Link: ...You're... Miriel, right? I... noticed you've been watching me train. I don't mind or anything, but... I am curious what kind of notes you're taking...

Miriel: Greetings and Salutations, Link. I have multiple reasons for my note-taking. To put it succinctly, I find you to be a most fascinating research subject.

Link: ...Is that so?

Miriel: Indeed. You claim to hail from another realm... Your appearance is somewhat abnormal... The manner in which you engage a foe is also quite remarkable.

Link: ...What do you mean? Lots of fighters in this army use swords...

Miriel: That is correct, however, you also utilize an extensive number of secondary weapons to achieve victory in battle. Bow and arrow, a steel hammer, explosives, unorthodox magic, a boomerang, and a ranged harpoon-like implement among others. One like you, who has attained a substantial degree of efficacy with a large arsenal of armaments, is certainly rare.

Link: Hmm... yeah, I guess thats-

Miriel: It is within this quality of yours that a most puzzling mystery lies.

Link: ...What would that be?

Miriel: How is it that you carry so many items on your person at one time? Furthermore, why aren't these items visible when not in use? When supporting the weight of these objects, logic dictates that you should be unable to move about unencumbered. On the contrary, this is not the case... You maintain a great speed in combat that surpasses the majority of the Shepherds. It is as if you yourself are a traveling convoy that houses an unlimited amount of supplies.

Link: ...Huh... That's a... good question, honestly... I don't really know what to tell you... When I'm not using my bow, for example, I just... put it in my pocket...

Miriel: Inconceivable. I have already provided ample reason for why that is not a possibility.

Link: ...But it's the truth...

Miriel: What methodology or technique could one use to accomplish such a phenomenon? Sleight of hand immediately comes to mind... but that cannot explain where these objects end up... Perhaps an advanced form of rescue magic is employed... Traditionally, the spell requires a particular staff to use and, beyond this limitation, such magic is merely able to transport a target toward the user, not away from them...

Link: ...Anything else you want to talk about? Or... can I get back to my routine?

Miriel: Although, several old texts mention the existence of 'warp' magic that works in this opposite way... For one to master such an ability that they are able to transport items to a private location and back again in quick succession... Perhaps otherworldly sorcery is the most likely explanation...

Link: ...Miriel? You, uh... You with me?

Miriel: Link. It is of great import that I solve this query. For this, I require your cooperation.

Link: I... already told you... I'm not using magic or anything... but all right... What can I do to help?

Miriel: As I have failed to grasp the inner working of your distinguished thaumaturgy, I demand that you please remove your tunic and trousers. I will take them back to my study where I can perform extensive testing.

Link: ...Are you serious? Right here?

Miriel: Certainly.

Link: ...No. Not happening...

Miriel: I will resort to more direct methods if I must...

Link: ...You need to get away from me... I'm... I'm running away now...

Miriel: Link! What could be more pressing than solving this conundrum!?

B-Support

Miriel: Is there nothing I can proffer that will result in your consent?

Link: ...Miriel... You can ask me as many times as you'd like... I will never agree to this... Even if I have a spare change of clothes with me, I'm not letting you perform experiments on my underwear... That's... weird... and intrusive...

Miriel: That is... most regrettable.

Link: Look... if you're so interested in me and my world, why don't you research something else I have? I'm sure I've got... something that will pique your interest...

Miriel: I will give any offerings careful consideration as a subject of interest.

Link: Uh... Check out all this... stuff... Pretty interesting... right?

Miriel: These appear to be severed body parts from creatures that I am unable to identify.

Link: Y-Yeah... This one here is the horn of a moblin.

Miriel: I beg your pardon?

Link: A moblin is... They're like... big ugly bulldogs that stand on two feet. They use spears and clubs to attack... Pretty troublesome, to be honest...

Miriel: ...Curious...

Link: ...And... this is the eyeball of an octorok... They're creatures that live underwater, but they can surface and shoot rocks out of their mouths to attack.

Miriel: An aquatic life form, you say? Research on marine life is vastly underexplored in Ylisse...

Link: The most prized of my collection has to be the gold skulltula spirits...

Miriel: You profess this to be a spirit?

Link: W-Well... that's what some people call them anyway... Hyrule has these massive spiders... skulltulas... There's a rare golden species that leave a token behind when they die... and there's a market out there that will pay a pretty penny for these things...

Miriel: ...

Link: ...Uh... I-If you don't care for this kind of stuff... that's okay. I've got other-

Miriel: That is not the case, Link. In fact, I find these beast-like spoils to be rather enthralling. Despite possessing only minute insight into the appearance or behavior of these organisms, their irregularity draws my curiosity and compels me to run vigorous testing.

Link: Oh, Good. I was afraid I might be... boring you...

Miriel: That would be incorrect.

Link: ...Then, feel free to keep these. I've got plenty already.

Miriel: Link, I have a request for you, if you would be willing to consider it.

Link: ...Uh, sure...

Miriel: I desire a timetable that details your available hours for the next several weeks. I would like to have you present while I conduct my studies, as your personal anecdotes and information on these foreign entities will surely be invaluable. Would you accede to such an arrangement?

Link: T-The next several weeks!? ...No... I can't agree to that...

Miriel: I see. This is disheartening, but justifiable. Upon reflection, occupying the entirety of your leisurely time would be quite discommodious for you. However, all is not hopeless. A scholar of my merit can gather serviceable data, even if only through observation.

Link: Hold on, I can still help sometimes... If I'm free and in the mood, I'll come find you. I think it could be fun helping with this kind of stuff. It just... has to be within reason...

Miriel: ...Excellent.

A-Support

Miriel: ...This is a jest, correct?

Link: ...No... I'm being serious... What makes you think I'm lying?

Miriel: You are insisting that you were swallowed by a large marine mammal. Despite this, you were not digested. You traveled throughout this mammal's insides, while combatting other organisms that reside within the beast, and even found the princess of a completely different race that had also been trapped inside. After navigating a series of chambers and corridors comprised of this colossal mammal's innards, you vanquished a jellyfish-like creature in battle and the both of you were able to escape through the mammal's mouth unharmed.

Link: ...

Miriel: You truly claim this to be what transpired?

Link: ...Yeah... Pretty much...

Miriel: Based on what you have told me of its size, this... 'Lord Jabu-Jabu'... I hypothesize that it would rival the castles of Ylisse in sheer magnitude.

Link: ...Hmm... Y'know, you would think that... but he's definitely not that big. Big enough to eat me, sure, but I do wonder how his insides were so much larger than he looked on the outside...

Miriel: This narrative of yours would normally register as nothing more than a fantastical falsehood, yet you appear genuine...

Link: Heh... I guess it would be hard to put stock in a story like that, but I promise that I'm being honest.

Miriel: Curious... If I am to believe you, then this is an additional instance of a receptacle from Hyrule that is far more spacious on the inside than it would appear to be... Likewise, your trousers also possess this nonsensical attribute...

Link: ... *sigh* Miriel, you need to stop bringing this up.

Miriel: As you wish.

Link: ...So... Anything else you'd like to know about? I'll need to leave soon... but I can talk for a little while longer.

Miriel: ...

Link: ...You're really in some deep thought, huh?... Think of an experiment you wanna try?

Miriel: I do have an inquiry... and one that only you can answer. It is unrelated to my scientific endeavors, however. Rather, It is of... personal import.

Link: Oh... Well, that's okay. Ask whatever you'd like...

Miriel: I have observed you for a substantial amount of time, Link. You are reserved, your speech pattern is laconic, and you are magnanimous when it comes to fulfilling others needs and desires.

Link: ...You're saying I have no spine?...

Miriel: Indeed.

Link: ...Ah... I... I guess that's true...

Miriel: Understanding your personality traits evokes a question within me... Do you find my strong-willed pursuit of knowledge and, by extension, myself to be... irritating? I fear that you have agreed to assist me only out of good-will.

Link: ...I mean no offense by this, but... has this sort of thought ever stopped you before? I'm not saying you don't care about other people or anything... It just seemed like you didn't mind causing others a little discomfort if it meant discovering something new.

Miriel: In the past, that would be the case. My academic goals took precedent over the feelings of my allies. You, however, have become distinguished in this respect. Perhaps this is a result of our close proximity in recent times...

Link: ...Well... It makes me happy to hear that you value our friendship so much.

Miriel: Mmm... Friendship... You would declare me a friend, Link?

Link: ... Yeah... of course...

Miriel: Then what of my question? You do not think me an irksome colleague?

Link: No... not at all. I always enjoy my time with you. Telling stories of Hyrule, helping with your tests, learning new things... It's fun...

Miriel: ...This is a most joyous revelation.

S-Support

Link: So, any new topics I can help you research? You... haven't actually asked me for help much recently... I'm starting to worry you might have burnt yourself out...

Miriel: I apologize for not consulting you as of late. On the contrary, there is a line of intrigue that has dominated my thoughts and bemuses me.

Link: Do tell...

Miriel: I wish to learn more of you, Link.

Link: ...Oh... You wanna know about my destiny as a hero and all that? That sort of thing would difficult to measure in numbers and... quantify or whatever... but it is pretty interesting, I suppose...

Miriel: Negative. I believe that I must explain further... I do not wish to learn more of you so that I might compile data and create records of your tales. Nor am I particularly interested in the role you played as the hero of Hyrule. I simply wish to know more about you, as a singular being, seemingly, for my own satisfaction. What you find favorable, what you find unfavorable, your aspirations, and your worries, et cetera.

Link: ...That... doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd usually ask about...

Miriel: It is not, and that is precisely what bewilders me so. What is the causation for this change in what I seek? Why are you the focus of this change? Why has this desire pushed all others to the wayside? There are many queries about this situation that I fail to understand, but none can grasp my attention. The only subject that carries any weight in my mind is you, Link.

Link: ...I... might have an idea... but i-it's just an idea! So... try not get mad if I'm wrong...

Miriel: Please, edify me.

Link: ...Maybe... you're attracted to me...

Miriel: Similar to a magnetic pull? While I do have a significant inclination toward being in your company, I find your theory lacking in-

Link: N-No, not literally... I mean... romantically...

Miriel: ...I see... Romantically...

Link: Yeah... like, maybe you... find me good-looking or... you like my personality... stuff like that...

Miriel: Fascinating... When compared to other men that I am acquainted with, I do, in fact, find you to be the most desirable. Your facial features, physical build, calm disposition, and meritorious kindness are all qualities that I feel myself drawn to.

Link: I... wasn't planning on saying anything about this so soon, but... since it seems like you might feel the same... I can tell you that I'm attracted to you...

Miriel: Romantically or magnetically?

Link: ...R-Romantically...

Miriel: How can you confirm this with such a high degree of confidence?

Link: I think that your passion is inspiring... I'm always thinking about you... I look forward to the next time we can talk and learn about the world... It's just one of those things... You recognize it when you feel it, I guess...

Miriel: I am feeling uncharacteristically sheepish at this time... but I acknowledge that your confession has caused my heartbeat to quicken, and my mood has greatly improved. I am beginning to accept your hypothesis as the likely truth...

Link: ...We could always just try it out... See if we're... compatible? After all, the most effective way to prove that this is love... is to put it to the test, right?

Miriel: That would be an agreeable development... No... To say that would be an understatement. This development is most exhilarating... and very much desired...

Link: Heh, I can tell when something's got your brain turning... What are you thinking about?

Miriel: As we have officially formed a mutual, amorous relationship, it is now socially acceptable for me to be seen with your trousers, correct?

Link: ...Miriel...

A/N:

Like with Virion, I reused a lot of the vocab used in her supports. Hopefully she seems decently in character. I did what I could. *shrug*

I'm also hoping the S-supports aren't getting too stale already. It feels like I'm falling into similar patterns with them. Stuff like talking about whether they'll travel to Hyrule vs. staying in Ylisse and the two characters rattling off bullet point lists of the qualities they like about each other are things that I enjoy including in my ideal S-Support, but knowing that I'll be making 25 or so of them, I'm sure they'll get a bit repetitive. I'll try my best to keep them fresh, but this may be a problem I can't do much about.

I could have mentioned this in an earlier chapter, but this fic is also my first time writing romance of any kind. (which probably isn't surprising since I haven't written that much in general) So, hopefully these S-supports don't turn out too corny/rushed. I'm sticking to around 2.3k-2.5k words for these chapters, but creating a believable relationship in so few words can feel difficult at times.
