Robin: Link! Wait up!
Link: ...Need something, Robin?
Robin: I wanted to thank you for attending the war council at my request. As I said, I'm still confident that your input will be extremely helpful in advancing the army's battle strategy.
Link: ...It's no problem.
Robin: There is one thing I'd like to address with you, though...
Link: ...Hmm?
Robin: Despite sitting through the entire meeting, you... didn't actually say anything... My hope was that you'd offer up ideas or suggestions on how best to prepare for the upcoming battle.
Link: ...Ah... well... I didn't want to decline without giving it a try, at least. Truthfully, Robin... I really don't see myself being of any use in this way...
Robin: But... you're such a natural when it comes to combat, and you're 'Naga's chosen hero'! I figured you must have quite a history with this type of thing...
Link: ...I am well-versed in combat, but... I've almost no experience giving orders to even one ally, let alone an entire army... There was no one else for me to fall back on in Hyrule... I just... fought alone...
Robin: I see... That's a shame.
Link: I don't think I'll have anything to contribute, but... I can continue attending your meetings if you think it'd help...
Robin: No, it's fine. I don't want to waste your time... However, I do have another question for you.
Link: ...?
Robin: What about helping us plan our marching paths? You traveled a lot throughout your homeland, yes? Are you well-versed with maps, routes, and the like?
Link: ...Maps, huh?... Actually, I am. If you have trouble finding hidden chests... I think I can help with that.
Robin: ...Hidden chests? What do you mean?
Link: ...You know... treasure chests... The ones you find in caverns or dungeons sometimes...
Robin: I don't... think I've ever heard of anyone finding buried treasure out here in the wild... and I can't think of any... dungeons... that we'd come across either...
Link: ...Ah... It's probably a... uh... Hyrule thing... I guess...
Robin: ...Yeah...
Link: ...Well, in that case... Sorry, I... don't think I'd be able to help much with planning your routes either...
Robin: I guess I have no choice, then... Link, I have graciously decided to give you private lessons on everything I know about strategy!
Link: ...Are you sure that's... necessary?
Robin: Absolutely! You're the hero that Naga brought here from another world! I know you have untapped knowledge just waiting to be pried from that brain of yours! You say you have nothing to add to the discussion... but that just means you and I aren't on the same page yet. Once you understand how I operate, you'll be able to help me utilize your skills in the most effective way possible!
Link: A-All right... wouldn't hurt to try...

Robin: So, is there anyone that you think would pair well with you? My first choice would be someone who can back you up from long-range. An archer like Virion or a mage like Miriel, perhaps?
Link: ...I'd prefer to be more... isolated... when I fight...
Robin: Link, pairing up with another fighter that can cover for your weaknesses is the cornerstone of my strategy for this army. I realize that you've been able to hold your own out there, but I've seen the benefits that this partner-system has given us firsthand. It's lead to significantly fewer injuries among our soldiers, and, when they do suffer a wound, we're able to help them quicker since there's always someone nearby.
Link: I'm... sorry, I don't mean to doubt your expertise in this matter... I just feel that I can fight more... comfortably... if I don't have an ally next to me that I need to protect. It... It's going to make it difficult for me to focus, I think...
Robin: I'll be honest, if assigning you a partner will keep you from being so reckless in battle, then I will gladly accept a decline in your productivity. I mean, for goodness' sake, Link, you have consistently put yourself in excessive danger in nearly every fight since you've joined us!
Link: ... I don't think I'm that bad...
Robin: Despite what you think, whenever I search for you, I find you deep behind enemy lines taking on several attackers at once... You're going to get yourself killed overextending like that! It's not a question of 'if' but 'when'... And that's exactly why I'm so insistent about you partnering up with someone. It'll keep you from pushing too hard into the opposition, and you won't be so easily surrounded when they do get to you.
Link: ...I understand your concern, but... I have the perfect technique for situations like that.
Robin: And what would that be?
Link: ...The spin attack.
Robin: ...'The spin attack'?...
Link: Uh... Here, I'll... show you... I just need you to stand back a bit...
Robin: ...Um... Okay...
Link: ...HYAAAH!...
Robin: ...
Link: ...What do you... think?
Robin: ...What do I think? You're joking right?
Link: W-what do you mean?
Robin: I... suppose that could be used to attack a number of enemies that have gathered around you, but... it's also horribly telegraphed and leaves your back exposed in the process. I really don't see how a maneuver like that could manage as a viable option in real combat.
Link: ...Ah, well... I don't know, I... I've been using it my whole life and it always- Wait, t-this isn't important... Robin, as I said, I understand your concerns, but I would very much prefer to fight without a partner. To help... ease your worries... I promise to more mindful of my position. The last thing I want... is to get cornered by the enemy and have one of you get killed... trying to save me.
Robin: *sigh* Fine, I can't force you to listen, so do as you please, Link.
Link: ...Thank you. I apologize for being stubborn about this... but I think it's for the best.
Robin: We'll see.
Link: ...I'm heading to dinner. I'll see you.
Robin: ...Looks like the responsibility falls to me...

Link: Excuse me... Robin?
Robin: You can enter!
Link: ...Sorry to stop by your tent at this hour... I... have something I need to discuss with you, if you don't mind...
Robin: No, it's quite all right. I was expecting you to show up at some point.
Link: ...You were?
Robin: Yep! I'm confident that I know what you're here to talk about, as well.
Link: You know what I...? Then... you were staying close to me in the battle today... on purpose?
Robin: That's right! You refused to pair up with anyone. So, I decided that I will keep you out of trouble.
Link: I... I thought you were okay with me fighting away from everyone else...
Robin: Of course, I wasn't! I just knew that you weren't going to listen to me. My job is to lead us to victory on the battlefield, but I'm still going to do everything I can to keep all of my friends alive... and that includes you, Link.
Link: ...
Robin: You've been a part of the Shepherds since all this fighting began. Just because you're from a different world doesn't mean we don't care about you. Even if I didn't care about you, there are others here who obviously do. If you're in a tough spot, they'll do their best to help. I won't put them in danger, too, just to satisfy your desire to take on the entire world all by yourself.
Link: ... You won't stop chasing me around in battle... even if I ask you to ?
Robin: Nope! As this army's tactician, I want an ally by your side to protect you at every moment of every fight.
Link: ...Okay... If you think this is for the best... then I'll quit resisting.
Robin: Huh... You gave in so easily that I was caught off guard a little... Could it be that... you enjoy having me fight by your side?
Link: ...Heh... Your deductions are on point, as always... Yeah, I think I do prefer fighting this way. I don't have to spend so much energy when I have you there... and I can catch the enemies by surprise more often when they're focused on multiple threats. I'm... amazed at how effective it was, honestly...
Robin: I'm very glad to hear that!
Link: I feel like... a fool... for not listening to you...
Robin: Hey... don't beat yourself up over it. What matters is that you reconsidered and gave my plan a genuine shot... even if I had to force the plan into action...
Link: ...Heh, sorry...
Robin: So... we're partners now, right? You'll keep on teaming up with me?
Link: ...Definitely.
Robin: Great! And since we're committing to this, I think we should keep on having our little strategy discussions. Think about how efficient we'll be if we're regularly brainstorming up new ways to work better as a single unit!
Link: ...Sounds good, partner.

Robin: ...however, if I fall back to cast Thoron in this scenario, I think I'd be susceptible to getting cut off from you, due to the large amount of time it takes to cast it... I don't think it's worth the trouble, if you ask me.
Link: We could get away with it... I think. If I start to get overtaken, I have my spin attack to rely on.
Robin: Hah! Speaking of which, I finally got to see you use that in action the other day! How do you make such a silly looking technique so dangerous?
Link: Ah... I've just had a lot of time to... perfect it, I guess.
Robin: Well, whatever works! I certainly can't argue with the results.
Link: Would you be fine with ending our meeting here? I'm... getting a little hungry, actually.
Robin: Oh, sure!... Ah, w-wait, before you go... there is something I really need to ask you if you don't mind.
Link: ...What's up?
Robin: *sigh* ...It's been plaguing my thoughts lately. I've put off addressing this, out of fear I'm sure, but I need to get it off my chest already...
Link: ...
Robin: Will you be... going back to Hyrule? When the war ends, I mean.
Link: ...Yes, I intend to. It won't be... easy, of course. You and everyone else in this army... You've become friends that I'll remember for the rest of my life... but I have people there waiting for me that I need to see again.
Robin: I see. I expected that, but I needed to be certain.
Link: Are you... disappointed in me? For choosing to leave you all? I'm guessing this isn't... the answer that you wanted to hear...
Robin: I'd never be angry at you for that. You've already done this entire realm an incredible service by coming here and fighting for us. This may surprise you, but your answer has only brought me excitement, if anything.
Link: ...Excitement? How so?
Robin: To answer that... I need to ask another question. Would you let me go with you?... To Hyrule?
Link: ...T-To visit, you mean?
Robin: No... I want to live there... with you.
Link: ...Why? You would really leave this world behind... to live in a world that you've never seen? I... don't get it, Robin...
Robin: You know, you also willingly left your home world and came to a land you knew nothing about. To fight a war, at that.
Link: Y-Yeah, but... I wasn't very happy to come here, at the time. I was only motivated to because... I wanted to help.
Robin: Likewise, there's certainly a part of me that wants to stay. I'd miss all the friends I have here terribly. But on the other hand, I don't have much fondness for this world, outside of the people in it. That fateful day... when we were found by Chrom... I can't remember anything from my life before that. I don't have a 'home' to go back to when this is all over nor do I have strong ties to this world like most do, I imagine.
Link: ...You're sure that's reason enough to leave everyone here behind?
Robin: By itself? Definitely not, but, just as you wanted to help the people who lived in this world, there's something that I want more than anything else...
Link: ...And that's...?
Robin: You.
Link: ...
Robin: I can't speak on your behalf, obviously, but... I know I've never felt such a connection with another person like I have with you. It's... something that I can't put into words, no matter how hard I try... If you decided that you wanted to stay in this world, I'd be more than fine with that. It would probably be... preferable to me, even. However, I'd be beyond excited to see Hyrule. The place where you grew up, the people that you saved, and the wonders of your world... I want to see it all, if you'd have me.
Link: ...Wow, I... never thought you'd... feel the same way...
Robin: You are my partner, Link. After we spent all this time trying to become a better team, I think it's only natural that I'd want to be by your side.
Link: If that's truly how you feel... then I'd never deny you that. I'd love to have you come to Hyrule with me.
A/N:
Though I won't be writing S-supports for the male Awakening characters, I wrote one for Robin since they can be male or female. I didn't use any gender pronouns so that the reader can imagine Robin to be whatever gender they'd prefer for the story.
Also regarding S-Supports, the ones in Awakening usually end with a marriage proposal. I assume this is due to the future children units being involved. I find many of these proposals/interactions to feel rushed or out of character at times. There may be S-supports I write in the future where there is a proposal or marriage, but I'll doubt they'll be common. Most will end a little more non-committal, so feel free to use your imagination for what happens next.
Excluding the S-supports, my intention is to give equal love to all of Awakening's cast. Some character's may end up having lengthier supports if I get carried away on a certain day, so I may go back and add more to older chapters if I find them lacking.
