a button on the front and a glass on the front.
"It's something we call an Iris code. If you're in trouble like a dragon threatening to burn down your village, input these codes on the DHD near the Stargate, and if you press this button it will tell us that it's you and not some Goa'uld coming to attack us. Our gate is protected by a shield. It will tell us to open it up so we can let you through so you don't hit it and die and you will be let through." Carter Explained, during the two days SG1 was at Coda Village Lelei learned English relatively fast which closed the language barrier between the Coda people and the SG1 members.
"Oh yeah, uh before we leave. Our commander decided to leave some parting gifts for the people of Coda." O'Neill said while handing her a chunky book with hundreds of papers.
"What's in it?" She asked.
"Well in the book its instructions on how to make many things that will help you greatly." He said, "Bye!" He said while jumping through the Stargate, which closed behind him.
Lelei watched the people of SG1 leave through the Stargate, she took a look at the DHD but decided against activating it. She was told what was out there and it was too dangerous according to them for her and her people without the proper advanced weaponry they have.
They then headed back home, little did she know the people of SG 1 will return in a year because of a little event that will force them to come known as the Ginza incident.
