Data and Ensign Gina Monroe investigate Picard's disappearance at a peace conference. When their shuttle crashes, Data and Gina must work together… only to end up being captured by enemy aliens. They learn much about Picard's whereabouts but it comes at a cost: the prison overseer has taken a liking to Gina and the Enterprise is plagued by a mysterious disease.
