Author's Note: So, here is an Ultimately, Absolutely, Completely, Overdramatically I-N-S-A-N-E idea that…well, I think you can pretty much guess what inspired it, but…well, just see what you think.
And, as always, if you don't like it, don't read it.

Prologue: Into the Woods (Or…the Forest!)
"Albus? Albus! ALLLLLLBUUUUUUUUSSSSSS!"
He didn't know why, but as Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore heard the hysterical, if not stressed-out cries of his Deputy Headmistress calling after him, he suddenly had an image of a small, odd-looking, if not adorable creature, dressed in a red shirt and a hat with an A on the front of the shirt.
And it could sing too…was he going senile or just smiling at the funny thought?
He didn't know.
What he did know, however, was the fact that Minerva McGonagall, Head of Gryffindor House and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, was in a real state of panic, if not disbelief and alarm, as she ran through the door to Dumbledore's office, clutching what looked like a newly-sealed, ready-to-be-delivered envelope containing the latest acceptance letter to Hogwarts.
Putting on a warm, friendly air, Dumbledore welcomed her in, "Minerva! Whatever's the matter, my old friend? Surely you aren't going a little off the rails because of some random envelope, are you?"
"A random envelope?" shrieked Minerva, slamming the envelope in question down onto Dumbledore's table as she snapped furiously, "Look…look at it; tell me what you see, and then tell me it's…it's just a…a random letter, you…you ignorant…you senile…you unaware little…gah! I can't even find the right words, I'm so angry!"
"At what?" asked Dumbledore, taking the envelope in question.
When he saw what was written there – by the unseen hand of an enchanted quill passed to the school by Lady Ravenclaw herself many years ago, he didn't hesitate to add – Albus didn't know whether to let out a cry of alarmed disbelief all his own, or fall out of his throne in shock as he saw the text printed on the envelope's plain side.
So, instead, the old man steeled himself as best as he could before, looking up at a still-haggard, alarmed-looking Minerva, Albus said the first, and only, thing he could think of saying.
"Fetch Rubeus…we're going to need his help!"
"Not compared to what you're going to need if people hear about…about this!" demanded Minerva, though she did as her boss and old friend asked, even though she was still spitting venom and fiery embers as she spun around and retreated from Dumbledore's office.
This left the old man looking down at the envelope with a mixture of solemn emotion and disbelief as he tried to figure out how this was possible.
'What could have gone wrong?' wondered Albus, unable to tear his eyes away from what was written there.

Try as he might, Albus could not tear his eyes away from the words, least of all the fact that the quarry of this letter – the British Magical Nation's hero and vanquisher of Lord Voldemort – was, apparently, on Hogwarts' grounds, in the Forbidden Forest, no less.
As he tried to come up with an answer, Albus only found more questions waiting for him.
Right up to the moment that Rubeus Hagrid and Minerva returned not twenty minutes later, prompting Albus to show Hagrid the envelope.

Someways from the school grounds, a pair of emerald-green eyes that seemed to be flecked with a more-springtime-green lilt to them looked up suddenly before their owner smiled to himself at the sound of a distant, but still-audible, wailing cry that seemed to stir the Forest around him into life, not to mention both birds and beasts in the wilds.
"So…it's finally time…okay then; let's see what you have to say, Headmaster."
So, short, but sweet, I know, but, at the same time, I'm interested to see my readers' reactions: even so, WTF?
How in the name of madness and magic is Harry living in the Forbidden Forest?
His name's Harry, not Mowgli, right?

Next Chapter: Albus is still trying to figure things out, but if he thinks that being Headmaster means he can make the Forest give up its secrets, he's in for a nasty surprise, as are Hagrid and Minerva when they see exactly what has become of the boy from the doorstep;
