What makes somebody a "hero"?

By definition, or at least from what Henry could recall, they are supposed to be a person that, in face of danger, challenges adversity through feats ingenuity, courage, or strength. Of course, the definition itself naturally changes and evolves alongside humanity.

Heroes originally did such deeds for the sake of glory and honor. Nothing wrong with it. Different era, different mindset. Then, when post-classical and modern heroes arrived, they truly redefined the term:

Heroes nowadays are simply folks who perform great deeds or selfless acts for the common good and alike.

Stories, comic books, cartoons—you name it—and from them many iconic heroes were born. Although fictional, they still teach meaningful lessons, influencing numerous children and adults and encouraging them to be decent humans. That you do not have to wear a cape to be a hero. That even the smallest acts of kindness and the importance of choosing to do so, no matter what it is. That such things are never wasted.

Simply put, countless heroes living among each of us every day are making the cruel reality of the world less miserable than it already is.

...Yet, somebody please explain to him why the police are surrounding and training their guns on him, with people in hero-like costumes sending him such wary gazes and ready to pounce on him all together, right after he saved a family from being murdered by a bunch of gangster-wannabes?

And why is everybody looking at him like he just kicked a puppy?

If this is a dream, then it is what Henry is definitely not looking forward to.

"Freeze! Hands in the air! You're under arrest for illegally using Quirk in the public and performing vigilantism!"

The hostility is there, all right, ever-so evident in the tone which a certain police officer is using whilst pointing her issued New Nambu 60 at him with one hell of a squinting gaze. Adorable; however that .38 special double-action revolver is nowhere near enough to put a scratch on his body.

Having said that, getting arrested because of saving a family?

Also, Quirk?

Oh, Lord above. If he is up there, watching what is unfolding before his very eyes, then please wake him up from this... horrid nightmare. For his fellow brothers-and-sisters-in-arms certainly did not sacrifice their lives for this blatant horseshit that is stomping on the peace they fought and bled so hard for.

Henry has no bloody idea what exactly happened during his "hibernation", but one thing for sure...

...this shall not stand.

A/N: So yeah, just a prologue of an idea that popped up in my head. Basically, this is an out-of-time man who can't stand how the future degraded and spat on the word "hero". Anyway, see you again soon :D
