Chapter 2:

The morning arrived all too soon for Emma's liking. As she woke up with the impression of her laptop keyboard on her face and the sun binding her. "Urgh, why does it have to be so bright?" grumbled Emma to herself. As she rolled over to try to avoid the bright sunlight. But with her eagerness to avoid the early morning sun, she forgot that she was on the edge of the small king single bed to begin with. So she found herself falling on her rear with a rather loud thump on the wooden floorboards.

"Emma? Are you alright honey?" asked Snow who had dashed up the ladder stairs when she heard the loud thump.

"I am okay Mary Margret." Mumbled Emma as she pulled herself up off the floor. And back up onto the bed.

"So, your father tells me you are going on a date tonight with Regina. Are you sure that is wise? What about Killian? I thought you two were beginning to hit it off?" asked Snow in a rush to get the conversation she wanted to have last night started.

"Seriously? You thought Hook and I were hitting it off? I am not interested in him like that Snow. I barely tolerate the man. Well, I will admit he can be a good friend when he wants to be. But that is the extent of it for me. I have already done the bad boy type when I was with Neal. Besides reformed Evil Queens are more my type. I have had a thing for Regina ever since she turned up at my door at Granny's with a basket of apples. Why wouldn't it be wise?" replied Emma as she sat up with her back against the headboard of her bed.

"Well you and Regina are co-parenting Henry and you have a tentative friendship. Aren't you worried about that if the romantic relationship doesn't work out? Killian isn't so bad really, once you get over the whole he used to be a pirate thing." Said Snow, wanting to get her point across.

"He is still a pirate though. Even without his ship he still the pirate he always was. That will never change with him, especially once he realises I am not going to let him 'win my heart.' He is only being 'good' to get into my pants. And to get your approval. I haven't seen him do anything without an ulterior motive involved. Whereas Regina, she has earned her redemption many times over. She is no longer a villain. She broke the curse you and dad cast remember and defeated Zelena. She is a hero." Explained Emma, she wanted Snow's acceptance but her being with Regina was contingent on that approval.

"You are right, Regina is a hero. But isn't she with Robin? I thought he was her soulmate? And what about Henry? What if he doesn't like the idea of his two mothers being in a romantic relationship. What will you do then?" said Snow trying to dissuade Emma from dating Regina. She didn't know why she was so convinced that it wasn't a good idea. She did want Emma to be happy. And she even wanted Regina to be happy as well. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she just didn't see how her daughter and former step-mother could make each other happy.

It wasn't that she had anything against same sex couples it, was just that she knew Regina would want to have another child some day and as far as Snow knew that wasn't exactly possible outside finding a sperm donor and she didn't think any of the men aside from maybe Robin would be interested in making that kind of donation. Unless Emma was the one to carry, then she supposed Emma would have no trouble finding someone to do that.

"Regina and Robin split up not long after I brought back Marian from the past. Regina has been trying to help save Marian from whatever it is that has caused her heart to freeze. If you must know, I love her mum. I am in love with her, so much that I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Is that enough of a reason for you to accept it? If for some unknown reason Henry doesn't like the idea of Regina and I being together then I suppose we will just continue on as we are. As friends and co-parents. We are still a family regardless." Replied a resigned Emma. She had her arms crossed in front of her chest in a defensive posture.

"You're in love with her? Well, if that is the case I will accept it, as long as you do truly love her. Regina deserves to finally have the true love she has longed for her entire life." Returned Snow, a hopeful smile on her face as she gave Emma her response. Snow then left Emma's room to head on downstairs to begin to cook them all some breakfast before they all needed to get to work.

Emma grabbed her toiletries, clothes for the day and her bath towel.

Then quickly climbed down the stairs to have her morning shower while Snow cooked their breakfast. She was still rather shocked that Snow didn't gush about her use of 'mum' rather than her name or curse name. Though Emma would gladly take it for the gift that it was. After her shower she joined her parents and ate the hot breakfast consisting of bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, scrambled eggs, baked beans and buttered toast.

"Thanks for breakfast, it was delicious. I better get going, I have the first patrol this morning. I will see you later dad before you go for the after-lunch patrol." Said Emma as she walked out of the loft apartment door, red leather jacket in hand.

"She called you dad?" asked a tentative Snow.

"Yeah, that is twice now within two days." Replied David a bright goofy smile upon his face. Snow noticed it was where Emma got her smile from. Emma was certainly a Charming through and through. The only thing of her that Snow could see was her chin and stubborn attitude. And more than likely where she got her need to protect and believe in Regina from.

"I am happy for you. But don't you think it is a little sudden that she is declaring she loves Regina at all?" Replied Snow, as she went about cleaning up after their breakfast before she needed to finish getting ready for work.

"I don't know, they have known each other for at least four years now. That is longer than we knew each other before I woke you up with a true love's kiss. So, who are we to judge?" said David as he helped Snow with the dishes.

"I guess you are right, I just wish things were different." Replied Snow, as she left the dishes to go attend to their young son who was crying to be fed.

"What do you mean Snow? We have our daughter, our son and we even have a grandson. What could be different really? Things happen for a reason. Would I have loved to have been able to raise Emma from a baby back in the Enchanted Forest? Sure I would. But if we did, would we have our son? Or Henry for that matter? I am happy with our family as they are. But I think we should start looking for a bigger house for us all. This loft isn't big enough for all of us to live in." replied David as he took over from Snow after she had nursed their son. David burped and changed Baby Neal. Since he didn't start his shift at the station until eleven am.

"You are right, I don't like it. But once again you are right about this. I will just have to see how it all pans out. Anyway I have got to get going. Students to teach and all that." Said Snow before leaning in to give David a loving kiss goodbye before she too headed out of the loft to get to her place of work. David, then went about filling his time before his shift started to get as much of the housework done that he could.

He took pride in the fact that he helped around the house. Since he no longer had to deal with running a farm or a kingdom. He was happy to just help keep their citizens safe and help with providing a happy home for his family.

Meanwhile over at the station, Emma was just finishing up some last minute paperwork that the nightshift Deputy Mulan had left on her desk before heading home to her room that she was currently renting at the bed and breakfast. She had yet to find a permanent place to live. And as much as she enjoyed being apart of Robin's merry men. She did however get sick of always sleeping in tents and hearing the men talk in a derogative fashion about the women they found attractive.

"Oy sister! Are you going to let me out of here or what?" yelled a disgruntled Leroy. Who was recovering from a bad hangover.

"I will let you out when I am good and ready!" shouted Emma from her desk. Not letting her get distracted from entering the reports into the computer. After she had finished the reports. She got up from behind her desk, put her red leather jacket back on. Then grabbed the jail cell keys while she was at it. The sooner she let out Grumpy the better her day was going to be. She walked over to the cell he was in then unlocked it. "About time you let me go." Said Leroy ungratefully.

"Lose the attitude Leroy, or next time I will let you rot." Replied Emma as she escorted him out of the station. She then got into her car, reversed out of the parking lot then drove out onto main street to begin her morning patrol. While she was driving around town, she noticed Archie trying to catch her attention.

She pulled up close to the curb. Rolled down her window so she could find out what he wanted. "Hey Archie what seems to be the problem?" asked Emma.

"Pongo has broken free of his leash again. And I can't seem to find him anywhere. Do you think you could take a look around and try to find him? I will keep looking also." Replied Archie, desperation in his voice.

"Of course Archie, I will call you if I find him, then meet you at the station. Is that alright?" asked Emma, smiling at Archie in reassurance.

"Great, thank you Emma I appreciate you doing this." replied a very grateful Archie.

With that in mind Emma drove off slowly and carefully looking in every direction, using her magic as an extra sense along the way. After approximately fifteen minutes Emma found Pongo sniffing around by the pond at the park on the outskirts of the woods. She pulled up to the nearest parking space then took off on foot, hoping to catch Pongo unawares. She used a silencing spell on her feet so that he wouldn't hear her coming. However Emma being Emma, she forgot about Pongo's keen sense of smell. So when Emma was just about to clip the spare leash to Pongo's collar he took off like a speeding bullet in the opposite direction causing Emma to fall flat onto her face into the mud that was around the edge of the pond.

"Seriously!? I just washed my hair…ugh and here I thought I wouldn't need to wash it again before the date tonight." Grumbled Emma to herself as she pushed herself up to a stand. She wiped the mud off of herself as best she could, before taking off after Pongo once more. Eventually Emma was able to catch him just at the edge of the enchanted garden magic border that Elsa created. Thankful that Pongo had the sense not to go in. She attached the leash to the Dalmatian then walked him back to where her car was parked so that she could call Archie and let him know that she had found him.

When she finished the call she decided it would be best to walk Pongo back to the station herself, rather then drag mud all over the inside of her precious bug. The dog yipped and barked at every exciting sound and smell along the way. She wanted to curse Archie by the time they made it to the station. Instead she handed over the overly excited dog to an appreciative Archie. "Thank you so much Emma, I hope that he didn't cause you too much damage…oh and by the way have a good time on your date tonight with Regina." said Archie with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"How did you know about that?" asked a very confused Emma.

"Red overheard your conversation with Regina yesterday and you know how words spreads in this town.." Replied Archie before heading off to his home office. A disgruntled Emma summoned her car over to her reserved car spot too annoyed to bother walking back to where she left it. After she had done that, she trudged on up into the station eager to use the station's locker room to shower and change into a set of clean clothes. Feeling ever grateful for the protection spell she cast on her red leather jacket the second Regina had taught her how.

Emma took off her muddy boots, placing them under the hose in the mud room. She hosed them clean then continued over to the lockers where she proceeded to remove her dirty clothing. Stumbling a bit when her skinny jeans refused to come off with all the caked-on mud and other debris from the woods.

She eventually got all her dirty clothing off her body, then she stepped under the stream of hot water relishing the feeling of the tension from her sore muscles eased from the heat of the water. When she was done with the shower she got changed into a clean set of clothes she keeps on hand at the station for situations just like this one.

She then took her dirty clothes over to the laundry bag that gets picked up on a daily basis to get taken to the laundromat.

Something she was glad she convinced Regina to allow in the last budget meeting. Regina had grumbled at first, ranting about it being a waste of public tax funds. But she eventually caved once Emma explained why it was a necessity. Once she was finished with that Emma walked back into the station's main room. Where she then entered her office.

There was a lengthy report she needed to fill in after that adventure with Pongo. Emma often wondered if Regin got bored of endless reports of Pongo's misadventures. Constant indecent exposure reports staring one Grumpy the Dwarf. Public intoxication also staring Grumpy and on occasion one Killian Jones. Reports of petty theft, that on many occasion had Robin being charged. Much to his Merry men's disapproval.

No matter how many times she had to tell them she was just doing her job, they still kicked up a stink. Though getting to lock up Robin overnight gave her a warm and fuzzy feeling. Just as she was finishing the report, she heard the tell tale sound of Regina's designer heels click-clacking down the hall of the Station. "Madam Mayor, what did I do to deserve the honour of your presence?" asked Emma flirtatiously.

"You told me you love me, that is why." Said Regina just as flirtatiously. Regina walked over to Emma's desk a container full of the leftovers from last night's dinner and a hot chocolate with cream and cinnamon to go with it. She placed the takeaway cup with the hot chocolate with the Tupperware container with the pasta on the desk.

She then came over to Emma's desk chair and leaned down to give a shocked Emma a kiss. Which Emma eagerly deepened loving the feeling of having Regina in her arms.

They only break apart from the kiss when much needed air. Regina stumbled slightly as she regained her footing. Feeling a little dazed after that passionate kiss. "Remind me to say it more often if it gives me kisses like that and homemade cooking from you." Replied an equally dazed Emma as she slowly caught her breath.

"I thought you might like some lunch that wasn't a heart attack in the making." Said Regina as she took a seat on one of the chairs in front of Emma's desk.

"I do appreciate it, Regina. You certainly know the way to my heart. Your company that comes along with the meal, even better." Emma flirted.

"Flattery will get you everywhere Miss Swan." Returned Regina with her signature smirk firmly on her face. She was loving the new twist to their usual witty banter. Regina definitely enjoyed how Emma has always had a way to keep her on her toes. And her continued belief in her goodness was a huge turn on. Who knew that the Saviour would be the one to give her unconditional love and support? Certainly not her, though she was not going to take that for granted.

"Well, you know me. I am always ready to give you compliments your majesty. For one you are a wonderful mother to our son. You are an awesome cook and you are beautiful inside and out." Replied Emma, with love in her heart.

"You are beautiful as well Emma." Declared Regina proudly. She then took the container over to the microwave heating up the pasta while using a little bit of her magic to warm up the hot chocolate for Emma and a hot mocha for herself. Emma took the hot beverage thankfully, took a sip and moaned as the flavours hit her tongue. The sound of Emma's moans had Regina squirming slightly in her chair, trying her best not to make her arousal noticeable. At least not on her designer pants.

Her nickers though? Most definitely ruined. If this is how she reacts to Emma's moaning with just the taste of a sweet hot beverage. She could only imagine just how aroused she will be when they eventually make love. She took a sip of her own beverage, moaning in pleasure herself without even realising she did it. Causing Emma to squirm herself. Glad she put on a pair of underwear rather than going her usual commando whenever she wore her skinny jeans. Most definitely glad.

They ate their lunch together, talking about their days so far. Emma telling Regina all about having to chase Pongo all over the woods. Regina laughed hard when Emma told her about landing in the mud after Pongo ran off in the opposite direction. And the seemly cat and mouse game that Pongo had her play until she finally caught him. While Regina told her about Red giving her the old "you hurt Emma and I will bury you alive with a shovel" speech as she was picking up their beverages from Granny's diner.

"Well at least Ruby approves of us. That is a bonus, she might be able to get my mother to comprehend that I am in love with you. She gave a reluctant blessing and a similar shovel talk about me hurting you. My dad approves of us as well. Which I am grateful for as he will help with dealing with my mum. What about Henry what does he think about us dating?" replied Emma after swallowing the last mouthful of her food.

"He was overly enthusiastic about us being together. He is looking forward to us eventually living under the same roof. Being a complete family. I wouldn't worry about Snow, she will come around at some point she can't resist a happy ending after all. It is where Henry gets his eternal belief and optimism from. Because he certainly didn't get it from, me, you, Rumple or Neal." Explained Regina, a bright and happy smile upon her face. That talking about Henry brings out in her.

Emma smiled as well upon hearing Henry's approval. "I am glad henry approves of us…it gives me even more of a reason to do this…" said Emma before getting up out of her chair and pulled Regina into another very passionate kiss. That had Regina feeling dizzy from the intensity of it. She couldn't ever recall being kissed like the way Emma was kissing her, she then returned the kiss with equal amounts of passion. Letting her hands explore Emma's body daringly considering that Emma's office was a clear see through glass. Emma, lost in her own passion; let her hands wander over Regina's body not caring who could see them.

All she cared about was that she had the woman she loved in front of her.

That she could kiss her whenever she wanted and was allowed touch her in places she had been wanting to do so for a long time. But she still was mindful enough to not take it too far. As it was not the time nor the place to take it beyond kissing and light groping.

Something of which Regina was grateful for. Word getting around that she was having sex in public places wouldn't do well for her reputation. "Not that I don't enjoy those kisses Emma, but what was that for?" asked Regina once she regained her composure.

"Just because you are special." Replied Emma as she too regained her composure and reigned in her arousal.

"Well then, I will have to remember that." Replied Regina with a flirtatious lilt to her voice. Then she gave Emma a chaste kiss to the lips.

"I better get back to work, I will see you tonight for our date. Did you want to meet up at Sebastián's or shall I pick you up at the loft?" asked Regina as she picked up the now empty Tupperware containers.

"I asked you Regina, I will come by your place half an hour beforehand and we can go together. Is that alright with you?" replied Emma, her heart pounding in her chest in nervousness.

"Yes dear, that would be wonderful. I will see you then don't be late." Said Regina, before she left Emma's office then the station. When she was gone, Emma walked out of her office and out into the main office area. She needed to walk off the pent up sexual tension. And the best place to do that was over by the interrogation room which when they didn't have a case also doubled as a workout room. She waved her hand to set it up as an at home gym. She then got onto the treadmill set it to its highest setting then began to run.

As she did she felt all her tension just drain away. It was while she was running that David entered the room. "Hey Emma, is there any particular reason you felt like running?" asked a curious David. Emma didn't hear him at first as she was focused on what she was doing.

But once she had noticed that David was trying to speak to her she turned down the settings so she could wind down from the hard run slowly. "What was that? I didn't hear. Had my headphones in." replied Emma slightly out of breath.

"I said, any reason you felt like running?" responded David.

"Oh, I just needed to work off some pent up sexual tension." Replied a sheepish Emma, she felt embarrassed about having to mention anything to do with her sex life or lack there off for that matter.

"Uh. Right I didn't need to know that…yep…definitely too much information." said as he tried to shake the image out of his mind of Emma and Regina having sex.

"You did ask dad…" said Emma while stifling a laugh..

"So, how was your morning patrol have any problems?" asked David trying to change the subject.

"No problems, just the usual with Pongo getting free of his leash again. Then Regina stopped by with some leftovers and a hot chocolate for my and her lunch, which we already ate. We kissed a few times. She only just left to head back over to town hall." Said Emma, after she waved her hand to change the room back into the interrogation room. Then her and David walked back into the main part of the station. They took a seat each at the main desks. Where they started up a game of trash ball.

While they were playing, a call came in on one of the station's phones. David reached over to pick it up; "Sheriff's station, how can we help you?"

"Hey mate, I need some help down at the docks. The bloody Ice Queen, what's her name? you know the one that Swan said she had as a foster mum when she was a teenager? Well she has frozen my bloody boat." Slurred Hook over the phone.

"Alright Hook calm down, we are on our way." Responded David before hanging up the phone.

"What did Hook want?" asked Emma not looking forward to having to go see the pirate.

"Apparently Ingrid has frozen over the ship or whatever boat Hook is using at the moment. He wants us to help him unfreeze it or something like that. So come on we better sort this out then you can head off to get ready for your date. I will call in Ruby to fill in for the rest of your shift. If you want that or not." Explained David.

"Of course Hook just had to piss of Ingrid on the day I get to go on a date with Regina. I bet this is just a ploy for him to try and get into my pants again. Mr stalker pirate really doesn't understand the concept of no." sighed Emma before putting her Red leather jacket on.

"What makes you say he pissed Ingrid off?" asked David as he too put his own jacket on. They both walk out into the station's parking lot and got into one of the cruisers. When they get into the car with David driving, then Emma finally answered.

"Hook, has got the notion in his head that I am his happy ending. I know he and I are not meant to be. Regina is my happy ending, I feel it in my heart. When I didn't reciprocate his feelings he didn't take it all that well. He has been drowning all his sorrows in booze. From the reports I have read from Mulan she has had to put his drunk arse back on his boat numerous times now. And I dare say he probably said something that pissed Ingrid off." Explained Emma as best as she could.

"If what you say is true I can't believe I ever trusted him. Let's just fix whatever problem that's going on down at the docks. I am going to make sure you get to go on that date with Regina." replied David as they pulled up into to parking lot by the docks.

As soon as they step out of the car, Hook comes running up to them; "Hey Swan, glad you could make it." he goes to lean in in for a kiss but misses as Emma steps out of the way. He then looses his balance falling flat on his face. David holds a hand out to help him up. Though he couldn't help but laugh about the incident. Hook takes the offered hand, getting up onto his feet.

"Stop trying to kiss me and just tell us what you need us for." Stated Emma. Frustration clear in her voice.

"Alright, calm down love. I was only being sociable. That bloody Ice Queen witch she used her magic to freeze me bloody boat. Can you fix it for me love, I want to sleep in my own bed tonight and not the picnic table bench." Whined Hook, using his best puppy dog eyes and smarmy smile he could muster.

"Fine lead the way." Replied Emma and David at the same time both fed up with his sleazy manipulations. They followed him to where his current boat he was renting was docked.

"See she froze it over!" said hook as he pointed his hook in the direction of the frozen boat. Trapping those who were on it at the time in place.

Emma steps onto the boat to get a better feel of the magic used, like Regina taught her to do. Once she got the feel of the complexity of the magic, she then shot a blast of her magic to engulf the entirety of the boat and its crew. Reversing the ice magic that was used.

The effort it took to reverse the magic, made Emma feel a little sluggish. "Dad can you finish up here? I need to go and recharge the batteries a bit." Said Emma quietly so that Hook couldn't hear.

"Sure thing sweetheart, have a good time tonight. Text me if you plan on staying at Regina's place so your mother and I don't wait up for you. I will deal with the drunken pirate for you." Replied David giving Emma a kiss on the cheek in goodbye.

"Will do, say goodnight to Henry for Regina and I tonight as he is coming over after he finishes school." Replied Emma as she used what little magic she had to teleport herself back to the loft so that she could take a brief nap to recharge her energy before her date with Regina. She took off her jacket and shoes before lying down on her bed. At around three pm Henry entered the loft rather loudly, completely unaware that his blonde mother was sleeping soundly upstairs. He was too caught up in his own world to notice.

He dumped his school backpack by the coat stand near the loft door.

Then made his way over to the fridge looking for whatever junk food he could find before Snow were to follow him into the loft after she had finished picking up Neal from day care. Snow came in through the loft door Neal strapped firmly in the baby carrier she was holding. She placed Neal in his play pen where he began to crawl around playing with his toys.

"Henry, just because you are here without either of your mother's around doesn't mean you can shove every bit of junk food you can get your hands on into your mouth." Chastised Snow, as Henry swallowed the food he had chipmunked.

"Awe come on grams, just this once?" replied Henry using his puppy eyes he knows has won over his grandmother before. But unfortunately for him not this time it seems.

"Henry put those puppy eyes away. It isn't going to work this time. Now put that away, you know how much Emma likes to eat those whenever she has had a long day at the station." Replied a stern Snow.

Henry groaned in disappointment but put away the plate of chocolate fudge brownies from the town's local bakery. Run by Princess Tiana and her father Prince Naveen who ran the café attached to it. "Ugh why doesn't Emma just use her magic to make more?" whined Henry, as he walked over to the window seat where he pulled out his Nintendo DS. He got caught up in his game so he didn't hear Emma's grumpy response.

"Because I can't replicate the delicate taste and flavour scents that go into those brownies. Magic doesn't work like that kid. You can only replicate food you know how to make yourself." Explained Emma exasperatedly.

"I don't think he is listening to you, Emma. What are you doing home so early? I thought your shift finished at five?" said Snow as she was seated at the dining table marking her students homework and assignments.

"I was supposed to finish then that is true but I had to come home early. Hook pissed off Ingrid so I had to use way more magic then I thought I would reversing the spell she put onto the boat he is residing in at the moment. I thought it best to come home and take a nap to recover as much of my energy and magic as I can. I want to be at my best for my date with Regina tonight. I have only been home for only an hour. I am going to head on back up for another hour as I am still feeling sluggish after using a lot of magic, can you wake me up around five pm so I can get ready for my date please mum?" explained Emma tiredly.

Snow nodded her agreement, as could see and hear just how tired Emma was. And she wanted to fire a quiver full of arrows into Hook's face for being selfish and stupid enough to anger a powerful witch. Which helped Snow to see why Emma didn't want to get involved with the pirate. He was selfish and has a tendency to sap the life out of Emma whenever she had been around him

"Henry, please get your homework out. I would prefer not to get a lecture from Regina about being a bad influence on you. When you finish it, you can play video games then. Alright sweetheart?" said Snow softly so as to not wake up Emma.

"Okay grams, can we have pie for dessert tonight?" replied Henry as he quietly trudged over to his school backpack to get out his homework.

"Sure I can make us a pie for dessert." Answered Snow. Before going back to marking her students works.

At five pm David came through the loft door looking exhausted. "Is Emma up and about yet?" asked David softly.

"No not yet, I was just about to send Henry up to wake her." Replied Snow as she was nursing Neal as it was time for his evening meal.

"Well okay, I will send Henry up to wake Emma. Then you and I need to have a chat before we get started on making dinner for us and Henry." Replied David, he then leant down to give Snow a kiss then kissed the top of Neal's head.

He walked over to the lounge area where Henry was busy playing a game on the xbox that Emma set up for herself and Henry and occasionally David for when it is Emma's week to have Henry stay with her. David tapped on Henry's headphones to get his attention. Henry paused the game he was playing to hear what David wanted.

"Hey Henry, can you go upstairs and wake up Emma for us? And see if she wants any help picking out her outfit for tonight. Wait were you playing elder scrolls?" asked David his curiosity got the better of him there for a minute.

"Yes it is the online version. I can't really pause the game but whatever. Making sure Ma gets ready in time for this date tonight is more important." Replied Henry. As he put down his xbox controller and headset. He then got up of the lounge and took off as quick as he could up the stairs to wake up Emma. He walked over to Emma's room, opening the door carefully so as to not startle her too much. Emma doesn't take well to being woken up before she is ready too well.

He walks over to where Emma was sleeping and gently shakes her arm that was hanging from the side of the bed. When that doesn't work he grabs the full glass of water from the bedside table. Then splashes it over Emma's face. Then he stepped quickly out of the way of Emma's flailing arm.

"What was that for?" groaned Emma as she sat up in bed wiping the water off her face as best she could.

"It is time to get up Ma, you have a date to get ready for." Replied Henry with a cheeky smile upon his face.

"Alright Henry you are right. What the hell am I going to wear? We are going to a fancy French restaurant for god's sake." Said Emma as she began to panic.

"Alright calm down Ma, you know whatever you wear mum is going to love it. Hmm, what about that dress you were wearing when I first knocked on your door? You looked really nice in that dress." Said Henry doing his best to calm down his blonde mother.

"The pink dress, right okay…I hope you are right about that dress kid." Said Emma as she tried to collect her thoughts. She slowly got out of bed, grabbing the nearest pair of pants she could find. Henry had left the bedroom out of respect for her privacy when he saw that she had calmed down enough to get up. Henry then had gone back downstairs to continue to play his game until it was dinnertime for himself and his grandparents.

Emma walked over to her wardrobe, opened it up and began to hunt down the pink dress Henry referred to. She trusted his judgement with regards to which clothes would be suitable. For a fourteen year old boy he sure knew a lot about formal clothes.

After a few minutes looking she finally found the dress she was looking for. She grabbed the shoes that go with it as well on her way out of the wardrobe. She then picked up her toiletry bag and towel. Then went down the stairs clothes in tow to head into the shared bathroom. She had a quick shower to freshen up, then put her matching bra and nickers set on. So that she could do her hair and make up carefully. So as to not stain the dress.

Meanwhile over at Regina's house, Regina was in a similar panic to what Emma was going through over at the loft. She wanted to wear something that Emma hadn't seen her wear before, while also wanting to look sexually appealing. However it also had to be appropriate for a fine dining restaurant. Oh how she wished she had Henry with her to help her pick out the right outfit. He was always so good at coming up with just the right look. So she picked up her phone and dialled Henry using the face time app. He picked up on what she thought would be the second ring.

"Hey mum, let me guess you want my help with what to wear for tonight? How about one of your red dresses? Not the one you wore when you met up with Robin though as Emma has already seen that one and she associates that with a not so good time for her. I think you should go with one that borders on being an Evil Queen style dress but also has a good mix of the mayor version of you. She will love it. That's all I can think off at the moment but you will look great no matter what mum." Said Henry before hanging up. As it sounded like Snow had called him over to help set the table.

'Hmm, so then I will need to come up with a new dress. One that combines both my mayor style and evil queen. Perhaps something that will help trigger Emma's memories from when she travelled through time and spent some time with the Queen side of me before I sent her down to the dungeons.' Thought Regina as she was searching through her vast walk in wardrobe. Not being able to find the right dress in her collection in her manor wardrobe she waved her hand to summon the dresses from the wardrobe in the secret section of her vault.

In the end she decided on a purple dress that hugged her curves in all the right places and showed just enough cleavage to draw the eyes but appropriate enough for a fine dining restaurant. Since the weather was starting to get cool she had one of her black suit jackets with her just in case it got cold. She put on a pair of her designer heels that goes well with the dress she was wearing. She fixed her hair and make up, then patiently as she could with how nervous she was. So much so that she stared at the clock as six-thirty pm came by so slowly she was worried that she was going to set the fancy clock on the wall on fire by just how intense her staring at it was.

Then at six-thirty on the dot she heard the familiar engine hum of Emma's vintage Volkswagen bug. That Regina had affectionately called a yellow death trap on wheels. Knowing that it would get a rise out of the blonde saviour. Not being able to wait any longer Regina got up off the bar stool she was sitting on. And then grabbed her handbag, checked that her purse, touch up make-up and other needed bits and pieces were inside it. Followed by the house keys that she kept on a hook near the front door. Regina opened the front door just as Emma was about to knock on the door.

"Hi, you look absolutely stunning…um these are for you." Said Emma as she was awestruck by the beautiful woman standing before her in the manor's doorway. Emma had handed her a bunch of her favourite flowers.

"Why thank you Emma, these are wonderful. You look stunning yourself. Come inside while I put these in water." Replied and equally awestruck Regina. Emma nodded her ascent then followed Regina into the kitchen area. As Regina grabbed a vase from out of one of the cupboards. She filled it halfway up with water from the kitchen sink. Adding a pinch of sugar to help the flowers to last longer.

"Right are you ready to go?" asked Emma after Regina had finished putting the flowers in the vase.

"Yes, are we taking your car or mine?" replied Regina.

"Hmm, mine I think. Unless you prefer we take yours?" replied a contemplative Emma, unsure as to who should drive.

"How about we take your car, since you did ask me out. I am not that comfortable driving in these heels." Replied Regina, noticing the nervous energy surrounding Emma. One thing she knew would calm Emma would be to let her drive. Especially when she was so charged with nerves. With that decision made the two women left the manor and got into Emma's car. Emma then pulled out of the driveway, Regina turned on the radio to calm them both down. Knowing that listening to whatever song the Storybrooke radio night disk jockey put on, would allow both of them to clear their minds of the no doubt many 'what if' scenarios running around each of their minds.

Considering how this was to be their first date.

If this date goes well, then they will know in their minds that it was meant to be. That they could be more then just friends and co-parents of their son. Interesting enough Fleetwood Mac's "Big Love" came on the radio. To both of their delight. They eagerly sang along to the words as they drove along the quiet town streets. The song finished just as they pulled up into the parking lot for the restaurant. Emma in an act of chivalry walked around the car so that she could open the car door for Regina.

Regina smiled wide at the gesture, taking Emma's hand as she got out of the car. They then walked hand in hand into the restaurant. Where they were greeted by the hostess. "Good evening Madam Mayor, Sheriff Swan. Do you have a booking with us for tonight?" asked the hostess, whose name on the tag was Ariel.

"I thought you were living out your happy ending with your prince Eric?" asked a slightly shocked Regina.

"I was, but we both decided that we wanted to come back here to Storybrooke…Ah yes…here we are a booking for two under Emma Swan. Follow me I will direct you to your requested table." Replied Ariel, Regina and Emma follow her to their seat where they were helped into their seats by one of the waitstaff as soon as Ariel placed their menus in the centre of the table.

"Flounder will be your waiter tonight. I hope you enjoy your dining experience with us tonight." said Ariel as she then left them to browse their menus in peace.

"Wow this place is really fancy." Said a rather impressed Emma.

"Yes, I was pleasantly surprised myself when they first opened. When Sebastián came to me asking for permission to open up the restaurant here by the known local dive bar. I was sceptical about how well it would do. Considering the clientele that frequents around this area of town." Replied Regina, as she took a look at the drink's menu.

"What do you say we order a bottle of their finest Red wine?" asked Emma as she too read the drink's menu. She wanted to impress Regina with her knowledge of wine. Knowing how sophisticated Regina was.

"Hmm, yes that sounds lovely. What about the entrees did you want to share or get individual ones?" asked Regina not sure on the protocol for dates.

"I think individual, would be best. And we can try a bit of each other's if you like." Replied Emma, a flirtatious smile upon her face.

When the waiter returned to take their drinks order they ordered a bottle of the Chateau Calon-Segur 1989 vintage to share while they had their entrée's consisting of Moules a la Mariniere, Chausson du Fromage de Chevre and Soupe à L'Oignon. While they ate their entrée's and savoured the wine, they reflected on the events of the first year they met each other in Storybrooke. Though Regina itched to talk about the time they spent together in the Enchanted Forest when Emma time travelled into the past.

"I am curious to know when I attacked your apple tree with the chainsaw, what was that look you gave me about?" asked Emma, wanting to confirm her suspicions about how that look in her mind was one that said Regina wanted to both fuck her right there and then and kill her all at the same time.

"I honestly was torn between fucking you up against the tree and killing you." Replied Regina, smirk firmly planted on her face.

"That's what I thought. When you sat on one of the desks in that sexy mayor outfit of yours, stockings included. I thought I was going to drown in a puddle of my own making. You had me so turned on I really didn't know what to do with myself. You have often turned me on whenever we were fighting it is why I said to you; 'Whatever it is between us needs to end.' As I was on the verge of embarrassing myself by just leaning in a smashing my lips into yours when you would get all up into my personal space…we would've had so much hate sex if we had just gave in to our sexual tension back then." Teased Emma as she took a spoonful of the French onion soup.

Regina seemed to be hypnotised by the movements of the spoon in Emma's mouth as she barely listened to what Emma was saying.

"Oh I am fully aware of just how thick our sexual tension has always been. I am ashamed to say that I called Graham over more often to try and work it off because masturbation just wasn't cutting it. And even he couldn't douse the flames you ignited inside me. No one I have been with sexually since meeting you has been able to satisfy me. I bet the only person who could would be you. As you are the one I crave. With both my heart and my body. So I am most definitely looking forward to when we reach that part of our new relationship." Confessed Regina, with love and lust equally showing in her eyes and voice.

Just then the waiter brought over their second bottle of red wine this time a Chateau Rauzan-Segla 1995 vintage. He poured them a glass each then placed the bottle in the centre of the table. He removed the empty bottle and took away their now empty entrée plates.

"Your mains will be out shortly, I hope you're enjoying your meals and the wine so far." Said the waiter before he took the stack of plates, cutlery, wine glasses and the bottle through to the kitchen.

They took a small sip of the wine each, savouring the rich bouquet that wafted out of the glass. Both moaned their pleasure at the silky, full-bodied taste. Every bit of the various ripe fruits and the hint of vanilla embracing their taste buds. Both Regina and Emma were enjoying their time together and the food and wine they had consumed so far.

"So, you have masturbated with me as your mental fantasy? I think that is the sexiest thing I have ever heard. I too have definitely fantasised about you while letting my fingers do the walking and using my sex toys. It certainly wasn't enough. I can only hope to fully satisfy you. When we do get to the sex part of our relationship. Whenever you're ready for that of course. I would never presume to rush you into anything. I will wait for however long it takes you to be ready for us to take that step. Just going on this date with me and many more I hope is enough for me." Replied Emma, with equal amount of lust and love in her voice and eyes.

The waiter then brought out their main meals; the Pore a la Dijonnaise for Emma and the Brochette d'Agneau a la Greque for Regina. They thank the waiter, then they each take a bite of their respective meals. Each relishing in the delicate flavours and melt in your mouth tenderness of the meat they consumed. They eat in companionable silence for a bit before striking up a conversation once more. This time about what they think will be a good second date. "I was thinking, for our second date we could have a family meal with Henry at Granny's? or we could try out that new bar Aesop's go for some drinks and dancing?" suggested Regina.

"I would be more than happy with either suggestion. We could grab dinner as a family, then drop Henry off at either my parents place or see if Rumple and Belle would mind spending time with him? Since Rumple is his other grandfather and all. Might keep Rumple out of the way if he is focused on Henry rather than whatever scheme he has been no doubt cooking up with Ingrid. Then we can check out Aesop's?" replied Emma.

"I like that idea, though it would probably be safer for Henry to stay with your parents. Perhaps ask Henry which of his grandparents he would want to stay with while we went out for the rest of that night." Continued Regina.

"Sounds like a plan. I am glad you are interested in going for a second date." Said Emma lovingly.

"Of course I love spending time with you. And I want this relationship to work." Replied Regina happily. They continued to enjoy their meals after that. Partaking in small talk and the occasional companionable silence. Where they just enjoyed each other's company giving a taste of each other's meals as well. Before putting in an order for coffees and dessert. They ordered the crème brulee's after Emma managed to convince Regina that she deserved to treat herself every now and then.

They finish their desserts and coffees. Then it was time to settle the bill. Emma baulked at the price for a minute, but didn't complain. She had more than enough money saved from her time as a bail bonds person. Being the frugal saver that she was. "I can pay half if you like." Suggested Regina after seeing Emma's reaction to the price of their three course meal and bottles of expensive wine.

"No, it is alright. But thanks for the offer. Tonight is my treat. You can get the bill on our next date." Replied Emma with her big goofy smile in place.

"Well then, thank you for such a lovely meal. I will be sure to take you up on that" Replied Regina gratefully and teasingly. Once Emma paid for their meals, they left the restaurant. Hand in hand, bright happy smiles on their faces. They then walk back to Emma's car. Emma opens the passenger side door, then her own. Thankful that they don't have to go to far. She passed Regina a cold bottle of water, taking a large sip out of her own. Before turning the car on and driving back to Regina's place.

When they arrive at Regina's place, Emma pulls into the driveway parking her car beside Regina's on the driveway. She got out of the car and walked Regina to her front door. Once they get there, Emma leans in to give a good night kiss. Which Regina eagerly returns and deepens. When they break apart for much needed air, Regina offers for Emma to stay in the guest room. As she was feeling the affects of the wine hitting her hard. That's the thing with a good vintage of Red. It takes it time for the alcohol content to hit your system.

"Hmm, I think I might take you up on that offer…it is probably not a good idea I get back behind the wheel." Replied Emma.

"Great. Well then let open the door and I can find you something to wear to sleep in." said Regina as she struggles with opening the lock. It is a good thing Henry was staying at the loft because they would have woken him up with all the noise they were making getting through the door.

Regina and Emma stumble their way up the grand staircase together, Emma following behind Regina so that she could get the change of clothes. Emma sat on Regina's queen sized bed for a moment while she waited for Regina to find her a pair of pyjamas. The bed felt really soft under her, luring her to lay back onto it. So much so that by the time Regina had found Emma the pyjamas, she found Emma passed out on her bed. She chuckled to herself as quietly as she could. Placing the pyjamas on the nearest available surface.

Regina then carefully took off Emma's heels, placing them by the bedside table. Then as best she could lifted Emma's body up slightly to tuck her in under the doona and blankets underneath. Regina then crept around the other side of the bed, then crawled in behind Emma's body. Pulling her in close to her own body. Before falling soundly asleep. With her blonde saviour held safely in her arms.
