Welcome to the 2nd issue of 'The Elf Express' Well I hope you have enjoyed your first week here/back at Hogwarts. We here at 'The Elf Express' have had an eventual week on top of gathering information for you all.
But first of all most of you may have noticed something's about this newsletter that it is spelled so you can only have any form of communication about 'The Elf Express' to fellow students and family members no Hogwarts faculty or Ministry Workers with the exception if you have a parent or guardian that works in either place but only on your terms this is a student only newsletter after all.
We would also like to introduce our very own communications delivery box where you as a student can send us queries give or ask for information. These boxes will be hidden in a remote spot in each house common room we will also look into a topic from a fellow student identity hidden useless otherwise asked.
Now let's get on with it. Our first lot if information we have gather from various sources state that our new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor is naturally Mr Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody retired Auror from the Ministry for Magic. Our sources confirm that Mr Moody is a long term and close friend of our 'Greater Good' slogan Headmaster Dumbledore. Which with the upcoming Triwizard Tournament this year could become very helpful for our fellow 7th and some 6th years but we will get to that a bit later.
For those that pay attention to detail what do we really know of Mr Moody as I'm sure your own parents/guardians have their own opinion of him what say you? What do you know of the Hogwarts charter her rules and regulations have a set think, talk read the charter if need be then tell us what you think.
Coming back to paying attention to detail what have you noticed about your fellow students? We ourselves have notice something that could be quite alarming concerning one of our own, that seems to were a mask of his own. We are all guilty of talking about him some claim to actually know him or are close friends with him but di we really as we mentioned in our 1st issue of this newsletter we talked about abuse of fellow students what we would like you to do if you have suspicions ask yourselves doe they have viable Mark's on their person? Are they self conscious on their appearance? Afraid of human contact or even tense up when receiving personal contact? Do they have issues with eating or meal times? What sort of clothing do they wear? How do they act when with friends to compare to how they are on their own? Study their personality let you gut tell you what eyes that are too blinded to see.
Have you worked out who it is yet? Well if not hears a clue you as a whole student body and the British magical community treat him with admiration one day but condemn him the next. Think about your actions try see past the masks and glamours that we ourselves are guilty of wearing.
Our next focus in this weeks newsletter is none other than the Triwizard Tournament apart from what was told to us at the Welcoming Feast which really was the most basic information a 5 year old child could give 3 schools 3 challenges 1000 Galleons in prize money for the winner and eternal glory. The Headmaster makes it sounds easy doesn't it? But it isn't really it took most of our personal time and even some school time to gather this information so you as students that are 'of age' can truly make an informed decision. Does anyone right now without looking for the answer know who were the previous winners of this so called competition? Why did they stop this competition in the first place? Just what sort of tasks are involved? Who or what chooses each school champion? When we asked the adults around us none would either answer or told us we were to young to worry about it or that we didn't need to know. What does that say about the adults around us age should not matter when asking valuable questions though we are not 'of age' to compete we still have a right to know we are teenagers in a school are we not hear to learn? Yet they deny us this knowledge is it the fact that they dont know themselves or they dont want us to know this knowledge. But victory was ours in the end and until the very last hour that was upon us before we sent this out our answer all came about and this is were our fellow students who are or will be 'of age' can make their informed choices.
As the Headmaster said the Triwizard Tournament is a magical contest held between the three largest wizarding schools of Europe: Hogwarts Scholl of Witchcraft and Wizardy, Durmstrang Institute and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic each school being represented by one champion.
This follow up information is what they won't tell us. The selected champions compete in three tasks traditionally judged by the Headmasters/Headmistress of the competing schools, tasks that are designed to test not only our champion but our schools magical ability, intelligence and courage. Champions competed for the honour and glory of winning the Tournament, for the Triwizard Cup and monetary prize.
Now for a little bit of history for all those that have a little bit of Ravenclaw in us. The first Tournament was held sometime around the late 13th century. The Tournament was notorious for being extremely dangerous many of the champions died while competing and it was discontinued after 1792 due to the high death toll of not just the champions but spectators as well.
In the past the tasks have usually a 4 or 5 X class Creature, a rescue of hostages and a multiple challenge of testing you knowledge of spells and magical creatures and before some of you get up in arms that we have given clues to these tasks we got this information from our very own library if one know were to look.
Our last notice for this week something that the ministry is not willing to take notice of and bury their heads in the sand was the events from the Quidditch World Cup this summer was the return of the Death Eaters we give you warning please take care Voldemort aka Tom Riddle is attempting to return there have been signs in the past 3 years of him attempting to return to his full body. If you don't believe us go back to your memories of the past events hear at the school involving Harry Potter and some of his friends as he doesn't hide his conversations I the hallways. If you are unsure ask him or his friends what happened in in 1st and 2nd year here don't just listen to the rumours get your facts from the source.
