Disclaimer: I own nothing!

Overview: To give a better summary of this story, Ventus' heart connects to Shantae's instead of Sora's meaning Sora never gains the keyblade from the start.

Instead, Ventus' Heart will be connected to Shantae's heart, giving her the ability to wield the keyblade, but this will also change Vanitas' Appearance, making Vanitas a female in this crossover.

(Sora's connection to Ventus when Vanitas was created influenced Vanitas' Appearance, so the same thing should happen if Ventus' heart connected to a different character)

This fanfiction will be starting off from the storyline of Pirate's Curse, since Shantae will have to deal with villains using a keyblade.

Shantae's fanbase has clearly said that Shantae is 16. Meaning the timeline for each story takes place during a single year! So she will not be going through the events of Kingdom hearts 1 through 2 and most of the spin-offs.

I will not be starting from the storyline of the first game due to the fact that I do not wish to make this fanfic COMPLETELY about the Shantae story line. Hence why I am starting from Pirate's Curse.

I will be working my way through the Events of both Pirate's curse and Half-Genie Hero before going into the events of Kingdom Hearts 3, which will be drastically altered, then switching back to the Shantae Series with The Seven Sirens.

I would also like to state that Ventus will be joining Shantae for The events of Seven sirens, this will be explained later on. Anyways, Lets get on with the story.

Prologue: A Strange Dream, like a far off Memory

It was a quiet night on the outskirts of Scuttletown, much like usual, the stars shined bright above the world. On a night like this a certain girl was sleeping in her bed, having a strange dream, but this one was not like the usual strange dreams.

She found herself standing on a stained glass platform inside of a dream, an image of herself, followed by smaller images of her friends and her Uncle within smaller circles.

She was a rather short girl, being around 16. She had olive tanned skin, a slim yet curvy frame, purple-ish blue eyes and long purple hair tied back into a ponytail with a gilded band. She wore, golden accessories, a blackish purple vest and choker over a red bra with a small gold hoop in the middle, and red harem pants with matching shoes.

She watched as three pedestals appeared, one bearing a sword, one bearing a shield, and another one bearing a staff. A voice spoke to her, It was a boy's voice, one around her age.

"You have the power, all you have to do is give it a form." The voice said, urging the girl to choose what she wanted. She first wandered over to the sword.

"The power of the warrior, invincible courage, a sword of great destruction." The voice said, the girl then wandering to the shield, wanting to know her other options better as well.

"The power of the gaurdian, strength to protect what matters, an unbreakable shield." The voice said once more. Walking over to the staff the voice spoke yet again.

"The power of the mystic, Inner strength, a staff of wonder and ruin." It said, the girl thought for a bit and grabbed the staff.

"You choose the power of the Mystic?" The voice asked.

"Yes." The girl said, and the staff disappeared from her hands.

"Now, choose a power to sacrifice." The voice said, leaving the girl to think once more, she walked over to the sword.

"You choose to sacrifice the power of the warrior?" The voice asked, earning a "yes" from the girl.

"Your path is set." The voice said and suddenly the girl was inside her home, the light house on the outskirts of scuttle town. Standing around her were her friends, Sky, Bolo, and Rottytops. She approached Sky first, who smiled.

"What do you want most out of life?" The young woman asked.

"To live a life of adventure." The girl answered.

"Is living a life of adventure all that desirable?" The young woman asked, leaving the girl confused but she nodded, not speaking as she walked over to Rottytops.

"What are you most afraid of?" Rottytops asked.

"Losing my friends." The girl answered.

"Is losing your friends all that scary?" Rottytops asked, no longer speaking afterwards. The girl nodded then walked her way to Bolo.

"What is the most important to you?" Bolo asked.

"Protecting those who cannot protect themselves." The girl answered.

"Is protecting those that cannot protect themselves all that important?" Bolo asked once more, earning a final nod from the girl.

"You want to live a life of adventure, you're afraid of losing your friends, and it is important for you to protect those who cannot protect themselves. You're journey begins at midday, all you have to do is open the door." The voice from earlier said as suddenly the girl found herself on another strange platform.

Standing on the platform was a blonde haired boy that looked to be her age. He looked kind, even familiar somehow, and greeted her with a smile. "You may not have your half-genie magic anymore, but that does not mean you are powerless. Call upon the key when you need it." The boy said, the door behind him opening, a breeze blowing through the door as the boy disappeared.

The girl walked through the door, and as she was swallowed by the light she could swear she heard the boy's voice.

"May your heart be your guiding key." The voice said, echoing in her mind as suddenly she woke up with a start, hearing a loud booming noise.

Pirate's Curse Chapter 1: Ammo Baron and CackleBats

Shantae woke up in a panic, feeling the earth shake and hearing booming noises and panicked screams coming from the town.

"What in the world?" The girl exclaimed as she quickly got changed and put her long purple hair into her iconic ponytail. She ran out of her light house and looked out into the distance, Scuttle town was under attack.

"I may not be a Genie, but it's still my duty to protect this town from evil!" She exclaimed before she ran to the town as fast as she could, being greeted by her friends Sky and Bolo.

"Sky! Bolo!" She exclaimed as she watched all the towns people run away from the harbor town in a panic. "Is it another pirate attack?" She asked worriedly.

"Worse! It's the Ammo Baron." Sky complained, her warbird, Wrench, standing on her gloved hand. "He's turning Scuttle Town into a Warzone! Here." She said, handing Shantae an auto potion.

"An auto potion just in case." She said before she ran off into the town to help portect people.

"It's time to put your training to the test!" Bolo said, "You're a human now and you gotta fight like one! Here, take this pike ball." He added, handing Shantae a pike ball. "I'm gonna go catch up with Sky!" He said, running off into the town.

"Bolo is right, I can do this without my Genie Magic!" Shantae exclaimed before she ran into the town, she encountered troop after troop of Ammo Baron's men.She hit them with her hair, knocking them out. And soon enough She found the Mayor of Scuttle town.

"Huzzah!" He exclaimed. "It's Scuttle Town's Guardian Genie! Here to save the day!" The mayor said excitedly, happy to see Shantae.

"Get real, Mayor! I can't fight the entire Ammonian Army by myself!" Shantae interjected, "Do something about this!" She said, trying to get the Mayor to help defend the town in his own way for a change.

"But you see I can't! I sold our town to the Ammo Baron in a moment of weakness and then spent the money on cheap waxy chocolates and ate them!" The mayor explained, admitting to his own failure.

"Say what!?" Shantae said in disbelief at the Mayor's idiocy.

"Then I had to go make dirty water and by the time I got back he'd already started to move in!" The mayor admitted, kind of grossing Shantae out about him shamelessly saying he had to go to the bathroom.

"He owns the town, so I can't make him leave!" The mayor whined, acting like a scared child.

"Gargh! Nevermind!" Shantae huffed. "Magic or no, I'm Ret-2-go!" She said with a smile, going to do her best to protect the town. She then started running in the direction in which the troops were coming, knocking them out with a couple of hits from her hair.

She dodged and ducked away from and under attacks from the ammonian enemies, collecting gems that they dropped when they were rendered unconscious. She ran through the whole town, fighting off small platoons. And soon she would catch up with Bolo and Sky.

"Hey, you made it!" Bolo said.

"Ammo Baron is just up ahead, Bolo and I will handle escorting the civilians to safety." Sky said as Wrench squawked. Shantae nodded and she ran ahead, coming face to face with Ammo Baron as he was instructing his troops while he was standing on a tricked out tank.

"Ammo Baron!" She exclaimed.

"That's right boys!" Ammo Baron said to his men. "Tear down that preschool and convert it to a long-range cannon, and that retirement center, another cannon!" The man said with a hearty laugh.

"Ahh, it's really coming along." He sniffed. "I'm tearing up here." He said with a tear of joy in his eye.

"Hold it right there Ammo Baron!" Shantae interjected. "No one weaponizes the elderly on my watch!" She exclaimed.

"Ka-blammo! Boys, you shouldn't have! Is she here to dance at my victory party?" Ammo Baron asked his men as he looked at Shantae with a perverted gaze. "Thrice approved! Yes, she will indeedly do!" He said with approval.

"The Nerve! What do I look like anyway?" Shantae asked, clearly offended by this sick man's statements and gazes.

"I dunno. Some kind of dancer...? I guess? ...Aren't you?" Ammo Baron asked in reply.

"Oh. Well yeah." Shantae said in embarrassment.

"Yeah?" Ammo baron asked.

"Yes! Whatever! Stop wrecking our town!" Shantae exclaimed, clearly not having any patience for this awkward conversation.

"According to the "Fairness towards Oversized Chocoholic Landowners Act" Mayor Scuttlebutt has 30 days to refund the full amount in cash or edible confections before you can claim legal occupancy!" She explained, having knowledge of many laws since it came up in her job a lot.

"Huh? Lemmeseehere..." Ammo Baron said as he then read a legal document. "Yeegads, she's right!" He exclaimed after reading the fine print.

"But I'm not about to let some purple-haired pipsqueak stand between me and my glorious new empire!" The man exclaimed, deciding to ignore the law as always.

"Boo-shwa! Let's dance!" He said as he started up his tank, clearly starting a battle. He drove his tank at her, the large vehicle surprisingly charging at her fast.

She barely dodged it, the tank hitting against a sturdy wall of crates she hid behind. He drove into the wall three times, backing up he began firing cannon balls at Shantae, who hit one of them back at the tank, knocking Ammo baron out of it.

Shantae trapped him against the ground, and then proceeded to whip him with her hair, which did surprising amounts of damage. The man somehow scrambled away back into his tank and repeated his attacks.

This continued for three rounds before Ammo Baron's tank blew up, Leaving Ammo Baron covered in dust, oil, and his jacket covered in tears.

"That takes care of you!" Shantae exclaimed happily, as she was the victor of this battle.

"NOOO! Look what you've done to my tank! Ammo baron said, grabbing his head in disbelief as he stared at his destroyed tank. "It was a gift from my mother!" He added in distress.

"What is all this commotion?" An old voice said, Shantae turning to see her Uncle Mimic, Sky, Bolo, and Mayor Scuttlebutt approaching them.

"It's the Ammo Baron." Sky explained.

"He's trying to destroy Scuttle Town!" Bolo added.

"I want my chocolate back!" Mayor Scuttlebutt whined.

"HAAAAALT!" The voice of a Sequin Land Palace Guard announced as two armored men arrived.

"Gaurdian Genie! You must cease your attack by order of Sequin Land Sultana!" The guard said, surprising the five who were clearly in the right.

"Wha- Me!?" Shantae exclaimed in disbelief.

"Pha-haw! You see? The law's on my side girly girl!" The Ammo Baron boasted with a laugh.

"But.. but he's the one who.." Shantae tried to explain but was interrupted.

"For assaulting the rightful owner of this town, your status as town guardian is hereby revoked!" The guard said, not allowing Shantae to explain anything, handing her a court summons.

"You are hereby confined to quarters until your hearing at Sequin Land Palace." The guard said. "You will be relieved of any special weaponry at that time. Good Day!" He added before he left with his fellow guard.

"Looks like someone's getting a haircut! Har har har!" Ammo Baron laughed as he walked off triumphant in the end.

"They can't take my hair, can they Uncle?" Shantae asked her uncle. "It's all I have left!" She complained.

"Do as they say for now." Mimic said, wanting to keep his niece from getting into any more danger.

"But what if.." Shantae began but was interrupted.

"Patience. I will head to the palace myself to sort this out." Mimic said, "Just promise me you'll STAY OUT OF TROUBLE." He ordered her.

"I promise Uncle." Shantae said, upset more than ever.

"My poor, poor town!" The Former Mayor whined again as he left.

"Guess we blew it, huh? What a mess." Bolo complained with a deep sigh, his shoulders slumping as he left.

"Your uncle's right." Sky said. "We'll just have to place our trust in the authorities and hope for the best." She added before she left as well.

"Wait up!" Shantae called out to her. "How did I get into this mess?" She sighed, heading to her home.

"That rotten Risky Boots!" She sighed as she walked into her lighthouse. "Ever since she stole my magic, things have gone from bad to worse!" She complained.

"A hot bath is just the thing I need to clear my head." She sighed as she ran herself a hot bath, filling it with bubbles as she undressed and sat into the tub.

"Ahhh..." she sighed as she relaxed. "Wait... I don't own a bathtub." She said as she realized the tub was never there before. Suddenly metal clamped around her, trapping her in the tub.

"Don't tell me." She said as she soon heard a woman's laughter. A light grey skinned woman with purple hair, purple revealing clothes, red eyes and her hair tied in a pirate do-rag dropped from the ceiling and approached her.

"Well, well! Isn't this a sight?" The woman asked teasingly.

"Risky Boots!" Shantae said with a glare at the woman, one that oddly looked like Risky just drowned a pet goldfish.

"In the flesh." Risky said proudly. "Enjoying my boobietrap bathtub, I see." She added with more of a teasing tone.

"ARRGH! You're in big trouble when I get out of this!" Shantae said, struggling against the restraints.

"Please, you're giving me goosebumps." The pirate lady replied with a scoff. "I'll keep this quick. Tell me where my men are, and I'll let you live to see tomorrow." She said, her tone serious at the moment.

"What are you talking about?" The former half-genie said tilting her head in pure confusion.

"Don't get cute!" Risky growled. "My men AND my weapons are gone." She explained. "Who else but you would take them?" Risky asked, accusing Shantae of theft.

"Me?" Shantae asked, not really convinced. "You're the only thief around here!" She jabbed at Risky's pirate lifestyle.

"Really! Then perhaps you can explain why your uncle has my crewmen caged up in his lab!" Risky shouted, surprising Shantae.

"Don't be ridiculous." Shantae retorted, not believing her uncle would do such a thing.

"Okay then. I'll PROVE that you're up to no good!" Risky stated, taking Shantae, still bound in the boobietrapped bathtub to her uncle's lab, somehow not attracting any attention due to her sneaking capabilities.

Inside Mimic's lab was a large glass tube with a single tinkerbat inside of it. A metal vent attached to the top, leading out of a chimney.

"There's my missing man!" Risky exclaimed with a prideful smile. "Right here in dear old uncle's workshop." She growled with a false teasing tone.

"What have you got to say for yourself now?" Risky asked Shantae.

"I didn't know! But I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation!" Shantae said, not believing that her Uncle actually captured a tinker bat.

"I know the reason! You wanted revenge for that incident with the Genie Lamp!" Risky proclaimed. "Just look at my poor defenseless Tinkerbat! He's terrified!" She said, the tinkerbat not really looking terrified at all.

"Looks fine to me." Shantae stated with a sigh.

"This is your last chance! Tell me where they are! I want my men! I want my weapons! And I want them right now!" She ordered, sounding kind of like a brat more than a grown woman. But an alarming noise distracted her as she looked at the glass container trapping the tinkerbat.

"Huh?"

"What's that noise?" Shantae asked, watching with Risky as a plume of what looked to be purple and black smoke filled the containment unit for the tinkerbat.

The smoke entered the tinkerbat's body, making it shake and convulse, it began transforming, it's arms changed to wings, it's body became more bulbous and it's face was replaced by a gaping maw of jagged and sharp teeth. The only form of clothing that remained on this corrupted creature was it's do-rag.

It let out a feral screech as it broke through it's containment by slamming it's head on the glass, flittering onto the ground, stunned for now.

"A Cacklebat!" Risky exclaimed in disbelief, having some form of history with these creatures.

"A what?" Shantae asked, really concerned.

"No.. no, it can't be..." Risky said, trauma showing in her eyes.

"What happened to him?" Shantae asked.

"I'll explain later! I'm unarmed so you just defeat him!" Risky ordered as she loosened Shantae's restraints so she could get out, even giving her her clothes back.

Shantae quickly got dressed, and as she was getting ready to attack the cacklebat, it lunged at her, no longer stunned. For a brief moment her mind went blank as if she were knocked out.

Her body seemingly moved on it's own and a flash of light appeared coming from her hand, a strange blade took place where the light was.

The blade was strange, it looked like a scimitar with two golden hoops in the curved spine, the main portion wrapped in a solid purple swirl that looked like her own hair, the teeth of the blade being part of the purple swirl which protruded from a gilded hair band like her own with a crystalized heart in it.

The hand guard of the blade was similar to her golden headband, gem and all, swooping down around the hilt with curved sides and a magic lamp keychain.

She didn't know how this blade appeared, neither did Risky based on how her face looked baffled at this, but she wasn't going to question it seeing as the cacklebat was chomping on the teeth of the blade.

Shantae swung the blade with both hands, forcefully loosening the cacklebat's grip on it, and somehow the blade cut right through the creature, making it turn to dust which dissipated leaving behind the plume of black smoke which remained motionless.

Shantae stood back up straight and the blade somehow disappeared.

"Here, get rid of that wretched stuff with this!" Risky said, handing Shantae a magic lamp, the same magic lamp used to steal her genie magic. Shantae used the lamp to suck up the black and purple smoke, which swirled around like a never dissipating energy.

"I got him, now could you kindly explain what's going on here?" Shantae asked, she wanted an explanation as to why that strange energy corrupted the tinkerbat.

"There's no time." Risky denied.

"What about the lamp? Aren't you going to try and take it back?" The former half-genie asked another question.

"Keep it. I've got bigger fish to fry." Risky denied again. "And so do you, if the Pirate Master has returned to Sequin Land." She said, giving a hint as to what was going on.

"What was that about?" Shantae asked herself. "Who's the Pirate Master?" She needed more info but she also wondered "what was that strange blade?" , nonetheless she needed to know more from Risky about the danger the Pirate Master posed.

Chapter end, I do apologize of it was too fast paced, I usually end up slowing down more as I go on.
