Hello, my fellow readers. The sixth chapter of The Mischievousness of the Shield Hero has been released. This actually took me longer to finish because I was busy working with a new chapter for MHA Reacts: MCU. I apologize for taking a while to upload. It might be like this in the future.
THE MISCHIEVOUSNESS OF THE SHIELD HERO
CHAPTER 6: THE NEW AVENGERS
The next day, the three of them traveled back to town. Loki went inside a herbal store again to sell the high quality medicine that he made last night while the two girls went exploring the town. He is worried that they may encounter some nasty goons that the princess would send. If they're kidnapped because of the princess, then he wouldn't hesitate to reveal the princess' true personality to the public before chopping her into pieces.
"Hero? Hero!" The shopkeeper called out to Loki, snapping him back to reality.
"Yes?" Loki responded.
"I was saying that the quality isn't bad. Are you currently studying medicine?" The shopkeepers asked curiously.
"Not really. I just made them last night. It took hours to perfect it." Loki answered, which slightly impressed the shopkeeper. "Anyway, which has more worth? The herbs or the potions? It should be the latter, right?"
"Yeah, potions have been the trend thanks to the recent Wave." The shopkeeper said while holding an herb. "I'll buy more potions."
"Alright." Loki stared at the utensils such as flasks, bottles, bowls, and more at the shelves that could be used for his potion making. "Also, do you have utensils that you wouldn't use anymore? They'll help with making potions."
"Sure. Hang on a sec." The shopkeeper answered.
After selling the herbs and earning some silver coins as payment, he went outside and saw Raphtalia playing with a ball that was made out of balloon skins. The ball oddly reminds him of basketball that humans used for one of the sports back on Earth. As he slowly walked towards Raphtalia who still didn't see her master, he saw Sigyn scolding two boys before they ran away with tears.
"What happened here?" Loki asked curiously while holding a bag.
"Master! I didn't see you here!" Raphtalia held the ball tightly while blushing from embarrassment.
Sigyn growled, "Those nasty little boys were ordering Raphy to hand over the ball because she's a demi-human. I just taught them some manners."
"You should have threatened them with killing if they ever do that again. I know I would have." Loki said, which spooked Raphtalia. "I was only kidding, Raphtalia. Don't take it literally."
The three of them continued to explore the town while Raphtalia was playing with her ball. There were some people glaring at the three of them, particularly the Shield Hero, but they instantly avoided eye contact with him as they feared he'll reveal their secrets or be cursed by him. Loki gave Sigyn some money to rent an apartment while he continues to explore.
In the apartment, Sigyn was currently cutting Raphtalia's hair to shorten it. After the haircut, they decided to rest first and conversed about the heroes that their master showed them last night.
"So, Raphtalia. Who was your favorite hero from Earth?" Sigyn asked curiously. "Me, it'll probably be Thor and Black Widow."
"Mhm… I don't know. The Shield Hero is still my favorite hero." Raphtalia couldn't choose because she favored Loki more than Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Sigyn giggled, "Yeah, but just choose. It doesn't hurt to have two favorite heroes."
"I guess…" Raphtalia is deciding on which heroes she idolized until she remembers the one wielding a circular object. "It'll be Captain America."
Sigyn snorted, "Of course it'll be him. He's literally a Shield Hero. I might even consider him to be the original one."
"Yeah." Raphtalia said, as her stomach was rumbling from hunger.
"Are you hungry?" Sigyn asked, as Raphtalia nodded in response. "Come on, let's have some lunch. I'm sure Loki will know where we will be."
Later, Sigyn and Raphtalia had lunch with Loki joining them a few minutes later. They noticed that there was some sweat on their master's forehead. They wondered if he was fighting monsters which was impossible because both of them didn't receive any XPs. They decided to ignore it and enjoy their meal.
Unbeknownst to them, Loki was assassinating some of Princess Malty's 'assassins' whom she hired to assassinate him which failed miserably. He then buried them before he joined lunch with his disciple. He was sweating because of all the running he did while concealing his presence to avoid being suspected by the townsfolk.
'That princess is relentless huh. I badly want to expose her right now, but that'll have to wait because I want to enjoy my second life without doing something peripheral.' Loki said mentally.
The next day, the trio went into the forest to hunt some more monsters, hopefully a different monster than balloons this time because Loki and Sigyn were getting sick of hunting them all the time. Loki slept peacefully last night because Raphtalia wasn't screaming from her nightmares anymore thanks to the story about his universe he told again last night.
Loki slices a balloon that was pouncing towards his face, "Let's move into the deeper forest or I might end up hallucinating balloons forever."
Suddenly, an oddly circular-shaped rabbit jumped off from the bushes which slightly surprised Loki because he had forgotten about animal monsters as well.
"Now that's a rabbit. Finally a different monster." Loki said before reading the monster's name. "Usapil. I heard your meat is quite delicious."
"Master, now's not the time for food!" Sigyn exclaimed while preparing her dagger.
"Hey, everything is a time for food. Never forget that." Loki corrected her disciple, much to Sigyn's confusion.
Meanwhile, Raphtalia was still shivering at the sight of a monster. The usapil instantly went for the raccoon demi-human due to being more defenseless. Loki instinctively pushed Raphtalia off the way and caught the usapil with his arm which was munching on it.
"I'll slay it, master." Sigyn said.
"No, Raphtalia will do it." Loki said before turning his attention to his other disciple. "Raphtalia, you need to stab it now."
Raphtalia slightly stepped back and whimpered while Sigyn was concerned for her. She understood that her master was trying to rid her fear of monsters because he could've killed it already with his dagger, but she felt it was too early for Raphtalia to kill an organic monster.
"Is there a problem, Raphtalia?" Loki said while holding the usapil so it couldn't escape from his grasp.
Raphtalia continued to whimper, "But the blood… will…"
"Just do it!" Loki ordered her. "If you don't, the seal will…!"
The slave seal on Raphtalia's chest was zapping her for disobeying her master. Sigyn rushed towards her immediately. She wanted to plead with her master to test Raphtalia another time, but she didn't because the Wave was coming soon. If Raphtalia doesn't get rid of her fear now, she would be a hindrance on the battlefield.
"Raphtalia, you must be brave. I know it may scare you, but you must know that you aren't alone anymore." Sigyn comforts Raphtalia.
"She's right, Raphtalia. I know about your past. I know how much you suffered, but you must embrace them to become stronger." Loki added, as Raphtalia stared at him and Sigyn while tears were flowing from her eyes.
Raphtalia groaned from the slave crest, "But I'm… I'm terrified."
"…everyone is afraid, Raphtalia. I'm afraid. I'm afraid to be lonely again like you are." Loki said in a comforting tone. "But now that I'm with you both, I'm not afraid anymore. You should do the same."
"He's right, Raphtalia. You mustn't be afraid anymore. We're here for you… forever." Sigyn said.
Raphtalia continues to cry while the slave crest was harming her, but she simply ignored it after hearing such emotional words from her big sister and master. She has never heard such words anymore ever since her parents died. She realized that these two people were her family. She wasn't alone anymore. She shouldn't be afraid anymore. She has them and them alone.
"Raphtalia, you can do this. You do it for your family. I need an Avenger." Loki said, as both of his disciples stared at him. "You may have been unable to save your family, but you can avenge them by fighting in the Waves. You must become an Avenger."
*Playing 'The Avengers Theme' by Alan Silvestri*
After remembering the heroic actions The Avengers did, Raphtalia has forgotten fear for a moment. She finally understood her purpose of being a companion with the Shield Hero. It was her destiny to become a hero like The Avengers. She needed to save people from the monsters to prevent them from having a traumatic experience like her while avenging those that had already fallen, including her own parents.
After grabbing the knife with determination, the slave crest stopped harming her. Loki grabbed the usapil from his arm and placed it in front of him in order for his disciple to stab it. Raphtalia stabbed the rabbit monster without any hesitation, as blood splattered across her face and a bit on her master's. She went from Level 4 to Level 5 after killing the monster.
"Master, I'll fight with you! I'll avenge everyone who has fallen!" Raphtalia declared, which made Loki and Sigyn smile.
"Then welcome to the team, Raphtalia." Loki pats her head as a congratulations.
"Does that mean we're basically The Avengers of this world?" Sigyn asked. "We're not the 'The Shield Hero Party' or 'The Loki Party'?"
"I may still be narcissistic, but I'm not naming ourselves that." Loki stared at the bright sky. "In my world, I formed the Avengers unintentionally because of my personal agenda. Now, I'm forming it intentionally as part of my redemption. So yes, we're the Avengers of this world. We save this pathetic realm from the Waves and avenge the fallen."
"You have come a full circle huh, master, though it's uncalled for calling my world 'pathetic'." Sigyn said before turning her attention to Raphtalia. "And you did such a good job being brave, Raphtalia."
Raphtalia blushed from embarrassment, "T-Thank you."
Loki sniffed the blood scent from himself and Raphtalia, "I have our next destination, but we need to go back first. Both of us are covered in usapil blood."
"And we need to get Raphtalia a new weapon. It's broken." Sigyn said.
"Right." Loki said before conjuring his dagger. 'I must be careful from breaking my daggers. I can't use any weapons in this world because of this damn contract.
As the three of them went back to the town, Loki couldn't believe he announced to his disciples that they're the Avengers in this world. He thought that he must've gone cuckoo of naming his party after his enemies though he doesn't mind it that much because he essentially formed the superhero team, so he has the right to use it for his party.
After Loki and Raphtalia took a bath which Sigyn helped with, the three of them headed towards Erhard's shop while Raphtalia was playing with the balloon ball with Sigyn. Raphtalia doesn't have her shy and cowardly self anymore compared to her personality earlier. It's safe to say that she changed within the span of hours thanks to Loki and Sigyn's emotional words.
Loki dropped a pouch of coins on the counter, "I need a new weapon for Raphtalia, Mr. Erhard."
"It seems that it's time for her to try a sword then." Erhard said before walking into the box of swords. "It's good to see you again, Sigyn. You haven't entered my shop ever since you caused a mess here when you were 8."
Sigyn blushed from the embarrassing memory, "Please don't remind me, Mr. Erhard…"
"I didn't think you're a troublemaker. I'm honestly quite impressed." Loki complimented his disciple.
"S-Shut up, master." Sigyn said while covering her embarrassing blushing cheeks.
Erhard grabbed a shorter sword from the box, "A short one will do for now. This is an iron short sword. Is this fine?"
"If it's effective against monsters then it's fine." Loki answered until something popped into his mind. "Hey, Erhard. Are there any towns or villages we can reach with our current equipment?"
"Let's see." Erhard took out a map from the drawer while Raphtalia was swinging the sword carefully with Sigyn watching her. "Riyute Village is a good place with your current equipment."
"All right, thanks." Loki said before the three of them departed Erhard's store.
Riyute Village
After arriving in the village, Loki was selling an usapil skin to the merchant while Raphtalia and Sigyn were waiting in front of the village entrance. Sigyn was carrying a medium-sized bag because Raphtalia was too small for her to carry it.
"How much for the skin?" Loki asked the merchant while sitting on the ground.
"Mmm… about two silvers." The merchant answered.
"I see." Loki realized that he needed to earn more money even though he still has a couple of coins left in his first pouch. "Is there any way to earn some money faster perhaps?"
"If you can find and sell some of the ores in that mine, then you might earn some but..." The merchant answered, as Loki noticed that he was troubled by something.
"Is there something wrong?" Loki asked.
"After the first Wave, some dangerous monsters took residence there. This village is practically going downhill because of them." The merchant answered. "Nobody considers going near that place anymore."
"I understand now." Loki understood the current situation as he stared at Sigyn and Raphtalia who were eager to save this villain from a possible downfall.
The merchant groaned, "Seriously, where are those Heroes that were summoned?"
Loki scoffed, "Either they're playing or sleeping with women… or men. Those heroes aren't as reliable as you think."
"I guess. It seems this world is indeed doom." The merchant said.
"I don't think so, because the Avengers will save it!" Sigyn corrected the merchant excitedly, which slightly surprised Loki and Raphtalia.
"Avengers?"
"It's nothing. Ignore what this lady said." Loki answered while glaring at Sigyn to keep quiet about the name though it's understandable why she's excited.
The three of them went to the shed that is near to the cave. Sigyn was swinging her dagger left and right while Loki absorbed the whetstone that Erhard gave him earlier into his shield which unlocked the Sharpening Shield which gave him an ore appraisal and an equip effect.
Loki then absorbed a pickaxe and a rope that was laying around the shed. He unlocked a Pickaxe Shield, which boosted his mining skill, and Rope Shield, which gave him an equip bonus called the 'Air Strike Shield'. It also has the effect of turning into a rope as a utility which is both useful and useless.
"Let's test this out." Loki activated his shield which turned into a rope shield. "Rope Shield. This new skill consumes 'SP' whatever that means."
"Oooh~ I wonder what this shield does, master." Sigyn wondered excitedly, as Raphtalia agreed by nodding in response.
"Let's find out." Loki activates the skill while in his fighting stance. "Air Strike Shield!"
A giant green glowing shield appeared in front of him. It had a design of his goat horns in the middle with wings. Sigyn and Raphtalia were impressed with the new skill while Loki was a bit surprised to see the goat horns in the glowing shield. [1]
"So that's what it does." Loki mumbled.
"You okay, master?" Sigyn and Raphtalia called out to Loki, as the green glowing shield disappeared soon after.
"I'm fine. Let's get mining and fight some monsters if there are any." Loki said.
As they entered the cave, Loki was lighting the cave using a flying, condensed green orb of his Energy Blast which was floating in his hand while Sigyn used a torch with Raphtalia following behind her. She was staying too close with Sigyn as she still has slight fear of monsters, especially unexpected ones that would attack anyone without them noticing.
"Stay close. I wouldn't want my disciples to be munched by dangerous monsters here." Loki ordered both of them. "When things go south, we're retreating right away. Understand?"
"Yes, master." Sigyn and Raphtalia answered.
Raphtalia noticed a footprint on the ground, "Master, look at that."
Loki turned his head around and saw the footprint, "If I guess correctly, it's a footprint of a dog. I would've guessed it's a Two-Headed Black Dog if the footprints weren't so small."
"I would've guessed too, but it may be a cub monster?" Sigyn suggested.
"If it was, it would've already died because it doesn't have its mother." Loki answered before turning his attention to Raphtalia. "Are you alright, Raphtalia?"
"H-Huh, I'm fine…" Raphtalia answered 'confidently'.
Loki knew that the Two-Headed Black Dog (or technically, three) was the monster that killed Raphtalia's parents after seeing her memories back in the slave trader's 'shop'. He didn't ask his disciple about the monster, otherwise, she would revert back to her shy and whimpering self. He'll have to converse with her about it after mining some rare and expensive ores hopefully. A few minutes later, they found the huge beautiful area of the cave where it's filled with ores.
"This is it." Loki said, as he took out a pickaxe. "I'll handle this. Why don't you two play for a while, though I advise you to be wary of your surroundings."
"Okay, master." Sigyn said, as both her and Raphtalia played with the ball.
Loki activated the Pickaxe Shield before taking out a pickaxe. It was fairly easy mining the ore thanks to the effects of the Pickaxe Shield though Loki claimed that his strength is clearly enough considering his real biology is a Frost Giant. He then picked up the broken ores from the ground with a smirk.
"We could earn some money with this." Loki mumbled, as the ores disappeared from his hand before turning his attention to Raphtalia and Sigyn. "All right, my disciples. It's time to head o-"
"Master! Look behind you!" Sigyn pointed out at the monster.
"Huh?" Loki looked back and saw the Two-Headed Black Dog emerging from the darkness. "Oh crap."
Raphtalia released a shriek upon seeing the monster. Her mind was filled with the monster she witnessed the day her parents died. She doesn't know if it's the same monster, but she is terrified and activates her fear factor once again. Loki was frustrated that a similar the monster would actually be in this cave, as he gave a signal to Sigyn to save Raphtalia from being eaten. Sigyn grabbed Raphtalia in time before the two-headed dogs could munch on her, but they fell on the river below.
"Raphtalia! Sigyn!" Loki called out, as the monster slowly stared at him while growling. "You're one ugly bastard, aren't you?"
The Two-Headed Demon Dogs pounced at Loki, but they went through him. It was nothing more than a mere illusion. The real Loki was reeling both Sigyn and Raphtalia from the water. The monster stared at him once again before running towards him.
"Can't you see I'm busy, boy!?" Loki exclaimed, as he cast numerous illusions which surrounded the monster much to its confusion. "That should keep you in hold… I hope." [2]
After reeling them back to the surface with his Rope Shield, Raphtalia was shaking fearfully due to the trauma. Loki knew that her fear wouldn't remove from her suddenly, but he was annoyed that her panic attack had to happen now out of all places.
"Raphtalia, are you alright?" Loki asked worriedly.
"She's fine. She's just…" Sigyn answered, as Raphtalia grabbed her arm tightly.
"The dog monster… everyone in my village… mom and dad…" Raphtalia whimpered while her eyes were closed.
Loki sighed, "I know about it. I slipped it out earlier. I know everything about your village."
"Y-You do…?" Raphtalia was surprised that her master knew about her village.
"Since when did you, master…?" Sigyn asked
Suddenly, the dog monster growled at them. It simply ignored the illusions. Loki created more illusions, but with Raphtalia and Sigyn, but it ignored them as well. He guessed that it's using its nose to sniff the real one and ignore its sight. Plus, he was currently comforting Raphtalia and Sigyn so that's a dead giveaway already that he's the real one.
"There's no time for me to explain. Right now, you're going to kill it right here, right now, Raphtalia." Loki said calmly.
"H-Huh…?" Raphtalia was too traumatized to kill the monster as she stared at it.
"Remember what I told you about being an Avenger? This is your chance. It may not be the same monster that killed your family, but it doesn't change the fact it also killed others." Loki explained. "I need an Avenger here right now. You need to be an Avenger right now in order to repel the Waves of Catastrophe and prevent the same tragedy inflicted to you. I know you're thinking the same thing as well, Raphtalia."
After hearing her master's words, Raphtalia slightly gained her composure and stood back up. Loki could easily eliminate the monster despite being a few levels higher than him, but this will be Raphtalia's final test to become a true adventurer… no, an Avenger. Sigyn understood her master's decision, but she can't help but worry about her 'little sister'.
As the two-headed monster pounced on the three of them, Loki ran towards it and blocked its jaws of death with his tiny shield, but he was bitten in the arm as a result which he utterly miscalculated.
"Master, I'll help…!" Sigyn drew out her dagger, but she was ordered by her master.
Loki simply groaned from the pain, "No, this is Raphtalia's battle right now. Do it now, Raphtalia. Stab it with your sword while I'm holding it down."
Raphtalia grabbed the sword while her hands were shivering. Sigyn couldn't intervene with her fight, but she'll watch her closely to ensure she isn't harmed by the monster while holding her dagger.
*Playing 'The Avengers Theme' by Alan Silvestri*
Raphtalia was still terrified to witness the monster, but she thought of happy memories that he had with Loki and Sigyn for the past few days to remove her fear. When she finally gained her composure and determination, she rushed towards the monster with yell and stabbed it on the head.
"Woah." Loki was slightly flung away as a result, same with Raphtalia.
"Master, Raphtalia!" Sigyn yelled worriedly, as the monster ignored the yell and continued to slowly pursue Raphtalia out of anger. "No!"
"Air Strike Shield." Loki activated the skill calmly, pointing it at Raphtalia.
A green glowing shield with a goat horn design in the middle appeared in front of Raphtalia, causing itself to hit the shield in a comedic style. Loki signaled Raphtalia to kill the monster, which she did successfully as its chest was releasing an amount of blood before collapsing to its death. Raphtalia breathed heavily, as she couldn't believe that she managed to kill a terrifying and dangerous monster while Sigyn and Loki were proud of her.
"Well done, Raphtalia." Loki answered proudly. "Your parents will be proud of you."
"Same with both of us." Sigyn said.
The three of them then gained a lot of XPs for killing the monster dog, though Sigyn felt she didn't deserve it considering she was just on the sidelines, watching her little sister facing her own demons. She felt that her master has an extreme way of getting rid of someone else's fear, but it's effective nonetheless. And nobody was hurt, including Raphtalia. Suddenly, Raphtalia ran towards the both of them.
"Master, Big Sis!" Raphtalia then hugged them, as she burst into tears.
Loki and Sigyn hugged her back though Loki had to endure the pain from the bite, considering the divine healing from the shield didn't prevent the bite though his injuries are healing. When Raphtalia cried, they comforted the poor demi-human which is an odd feeling for Loki because he never ever comforted anyone until now.
"Please! Don't leave me, Master Loki, Big Sis Sigyn!" Raphtalia begged while hugging them tightly.
Sigyn chuckled at the name, "We would never."
"If I were to abandon you, I'm no different from the man I used to be." Loki said while rubbing her hair. "Just don't be a hindrance to us from now."
"Master!" Sigyn criticized her master.
"I apologize sincerely. I'm not used to this yet." Loki apologized to his disciple, which is still odd to him but starting to get comfortable with it.
"I won't! I won't be a hindrance!" Raphtalia declared while tears were still flowing from her eyes.
Loki nodded, "Sigyn, pack those ores in the bag while I feed that monster to my shield. We're going to head back after that."
Sigyn nodded, "Yes, master. But…"
Loki knew what Sigyn was talking about because Raphtalia wasn't letting them go out of her hug. They decided to let her continue hugging them until she's satisfied. Suddenly, her stomach roared due to hunger as her cheeks blushed from the embarrassment.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Loki said with a deadpan tone because Raphtalia had eaten three times today while he and Sigyn were still full.
"Sorry…" Raphtalia apologized quietly while Sigyn giggled.
After selling the ores, they earned plenty of money from it so they had a minor feast for dinner. Raphtalia was enjoying the kids meal while Loki and Sylvie were enjoying their favorite food though it tasted bland for Loki, compared to Asgard's. He couldn't help criticizing commoner food sometimes.
Meanwhile, the three heroes met each other coincidentally after grinding some levels in different locations. All of them have a satisfied expression, except for Malty who was still furious that she revealed her secret identity to the public thanks to the Shield Demon. Now, everyone stared at her with disdain (due to false accusations she caused) and in awe (to those that respect her and refuse to believe she does something childish to the town) which started to annoy her.
'That damn Shield Demon…!' Malty exclaimed mentally.
"Yo, Ren. Are you earning some pocket money with your party too?" Motoyasu, the Spear Hero, asked curiously while his party members were following him.
"Yeah, something like that." Ren then noticed his fellow hero's party, which is absurd because it has so many women. "Your party has changed quite a bit since the last time I saw them."
"I like to say the same thing about you." Motoyasu said. "Man, there were so many women wanting to join me, but I warned them about gore missing so a lot changed their mind. It's hard being popular."
"Right…" Ren said. "You're going to get stabbed someday by their boyfriends or husbands."
Motoyasu chuckled, "I've already experienced it before I died. That's how I managed to arrive here."
"Huh, so you experienced it as well." Ren said.
"Woah, you too?" Motoyasu was surprised that his fellow hero had also been killed. "How did you die?"
"I got unlucky. I met a murderer, along with my childhood friend, that was lurking on the streets. The murderer was about to catch me after I saved my friend and the next thing that happened… I was transported here." Ren answered. "How about you, Itsuki?"
"Mine isn't as dramatic as yours… I was hit by a truck with full force… that's it." Itsuki said.
"Is this the afterlife?" Motoyasu asked.
"Probably. I don't know." Ren answered despite being smarter than them.
"What's sure is that it's truly similar to a fantasy." Itsuki said. "I mean, we're in a game world after all."
"Yeah, and it's starting to get easier. We may have started at level one, but I've gotten accustomed to the enemies and bosses to the point I could beat them with my eyes closed." Ren said while smirking.
"It's so easy being 'the great heroes will save the world'." Motoyasu said proudly.
As the three of them looked at the billboard which was filled with various quests. They started to converse about the notorious Shield Hero who claimed himself to be a prince and a god in his world, which was something to laugh at.
"By the way, have you heard about the rumors of 'Loki'?" Itsuki asked. "It looks like he's been threatening the people with the monsters he tamed somehow. And the recent one says that he taken a country bumpkin with him…"
"Hah!? So he's molesting children now!? If it's a girl, then he'll just take everything!? Disgraceful!" Motoyasu said, as Ren stared at him emotionless.
"Uhm… it sounds weird when you say it, Motoyasu." Itsuki pointed out.
"He's failed as a hero… no, he's failed as a human being!" Motoyasu declared angrily.
"Well, he self-proclaimed himself to be a god so I don't think he cares about being disgraced as a human being." Itsuki said.
"Speaking of that, do you believe anything he spouted nonsensically?" Motoyasu asked, scoffing at the idea that the delusional criminal was a prince and a god.
"Of course not. If he were a god, he would've destroyed Melromarc already but he can't because he isn't." Ren answered. "But I'm not sure whether he was telling the truth about him being a prince."
"Why?" Itsuki asked, as he doesn't see anything princely about Loki.
"Well, for one, he was wearing fine and expensive clothing when we were first summoned. So for all we know, he may be either a rich kid or a prince in his world." Ren explained.
Motoyasu scoffed, "I don't acknowledge him as one. He humiliated the king and the princess. It took me a few days to comfort Princess Malty!"
"Yeah, he's definitely a spoiled rich kid in his world." Itsuki said. "Anyway, what levels are you guys in?"
"We're not telling you." Ren and Motoyasu answered in unison.
CHAPTER 6 ENDED
Author's Notes:
I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I hope you weren't cringed at the 'emotional' scenes. It was executed beautifully in my mind, but I'm not sure about when I wrote it. Also, Loki and Raphtalia won't have a romantic relationship like in the canon. Raphtalia saw Loki as her father figure rather than a romantic partner. I'm still not sure about Loki x Sigyn though.
[1] The design of the Air Strike Shield is different. In the original, it was like… wings or something, but it had 'goat' horns instead, similar to the fanfic thumbnail.
[2] Though calling a dog 'boy' is common, this was meant to be a reference from God of War where Kratos kept calling Atreus 'boy'. And it's revealed that Atreus' name in Jotunheim is 'Loki' which was mind-blowing to me on my first playthrough.
