A/N
Just something I forgot to mention. I took the characters from after volume 1 but before volume 2.
Last time:
"You may call me Author or Kamil." They nodded at his answer. "Now without further ado, I present to you Red Trailer."
"Actually, just before we start I gotta do one more thing so I'll be right back." Author said before the sound of him leaving was heard over the speakers.
The students sat in awkward silence until Scarlet spoke up. "Now that he isn't here, do any of you actually believe him?"
Coco was the first to answer him. "Of course not, I mean think about it. Yesterday was the 31st of March."
"Don't you think this is a bit extreme for an April Fools prank? I mean he probably drugged us in our sleep and kidnapped us or something like that.." Velvet said looking around nervously.
"Let's be honest here, we've done worse." Yang said getting some agreement from the others, mostly team SSSN who was glaring at a sheepish Sun. "Yeah, yeah." "True that." "Yup."
"Speak for yourselves." Weiss said haughtily. She would never stoop so low to pull pranks like that.
Before any further argument could break out two people suddenly appeared out of thin air looking around confused. One of them looked like a male version of Weiss but younger, and the other one looked… kinda like Ozpin for some reason.
They didn't believe Kamil about watching the future before but now it seemed much more plausible. Kinda hard to doubt that after seeing people come out of nowhere.
Kamil's voice came over the speakers again. "Alright, these two are Oscar and Whitley, and they're going to watch the future with you so if you would be so kind, explain everything to them 'cause I'm lazy."
The four teams explained the situation to the two newcomers. Everyone in the room, especially the RBY of team RWBY cringed when they watched the Schnee siblings interact, you could tell they didn't exactly like each other very much.
Whitley was ticked off. First, he gets teleported? From his mansion to some sort of theater to watch the future. And now he finds out this future is about his sister, who he feels abandoned him, but not only that, he also has to be in the same room as her. What a great start to the day.
Oscar was confused as all hell. He's just a farmhand, what was he doing with a bunch of hunters and huntresses in training, who apparently had some sort of important future?
Without warning the screen started playing what they could only assume was the Red Trailer.
The beginning chords of "Red Like Roses"is heard as the black reveals the full moon amid falling snow and a floating red petal. Several more petals join the original, which passes over the words and dissolves them in red and black. A figure in a red hood and flowing cloak is seen under the moon and in a snowy landscape, the cape constantly producing dozens of wind-blown rose petals.
"Oh, yeah I remember this. This is what happened right before we came to Beacon." Ruby mused to herself though the others could still hear her.
An altar is seen near the edge of the cliff that the person is standing at, who turns and walks away to let the audience see the rose symbol on the marker and the words "Summer Rose - Thus Kindly I Scatter".
"Red like roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest"
Now Ruby started feeling a bit down, this was when she said goodbye to her mom before heading off to Beacon with her sister.
Weiss seeing her partner in such a depressing state, put her hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner while Blake did the same for Yang.
Whitley would never admit it, but he was jealous. His sisters never comforted him whenever their parents argued, and that hurt a lot more than it should have, in his opinion.
The red-hooded wanderer slowly walks through a snowy forest, where shadowy, beastly shapes quickly dart through,
"White is cold and always yearning burdened by a royal test."
"Is that line supposed to be about me?" Weiss was slightly insulted by the first part. She wasn't that cold… anymore. Though the second part she definitely agreed with.
"S-so is no one going to mention the Grimm running around?" Oscar asked. To him, this seemed like a horrible situation, but then again he isn't trained to fight Grimm like everyone else in the room, except for Whitley.
"It's just some Beowolves. Ruby can easily deal with them." Yang dismissed Oscar's worry though that didn't ease his nerves. She had complete faith in her sister, besides there wasn't that many Grimm that day anyway.
Ruby meanwhile was sweating nervously. She might have told Yang there were only about a dozen Beowolves because she didn't want her to worry. When in reality there was about sixty of them. (I counted all of the Grimm in the trailer and there is around 60 I believe.)
before coming to a clearing and looking around at the sight of around a dozen black-coated, red-eyed Beowolves circling their prey.
"Black the beasts descends from shadows."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Blake was sure that had something to do with her Faunus heritage. Luckily only her team and Sun knew about her being a Faunus.
Little did she know all of the other teams knew about that too, the only exceptions being Oscar and Whitley. Maybe trusting Weiss and Sun with secrets wasn't the best idea.
Three decide to dash forward and attack through jumping, but the figure disappears in a swish of rose petals, and the creatures crash to the ground and look up.
"Yellow beauty burns-"
"Well, they got that right. I am pretty beautiful." Yang's comment caused everyone else to roll their eyes. The two Schnee siblings scoffed simultaneously, looked at each other in surprise before turning their attention back to the screen and avoiding eye contact again.
"-Gold."
Outlined by the moon's light, her cape swirling around her body, is Ruby, who reaches behind her in slow-motion, pulls out a rifle, and fires a shot that blows a large part of a Beowolf's head out in a burst of blood-red smoke.
More Beowolves start to attack as Ruby lands. She leaps over the first beast and shoots it in the back, then, still in the air, blasts another one's side and gets into a position where she can fire at the third dead center. She rolls back and stands, unfolding Crescent Rose into its larger - and deadlier - scythe form.
"I still don't understand how you can hold your weapon up so easily." Jaune could barely lift it when he tried.
"It's not that heavy once you get used to it." It really wasn't, Ruby had no idea why everyone always made such a hassle out of it.
One of the braver Beowolves goes forward, but Ruby merely spins, hooks its body in the curve of her blade, smirks at the camera as the monster growls, and fires the sniper section at speeds that sever the creature's body in a shower of petals. Both halves land on the ground, continuing to bleed roses, and the rest of the pack charges.
"Did she just smirk at us?" Fox asked. How did he even know that? Wasn't he blind? His question went unanswered in favor of a more important one.
"Why are they changing into rose petals instead of disintegrating?" Pyrrha asked baffled. Something like that was completely unheard of, Grimm always just turned to dust after death.
"I honestly have no idea, they never did that prior to this." Ruby answered with a shrug. Maybe it was because of her semblance? Hell if she knew, she just didn't question it.
Ruby, rotating the weapon, unloads her spent bullet and drives the blade into the ground, firing from a single spot at several approaching monsters until one swipes at her feet, narrowly missing as she jumps up with Crescent Rose and blasts back, digging it into the ground again when she sees more creatures emerging from the woods.
A Beowolf almost gets her with its claws, but she twists out of the way, fires at the monster in front of her to make the weapon and wielder spin, and kicks at the one behind her. She twirls the scythe and cuts down Beowolves from both sides, dodging another attack to hook a beast in and blast out at an approaching creature to kill both.
"Okay, can I just say that was totally badass." Nora said and they all agreed.
"Oh, stop it you." Ruby said blushing slightly.
Ruby leaps over two, goes in to dismember and cut down one, and catches another's neck in her blade with her on the beast's back before pulling the trigger and beheading it while flying upwards.
Two Beowolves follow, but she shoots her way down and slices them up when she has to block from a wolf's swipe on the ground, which pushes her back and lets her see the large number of enemies left.
Yang narrowed her eyes at Ruby who chuckled sheepishly. "That's a lot more Beowolves than you told me there were."
Nodding, Ruby drops her previous cartridge, inserts another with a cross symbol, loads it in, and blasts off at a higher speed than ever before, coming at the dumbfounded Beowolves like a rocket when she converts the scythe to a sickle-shape and spins her way through the mass, cutting up and down, left and right, leaving bullets, rose petals, and blackened body parts flying into the air. She disembowels them quicker and quicker until the last one falls, she blasts into a jump, and lands in a pose with her scythe hanging behind her as bullets rain from the sky.
"Remind me to never get on her bad side." Neptune whispered to Sun while Ruby preened at the praise she got from the other students. Ending on the sharp side of Ruby's scythe would definitely not be a pleasant experience.
Ruby's form is darkened to a silhouette against the red moon, right before the picture spins and slides itself into the collection of other unseen girls where Ruby's silhouette is now visible.
"Looks like I'm next." Weiss just hoped it didn't show anything embarrassing.
