Klaus & Kol - the witches.
It didn't take the two brothers long to arrive at Lafayette cemetery after they left the hotel, Klaus still had Elena on his mind, he was more distracted than he would have been if she was here, instead he was worried about leaving her alone at the hotel.
The cemetery appeared to be empty, not a soul in sight; they walked further into the centre where the ritual had been completed by Finn to resurrect there mother.
"They witches wouldn't come back here," Kol spoke, looking at the large door, "they know we would come looking for them here."
"Doesn't hurt to check," Klaus spoke, before pushing open the large door and walking inside, his eyes scanning the area as they walked further in until they reached the centre; it was empty and there was no evidence the ritual had even been performed here, all the equipment and the coffin was gone.
"What do we do if we happen to run into our mother, Nik?" Kol questioned, he was hoping to avoid a battle today.
"We'll rip out her throat and feed it to the crows," his mother was always a trigger for Klaus, he remembers how close they where when he was a boy, how she looked after and cared for him and now she wants to destroy him and his siblings after she has made them monsters.
"Let's go," Klaus said before exiting the crypt once more, walking the through the stone corridor and leaving through the large door; suddenly, he felt a crippling pain in his head, his hands instantly pressing against it, he shot his gaze towards Kol and he was in the same position.
Several witches appeared around them, there hands raised towards them; they stayed a few feet away from them and stood side-by-side. The two brothers had fell to there knees, the pain becoming more intense the more they focused there power into, he scrambled to pull himself on his feet and attempted to approach them, his anger apparent.
"Enough!" He growled loudly.
The witches lowered there hands and there pain had stopped, Klaus was instantly on his feet and standing in front of one of the witches, "give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you all right now?"
"Esther," the young brunette witch spoke, an air of confidence about her; she has piqued Klaus' attention and he stepped back slightly.
"What do you know?" Klaus was curious as to why they would want to discuss the business of another witch with him; they didn't intend to do anything more than subdue them momentarily to get there attention but he wasn't playing games or being lead straight into trap by Esther.
"All I know is that two of the three witches died performing the ritual to resurrect her and they used dark magic, we only practice ancestral magic here, we're servants of nature and when that spell was complete, the spirits became angry, they don't like the upset in the balance."
"My mother being alive?" Klaus questioned.
"Yes, she's supposed to be on the other side and now, she's here trying to control us all, she used magic on several of my friends when they wouldn't submit," she sounded completely shocked by this but for a witch to attack another one of there own was a betrayal to her, "she's tapping into the power we have here and with her own magic, she'll be unstoppable."
"Why won't you submit to her?" Kol asked, all the power she could bring them and they refuse it, he was curious.
"This is our home, our ancestors and our family, we won't go to war with the vampires or be responsible for the death of the originals, Marcel and his vampires will hunt each and every one of us down and kill us slowly and painfully for even thinking about it, he murdered my sister for performing the ritual."
"What's your name?" Kol asked.
"Sophie Deveraux, my sister was Jane-Anne, he has kept her body as leverage for more information regarding the magic used; we don't know how but he is able to track when magic is being used in the quarter and the more Esther uses, the more we're going to suffer."
"And what do you want from us?" Klaus questioned, not completely convinced this isn't a trap.
"We want to help you kill Esther and be rid of her dark magic, we want our life to return to normal."
"My mother is powerful enough to kill Marcel and all the vampires he has in his circle, why not side with her?" Klaus was paranoid, anything to do with the original witch sent him into a spiral of anger and paranoia.
"We will take back the quarter one day, we'll be stronger and ready for the battle but not this way, we will become slaves to Esther and she will rule over us all, this isn't what we want, we will not have dark magic practiced here."
"What will you want in return for your help?" Kol spoke out.
"Just when that day does come and we want to take back the quarter, don't try and stop us, you don't have to help but leave me and my sisters alone."
"You have yourself a deal," it didn't take long for Klaus to weigh the good and the bad with this arrangement, even if it's a trap, he'll still receive more information from them then he could on his own, "when do you last see her?"
"This morning," Sophie answered, her voice becoming serious, "she said she found a weapon that will kill you and your family and they went to retrieve it."
"What weapon?" Klaus spat, his voice filled with rage.
"A white oak stake."
"Impossible, the last remnants of the tree we burnt a thousand years ago was destroyed with my father, there is no more white oak," he was becoming more nervous by the moment,
"They said she done a locator spell in hopes to find more and it told her there was white oak in Mystic Falls."
"No," he shook his head, refusing to believe it, "when will she be back?"
"Tomorrow."
"We won't have time to fly there and stop them, brother," Kol pulled his brother to one side, forcing his attention on him, "if what they say is true, they'll return with weapons that can kill us all."
"And that's all we know so far," Sophie interrupted, "if we receive more information, we'll let you know."
Klaus nodded his head, his frustration not allowing him to speak; he watched as they all began to leave the cemetery, leaving only the two brothers remaining.
"We have to get out of here," Klaus spoke before they both sped off into the distance.
The Mikaelson Mansion - The Present.
"Wait, so you're mother has a white oak stake?" Elena exclaimed, looking between Klaus and Kol once he had finished updating everyone on there meeting with the witches.
"Apparently so," Klaus was still hoping it was all a ploy, the white oak stake was the only weapon on earth able to kill an original vampire, he was nervous, to say the least.
"What are we going to do?" Elijah placed his head in his hands for a long moment, every time he sees a glimmer of hope for his family, something comes along to ruin it.
"Oh no," Elena's eyes widened slightly, "Klaus, they had rebuilt the bridge in Mystic Falls."
"Please tell me you're not going to say what I think you're going to say," Rebekah stood from her chair, pacing slightly, remembering the construction that was in place before they left.
"It's built from white oak," Elijah spoke through gritted teeth, "all they have to do is destroy the bridge and they have an arsenal of weapons."
"This can't be happening," Klaus was suddenly overcome with fear, he thought he would be able to just kill his mother and be done with it but he won't know peace until every inch of that wood was destroyed.
"We will figure this out, Niklaus," Elijah reassured, standing from the chair and approaching him, placing his hand on his shoulder, "we're not going to allow this to become between our family, we can build a life here and we can be happy."
"You're right, Elijah," he responded, placing his hand on Elijah's shoulder also, "we can do this, as a family."
Kol and Rebekah stood beside each other, slightly shocked by his willingness to work together; in the past, every time there has been a threat on there family, he had daggered them to keep them safe, waiting for all his enemies to be defeated so they could reunite but this time was different, Klaus had Elena and he was trying not to disappoint her.
"Let's get some rest," Rebekah stated, walking towards the staircase, Kol following, "big day tomorrow."
Elijah and Klaus had separated and the older sibling had decided to sit in his study for a while, whereas Klaus was unable to rest. Elena stayed by his side, offering any comfort she could give him.
"Do you want to go out?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders lightly, "I'm not going to be able to sleep anyway, we're not going to have time tomorrow for the tour of the city so let's go now."
"It might not be safe," Klaus argued.
"So what?" She exasperated, a small grin appearing on her lips, "nowhere is safe, probably not even here, so let's go for a walk, find a bar and have fun! It'll take our minds of all this."
Klaus contemplated for a long moment, he knew she was only doing this to distract him and he was grateful for that but what if something did go wrong and she would be placed in danger, he'd lose it.
"I'm not taking no for answer, either get your coat and come with me or I'll go alone," she stubbornly stood from the sofa and walked towards the coat rack, lifting her coat from it and slipping into it, "Well?"
He smirked slightly, standing from the sofa also and walking towards her, "and everyone says I'm the controlling one."
"Clearly, they don't know me at all," she proudly spoke, a small chuckle escaping her lips.
"I quite like this side of you," he leaned down towards her neck, placing soft kisses along her skin, "it's rather endearing."
"No distractions!" She exclaimed, walking towards the front door and opening it, anything to remove herself from that situation, they'd never leave, "let's go."
He grabbed his coat and left with her, he wrapped his arm around her waist and sped off into the night, racing through the city until he reached Bourbon Street, the heart of the city; people where laughing and dancing in the streets, everyone was drunk and the energy was high, she loved it.
"So, where are we going first?" She asked, completely mesmerised by the people and tourists of New Orleans.
"I did find this small bar just up ahead," his arm hadn't left her waist but he moved it upwards and wrapped it around her neck, guiding her to Rousseau's; she was quite surprised by him holding her so closely in public, they had been sneaking around for so long and she just wanted to enjoy it.
They entered the bar, it was crowded and loud, all she could hearing was laughing, cheering and the balls on the pool table bouncing of the cues; they walked up to the bar and found a space to squeeze into between the other customers, they both leaned on it and awaited service.
"What would you like, my love?" She swooned at his words, the heat rising to her face and manifesting into her cheeks, making them turn red; she enjoyed spending time with him like this.
"Beer will do," she smiled awkwardly, especially when she noticed his impressed expression, she just shrugged her shoulders in response, "I like beer."
"You're a mystery, Miss. Gilbert," the blonde bartender eventually caught up to them, Klaus ordered the beer and his usual scotch, Cami headed for the fridge and grabbed the bottle of beer, popping off the top and pouring his drink out, Klaus handed her a 20 and they turned around, there backs against the bar as they watched everyone party.
"Want to try me at a game of pool?" She smirked playfully, taking a few large swigs of beer, her attention returning to him, "I'll crush you."
He laughed playfully at her words, standing up from the bar and holding his hand out towards her, "you don't stand a chance, sweetheart."
She grinned widely, the tip of her tongue sticking out between her teeth; she fear she may come to regret the decision to challenge him but she'd never let him know that, "you'll see."
They walked over to the pool table, Klaus approached the two guys currently occupying it and stood close to one of them, staring into his eyes and beginning compulsion, "games over, mate, we'll take over."
"Game's over," he repeated, handing the cue to Klaus, Elena taking the cue from the other guy and removing her jacket, tossing it onto the back of the chair next to the table.
"I'm warning you now, Mikaelson, I spent every day at the grill in Mystic Falls," she spoke as lined the balls up inside the triangle, removing the template and tossing it aside, "and they have a pool table."
She grabbed the white ball and placed it at the other end of the table, lining it up to the top of the triangle, "may I?"
"Please," he smirked, watching as she bent down over the table slightly, cue in hand and pointing it towards the white ball; he couldn't help but admire her in this particular position, "I'm a lucky man."
A shy laugh escaped her lips at his words but this wouldn't distract her; she connected the cue with the ball, it blasted down the table and hit the top of the triangle, the balls all separating and four of them fell into the pockets.
She turned around to face Klaus, a smug smirk appearing on her lips; she walked past him, finding a different position on the table, she bent over it once again and lined her cue up with the white ball, hitting and pocketing another ball, she stood up straight, flashing him another smile.
She had missed the next shot and it was Klaus' turn; she watched as he lined up the pool cue, hitting the white ball and watching as it connected with the striped ball, it flew into the pocket.
"Well if it isn't my friend, mentor and special guest," she heard a male voice emerge from behind them, Klaus' expression changed once he had heard him and recognised it as Marcel; he stood up straight and turned to face him, a large grin appearing on the vampires lips, "Klaus."
Several of his inner circle vampires where with him and they stood a few feet behind Elena; Klaus had walked slowly towards her, keeping a short distance between them, "Marcel, what a surprise to see you in such a small bar, I didn't think it could host enough people for one of your parties."
He laughed slightly at the hybrids words, nodding his head towards the bar where Cami was working, "I like the staff."
"Surprising," he kept his responses short and to the point.
"And who's your meal for the night?" He smirked towards Elena, she just kept her mouth shut and stood a tad closer to Klaus; he extended his arm towards her, offering his hand, "I'm Marcel Gerrard."
"Elena," she took his hand and shook it slightly, returning her arm by her side.
"So, how do you know Klaus?" He didn't seem to trust her, the vampires standing behind her where edging closer to them.
"Oh, we just met," she grinned, faking a small giggle and placing her hand on Klaus' chest, "he promised he'd show me the world."
Klaus recognised what she was doing, she was trying to act compelled but he didn't like that she had to do it.
"I'm sure he will, sweetheart," Marcel laughed slightly, turning his attention back to Klaus, "I quite like the look of her and my guys haven't fed tonight, wanna share her, friend?"
"I don't think I will, friend," Klaus spoke through gritted teeth, he could hear Elena's heart beating faster with fear; she turned her gaze slightly over her shoulder, noticing the vampires had moved closer to her, "I think we best going."
"Stay a while, I'll get the next round in," Marcel was testing Klaus, trying to get under his skin; to his dismay, it was working, "my guys are thirsty."
Just as Marcel spoke, one of the vampires had used his speed to appear behind Elena, his fangs retracted and the veins under his eyes darkened; before he even had the chance to blink, Klaus had plunged his hand into his chest and pulled out his heart, dropping it on top of his corpse.
"Not just a meal, I see," Marcels expression had changed, he hated watching another vampire die.
"Try it again and I will end you all," his voice became sinister, his face mere inches from Marcel's, "we're leaving now, if anyone attempts to follow us, it will be the greatest mistake of your lives."
Klaus took Elena's coat and bag from the chair at the table and held them towards her, his eye contact never leaving Marcels; she took her things and he lead her out of the bar.
He grabbed Elena by the waist and sped them away from there; he returned them home as quickly as he could, he hadn't spoke, even when they entered the mansion; she was still quite shaken up, for once, she went to the liquor cabinet and poured them a drink, in attempt to calm there nerves.
"I'm sorry," she spoke, as she held the glass towards him.
"You have nothing to apologise for," he took the glass from her hand and held it in is, watching the liquid swirl.
"I shouldn't have pushed so much for us to leave the mansion," she looked down towards the ground for a long minute, realising it was her boredom and desire to leave the house that caused all this.
"You should be able to leave the house, Elena," he sighed slightly, taking a large sip of the bourbon in his hand, "you shouldn't have to be locked away from the world and for that, I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry," she shook her head slightly, placing her cup on the table and shifting her body on the sofa to face him, "now that Marcel knows about me, what will he do?"
"He won't dare touch you," he sounded angry just at the thought of it, "but he will try, he spent so much time trying to find a weakness in me and now that he's found one, he'll exploit it."
"I'm your weakness?" She spoke, her voice softening and her heart beating faster.
He turned to face her, his eyes locking onto hers; he had no doubt in his mind about his feelings towards Elena, he just feared it will hurt her one day, "you're my only weakness, Elena."
She placed her hands on either side of his head and brought him closer, her lips landing on his, he dropped his glass to the floor and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into him and indulging in the heated and passionate kiss between them.
She swung her leg over his and sat on his lap, pressing her thighs against him; his hands explored her body, desire overcoming him. He held onto her tightly as he stood from the sofa, carrying her upstairs and into the bedroom, there kiss remained unbroken.
He lay her flat on the bed, her legs still wrapped around his back; they began to remove each other's clothes, piece by piece tossed to the floor until there was no barrier between there bodies in there natural state.
His need for Elena was insatiable, his hands explored every inch of her body, getting to know her completely. She was lost in pleasure, his lips alone causing her body to ignite, she pushed him onto his back and straddled his waist, her entrance teasing his.
For a vampire with control issues, he enjoyed when she took over, admiring her strength and resilience, especially after the night they had, this only drew him in more. He held onto her waist as she put more passion between them, her breasts pressed against his chest and her hands cupping his face, kissing him vigorously.
He couldn't handle the desire that was overfilling him, he sat up, her legs instantly wrapping around his waist; she moved her hips along him, his erection moving against her entrance; a small groan escaped his lips at the contact, burying his head in her shoulder and kissing her neck to control his moans.
His hand moved up her back, entangling his fingers in her hair as he held her closer, his kisses become stronger; she took his other hand in hers, guiding it along her leg and up to her thigh; she continued to tease him, moving there entwined hands further up her body, grazing over her hip and her waist, smoothing past her torso and landing on her breast.
She released her hand and continued to kiss him, her lips moving downwards from his and tracing along his neck; just as she kissed his skin harder, she moved her hips upwards, rubbing against his erection as she moved before sliding herself on him, loud moans escaping there lips simultaneously.
She rocked her hips and slid in and out of him, pleasure erupting within her; he thrusted deep inside her, there movements matching every time. Her hips bucked when she felt him completely inside her, her walls tightening around him.
He groaned on her lips, wrapping his arm around her waist and moving her back onto the bed; it was his turn. He held onto her leg, raising it until it was near his face and began kissing her skin whilst he plunged himself into her repeatedly, several moans escaping her lips as he buried himself in her.
Her body writhed beneath him, her hands reaching out and grabbing him wherever she could, the pleasure overcoming her; her walls tightened around him and her whole body began to tingle, she rocked her hips as hard as she could as she reached her climax, her most sensitive area throbbing.
As she became wetter, he moved faster, his member fully inside her; she shouted out with pleasure, her moans only sending him over the edge. He towered his body over hers, her legs swinging around his back, she moved her hips on him, her nails digging into the skin on his back as she felt him enter her over and over again.
He moaned loudly on her lips, holding onto her as he drove his erection into her as deep as he could, spilling out into her; she couldn't hold it back, she forced herself to gather her strength as she continued to grind herself against him, climaxing again as her entire body tingled and shook around him.
After a long minute, he moved beside her, laying on his side with his head propped up on his hand; she turned over to face him, her body nestled against his.
"That was-" she scrambled to find the words to describe it.
"Incredible?" He continued, a soft smile curled up in his lips; he moved his free hand towards her face, stroking along her cheekbone.
"To say the least," a small grin appeared on her lips, before she leaned into him and placed a kiss on his lips.
"You should get some sleep, sweetheart," he trailed his fingers along her cheekbone and into her hair.
"Oh, I'm not done with you yet," she smirked playfully, cupping her hands on his face and pulling him into her, her lips planted on his.
"You're going to regret saying that," he smiled playfully on her lips before returning to there kiss, he pulled the blanket over them and they sunk into each other once again.
-w-
They eventually fell asleep after hours of being close; every inch of them had been explored, mind and body, they spoke personally in between there intimacy, delving into each other as much as they could, he wanted to know everything about her and his feelings for her only became stronger. She eventually fell into a deep sleep, resting in his arms as he too fell asleep.
Only, her blissful slumber had been interrupted by nightmares, her thoughts plagued by Esther; she tossed and turned as she saw them in Mystic Falls, he had tore apart the bridge and took as much wood as they could carry, he had killed a construction worker on the premises after he had caught them, she saw blood spill and even in her sleep, she felt his pain.
Her nightmares flashed from Mystic Falls to New Orleans, both of them in the cemetery; she was performing a spell, one that caused pain to Finn but it wouldn't allow her to see more. More red flashed across her dreams and they where stood outside the mansion, Elena was walking across the mansion and she opened the door, both of them welcoming her.
Her eyes suddenly opened, a small gasp escaping her lips when she awoke; she looked over to Klaus, this was the first time he had stayed with her since there relationship began. He must have been exhausted, this was the first time she had saw him rest in weeks.
She quietly crept out of bed, grabbing his plain black t-shirt from the floor and searching the rest of the area for her shorts, she slipped her converse onto her feet and crept out of the room, peering her head around the door to check he was still sleeping before walking downstairs.
Elena went into the kitchen and grabbed herself a glass of water, her mind racing at her dreams; it had all felt so real, even though she was asleep, she could feel everything that was happening. She drank the remainder of the water in the glass before placing it in on the side, her gaze stuck on the front door.
She walked towards it, her heart racing; she knew it couldn't be real, it was only a nightmare.
Reaching for the handle, she took a deep breath before pulling the door open; there was no-one there, not a soul in sight. She stepped onto the patio, her eyes scanning the area and confirming that she was alone.
She rolled her eyes slightly at herself, before shaking it off and walking towards the entrance to the mansion, just as she was about to step over the threshold, she felt a presence behind her; she quickly spun on her heel and saw them, Esther and Finn stood mere feet away from her.
Her lips parted slightly and she became frozen with surprise and fear; Finn had moved behind her, blocking the door so she couldn't run inside?
"Do you know who I am, Elena?" Esther spoke, her voice calm and elegant.
Elena only nodded her head, unable to speak.
"So, you'll understand why we are here," he took a few steps closer towards her, "I do apologise but we need to talk in private, away from here."
Before she had the chance to even scream, Finn had grabbed her and they all disappeared into the night, Elena was gone and the original witch had her, she feared for her life every moment she was in there captivity.
