A/N: Hey! So it's finally conference season again, which means that this will be updated! Sadly, many references in the previous chapters are no longer relevant (The Pub and The Blue Room are no longer in existence) so these new updates will include relevant aspects of our campus. Thank you and wish me luck with my paper :(
Regina returned to her dorm room with her roommate, Tinkerbell after a long day of doing conference work in the new campus center. Tinkerbell opened the refrigerator door and pulled out their leftover pasta from earlier. She began to reheat her pasta in the microwave while Regina looked for forks for the two of them.
"It seems we're out of clean forks. Again" Regina said, rolling her eyes. She grabbed a pile of dirty utensils and went into their bathroom to begin washing them.
"Thanks 'Gina!" Tinkerbell called out to her roommate.
"No Problem! But next time, you're doing the dishes." Regina huffed as she scrubbed the forks clean with her apple-shaped sponge. She returned to the room and handed Tinkerbell one of the forks while putting the others back in the silverware tray. "While there is still soap on my sponge, I might as well wash some of the other dirty dishes." Regina grabbed the bowl containing the remnants of the Apple Pie she had made with Emma, and the sharp knife they used to cut the said pie.
"Oh you don't have to do that! Take a break and enjoy your pasta." Tinkerbell called out after her.
"I might as well wash this stuff now, it's not as if they are going to wash themselves" Regina responded through the bathroom. She attempted to clean the knife with her normal sponge, but she had waited too long to wash it so the apple pie residue continued to stick to its surface. She had to resort to using the scrubbing sponge in order to get everything off of it so she could properly wash it. The apple was not coming off so Regina had to scrub even harder. As she did so, her sponge slipped off of the knife and the blade sliced her pinky finger. Regina screamed out in pain.
"Uhh, everything okay in there?" Tinkerbell asked.
"NO!" Regina yelled.
"Is there a bug or something?" Tinkerbell questioned.
Regina ran out of the bathroom, holding her bloody finger. Blood dripped out onto the floor and she rushed through her desk to find a band-aid.
"Hey! I have band-aids please don't bleed all over all your stuff!" Tinkerbell grabbed a box of bandaids but then realized that gauze might be a better option for a cut this big. It then dawned on her that she was the one who had to dress Regina's wound as Regina's finger was bleeding and therefore making her hand non-functional. The bad thing about this was that Tinkerbell tended to faint at the sight of blood. She took two deep breaths, staring at the floor as Regina continued to cry and hyperventilate over her finger.
"Tinkerbell! Please! Gauze NOW!" Regina cried out.
"Oh, yes! The gauze! That I will put on your finger. Your bloody finger." Tinkerbell opened her first aid kit and pulled out a piece of gauze. She lightly placed the gauze onto Regina's finger, hoping that she wouldn't have to look at the gross finger any longer.
"Can you also put a band-aid around it? I do not think that this Gauze is going to stay on by itself!" Regina shouted in panic, trying not to move her throbbing finger.
"Oh, yeah, sure!" Tinkerbell took out a band-aid from the kit and wrapped it loosely around Regina's bloody finger.
"Thank you. I'm going to call my dad, I have no clue what to do in this scenario." Regina breathed out. She grabbed her phone off her desk and phoned her father. She told him everything that had happened and asked him for advice. While Regina was on the phone with her dad, Tinkerbell called Rumplestiltskin. She had to leave for her rehearsal soon and she knew that Rumple wouldn't mind taking Regina to urgent care. He was already finished with his conference work and he did not mind the sight of blood.
"Okay, thanks Daddy. I'll call you when I figure out if I need stitches or not!" Regina said through heavy tears. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. It was Rumplestiltskin.
"Thank you so much for coming! Gotta go1 Bye 'Gina!" Tinkerbell grabbed her bag and ran out of the room.
"You're gonna leave me here with HIM? TINK!" Regina called after her roommate but she had already left. Regina looked at Rumple, "Call the Uber. I'm going to grab my things."

The car ride over was awkward. Regina sobbed over her bloody finger and Rumple sat silently next to her, texting their friends to let them know what was going on. Once they arrived at urgent care, Regina grabbed the paperwork she needed to fill out and attempted to write in the necessary information. Her handwriting was horribly sloppy though, as she sliced the pinky on her dominant hand, making it hard to write.
"Umm can you please - " Regina started to ask for help but Rumple already knew what she was going to ask. He interrupted her,
"Of course." He grabbed the pen off the table and filled out the paper with the help of Regina. They then sat in the waiting room with Rumple making awkward small talk to try and distract her from the pain. They didn't have to wait for too long as the nurse opened the door and called them back. He led them into a small room in the back of the urgent care and motioned for Regina to sit on the small chair near the nurse's equipment.
"You know you have some blood on your face, right?" He asked.
Regina shot him an angry glare, "Yes. I am well aware of that fact. Some also happened to get on my pants. Now can we please check and see if this is infected?"
"Yeah, definitely." The nurse quickly took her blood pressure and temperature. She was running a small fever. He decided to ignore that fact as the bigger problem was the cut on her finger. After the quick check-up, the nurse led Rumplestiltskin and Regina to a small side room where a doctor would examine her cut. Regina sat on the bed in the room and tossed her jacket and purse into Rumple's hands. After the nurse left, the two of them waited in silence for what seemed like forever.
Rumple was the first to break the silence, "How did you manage to get a cut on your pinky finger anyway?"
Regina looked down at her injured finger, "I was… I was doing the dishes"
"You were doing the dishes?" He cackled, "and what happened, did you get into a fight with a plate?"
Regina rolled her eyes, "This isn't funny Rumple, I could be seriously injured!" Rumple looked at Regina's finger, then back up at Regina, "Ah yes, I'm sure they'll have to amputate your precious finger for an injury that appears to be about the size of a paper cut."
"It was a knife. A sharp knife." Regina replied, "I waited too long to wash it from when I baked that pie with Emma. The crust stuck to it and I was scrubbing so hard that the sponge slipped."
Rumple laughed, "You waited too long to wash the dishes? It seems that your girlfriend's habits are rubbing off on you."
"GIRLFRIEND? I don't have a-" Then it hit her, "Emma is not my girlfriend. Just a study partner, that's all."
"A study partner that you bake pies with?" Rumple loved teasing Regina, especially when he could pick up on something that she tried to keep private.
"Shut up. She was struggling to get her paper done, and I read somewhere that baking can increase your motivation. I was merely helping her with her work ethic." Regina reasoned. Rumple was absolutely not buying the excuse, however, "And I assume the kissing was part of the 'help' as well?"
Regina's eyes narrowed, "How did you know about that?"
"I didn't" Rumple smirked and Regina blushed instantly.
The doctor came in, interrupting their awkward conversation. "Well Ms. Mills, it looks like your finger will survive. Just keep it wrapped in gauze and keep this cast on it for at least three days." He clamped a small cast onto her finger and ushered them out the door.
Once they got outside, Rumple looked at Regina mockingly, "See! I knew you weren't going to die!"
Regina rolled her eyes, "Just call the fucking Uber."
