Sometimes you just have to go on a date with a chocolate bunny

It was 6:27am and Izuku was just getting back to his apartment from a long raid at a Yakuza hideout, and as much as he wanted to head straight to bed and sleep for a week, he opened his phone to check his hero emails. The work of the Number One hero never ended. But, in his sleep exhausted state, he accidentally checked his personal phone, seeing a stream of missed messages from his group chat.

[5:02am- Iida: GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!]

[5:02am - Jiro: how r u so loud even thru text]

[5:02am - Jiro: ?]

[5:05am - Mina: {wave emoji}]

[5:05am - Tsu: Morning. How is everyone doing? kero]

[5:06am - Mina: eijiro says hello 2]

[5:17am - Momo: Good. Just woke up.]

[5:19am - Momo: Oh, Tsu. How are you doing? Are you still at sea with Selki and Sirius?]

[5:20am - Mina: is everyone ready 4 tonight]

[5:20am - Uraraka: hellooo!]

[5:22am - Todoroki: Greetings.]

[5:22am - Todoroki: I'm going out for a run with Natsuo, I can't talk.]

[5:22 am - Tsu: Hi, Momo. yes, we're still going to be out for two more weeks]

[5:22am - Mina: does that mean u cant come 2nite?]

[5:22am - Mina: BOOOO!]

[5:23am - Tsu: Yes, unfortunately.]

[5:23am - Tsu: Sorry, everyone. I know we all wanted to get together.]

[5:23am - Iida: Don't worry about it, Asui! Your dedication to your duty as a hero is commendable!]

[5:23am - Jiro: {sweat drop emoji}]

[5:23am - Jiro: dude, it's not about her dedication]

[5:23am - Jiro: she's literally stuck in the middle of the ocean]

[5:23am - Jiro: god knows we'd all there if we could]

[ 5:24am - Jiro: *be]

[5:24am - Momo: I'm sad to hear that, Tsu. It won't be the same without you.]

[5:24am - Uraraka: chat with us later, Tsu?]

[5:24am - Tsu: Of course, kero]

[5:24am - Mina: so]

[5:24am - Mina: i need a count 4 2nite]

[5:24am - Mina: who's all coming?]

[5:24am - Iida: I WILL BE THERE!]

[5:24am - Jiro: seriously dude, u don't have to yell via text]

[5:25am - Jiro: i won't]

[5:25am - Momo: I will.]

[5:25am - Uraraka: Me ;) ]

[5:25am - Jiro: later, dudes. Unlike the rest of you nerds, I need my sleep]

[5:25am - Mina: Eijiro & i will b there]

[5:25am - Uraraka: night, jiro!]

[5:25am - Mina: i already reserved the table but i need 2 know whos all coming]

[5:25am - Mina: so me, Eijiro, Iiida, Momo & Uraraka?]

[5:25am - Mina: is that it?]

[5:25am - Mina: only 5 out of the 19 of us?]

[5:25am - Momo: It looks like it.]

[5:25am - Mina: shit, that's no fun!]

[5:25am - Iida: Is Todoroki not going to join us? Last week he said he would be available.]

[5:25am - Mina: yo, icy-hot]

[5:26am - Mina: u coming?]

[5:27am - Todoroki: Yes, sorry. I just stopped for a water break.]

[5:27am - Todoroki: I will be there.]

[5:27am - Todoroki: What time is it, again?]

[5:27am - Todoroki: And where?]

[5:27am - Mina: {sweat drop emoji} ]

[5:28am - Momo: I'll send you the info, Shoto.]

[5:28am - Todoroki: Thank you.]

[5:28am - Mina: so Todoroki is coming 2]

[5:28am - Mina: that makes 6]

[5:28am - Mina: better but still sucks]

[5:28am - Todoroki: Is Midoriya not joining us?]

[5:28am - Momo: Oh yes, I nearly forgot about Midoriya.]

[5:28am - Momo: Does anyone know if he's coming tonight?]

[5:28am - Momo: Uraraka?]

[5:29am - Mina: how is the #1 pro doing these days?]

[5:29am - Mina: too cool to hang with his old school friends? Lol]

[5:29am - Uraraka: I'll ask hum]

[5:29am - Uraraka: *him]

[5:30am - Uraraka: k, sent him a text]

[5:30am - Uraraka: we'll see what he says]

Izuku paused to check his texts. He had three from Uraraka asking if he was going to be there tonight, one from Iida asking him the same, and one from Katsuki telling him to fuck himself and stay out of 'his city'.

Yep, everything seemed normal.

He paled when he saw he had missed seventeen texts and nine calls from his mother from the last three days alone.

Maybe he should call her back later.

And check his personal phone more.

Opening the group chat again, Izuku plopped down on his bed, still in his hero costume.

[5:34am - Mina: anything yet?]

[5:36am - Uraraka: No. he might be sleeping]

[5:36am - Mina: ha! Izuku SLEEPING?]

[5:36am - Mina: i'll believe it when i see it]

[5:44am - Iida: I sent him a text as well. Hopefully he sees it.]

[5:56am - Mina: any word?]

[5:56am - Uraraka: no]

[5:56am - Mina: well we have 2 give the restaurant a number]

[5:56am - Mina: should we just add him & hope he comes?]

[5:56am - Mina: if he doesn't i dont mind paying 4 a empty seat]

[5:56am - Momo: You don't have to pay for it, Mina. I can take care of it. You're setting this all up, after all.]

[5:56am - Mina: dont worry bout me, richgirl, i can afford it lol]

[5:56am - Mina: its just 1 extra seat. its fine]

[5:56am - Momo: If you're sure.]

[5:57am - Mina: i'm sure]

[5:57am - Momo: Okay {thumbs-up emoji} ]

The messages slowed down for a bit, but it was mostly the others waking up and greeting everyone. Dropping his arms onto his bed, Izuku debated pretending to have not seen the chat or forgetting and going on patrol again tonight. It was not even 7am yet, and they weren't planning on getting together until 8pm, so that left him thirteen hours to sleep, eat, train, check in with his PR rep, call Mei about an adjustment to his gauntlets, and go on an easy patrol around the city to help ease the citizens' worries.

Groaning, Izuku realized that it was going to be a long day… Maybe he'd be able to get away with getting five hours of sleep? If he was lucky? Oh, who was he kidding, it would probably only be four, like the last few weeks.

BEEP BEEP

His phone buzzed in his hand. Bringing it to his face, he had to squint his eyes to fight the stinging pain.

[6:42am - Takahashi: Saw you on the morning news. Have you made a statement yet? I'm sending over the documents for the merch deal with Victory! Shoes, please sign and send them back right away.]

[6:42am - Takahashi: You have thirteen pending team-up requests, I've narrowed it down from thirty eight, please go through them asap.]

[6:42am - Takahashi: The Police Chief of Tokyo has requested an in-person meeting, I took the liberty of scheduling a video meeting with him for the 23rd at 4:15pm.

[6:42am - Takahashi: Remember, you have a meeting with the Hero Commission on the 23rd at 5:00pm, so the meeting with the Chief will have to be quick…]

The messages went on and on with everything he had to do the next few days. As much as his PR Manager, Takahashi, was brilliant at his job, he ran Izuku ragged. The man was like a well-oiled machine of relentless productivity, and while he was a godsend Izuku's first few years of being a pro, and especially after he became Number One, the man never let up.

BEEP BEEP

[6:43am - Takahashi: Where are you?]

[6:43am - Takahashi: Did you forget you have a TV appearance for Hero TV at 8am?]

[6:43am - Takahashi: You were supposed to be here for hair and makeup at 6:30. I'll try to stall, but I can only use the 'he's the Number One Hero' excuse so many times.]

BEEP BEEP

[6:43am - Mom: ARE YOU OKAY BABY?!]

[6:43am - Mom: YOU HAVEN'T REPLIED IN THREE DAYS!]

Cursing himself, he typed out a quick text.

[6:43am - Me: Sorry, mom, I'm fine, I was just really busy the last few days]

[6:43am - Mom: OH THANK GOODNESS!]

[6:43am - Me: Sorry, mom, but I have to go. I'm talking with Takahashi, I'm running late for a commercial. Then I have an interview at 10:30, then a conference call at 12:00]

[6:43am - Mom: Oh, that's okay, dear. I know you're really busy. But can you come visit this Sunday? I haven't seen you in weeks]

[6:43am - Me: I'll see what I can do, mom. I have a meeting with Nezu Sunday. I'll text you]

[6:44am - Mom: Okay, just try, okay?]

Sighing, Izuku put down his phone and forced himself to get up and change into a fresh hero costume. He only got one step before-

BEEP BEEP

"Seriously?"

Picking up his phone, Izuku was reminded that Takahashi was relentless.

[6:45am - Takahashi: I can see you've read my text. Please respond. What is your ETA?]

After doing a quick Google, Izuku found the address two cities away.

[6:45am - Me: Fifteen minutes? Need to change]

[6:46am - Takahashi: Don't forget to wear the new one for the sponsorship with Victory! Shoes.]

Looks like he wasn't going to be able to sleep until this afternoon, maybe this evening at the latest. If he was lucky, he'd get to take a quick power nap before heading out for patrol tonight-

BEEP BEEP

"Oh my god!" Izuku had to stop himself from snapping his phone like a twig, it wouldn't be the first time.

[6:46am - Uraraka: How r u doing Deku? Just saw you on TV, good job on the Yakuza bust. I should have expected you to be at work. Not that I'm complaining, but why didn't you ask for any help? We've helped you with them before.]

[6:46am - Uraraka: R u able to come tonight?]

Shit, he had forgotten after only a few minutes. It made him pause, did he want to go? Better question: did he have time to go? Knowing Mina and the others, they were planning to stay out half the night, if not all of it. So would he be able to take the night off? He knew Takahashi would disapprove, he'd probably be able to estimate how much his rating would go down off it alone.

Sighing, Izuku grabbed his phone to type out an apology when-

BEEP BEEP

[6:47am - Uraraka: Pls come, Deku. Iida and I have a big announcement, and it would mean a lot to us if you came. Plus, we haven't seen you in a month]

[6:47am - Me: I'll be there]

He typed out and sent his reply before he could stop himself. Shit, Takahashi would probably kill him, if he didn't kill him for being late today, again.

[6:48am - Me: Need to cancel my pre-recording for Japan Radio tonight]

[6:48am - Takahashi: Why?]

Izuku could practically sense the bloodlust through the screen.

[6:48am - Me: Something came up]

[6:48am - Takahashi: How can something 'come up'? I make your schedule]

[6:48am - Me: It's personal business]

[6:48am - Takahashi: ?]

Izuku sighed, the man was relentless.

[6:48am - Me: My friends from UA are getting together tonight, and they want me there.]

[6:48am - Me: Please?]

[6:48am - Takahashi: Hero friends? Which ones? I can have a photography and interview team hired within the hour. Where is it? Who will be there? Any comment on Ingenium and Uravity-]

Turning off his phone, Izuku hurried to get ready.

~line break~

The TV commercial went long, as Izuku knew it would.

He could barely take two steps in the building without being hounded by requests for autographs and pictures. It used to fill his heart with joy, but after nine years years of being a pro, including five years of being the Number One, Izuku was getting tired of all the attention. Not that he didn't like or appreciate it, of course, but he didn't do this for the fame or attention, he only became a hero to help people and to uphold the legacies of All Might and Endeavor, the two former Number One heroes that both had to retire early after hard lives of fighting crime.

Izuku didn't get back to his apartment until 4:57pm, absolutely exhausted and completely starving. After shoveling a quick energy bar into his gullet, he set his alarm for 7pm, and fell asleep before his head hit his mattress.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP-

Shutting his alarm off with a groan, Izuku shuffled to his fridge, gulped down a protein shake, before heading to his bathroom to shower and shave.

Once he was reasonably clean and smell-free, he searched his messy closet for appropriate civilian clothing. He couldn't even remember the last time he went out in civies, let alone in dress clothes.

Finding a pair of slacks that he had never worn and a green button up, he tried his best to tame his unruly hair before giving up. Maybe he should just cut it? He'd probably have to ask Takahashi first, as there probably was a poll on hair length he had to follow or something.

He checked his phone: 7:37. Crap, he was already running late. He had planned to drive, but it looked like he'd have to jump there. Well, at least he hadn't wasted the time trying to comb his hair.

~ page break~

He arrived at the restaurant twenty seven minutes late.

Don't look at him like that, there were two villain attacks on his way, what was he supposed to do, just ignore them? Izuku sent a silent thank you to Mei for the 'combat dress clothes' she insisted he'd let her make. He didn't see the point at the time, but he was glad now he let her convince him to let her make them. If she hadn't, he'd have to go back home to change, as he figured regular civilian clothes wouldn't stand up to withstanding a rocket launcher straight on.

It was an eventful commute to the restaurant, let's leave it at that.

Izuku landed outside the restaurant with all the subtlety of a cat, he had to thank Gran Torino for hammering stealth into his head all those years ago. Walking up to the door, Izuku did his best to ignore all the gawking civilians and reporters who swarmed around the restaurant like ants on honey.

"I'm here for a private party," Izuku told the aging man at the podium. "It should be under 'Ashido'."

The man's jaw dropped upon seeing the Number One hero. "I-it's y-you, Deku…"

Izuku raised a brow. "My table…?"

The man had the professionalism to snap out of his hero worship. "Oh, r-right, of course, sir. Please, follow me."

"...Thank you."

Izuku followed the man to the back of the restaurant and into a private room, where he found some of his best friends from UA, and from their empty table and glasses, it looked like they had waited for him.

It warmed his heart.

Uraraka was the first to notice his approach. "Deku!" She cried, floating out of her seat and impacting him like she was trying to imitate the rocket launcher from earlier. "You made it!"

"Izuku! So glad you were able to make it!" Iida rose from his seat and took his hand the second Uraraka let go.

"Hey, man," Kirishima smiled, bringing him in for a bro hug. "How ya been?"

"How's Mr. Number One doing?" Mina asked with a grin. "Glad you could fit us into your busy schedule."

Izuku sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, "Sorry, guys. I didn't mean to miss out on Tokoyami's birthday last month, I've just-"

"Been busy." They all chorused.

Deflating, Izuku said, "Sorry."

"It's fine, Izuku." Momo reassured him, taking her turn to give him her own hug. "You're really busy, we understand. Todoroki is Number Three and he's not nearly as busy as you."

"I just ignore my PR Rep." Todoroki said casually.

Izuku chuckled at the idea. "Tell me your secret, how in the world are you able to do that?"

"I blocked his number." Todoroki said, deadpan.

The group of old friends couldn't tell if he was joking or not.

Mina, thankfully, decided to start the conversation again. "Come on, Midori, don't just stand there like a stranger, sit down and let's order some drinks!"

Sitting down next to Uraraka and Iida, Izuku said, "No drinks for me, sorry-"

"Oh, don't tell me you're going to go on patrol after this?" Mina cut him off.

Izuku looked to the pink woman across from him. "Yeah, I was planning on it-"

"You can take one night off." She interrupted him again. "You're the Number One hero for crying out loud, if anyone has earned it, it's you."

"It's not about 'earning it'," he said. "The League is still out there, even with Shigaraki and All For One gone, I have to reassure the country that-"

"Midoriya," Momo was the one to cut him off this time. "Crime has gone down seven percent this year alone, and down thirty two percent since you became Number One… The country knows you're there, you don't need to patrol every single day."

"Yeah, man," Kirishima joined. "It's not like you have to be All Might-"

The table froze, Kirishima's eyes going wide as he realized the slip. "Oh, shit, man, I'm sorry-"

"It's fine." Izuku lied.

"Really, bro, I didn't mean to bring him up so soon after-"

"It's fine."

The table looked unconvinced, but they decided to say nothing. They all knew him good enough to know when he lied, and respected him enough to ignore it unless they needed to step in. He especially felt Iida's gaze on him, his old friend watching him closely.

"So, who's hungry? I've heard this place has some good sushi." Mina, thankfully, was able to ease the tension at the table.

"Sounds good to me." Izuku mumbled, not bothering to read the menu. "I've only eaten an energy bar all day. I'm starving."

Uraraka looked at him with a worried expression, obviously knowing from experience that he wasn't exaggerating.

His friends fell into easy conversation, while Izuku felt like an outsider. Did no one tell him Jiro had signed a record deal? Or did he forget? How was Asui's daughter two already? Wasn't she just born? And since were Todoroki and Momo officially a thing? From the look of the giant ring on Momo's finger, it hadn't been recent.

"Midoriya? Midoriya? Can you hear me, hello?"

Izuku snapped out of his thoughts, finding Uraraka watching him with a concerned expression. The whole table was watching him.

"Oh, sorry, Uraraka. What did you say?"

"I asked if you-"

BEEP BEEP

Izuku had his phone in his hand and open before he could blink.

[8:51pm - Takahashi: Why didn't you tell me you were at Sakura's Cuisine? I would have had cameras there already.]

How did this man know where he was already? Oh, yeah, paparazzi.

BEEP BEEP

[8:51pm - Takahashi: Just sent a crew. Make sure to be seen with your hero friends. As long as they're in the Top Twenty, of course]

[8:51pm - Takahashi: Who are you there with? My sources say Shoto, Ingenium and Alien Queen were spotted entering there shortly before 8pm. If you're meeting with them, make sure to have the press take a few photos with you and Shoto and Alien Queen, her new make-up line is rising in popularity-]

Izuku closed his phone, slipping it into his pocket, giving Uraraka an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Uraraka. What were you saying?"

"It's okay, Deku." She didn't look like it was okay. "I was wondering if you were seeing anyone?"

The whole table practically leaned in with anticipation.

Izuku had to stop himself from snorting. "No, no. I'm not. I've been too busy to date anyone. But what about you and Iida?" He looked between his two best friends who were sitting holding hands. "How are you two doing?"

"We're doing really well, Midoriya, thank you." Iida said with a smile, before facing Uraraka. "We should just tell them now."

Uraraka blushed. "We were going to wait until the end of the night-"

"What's the harm in telling them now, Ochako?"

"No, you're right." She nodded, before holding her hand out for the table to see. A diamond ring was on her finger, dazzling in the light. "We're engaged!"

"Oh, girl~!" Mina cheered, practically climbing over the table to hug her friend. "Congrats!"

"Yeah, you guys," Kirishima told the couple. "Congratulations."

"It's beautiful." Momo awwd. "You two are perfect for each other."

"Congratulations." Todoroki chimed in.

Izuku opened his mouth to offer this congratulations-

BEEP BEEP

-Before he lost concentration and had his phone in his hand before he knew it.

[8:56pm - Just saw video footage of Ingenium and Uravity entering Sakura's before you, can you comment on the validity of rumors of them being in a relationship?]

Izuku mumbled a curse under his breath, typing out a hasty text.

[8:56pm - Me: I have no comment]

[8:56pm - Takahashi: Come on, throw me a bone here. If we get out ahead of this, we can use the rumors to our advantage]

"Izuku?" Izuku typed on, not hearing his name being called.

[8:56pm - Me: I'm not going to use my friends like that]

"Izuku? Did you hear me?"

[8:56pm - Takahashi: We're not 'using' them, we'll be showing your support as the Number One hero. There aren't many hero couples left anymore. The public would love it]

A low growl escaped his lips as he read the text. "Asshole…"

"Excuse me?!" A voice sounded next to him, but Izuku didn't hear it.

[8:56pm - I don't care. I won't break their trust like-]

"DEKU!"

Izuku's eyes snapped up, his screen breaking from his grip and his other hand impacting the table with a thundering 'THUD'. "What happened?"

Six pairs of eyes were on him, wide with worry and, in certain cases, fear. Realizing he was standing at the table and had activated One for All, lightning shooting off his skin, he quickly deactivated his Quirk and sat down, avoiding the gazes of his friends.

Uraraka stood next to him, tears threatening to stream down her cheeks. "I-I…" She trailed off, her worried brown eyes searching his dull green ones. "Are you okay?"

She didn't scold him for paying more attention to his phone than to her and Iida. She didn't get angry. And she didn't hold it against him. Instead, she was worried for him.

It made his heart swell. What had he ever done to have friends like these?

"I… I'm sorry." He mumbled, turning in his seat and offering her a hug which she easily took. "I'm just… tired."

"It's okay, Deku." Her voice was muffled as she spoke into his shoulder.

After they split apart, he gave her and Iida a genuine smile. "Congratulations, you two. I can't think of anyone who deserves each other more."

"Thanks, Deku." Happy tears welled in Uraraka's eyes. "We'll let you all know when we have a date planned for the wedding, but, for now, we think we're going to wait for a little bit."

"Thank you, Midoriya." Iida added. "We're just happy you were able to make it."

It was only now that Izuku realized he had left a handprint in the table when he was startled out of his texting. He tried his best to hide it with his unread menu, but Mina, sharp as always, noticed.

"So, Midori," The pink woman began. "I'm not believing this whole bit that you aren't seeing anyone. A hunk like you, who's the Number One, no less, I don't understand how you can still be single."

Izuku blushed like a schoolgirl. "I-I I'm not lying, really. I'm not dating anyone right now, I'm too-"

"If you say you're 'too busy' one more time," Mina cut him off with a faux glare. "I'm going to melt you."

"I…" Izuku paused, thinking. "I just don't have the time. Besides, you remember what we were told at UA, dating a civilian is never easy, they just don't understand exactly what we do… and what it takes."

What he didn't say, however, was one of his last talks with All Might about why the old hero never married. In short, with the ever-present threat of All for One, he didn't want to put anyone in that sort of risk.

"Sounds to me like you're making an excuse." Todoroki said suddenly, sipping his drink.

"What?"

"Look at the rest of us," He instructed, gesturing to the six other people at the table. "We're all dating someone, and a lot from our class are too, or married already."

It made Izuku realize he was almost a seventh wheel at this point.

"Yeah, man." Kirishima joined in. "If you're worried about dating a civilian, first, I understand, but then you just have to date a hero." He said it was as simple as breathing air. "There's gotta be plenty of single heroines who'd be happy to date you."

Izuku frowned. "Or would they be happy to date the Number One hero?" He countered, making Kirishima falter.

"Well, what about girls from our class? Or class B?" Uraraka asked. "I know Kendo, Toru, and Pony are single, and I know for sure none of them would treat you like that."

Izuku shrugged. "They're not really my type."

"Which is?" Mina asked.

"Huh?"

"If I know what your 'type' is," She explained. "It'll be easier for me to help you find someone!" She cheered.

Izuku blanched. "T-that's not really necessary-"

"Don't worry, Midori," She cut him off. "It's the least I could do after you made this useless lug realize I liked him." She said, nudging Kirishima with her elbow. "I'll find a good girl for you and set up everything."

"Everything? I'm sorry, what are we talking about?"

"Your blind date!" She grinned, phone out and typing faster than light. "If you can't find someone, then I'll set you up with someone for you!"

Even as a twenty seven year old woman, Mina was still trying to play matchmaker with her friends.

"Wait, I'm not looking to date anyone right now, really-"

"Oh, cool, found someone who could be a good match." Mina announced as she browsed her contacts. Looking up to him, she asked. "How do you feel about scales?"

Izuku paled. "As a concept? Or-"

"On a woman."

"No thank you."

"Hmm…" Mina scrolled down her contacts. "Tentacles? Might make for some good fun in bed-"

"No." Izuku cut her off. "Just… no."

"Alright, party pooper. Hmm, what do you think about multiple body parts?"

"Which ones?" Kirishima asked without thinking. Mina smacked him on the arm.

"I would say it would have to depend." Izuku answered.

"Preferred age?"

"Around mine?"

"Limit?"

"Um, a few years either way?"

"Hmm." She scrolled further before topping suddenly, her eyes lighting up and her grin becoming absolutely malicious. "Oh-ho-ho~! Think I found the jackpot. There, sent her a text with my proposal. We'll see what she says."

"W-who is it?" Izuku couldn't help himself from asking, leaning forward to try to see her screen.

"Nuh-uh!" She pulled her phone away, grinning. "It's a secret, duh. That's why it's called a blind date."

Izuku deflated. "Is it someone I know?"

Mina thought for a second. "Yes, I would say, as you're both heroes and, as not only the Number One, but as you know like almost every single hero in Japan. But I don't think you know her very well. At least, you've probably worked together a few times over the years, but have probably never had a conversation outside of work."

Izuku tried to guess who it was, but that hadn't really narrowed it down at all.

"Is it at least someone nice?"

"Nice looking?'

"I mean kind. Is she kind?"

Mina tried her best to hold her smile. "Um… she's less of an ass than Bakugo?"

That left 99% of the population of the earth.

Izuku sighed. "Is it at least someone who I'd be happy to go on a date with?"

Mina gave him a genuine smile. "Don't worry, Midori. As much fun as it would be to set you up with the Trash Mistress-," Izuku winced. "-I'm still your friend, I want you to be happy. Hell, you don't even have to go on a second date with her, all I want is for you to take a night off."

"Same as she said." Kirishima gave a fist pump. "We're your friends, Midoriya. We just want to look out for you."

"Indeed." Iida said.

"I think it'll be fun!" Ochako cheered. "Just remember to be cool!"

Yeah, as if Izuku Midoriya had ever been described as 'cool' his entire life.

"It will do you good." Momo said in a motherly way. "When was the last time you had fun, anyway?"

"I think you should do it." Todoroki added. "At least agree to one date."

In a wave of courage and possibly stupidity, Izuku agreed. "Ok, I'll do it."

"Yay~!" Mina cheered, typing away on her phone, a massive grin on her face. "I'll send her a text and set everything up."

"Who'd you set him up with, anyway?" Kirishima asked, before leaning over her shoulder to glance at her phone. His eyes went wide. "Oh, shit! Did you really set him up with-"

"SHH!" She cut him off before he could ruin everything. "Keep it a surprise."

"Can you tell us?" Uraraka asked, curious.

Mina tapped her screen like a blur. "Sent you all her name. Just don't tell Midori."

The four heroes all opened their phones and their faces immediately dropped. Iida paled, while Uraraka started to float away, Momo said "Oh, my stars and garters", while Todoroki simply said, "Fuck."

Needless to say, it didn't fill Izuku with confidence.

To be continued? You decide. Let me know in a Review.

Author's Note

I have a very loose idea of where to take this story after this. In all honesty, I'm just using this short story to practice writing Izuku and Rumi, as I want to write a story with them in the future. It will be an AU, with a de-aged Rumi going to UA with Izuku and friends. Also, Izuku will have a unique Quirk and won't get One for All.

Let me know if that'd be something you'd be interested in. Remember to Follow, Favorite and Review if you want this story to continue.
