A/N: Hello Readers! Took a while to post this one since I was very busy but I was finally able to make time for this story. Enjoy Chapter 4:)

I expected a kidnapping when a hand was put over my mouth while I was making my way to the dorms after a late-night study session in the library. I didn't notice the time until Madam Pince asked me to leave. It was way past the curfew. Anyway, kidnapping. Yes, a hand shot out of nowhere covering my mouth while I was in a dark hallway. Their other arm was preventing me from moving and I was about to knee him where the sun doesn't shine until I saw a familiar grin.

Sirius Black let me go once he realized that I was calm enough.

"Sirius…What in the world are you doing?" I frowned.

"Out for a bite. I missed dinner a while back so I figured I'd just grab a snack in the kitchen" He explained as if I asked him about the weather. It wasn't as if he did not just scare the living daylights out of me. Then again, I should be screaming at him. Telling him he was crazy for grabbing me like that, yet I wasn't.

"You're mad" I deadpanned.

He just laughed at me.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to join me. You're clearly from the library, I'm guessing you had one of your lonely study sessions in which you forget about everything else in the world. So you probably haven't had any dinner"

I gave him a blank stare.

"Come on Fin-"

"I don't have a choice, do I?" I said as I made my way in the direction of the kitchens.

I didn't look back but I could hear him follow after me until we were walking side by side.

"So how are you doing, Little Rosier?" Sirius asked before inhaling a large portion of his blueberry pancakes.

"Fine" I replied.

I wasn't really hungry so I just got warm milk and chewy chocolate chip cookies.

"I thought you haven't had dinner?"

"I'm alright. I won't be able to sleep if I eat too much anyway"

"…"

"…"

"Hey Fin…" Sirius started.

Here it comes. I knew this would happen.

"Are you a dementor?"

"Siriu-"

"Cause you take my breath away!" Sirius started laughing to himself.

I just boringly stared at him until he started choking on his pancakes. I almost smiled when he started coughing. I moved his glass so it was within his reach.

"Really? Not even when I choked?" He frowned after gulping down some water.

"No…Did you mean to choke?"

"Of course, not"

He was such a child. Sirius was annoying, loud, reckless, and overall a stupid Gryffindor…but sometimes… I wonder what its like to be him. I like to imagine a different life where I was free. Would I be a lot different than the way I was today? Sirius and I weren't that good of friends. I barely talk to him about anything even though he says a lot of things to me. Simple things like jokes, how his day went, or his favorite foods. I guess, somehow, he knew that I longed for the chance to act like a child for once. He understood that I, even if it's the smallest part of myself, was craving that freedom.

"Sirius?" I started.

"Yeah?" He was back to eating his pancakes, occasionally throwing a blueberry in the air and catching it with his mouth.

"Why do you always…talk to me?" Though my face was unchanging my tone was curious enough.

He just smiled at me like he knew something I did not.

"You forget, we're not that different Fin. I know what it's like to grow up in a family like yours. I also know that you're not like the usual Slytherin Pureblood"

"How so?" I probed. How different could I be from the Slytherins he despised and played pranks on?

"You don't have the same views"

I froze. I was well aware that he couldn't tell but I was still careful.

"I don't understand"

"Oh don't give me that! You don't want to be a death eater. You wonder what it's like on the other side, what it's like if you weren't given such a heavy responsibility of carrying a family name" He turned his seat to face me.

I looked back at him.

"Why are you always bothering me then?"

"Well…at first I only wanted to annoy or get some sort of reaction out of you. But then I just looked at you one day and I saw someone who had the same problems as I had. Then eventually I wanted to protect you, like you were my little sister!" His eyes twinkled when he said that.

I have to admit that I was touched by his words. I never thought he cared so much about me in that way. Sure I had Evan but with Sirius, it's like he's allowing me the freedom to let go. To be the kid that I hoped to be. I was only fifteen for crying out loud and my worries included marriage, my parent's seat in the Ministry, and the life of the people close to me.

"Okay as long as we're being honest, a lot of blokes had a crush on you in my Second year so I got curious to know what the new pretty girl was like… maybe it had something to do with that at the very first. Then I realised you were the girl who got me in trouble when I was 11" He added while scrunching his nose. Probably cringing at the thought of being interested in me and being threatened by a 10-year-old.

"Way to ruin the moment, older brother"

He laughed in reply.

"You couldn't blame those guys. None of them could get over your emerald green eyes and perfect chestnut hair. Not unlike how girls fawn over my hair, of course. Not to mention you were great at embarrassing those idiots who messed with you-"

"Sirius?"

"Hm?"

"Please don't make it weird"

He just shrugged and smiled jokingly.

I went back to eating my cookies.

"This conversation never happened, right?" I said before I ate the last of my cookies.

"Not a word, little sister" He grinned.

"Where have you been?" The voice greeted me as soon as I entered the common room.

"Salazar, do you have to be so creepy?" I stated lamely before deciding to answer his question,

"If you must know, I was studying in the library"

Evan was sitting on the couch. He wasn't even looking at me while we talked. He was busy playing cards with his friends. The whole gang was complete. There was Avery, Mulciber, Malfoy, Nott, Snape, Carrow, Lestrange, Regulus, and a few more special mentions that I didn't care about.

"You boys must work on your subtlety. You always meet here in the common room during late hours of the night and I doubt it's to play cards"

"We appreciate your worry love but I think it's not needed" Mulciber smirked.

"Besides, I doubt any Slytherin would be stupid enough to interrupt our game Fin" Malfoy smiled to himself.

"Care to join us, Little Rosier?" Asked Avery.

I was the only one who saw my brother tense. He knew that he was to be a part of this group. He was already willing. However, He always did tell me that he'd be more relaxed and focused on their goal as long as I stayed out of their way. I knew he would not let me be in the middle of this for as long as he can. Though, both of us knew that I would have to sooner or later.

"Sure sister, join us. It's not like half the blokes in here are hell-bent on marrying you" My brother paused from shuffling his cards.

"Oh wait…" He feigned surprise.

"… this is awkward" Evan stated with as much sarcasm he could muster. He was looking around the blokes in the room wearing a large mocking grin.

"Let's not discuss that brother," I chastised, playing along.

"…we are all friends here after all" A few scoffs and chuckles followed my statement.

"What's this meeting about anyway?" I asked as I found an empty seat beside Avery, who looked away from me with a cough. He was probably still thinking of what Evan said. Most of the ones present were now minding their own business once I settled down. The guys playing cards on the table included Evan, Lucius, Avery, Mulciber, and Nott.

"If you have to know, we're welcoming our newest recruits from this summer" Lucius stated gesturing to Snape and Regulus. They were playing chess beside the fireplace. Regulus smiled and nodded at me as a greeting and I returned the gesture. The nod at least.

"I thought you weren't supposed to… receive it until you've turned 17?" I asked turning back to Lucius.

Snape was almost of age as he was in his Sixth year, but Regulus was only 15. There must be some kind of mistake.

"They aren't, our fathers simply thought that it would be easier if we started welcoming them a bit earlier so they get used to our…customs and learn the ropes. Besides, whether he is of age or not, Regulus is the only heir of the most noble house of Black" Lucius explained.

I felt sorry for the boys. The moment they receive the mark, their fates will be sealed. Not to mention, they're probably going to be forced into torturing younger muggleborn students. I'm guessing that's what Lucius meant about learning the ropes. I was not aware nor did I want to know about their customs. I don't want any of that in my conscience. I knew it was selfish, but to protect my family and friends…I don't know any other feasible ways.

Evan cleared his throat.

"Serafina, you really should go, don't you have that thing with Professor Flitwick tomorrow?"

"Dear brother, using my real name does not make you sound more authoritative. It simply annoys me" I said. Sometimes it's funny how he acts to sound like he's the boss of me just because I was younger and a girl.

"You got in trouble with Flitwick?" Carrow was the one to ask.

I raised an eyebrow. I guess they weren't minding their own business.

"You're daft if you think that. I'd say she was meeting him for a career suggestion. I hear our dear Fin is excelling once more in another subject. Flitwick's probably going to show her off to some of his old students" Mulciber scoffed.

I saw that my brother, Lucius, and Nott wore proud smirks. The latter more subtle than the first two.

"As you are already talking like I'm not here, I will go to bed now. Have a good night" I said before making my way up the stairs.

Timeskip to a few weeks later

I knew it. From the moment I woke up with an earsplitting migraine, I just knew that this day was going to be cursed. Adeline, along with Bulstrode and Wilkes- the rest of my dormmates, definitely sensed my bad mood. Adeline immediately began to check for a fever. The other two girls simply gave me comforting smiles and offered to get me a potion. I thanked them and told them that I was alright when Adeline said I didn't have a temperature. I was thankful that even though we weren't that close, these girls were really kind. Besides, it was probably just a cold.

Adeline and I were already making our way to the great hall for breakfast. I was still squinting, feeling dizzy and sick.

"You really should've just gone to see Madame Pomfrey, Fin" Adeline rubbed my back.

"I know but I'm supposed to have a test in History of Magic in the first period. Maybe after classes…" I replied before releasing a shaky breath and taking a seat opposite to Narcissa.

"What happened to you?" She looked genuinely worried, but like everyone, I shrugged her off with an

"I'm fine"

I was about to finish eating my breakfast when I heard an annoying voice from behind me.

"Well, if it isn't the cold-hearted bitch. You've got a cold?" I already imagined the pug-faced brat in my head before I turned around.

"Parkinson, I wasn't expecting you to be the one to spread that nickname" I stated as I turned to face the girl. My voice was weaker than normal but I continued.

"Tell me, whatever did I do to you that earned me that title in your book?

"Nothing really... Just the fact that you seem to seek attention from every boy in our house then make youself all high by saying you're not interested. Why do you want all of them, Little Rosier? Do you enjoy being a heartbreaker?" She was challenging me, but I was too busy feeling tired. I can already hear the murmurs around the great hall. Right now, I was just thankful that the teachers were in a meeting this morning.

I winced and lightly massaged my forehead with two fingers.

"What's the matter, Fin? Feeling fatigued?" That's when it hit me. Narcissa got it the same time I did cause she was the one to reply.

"What the hell did you do, Daffodil!?" She growled.

"Just a little drop of Fatigue Infusion to her pumpkin juice last night? Or was it a dash?"

"You daft woman.Too much can cause multiple unknown side effects to her health!" It was Evan's voice this time.

She actually looked worried. What an idiot.

I couldn't talk at this point and I felt like fainting. My body was getting sicker by the moment. I felt someone move behind me. Before they were able to move me, however, I felt a wave of nausea. Now, I don't really know if I meant for it to happen. It was probably my subconscious? I was embarrassed of course but I'm just glad she got what was coming for her…and more if I had anything to do with it. I started vomiting my breakfast, mostly, on Daffodil Parkinson.

Before I knew it, my hand was holding into my seat as I was already kneeling on the floor while covering my mouth. My legs finally gave out below me. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder, while their other hand held my hair back. I could still hear Parkinson screaming and crying.

"One of those side effects happen to be nausea, Parkinson. You should've researched about it before attempting anything" I stated calmly before finally allowing myself to completely rely on the person beside me, which I now realized was Regulus Black.

He looked shocked at first, until Narcissa basically screamed at him to help bring me to the Hospital Wing. The last thing I heard before everything went black was Sirius' boisterous laughter from the Gryffindor Table and Regulus' heartbeat as he carried me.
