Story is starting from TVD 3x5 when Klaus figures out Elena's blood is the key to making hybrids.
….
"I need to get out of here," Elena awoke, finding herself lying in a hospital bed with a drip and a blood bag attached to her arm. The room was dimly lit and all she could heart was the beeping from the heart monitor beside her bed, her head had felt like she'd been pummelled by a tonne of bricks. She frantically tries to stand up but is brought to a sudden stop when the nurse pulls her arms down.
"Not an option, you've lost a lot of blood, you're not going anywhere," the nurse responded, her voice cold and distant.
"Wait," Elena was weak and pale, she picked up the blood bag, before looking back to the nurse, "are you taking my blood?"
"Of course," the nurse spoke as if this was normal, Elena had began to understand what was happening, she was compelled, "it's very important for your friend Klaus."
A loud gasp escaped Elena's lips as she saw the nurse inject something into her IV, she tried to grab her arm and stop her but she already began to feel weaker, "no!"
"Ah," the nurse grabbed onto Elena's shoulder and stopped her from fighting back until she couldn't move any longer, "he told me you need plenty of rest."
Elena lay back, her eyes closing and all she could see was black; she couldn't feel a thing as she drifted off into an unconscious state.

Klaus was in the parking lot with Rebekah; she was sitting on the car, watching as her brother paced up and down, his ego exploding, "how did you know Elena's blood was they key to saving your hybrids?"
"Well, it was a hunch," he leaned against the car, smirking slightly, "anything the original witch told me to do, I'd do the opposite, completing the ritual would break the curse…"
"So you'd still be a hybrid but wouldn't be able to make anymore?" Rebekah concluded, smirking at the entire situation, amazed that even in the grave, the original witch was still taunting Klaus.
"Exactly, making sure I'd always be alone," he admitted without much thought, a slight bit of vulnerability creeping out from within him.
Rebekah tilted her head to the side, looking her brother in the eye, her compassion winning in the battle of his hate for him, "is that what this is all about, Nik? So you won't be alone."
Klaus just stayed silent, his gaze flickering to the ground before he put his cold and heartless demeanour back in place, he cleared his throat and stood back up straight, "you go get the coffins, bring the truck around, I'm going to Elena and my hybrid."
Rebekah just rolled her eyes, another failed attempt to reach her brother; she jumped from the car and landed on her feet, "fine."
He watched as she walked away, shaking his head at her constant need to find something within him, all the good parts of him went a thousand years ago; as he went to turn around and enter the hospital, Damon had appeared in front of him, Klaus instinctively grabbed his throat and flung him backwards.
Damon landed on the bonnet of a parked car in the lot; Klaus appeared in front of him and wrapped his hand around his neck once more.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it," Damon said, his voice croaky and wheezy.
"Unlike your brother, I actually keep my word," Klaus thought for a long moment and shrugged it off, raising his hand behind his head, "what the hell, you're brother doesn't care anyway."
"Wait.. Mikael," Damon could barely speak, Klaus' grip on his neck becoming stronger.
A look of fear consumed Klaus' facial expressions, his eyes widening at the mere mention of him, "how do you know that name?"
"Me and Katherine," Klaus loosened his grip on his neck, he was seconds away from ripping Damon's heart from chest, "we awakened him, he's on his way here."
"You're lying," Klaus had hoped this was all a ploy, there was only one person on this earth he feared and that was Mikael.
"Even if I am, is it worth the risk?" Damon pulled a cocky grin and pushed Klaus' hand from his throat, returning to his feet, "now give me Elena."
Anger began to rise within Klaus, his teeth clamped so hard he could crack a tooth; even if Mikael was on his way, there was still time, "if there is any truth to what you say, then I'll need all the hybrids I can get."
Before Damon could say another word, he snapped his neck and his body fell lifeless to the floor, buying himself enough time to get Elena; he sped off into the hospital and straight into Elena's room.
He grabbed a medical supply bag from the table next to Elena's bed, the nurse had prepared everything he could need to take Elena's blood; he stood beside her bed, noting how peaceful she looked when she slept, all that would go away once she woke up. He pulled the tubes from her body and lifted her from the bed, cradling her in his arms before speeding away like a blur.
Klaus returned to his sister, she was in the truck ready to go, "there's not enough room for us all, go and get me a car, quickly!"
"Nik, what's the rush?" she dreaded the answer, her heart racing at the thought of it, she knew the only time he ever acted like this was when Mikael had caught up to them.
"Just get me a car, Rebekah," he raised his voice, his eyes constantly wandering around the surrounding area, looking for any sign of him.
Rebekah returned a few minutes later with a stolen car; she pulled up in front of him and stepped out of the vehicle, she opened the back door for Nik to get Elena in the back, "thank you, sister."
He slammed the door shut and gave her a quick hug, "you have to stay here, keep our family safe, I'll lead Mikael away from you, it's only me he wants, be safe. I'll come back for you and our siblings."
Before she even had the chance to speak, he was in the drivers seat and starting the car, he put his foot down and sped out of the parking lot; he just kept driving, unsure of where he would end up but all he knew is that he had to go somewhere far away from Mystic Falls.

An hour or so had passed, Klaus was still driving when he heard a groaning noise emerging from the back seat, he looked up to th mirror and saw Elena rubbing her head, her eyes still half closed and she was completely disoriented; he knew this wasn't going to be an easy conversation, he found it all quite amusing.
"Finally, you're awake," he smirked, flickering his eyes between the mirror and the road; there was silence for a long minute whilst Elena collected herself and began to realise what was happening.
"Klaus?" Her voice had a hint of panic in it as her survival instincts kicked in and she found strength enough to pull herself up into a sitting position; she looked around the car, eventually trying to open the car doors, "let me go!"
"Calm down, love," he continued to drive, his amusement becoming stronger, "we're going on a little trip."
"I'm not going anywhere with you, let me out," she began pulling harder at the door handle and kicking the door in hopes it would budge; she brought her fist down on the window but not even a crack, "you can't do this, let me out!"
She began screaming, panic overfilling her as she kept trying; she'd moved to the other door and began trying to pry it open. Klaus was becoming impatient with her behaviour, her screaming and attacking of the car was becoming tiresome; he slammed down on the breaks and the car came to a sudden stop, her body had flung into the seat in front of her, her head colliding with the side of the car.
"Enough, Elena!" His voice raised slightly, he opened the car door and stepped out of the vehicle, using his speed to go to her side of the car; he ragged open the door and grabbed her arm, pulling her out of the car, "unfortunately, you're precious Salvatore has awakened one of my greatest enemies and I couldn't leave mystic falls without you."
"He woke up Mikael?" Elena couldn't wrap her mind around what that meant for her loved ones in Mystic Falls, although he was after Klaus, he wouldn't let anyone stand in his way to get to him! "You have to take me back now, Klaus."
"Can't risk it, love, you're too important,"
"So what are you gonna do, huh? Kidnap me, drag me halfway around the country and expect me to be happy about it?" Elena shook her head in disbelief, her adrenaline had kick in and she was acting before thinking, "I'm not going to let you use me to sire an army of hybrids, I'll sooner kill myself."
Before she knew it, she felt her back hit the car, her neck whipping back before Klaus wrapped his hand around it; his face was centimetres away from hers, all of her fear for him flooding back to the surface, the reason why they had planned to kill him in the first place. She struggled to catch a breath as tried to fight against him.
"Listen here, I'm not spending the entire day out in the open arguing like this, you're coming with me, end of discussion," he growled, his voice low and serious; she continued to try and fight him, his other hand catching her arm and pushing it against the car, "if you don't come, everyone you love will die, slowly and painfully."
Elena wanted to fight back, she wanted to argue and object until she couldn't anymore but her heart broke at even the mention of something happening to someone she loved; she stopped fighting, her arms dropped to her side and she nodded her head, "fine, I'll go with you but if anything happens to my family, then I'll turn myself into a vampire and you can say bye-bye to anymore hybrids."
He completely let go of her neck, watching as she began to rub the area in discomfort; he smirked and held his hand out towards her, gesturing for her to shake, "deal!"
She looked from his hand to his face, noting the pleasure he got from this, always winning and lacking compassion, she hated it; she took a deep breath and folded her arms across her chest, "oh no, not quite yet, if you think it's gonna be that easy for me to leave everyone and everything I love behind then you don't know me at all."
"Fine," he growled, his lip curling, "what do you want?"
"In return for my family's safety forever, I'll come with you," she started, she knew she had some leverage over Klaus but she didn't want to push it, he was impulsive and paranoid, he could kill her in a heartbeat, "in return for my blood and my co-operation, I don't want you to threaten me or hurt me in any way, I don't want to be treated like a slave, I'm a human being, not your personal blood bag."
"I can agree to that," he cocked his head to the side, contemplating everything she was saying, trying to figure out if this was all just a ploy.
"And finally, I'll help you with anything you need: Mikael or any other enemy you may have or any bad situation you're in, I'm there but you have to take me home for a couple of hours tonight, I need to get some of my things and see everyone for one last time before I leave forever."
"Not happening," he shut that down in an instant, "Mikael could be there as we speak and he'll kill us all."
"If he was trailing you, we would know about it by now, just drop me at Damon's and wait for me on the outskirts, keep a low profile and I will leave with you, no fighting or arguing, we'll just go," Elena pleaded with him.
He began pacing back and forth, weighing the risk of returning to mystic falls but it was hard to refuse her, as much as he lacked the ability to care, he could relate to her situation; his whole life was turned upside down when his parents made him a hybrid and he's been running ever since, her entire life had just changed over night, it was hard to say no.
He sighed, grabbing the car keys from his pocket and opening her door, "fine, let's go."
Before she could slide into the passenger seat, she felt his hand grab onto her arm once again, this time was more gently but he still neared her face, "if you're planning anything, the deal is off, I will kill Jeremy, then Bonnie, then Damon and I'll keep going until you leave with me, understood?"
"God, Klaus," she pulled her arm from his grip, shaking her head, "I've just told you I'm coming with you, stop threatening me, if this is ever going to work then we both need to learn how to trust each other."
Klaus took a deep breath, amused by her words, he could never trust her, he'd spent a thousand years without trusting someone and it got him this far, "get in."
